  1. i run a cubietruck on armbian with 4.6.2 kernel. it starts with the software on mmcblk0p1 (with kernel 4.6.2 and the /lib dir on the sd) but uses as root a partition of the ssd. when i upgrade now, i see that the upgrade process produces a new initrd.img-4.6.3 and removes the old 4.6.2. (diagnosis: the system runs, but the keyboard/mouse connected to the usb is not functional - desktop over net works!) i assume that there is something wrong with the boot.cmd - but i do not see exactly how to fix it. the upgrade process uses the ssd .../lib directory and removes 4.6.2 there. if i would mount the /boot directory with the running system (in fstab) - would this hel…

Hello, actually it was not the first time the upgrade failed on this board: - upgrade 5.11 to 5.15 -> returned successfull - reboot - at boot system can not find file: sun6i-a31s-bananapi-m2.dtb (file sun6i-a31s-sinovoip-bpi-m2.dtb for BPi M2 is available) - fixed it by linking to the existing device tree blob sun6i-a31s-sinovoip-bpi-m2.dtb - reboot again - no network (my /etc/network/interfaces has been set to armbian default, same as /etc/network/interfaces.default, this happened the first time) fixed it again by setting the correct content I don't know if the upgrade process is the problem or if there is something messed up on my board... 3. Greeting, I installed the OrangePI plus image (desktop) on my Orange PI plus2. It seems to work fine but I can't get any video output. I tested with several h3disp settings, with a HDMI to VGA adapter then with an HDMI to DVI adapter, and finally on the A/V port. I have no hdmi screen to test direct connection without adapters. Ideally I would like to use the HDMI to VGA adapter. any ideas ?

Dear Forum, First of all thank you for being a member here. Second is that I would need some help on selecting an image for my present CT board. I need the followings: 1. hostapd with dnsmasq 2. g_mass_storage 3. sata 4.spidev or equivalent Preferably: 3. I would need free up SD card slot, so nand or SATA boot would be preferred. Which image is the best for me even if I need to recompile it? Thank you in advance.

  9. Hi, today I want to tell you, that I am very much upset about the result of the latest ARMBIAN Update! 10. Hi, first post here, so a bit of context: I have owned my Orange Pi PC for a while and have it set up running the latest Armbian with legacy kernel, serving files over AFP and SMB on the local network and running a Transmission daemon. I set it up with the desktop image but followed the instructions in the documentation to remove the desktop environment etc. I believe that this has left the VDPAU and Cedrus related files intact. As I am using it as a media server I thought it would be interesting to leverage the H3's capabilities of encoding H.264 to convert old DivX files into a more modern format, but none of the solutions I have found for this work correctly. It seems…

Hi All! Legacy kernel says: "Enabled audio devices: analog, 8 channel HDMI, spdif and I2S (if wired and enabled in HW configuration)" But there is no multi channel device listed in aplay -L , like surround51, surround71, etc. With "speaker-test -D default:sunxisndhdmi -c 6 -t wav", We got a downmixed stereo result. Receiver device is a BEM-182 Broadcast Monitor on its HDMI input - only 2 VU-meter band appears. Other test setup is the same receiver in SDI input mode with an HDMI to SDI converter. Specs of this adapter declares that it supports 8 channel, and this time 8 VU-meter band appears on the monitor so device is ready to receive multi-channel audio, but…

However, the same cubietruck works flawlessly with Debian Wheezy (2.6 updated to 4.5) and kernel 3.4.110. I checked the boot.cmd script and looked into cubietruck.bin - the standard settings would appear to identify the correct (HD) display resolution and to enable HDMI by default. When i boot up Armbian via the sdcard, i can't see the emmc. Am i doing something wrong, or do i need to make some changes to the .fex file? Hi, when I try to update my core the apt-get install operation fails. This is because the post-installation script creates a symbolic link as the boot partition does not support because she is fat. Also the boot is only possible with a uImage not zImage I think. 73. Dear all, we need some help from Banana Pi M2 (not that important), Cubox-i/UDOO and ODROID XU4 users. Please look through this Github issue and also have look how we currently handle IRQ redistribution on various board families (example 1 and example 2) Since irqbalanced on ARM is broken (and if it would work it's often counterproductive) assigning IRQs statically to specific CPU cores increases overall system performance slightly for free. We do this for A20 boards for years (dual core --> sending Ethernet to second CPU core), extended this on H3 boards a few months ago (quad core and somewhat complicated due to the count of different boards exposing diff…

When playing around in /sys/class/gpio I am able to export the GPIO pin that I'm looking for and change it's properties, direction, value etc. However these changes don't seem to appear on the physical IO pins. I noticed that some of the pins that I'm using are shared by UART 2, so I have disabled that in the FEX file but still no luck. 96. I am having a problem getting armbian 5.10 trusty to work on my pcduino3 nano lite. I tried both the Vanilla and Legacy kernels of the Trusty server flavor. With the Vanilla kernel I can see the boot process via usb console debug cable but when it gets to extracting kernel I lose output. With the Legacy Kernel via the console debug cable I get this error repeating: init: ttySAC2 main process ended If I try to ssh into root@<ip of pcduino> I get denied with password 1234 Any ideas what I am doing wrong? Thanks!

  97. When I do a ping, I get this error: cubie@cubieboard:~$ ping www.google.com ping: icmp open socket: Operation not permitted There is a discussion of this elsewhere: https://discuss.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/202374517-Linux-ping-command-fails-with-icmp-open-socket-Operation-not-permitted- Doing the following fixes things: root@cubieboard:/bin# chmod 4755 ping root@cubieboard:/bin# ls -tlr ping -rwsr-xr-x 1 root root 34752 Nov 8 2014 ping Then ping works: cubie@cubieboard:~$ ping www.google.com PING www.google.com (172.217.2.196) 56(84) bytes of data. 64 bytes from iad23s23-in-f4.1e100.net (172.217.2.196): icmp_seq=1 ttl=57 time=44.3 ms 64 bytes from iad23s…

  98. I keep my Lime2 updated with apt-get update/apt-get upgrade, but it does not upgrade the u-boot, that is still an old version: U-Boot SPL 2015.07-armbian-sun7i (Oct 11 2015 - 17:17:10) DRAM: 1024 MiB CPU: 912000000Hz, AXI/AHB/APB: 3/2/2 Because the network speed is not that fast, I suspect this could be solved with a more recent u-boot. How do I update the Lime2 bootloader to a recent u-boot without re-downloading an image and re-installing all my software and data? It looks like there is already a recent u-boot.bin file on the system... # ls -l /usr/lib/nand-sata-install/a20/bootloader/linux/ -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 152 May 23 22:35 linux.ini -rw-r--r-- 1 root…

  99. Hello, my Orange Pi Lite WiFi (RTL 8189FTV) @ armbian 5.13 for OPi Lite works well on 20 MHz WiFi channels however is not usable on 40 MHz channels. The signal strength vary between 79 to 95 % on 20 MHz channel(s) while from -1 to 36 % on 40 MHz channel(s) and the connection is not possible. It seems the driver still needs some more tweak. Other WiFi devices have no problems with 40 MHz. The router I use to connect to is Asus RT-N18U (Broadcom BCM47081A0). Thank you for your efforts vojtvop

  100. Started by ddkDIZ,

are the 1-wire modules built into legacy kernel ( 3.4.xx ) with debian jesse on an Olimex A20 LIME2 ( also the -SOM-4GB ) ? To use 1-Wire for DS18b20 temperature sensors on GPIO5 (from my fex file : gpio_pin_5 = port:PG04<0><default><default><default>) I added [w1_para] w1_used = 1 gpio = 5 to the aw_som_a20.fex file but I don't see any 1-wire modules or drivers loaded. I then used fex2bin ( in windows) to get the .bin file, copied it over and replaced the symlink from script.bin that was pointing to lime2.bin to point to my SSM_som.bin ( I changed the name of the edited one to my board name : SSM_som) Would I need to recompile the kernel t…
