I've tried many permutations of overlays and user-overlays and I can get /dev/spidev0.0 or /dev/spidev0.1 to be present, but I can't seem to get both simultaneously. I need both to migrate a project from an older Fedora distribution relying on modprobe to the latest version of Armbian. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated! I started with very recent Armbian 23.02 Bullseye XFCE downloaded from arbian.com/banana-pi-plus .. Armbian_23.02.2_Bananapi_bullseye_current_5.15.93_xfce_desktop.img and I added the following to the /boot/armbianEnv.txt file, as described in the Armbian page associated with the BananaPi M1+ .. f…

Hi, I finally have time to get back to my little project. I've been trying to get a working display with tinydrm for an ILI9341 base lcd. My setup works on OpenWrt with the older fbtft driver, but now I'd like to go back and try Armbian (current release is Jammy) on it. My first try with devicetree overlay seems functional but not correct. The display just show garbled data (see attached). What could be the problem with it? When starting orange pi, it happens that not all the RAM is available. That is, the orange pi has 2 GB of RAM and it is written that there is only 1 GB of RAM. This often happens when restarting using the reboot command. If you turn off the power and reconnect, this problem appears much less often. When 2 gb is available: https://paste.armbian.com/asatebupuw When 1 gb is available: https://paste.armbian.com/bohapeyahi Скрытый текст Скрытый текст

I have Orange Pi Plus 2 running Ubuntu Bionic with Armbian Linux 4.19.62-sunxi and I would like to upgrade it to recent Armbian build based on Ubuntu Linux Server and move OS to SSD connected to one of USB ports. I tried to use Armbian_22.08.2_Orangepiplus_jammy_current_5.15.69.img.xz but it does not connect to both HDMI and network. I tried unofficial command line interface images from product page and weekly released unsupported community builds. Behavior of all these builds is the same - no output to HDMI, no network connection. Finaly I found that recent image for Orange Pi Plus / Plus 2 which boots is Armbian_22.08.1_Orangepiplus_jammy_current_5.15.63.img.xz.…

Attention, whatever you do next is at your own risk! Fixed dts overlay file for Armbian 23.02.2 (attached). 1. Now the system can fall asleep and wake up by a timer (without an external RTC, provided that it is powered) or by pressing a button - while wifi connects itself (if there is an automatic connection) and the system continues to work as if nothing had happened without unnecessary loading. 2. As a bonus, I added an indication of reading from a flash card as a red LED (this can be turned off). 3. I also activated the host on the micro-usb connector - now you can connect something else via the otg adapter as a third USB connector. To apply t…

Hi gang. I am having a consistent problem changing the board over boot from the SD with the system on any kind of USB attached drive. The drive I want to put it on is a 1t ssb, which otherwise formats fine, over and over again, burns images on it fine (though rpi doesn't like how much power it grabs). But I duplicated the problem with a formatted SD card in a reader in the USB port as well. The same error message appeared. Now I have to say that I have read this post here: to see if there was anything unique to the H3 to accomplish this, but Igor said there to just follow the simple directions at Getting Started, which though dated, still work close…

Hi! I have banana pro, 5.15.93-sunxi #23.02.2 (bullseye), and use internal wifi adapter as a wifi client. The medium btw my client and ap is instable, there are frequent rate changes (6Mbps...54Mbps), so in order to get rid of it I need to set mandatory wifi rate no more than 6 Mbps. Give me the hint, please: 1. To set wifi rate strictly to 6 Mbps. I had tried iwconfig wlan0 rate 6M - I got "Error for wireless request "Set Bit Rate" (8B20) : SET failed on device wlan0 ; Operation not supported." . 2. To adjust 802.11n parameters (rate, number of spatial streams and so on). Thank you in advance, Aleksei

Hello! Brand new user here to the NanoPi Neo and even the forum. I'm planning to use a NanoPi Neo as hardware "interactor", the main idea is to connect a NanoPi Neo to a smartphone (Android or iOS), power the board from the USB cable and work in Host Mode to interact with de smartphone with libimobiledevice or adb. OTG does not support charging + data at the same time without a "special" OTG adapter. What I want to do is power the NanoPi by using the smartphone and even interact with it in host mode, like a regular computer will do, in simple terms, using a single cable, but getting power from it. Is this possible using NanoPi microUSB+OT…

Is there any way to get interrupts working on BPI M2 Berry/Ultra? I tried with raspbian and wiringPI/RPi.GPIO but there is a wait for support() “bug” which has been reported a while ago but no updates have been made in the thread. Currently Im running Armbian 22.11.00. If anyone has some experience or suggestion for a library/smth and is willing to share it that would be great. Thank you for your time.

Well it took me longer than i hoped but i have managed to forward port icenowys code for TVE on the H2+/H3 to mainline armbian. It seems to work totally fine, with a few caveats. First: Sample images of it in action -> https://imgur.com/a/vXQEM Second: the patch itself -> https://github.com/stevenj/h3-tve/tree/v0.0.11 Third a prebuilt image for Orange Pi Zero: -> https://github.com/stevenj/h3-tve/releases/tag/v0.0.11 Howto: just put the patch into userpatches for the sunxi-next kernel, and build. it should apply cleanly. Its for H2+/H3. I have only tried it on a orange pi zero, but it should work on all H2+/H3 boards. …

I'm a newbie. Got the NanoPi R1 that sports a UART but no Video Output. Now when I want to read the output of the serial console I need a 3-wire cable and a converter, that much I know. Where is this configured on the armbian NanoPiR1 image (on my raspberry Pi I just checked and found the file /boot/cmdline.txt with that settings, in my case it's 115200) Why is the baud rate nowhere documented? On the download page https://www.armbian.com/nanopi-r1/ it is stated that "serial console is enabled on UART1, which is exposed on chasis" , but no hint about which speed to use. There neither is any info about the baud rate on…

I have an Orange Pi PC Plus (Armbian Bullseye CLI) that I'm using as a NUT server connecting to a Cyberpower UPS. Every 30 minutes the driver stops working and upon further investigation, this looks to be a USB connection issue. Is there some power-saving mode that would cause this or any other known issue? After running the armbian-install program and selecting option "1 'Boot from SD - system on SATA, USB or NVMe'" the program transfers the contents of the SD card to the drive (SATA or NVMe). And it works. The problem occurs after booting - a message appears about the device being unable to mount /media/mmcboot . And indeed - the contents of /media/mmcboot and /boot are empty. The problem turns out to be the contents of the /etc/fstab file generated on the SATA/NVMe drive. The mount point /media/mmcboot has a only UUID value, but the text "UUID=" is missing before the value. After manually adding it, everything starts fine. If someone could lean in and correct th…

Hi, I've got a pair of OrangePi 3 LTS boards running the CLI only install of Debian Bullseye with a kernel of 5.15.89-sunxi64 and all the latest updates applied. But when I run the 'top' command, I always see a load of 1.0 or higher. Even when the system is completely idle. I'm running the system of the eMMC, not SDcards. I realize that this is really more of a cosmetic issue, but I was hoping someone had a suggestion on how to fix it. The system is mostly idle, it's a test box or remote management system, so it's not really critical, and the load doesn't go high anyway. Cheers, John

Hello, I'm using a Banana Pi P2-Zero based on H3 and I want to get Ethernet running. To no avail so far... When building the image, I use this parameters: BOARD=bananapim2zero BRANCH=current RELEASE=jammy BUILD_MINIMAL=no BUILD_DESKTOP=no I use the customize-image.sh script, but I don't change anything related to the drivers (or so I think). There are no patches, overlays or anything like that. I saw this topic but this solution doesn't help: I also tried something like this but it didn't help either: /dts-v1/; /plugin/; / { compatible = "allwinner,sun8i-h3"; fragment@0 { target = <&emac>…

Hey, I recently decided to give the 22.11 a try on my M1, but I can't get my sata SSD to be the system root and boot again. 18.04 it worked for me with the exact same setup. I used this: https://docs.armbian.com/User-Guide_Getting-Started/#how-to-install-to-emmc-nand-sata-nvme-usb went with armbian-install only option for me was boot from SD and system on sata. But after the preparation of the ssd, the reboot always runs into emergency mode with not really good hints how to solve, or what even the issue is. Any tips or hints are welcomed.

I had successfully installed Armbian_2022.08.8_Bananapi_bullseye_CLI_5.15.74 on my M1 and copied the system to an SSD which I had attached to the SATA port. Then I had updated the UUID in armbianEnv.txt and running the system from SSD was working fine. The system was running headless in my closet for about 2 months, and I even had no problems to remotely restart the device until today, when it did not come back up after a reboot. I took it from the closed and hooked it to a monitor just to see the following error messages: ** Bad device specification mmc 0 ** Couldn't find partition mmc 0 I suspected a broken SD card but a check on my Ubuntu de…

Hello everyone, I am new to the world of Orange Pi 3 LTS 1.4 and Armbian. I have very recently installed this os on my Orange, it turns out to work almost everything correctly except Wifi and bluetooth. It is really important for me to get Wifi working for various projects I have in mind and I find armbian very reliable and supported. When I try to connect the Network Manager interface returns: On the net I found various discussions about this but no real solution. Does this happen to you as well? It seems not to recognize the wifi chip. Below is the armbianmonitor: https://paste.armbian.com/iteheqokov …

Good morning, I am using a version compiled with your script for Banana Pi M2 Berry to build a network HiFi streamer, and I am satisfied with it. I have installed LMS and Squeezelite, and everything is working great. Now I would like to add an Innomaker HAT AMP that has a 12V power connector that powers the Raspberry Pi at 5V via GPIO. The GPIO of the Banana Pi M2 Berry is declared compatible with the Raspberry Pi3, but I would like to be sure before frying the board in case it is not. Can you please confirm the total compatibility of the GPIO connector of the Banana Pi with that of the Raspberry Pi? Thank you for your response.

Current build is working after I fixed up the repository and the wired network configuration - learnt a fair amount in one afternoon! Secondly, is it possible using armbian-config to switch to stable repository and a stable kernel and reasonably expect it to still work? Many thanks,

Hello, I'm using the Lime2 with 22.11(Desktop) + latest Kernel & it works like a charm. I'm currently toying around with the Mia E-Ink Display (Onyx Boox) and the display goes blank during loading the Kernel. Could the problem be that the refresh rate is not supported? Does anybody know a way to make it work? best

Hello, Is there a guide / tutorial on making Kodi run with hardware acceleration enabled on Armbian on Orange PI PC Plus? e.g. like how LibreELEC does it. I have found a bunch of information on different sites and forums, but I can't put it all together. What I know so far: * Apparently the HW-accelerated decoding is supposed to be done on Kodi's side via VDPAU API * The Kodi build in Armbian repos does not have built-in support for libvdpau (?) * ffmpeg, the video decoding library used by Kodi, doesn't support Allwinner GPU out of the box and needs patching * Kodi needs to be re-compiled with the patched ffmpeg vers…

Hi! I ended up here: My Banana M1 was working well, connecting to a monitor I was able to see it working. Hello armbianers ! Armbian 22.11.1 Bullseye with Linux 5.15.80-sunxi on a banana pi m1 I've connected a lipo battery to my bpi m1, and now when I try to shutdown -h 0, it ends up in a kernel panic and instead of shutting down it remains powered up. Is there anything I can do to fix that? I'd know how to shut it down talking to the axp209 via i2c, but I'm not sure how/where to put that, or if that would be or not the proper way to go. Thanks, George.

Hi. After 2 years uptime it disconnected from wifi and was unable to reconnect even after reboot. I suspect my AC adapter has degraded. Can this SBC measure the voltage? Upd: saw this post: https://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/questions/112122/wifi-not-connecting-depending-on-power-supply I use NetworkManager and when it starts it usually cannot connect to wifi saying that the pre-shared key is wrong, marking the connection as failed and not re-trying. In particular, the log contained a failed "asking for new key" message. Re-starting the service or manually activating the connection worked. As a workaround I created a *.conf file in …

Hi Everyone, Is there anything additional required to enable better performance improvements (kernel patch for TXTS and RXTS are set to 3 each see below link) on a Banana PI running Armbian V21 / V22 ? I have updated the bootloader, and OS, and the performance is still abysmally poor. Mechanical or SSD drive connected to on board SATA yields a whopping 2.7-10 MB/sec write speed using dd with a large block size, or with the iozone tool ~5 upto ~45 for larger block sizes. Still a very far cry from the ~120 after the kernel patch applied in ~2019 => https://forum.armbian.com/topic/10352-a20-sata-write-speed-improvement/ …

Someone has any experience changing the A20 to A20-H, our provider offers to us this new version, but I'm afraid to be software incompatible.

My Opi3 has been running armbian for over 2 years (edge kernels & usually fully up-to-date). I have been using eMMC & I noticed an apparent slowdown about 6 months ago. As it performs cron-based tasks and is a stats collector, this performance was not noticable but doing a manual BIG dist-upgrade, it seems to take forever (20 minutes to do what should be under 5 minutes). If I run "mmc extcsd read /dev/mmcblk1", the results tell me that the eMMC is at least 90% used whatever that really means. Is this a sign of imminent failure ? hdparm shows read results of 17 MB/s which is actually slower than my alternative SD card boot device and nearly 1/10th …

I have a solar application for PC, so my goal is to reduce the power consumption in idle as much as possible. How would one go about this with the latest armbian distros?

Good afternoon. The problem is indicated in the title. The computer is connected to my monitor via HDMI and the screen resolution is only 1024x768. Which is inconvenient to use. I saw a similar topic raised on the official forum of a single-payer in 2019, but no one answered there. Is this a problem of the computer itself or the Linux kernel or drivers?
