Amlogic CPU Boxes

I have one Beeling GT1 with Balbes150 Armbian_20.10_Arm-64_buster_current_5.9.0.img and meson-gxm-beelink-gt1.dtb. Only get Eth0 or Wlan0 to connect if I go to Android and then reboot with USB pen inserted. If reboot directly to Armbian with previous boot to Android, get an error with Failed to raise. What can be done to insure Eth0 or Wlan0 will allways start at boot?

Hello everyone, I have a Beelink GS king X android box with 2 hard drives. I want to be able to install a jellyfin server to share and synchronize my videos, audios and images on my other devices. On these other devices, I will use either Kodi or Corelec for playback. Is it possible and reliable to install Armbian on Beelink GS King X to be able to install a Jellyfin server, but also a samba sharing server to share all my files? Or should I rather opt for another CoreElec or Manjaro type solution for example?

I follow the method here: My box can now see the wifi, but there are a few quirks: 1. It sees only some of the 5Ghz band. For example, it can't see my own 5Ghz AP, but can see my neighborhood 5G APs 2. when connected with either 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz band, and I did the speed test. It is fine with the download speed, but the upload speed is just less than 1Mbps, always. Thus, the connection is virtually useless, e.g. I can vnc to it, but it shows black screen because the screen can't be uploaded to my vnc client due to the upload speed problem. I'm trying to boot from USB using Armbian, specifically LibreELEC, but it doesn't boot, it boots to Armbian, Armbian detects the USB but when i disconnect it and I connect it again, it turns off then turn on but to Armbian again The thing is, how can I boot from USB? Hello there I've installed Armbian on my MXQ Pro 4K 5G TV box's eMMC, but now I want to upgrade to a better external storage. I've flashed Armbian on it and done the usual configuration but I always boot into the eMMC's Armbian. I've read that one way to fix this is to restore Android with the Amlogic USB Tool, but I found that my board has no reset button, not even hidden inside the jacks. Hi all, I have this Amlogic S905x2 (ddr3l) android tv box which I'm trying to boot Armbian on. Firstly, I was having issue with the default bootloader always booting into android, no matter if I used the sd card or usb. So then I lifted the emmc chip, in hope that it will then choose to boot from the sd card. However, I failed to notice that BL2 is stored in the emmc, and as you guessed, I need BL2 to boot into linux. Now I've read that you can use USB burning tool to send and start BL2 from RAM. Hello everyone, I tried to erased data from settings menu to start fresh again and prepare this old box not used to give it to another family member. Probleme is that the process reset to factory was shut down before it ended (was taking ages).. So now it doesn't boot properly. Hello guys, it's day i'm trying everything to let my S905x TV Box run Armbian but i keep struggle at toothpick multiboot. Android recovery stays with the green android with the ! out of its tummy and hang with the "Cannot load volume /misc!" error. I opened the log and find out "failed to mount /dev/block/mmcblk0 on /sdcard by read-only (Device or resource busy)". I have an M8 S802 box that I am trying to install armbian to. I am using 5,44 Ubuntu bionib 3.10.108 server. I can boot with the SD card, but when I try to install to emmc I get a message saying cannot parse config file '/etc/fw_env.config' invalid argument at the end of install. After this, the TV box will only boot from SD. I tried copying the fw_env.config file from my backup of android, but I still get the same results.

Cinnamon desktop environment is bugged for me, both my a95x r2 (amlogic s905w) and a95x f3 slim (amlogic s905x3) showing no display, blank screen like no input after loging in. My suggestion for desktop ubuntu based varian, better change it to Mate desktop. The armbian desktop cinnamon varian based on ubuntu is now work for me after switching to mate desktop

After having seen the continuous hardware changes made by the manufacturers of the cheap Android TX boxes, I would like to understand if it is possible to recover the firmware, therefore the factory Android image compatible with the Amlogic USB Burning tool. After booting from the SD with the armbian-ddbr command, I managed to create a compressed file with the factory Android image but this file does not work with the Amlogic burning tool but only with the armbian-ddbr (restore) command. Every time I boot Armbian on my tv box, there is always a 5 second prompt on startup similar to entering startup options on Windows. I'm not entirely sure what it's for, but i'm assuming it's a barebones u-boot command line. The problem is, I don't need it, and it adds a significant amount of time when booting. Does anyone know how to remove it entirely and to boot directly into the kernel? I'm using a Tanix 3 mini with Armbian 5.9.0

Hi folks, I have an old S905X Box that I want to install Armbian on but am completely lost - I tried following this page https://forum.armbian.com/topic/12162-single-armbian-image-for-rk-aml-aw-aarch64-armv8/ But it talks of things like editing uEnv.txt but I cant find that file. Can somebody talk me through, step by step how to install Armbian on an S905x box? I can boot from SDCard as I have one formatted with Coreelec but Android is still on the internal hardware.

It is now 2 weeks I run linux-image-current-meson64 with no problems. I manage to get rid of tearing while playing video with vlc by using wayland/weston instead of X11/openbox (picom did not help). While playing video cpu goes from around 40% in X11 to 20% with weston \o/. You can find vlcd.service, scripts and config files in attached files. I managed to boot Armbian from the SD card using the reset button. I played with it for a while and all seemed very good. So I went ahead and executed the /root/install-aml-s905-emmc.sh script. In general it seemed to work. Took a huge amount of time, especially in copying USR. But it did complete. However, when trying to boot thereafter all I get is a black screen for many minutes. Use the image to generic tvb for s905 with debian 11. to configure the boot I use the KII PRO dtb : /boot/extlinux/extlinux.conf The box is running very well , however I have two issue with it. Hi, I’ve installed Armbian to my Vero4k+ and all works fine except wired ethernet, the thing is it kind of works, but when I use different dtb files: meson-gxl-s905d-vero4k-plus.dtb wifi works, bluetooth works eth doesn’t, eth0 interface is UP but can’t get IP or set one, meson-gxl-s905d-p230.dtb wifi works, bluetooth doesn’t, eth generally works but when testing with iperf3 in server mode it’s great cca 930mbps 0 errors, but in client mode it depends of OS (ubuntu or debian) and kernel (5 or 6) used from 1-350mbps but with looooot of errors (cca. 67000 for 10 sec test) and if I limit link speed to 100mbps it doesn’t change much, also lot of errors, if…

I've been using this setup for a few good weeks without issues, same powered hub and everything, however after accidentally unplugging the server and being unable to boot I decided to reimage the SD Card and now the box refuses to detect my external 1TB 2.5" HDD (powered hub). In at least a couple of occasions, my AMLogic box failed to boot after an attempted upgrade of `armbian-bsp-cli-aml-s9xx-box-current`. I did not keep a detailed report of the first time it happened, but at the time I am pretty confident it was due to the issue addressed in PR #6287. Now, it happened again, I believe following PR #6659. Maybe @SteeMan you can take a look?

Hello there, I have a problem. I've just received my new MXQ Pro 4K 5G, which was listed on Aliexpress as having a RK3228A. However, when I received it, I noticed the multitool SD card I had flashed wouldn't boot. I got Cpu-Z and noticed my board has an Amlogic p212 instead of the Rockchip I was promised. What should I do? Is there a way to run Armbian on this bootleg TV box?

I discovered this counterfeitby accident because I couldn't boot any armbian image for S905W soc and I accidentally tried the multitool and it started right away 1GB/8GB version and not 2GB/16GB. So be very careful what you buy and if possible send it back to these dishonest Chinese sellers!

I installed ambian in this tv box to run klipper for my 3d printer, but its been a years since I last used it and I totally forgot what was the user I created. I really didn't want to wipe the SD card because of my 3d printer's config files etc. Is there anything I can do to retrieve the user and password? Thanks.

Hello I newly installed a community armbian image to my Alfawise H96 ProPlus TV box. All seems to be working except sshd. I found out, that is because of not existing /run/sshd directory. After creating this directory the systemctl start ssh wokrs, but until the next reboot. The image I used is Armbian_23.8.0-trunk.51_Aml-s9xx-box_lunar_edge_6.2.16.img. Thanks

I fried SOIC-8 IC (Probably power management) on H96 Max X2 PCB (I-BOX TV) by applying 12V If anyone (@Thang?) has a board like that, please take a close up of that chip on the back side. BTW, there is native console available on pretty much all Armbian boards, that lets you see linux messages before they appear on the HDMI port. It helps to understand the bootloader sequence, u-boot sequence and gives you root access.

I was trying to follow guidance from nexbox-a95x-armbian and after a search found the debian & Ubunt images (https://www.armbian.com/uefi-arm64/) which I downloaded and wrote to a USB using Rufus (also balenaEtcher). I then tries to look at the FAT32 partition contents but the GPT was corrupt - tried many windows tools and Linux.I "repaired" the GPT using Linux tools but then the FAT32 filesystem was corrupt. Hi, I am using the Debian from below location. Running Containerized Home Assistant on my H96Max X3. After I started using that distribution instead of the very old balbes one, I have started to get crashes about every 5-7 days or so. Did slow down CPU in case it was heat etc, but no luck. Any ideas how I can troubleshoot this ? It just freezes and becomes unresponsive on network (ethernet and Wifi). I have not tried with keyboard/screen. I do have a WiFi power switch connected to it, so one of my other devices can power cycle it, but that is not the right solution. Tried a few upgrades. I want to highlight the work done here, where the dtb modified to be "meson-gxm-q200-mod.dtb" which works well, except that the OS cannot be moved to eMMC. Can I check if this dtb can be the default in the device selection list (203 is the number for this device) . Currently thr default dtb is meson-gxm-octopus-planet.dtb, which does not have the wifi and bluettoth working. Also, can the mainline boot file can be dafaulted to "u-boot-s905x-x912x.bin" file? I have an OTT TV Box, model ABOX-A1 ( 1G + 8G, S905X ). It is running Armbian 23.11.1 bookworm. How can I have hardware video decoding? Hardware video decoding support seems present in the 6.1.63-current-meson64 kernel. It seems only the V4L2 M2M API is present. Some firmware seems missing. I was getting "meson-vdec c8820000.video-codec: Direct firmware load for meson/vdec/gxl_h264.bin failed with error -2" in dmesg. I don't know what package I need to install. I was thinking maybe firmware-linux-nonfree, but that conflicts with armbian-firmware due to firmware-ralink. I'm trying to follow the SteeMan's Installation Instructions for TV Boxes with Amlogic CPUs. I'm want to install Armbian_23.11.1_Aml-s9xx-box_bookworm_current_6.1.63_cinnamon_desktop on a Tanix TX3 with a S905X3. Looking at other posts I think I got extlinux.conf correct but I can't find any ext files and I don't where exactly they are supposed to be. The boot folder in root is empty and there's not boot folder in the boot partition. No idea what tag is relevant so I choose one at random.
