While I know a lot of boards don't have support for PCIe the RockPro64 does. I'm using it to drive a 10gb NIC (even though it's limited by the number of available lanes to around 8Gb/s). Armbian doesn't provide any native support for 10Gb cards so I've been having to build kernels with support for the Intel and Myricom cards. Is there any possibility of including support (either as modules or built in) in the future? Thanks for the consideration, Chris

To run 32bit rustc you need enabled cp15 barrier emulation. (This is removed in ARMV8 arch and needed to emulated by the kernel) Please reenable like in legacy kernel 4.9: CONFIG_ARMV8_DEPRECATED=y CONFIG_SWP_EMULATION=y CONFIG_CP15_BARRIER_EMULATION=y CONFIG_SETEND_EMULATION=y

This is more of an idea or feedback than a requirement. I know you guys are struggling with community engagement and support/donations, and I plan to help myself because I love what you do and find it exciting. I work for a company in the industrial automation field and last year a small revolution picked up. At the SPS in Nürnberg/Germany (the biggest European fair in our field) last November, a ton of industrial hardware constructors unveiled their new ARM-based compact devices running Linux: essentially modified SBCs. This is really unusual because industrial automation has been traditionally more oriented toward Microsoft. But thanks to different technolog…

Hello gents, I have been out of the loop for quite some time... Therefore did not update my armbian dev env either for quite a while, was a bit "surprised" after a " git pull " most boards went to CSC, but read the story why... Anyway I was wondering rgd the "new" OP1 Rockpi4+ boards, if same image can be used for these boards ? Most likely a new entry to compile, armbian building script, will appear sooner or later. Also noticed current kernel 5.16 holds commits for 4A+ and 4B+ : Rockchip ... Add RK3399 ROCK Pi 4A+ board commit Add RK3399 ROCK Pi 4B+ board commit ... In +/- two months like to start a PoE ROCK …

Could you please add support for NanoPi R2C Plus (https://wiki.friendlyelec.com/wiki/index.php/NanoPi_R2C_Plus#Install_OS). I tried the R2S image and it failed to boot; I believe due to network hardware being different on this board (using YT8521S)

After upgrading to buster (great!!) and installing desktop on my HC1, the standard procedure of starting a VNC server and using Real VNC viewer from a Mac ran into errors. I tried the following alternative solutions to get to the desktop - xrdp and Microsoft Remote Desktop (Mac) - tigervnc-scraping-server and Real VNC Viewer (Mac) --> No support for clipboard transfer, keyboard support awful and incomplete (missing # and | and so on) x11vnc with Real VNC Viewer (Mac) solved both issues, except keyboard autorepeat. So I strongly suggest adding x11vnc prominently as an alternative to xrdp.

Hi Folks! I think this would be great for testing Anbox easily on armbian. We are linux users (and we hate android), but in order to get ARM Linux attractive as desktop we may have to offer anbox. the kernel modules have problems on latest kernels so would be great to have them included already. maybe that makes the kernel "too big" and isn't acceptable, but that's up to you to consider it or not. best regards, Salvador.

I am running armbian on a rock64 with a usb bluetooth adapter. Adding bluetooth devices with the blueman app is very hit-or-miss for me, mostly misses. I installed the blueberry app, which I have had good luck with in the past, and device connection has been great. Every device connects on the first try. Blueberry is easy to install because it has no arch, and it also appears to be relatively light on resources. So I would like to suggest that the devs consider including it in armbian by default.

It can be useful to have a system that is able to use the usb devices right from the first login, on a desktop configuration. Adding the support of U2F usb security keys is straight forward on a system running udev already, it's just a text file. I do not know how much it can be useful on server and headless installations, but again the udev rules file if tiny. 70-u2f.rules

I've been noticing how troublesome that is to install the "free" gpu/vulkan packages on a distro and optimize accordingly... and on how proprietary packages are decently optimized as is. For instance, heres a video that shows someone running a switch emulator at a decent framerate on a RK3588 cpu with proprietary packages installed... while it is, well... borderline impossible to run with "free" gpu/vulkan packages. (I've tried following several guides trying to mimic the same experience as the video shows with "free" gpu/vulkan support... and I could barely make it run at a reasonable resolution. It was comically borked, to not say the least.) Even if I'm com…

As an ansible neophyte, I'm looking through the 'ansible facts' trying to figure out how to positively identify an Armbian system, with the goal of contributing a patch to the k3s project to improve support for Armbian. Toward the end of the k3s-ansible playbook, they try to write some kernel options to a file in /boot. According to the comments, they've identified by Armbian machine as Ubuntu. At any rate, Armbian seems to want these flags in /boot/armbianEnv.txt, and the file ansible wants to modify doesn't exist so the update aborts: fatal: [t4]: FAILED! => {"changed": false, "msg": "Destination /boot/firmware/cmdline.txt does not exist !", "…

I've noticed that the AppArmor kernel config was switched off from kernels 4.19.x onwards. I've searched the forum and the github issues but haven't found any problems related AppArmor. I'm using the current kernel for cubox (5.4.x) that I've compiled by adding AppArmor config back, everything works as it should for a headless system. Would it be possible to add the AppArmor kernel config back? I can help with testing on the following boards: cubox, olimex lime2, cubietruck

Hi there! I've tried your image on Two Trees SK1 3d printer, it has a custom OEM of the SKIPR card. There's no HDMI so I can't see what happens. But putting an ethernet cable it doesn't get DHCP address. The card has also a wifi that I can't identify, not visible with lcpci or lsusb. I put a picture of the card and a schema.

The penguin on the desktop background is nice, but maybe a bit too generic. How about a female cartoon Panda, or something like that? Panda bears are found in China, and many/most of these ARM boards were made in China. Her name would be "Armanda the Panda". On second thought, maybe the people at LattePanda might feel they are the only ones allowed to use a Panda...

Would it be possible to include VHD versions of the Armbian for PC? I was able to convert the image file over to VHD, but it would have been nice to have it available as a download. This is for use in VirtualBox or other virtual machine (like XCP-NG for my use case). Alternate being an ISO installer, but that would probably take a bunch of work to get going.

Hello, please move this thread to the correct place in case I misplaced it. Does the armbian image for generic Intel/AMD x86 also support PCs with the old BIOS (non-UEFI)? I ask because I have a pretty old Notebook from 2013 which still works good as general purpose Internet or Office workhorse and this only has the old BIOS. The armbian image for the Intel/AMD looks pretty nice and I would like to install it no the Notebook eventually when Windows 10 runs out. If it does not support this, is there an image for the old BIOS? Thanks! Best regards, Udo

Hi, I have found a RaspAP-webgui very useful if for example the device is deployed to an end user. Mostly is needed to set etherenet address DHCP or static. Rpi can work as access point and wireless client at the same time. This can be used for example to connect to the internet and sync RTC clock, or remote access through VPN - if for example one uses his phone to establish a hotspot. Now , I believe that armbian-config is also a powerful tool for configuration, but not helpful for end user who can be a noob. A web based GUI that could be used to configure network resources only would be appreciated. Just network, not all the delicate stuff as …

On my odroid hc2 with armbian/bullseye I found some of the logs (both in /var/log and /var/log.hdd) empty, while they should have some contens (i.e. afpd.log, kern.log, user.log, ...). The empty files all have the timestamp of a run of armbian-ramlog at a recent reboot. In armbian-ramlog.log I found this for the run that created the empty files: rsync: [receiver] write failed on "/var/log/journal/0d4b1c13b9a14b6d9c746402b7d7ef6f/user-1000@0005d37f46f9961b-23c015a66b68d086.journal~": No space left on device (28) rsync error: error in file IO (code 11) at receiver.c(378) [receiver=3.2.3] rsync: [sender] write error: Broken pipe (32) Seems tha…

@lanefu, @TonyMac32 I am looking for support of native english speakers. I just wanted to install RPi-Monitor, listed all options to find it: armbianmonitor --help and saw this : armbianmonitor -M provides simple CLI monitoring - fixed-line output armbianmonitor -N provides simple CLI network monitoring - fixed-line output So, I thought what has been repaired (fixed) ? So, I tested the two options -m & -M and I saw, -m is with history, not scrolling rather new-line feed -M is dynamically refreshing in line (static), (fix, but not fixed) In short, I think the wording is a bit bumpy. Hello, I'm setting up my Odroids with Ansible and managed to automated almost everything. I just got a HC1 and read on the download page that I should load optimized board configuration in armbian-config. Sadly, armbian-config seems to be an interactive only tool. Are there ways to automate armbian-config? The easiest way would be command line arguments. I also tried to understand what the DTB menu options actually do from the source code but was unsuccessful. My best idea now is to use expect, but that doesn't seem stable: #!/usr/bin/expect set timeout 10 spawn armbian-config sleep 5 # Enter System menu send "\n" sleep 5 # Enter …

Was wondering if there is a utility similar to the Khadas Krescue boot utility that allows one to backup/install emcc images?? I found it very useful to backup my Khadas images as well as installing different os. The description is as follows: 'Krescue is an extremely small (21mb) operating system that you can boot directly from a micro-SD card or your EMMC. It is a “Swiss Army knife”, and you can use it to perform a variety of low-level SBC maintenance tasks. Most notable of which are backing-up your EMMC by dumping a raw-compressed .img.gz, and rapidly installing a new OS via flashing a .img.gz back into the EMMC. Krescue can download and install OS i…

I have a rockpro64 that i use as a NAS. It recently started to behave unexpectedly and after investigating the issue i realised that the RAM has defective block. after searching for a solution (because i'd like not to waste 80$ to get a new board and my BGA soldering skill are far from whats needed to change the RAM module) there seems to be one that is called badram. It basically tell the kernel not to use a set of known bad addresses. saddly this is not a standard package but a kernel patch made for debian and ubuntu that i have no idea how to install on ARMBIAN. The BananaPi CM4 doesn't play well with a number of third party base boards in that often, USB does not work on them. Usually, that is because the third party base board designer connected the USB hub IC to an SOC OTG port without connecting a line to switch the OTG port into host mode. The problem was demonstrated at least with the Waveshare CM4 Base Board B and the MCUZone POE baseboard. In the Banana Pi forums, Sinovoip engineer "August" posted a DTBO for Ubuntu 20.04 which solves the issue by forcing host mode. Below is the DTBO decompiled to DTS. I would like to request that this overlay be updated for the Armbian kernel and included as an optional overlay into …

Hello...I successfully installed Trixie on the BBAI-64. It is a beagleboard.org board from earlier in the 2020s. https://www.beagleboard.org/blog/2025-04-18-armbian-support-is-here Anyway, I was wondering if there was some way to handle installing and configuring Wifi access to the BBAI-64 that anyone around here knew of currently. Ethernet works. I can get online. Also, there is a set up in `armbian-config` that may allow OctoPrint to be installed. It seems one needs to add support for Docker first. The Docker install from Trixie is not available on kernel 6.6.x so far. Seth P.S. Um, I understand that some people now are s…

Hi Moderators, I noticed in the past some requests were made already in regards to supporting i.MX platforms. This did not work out are there is no budget for such developments ($) We plan to bring an i.MX93 and i.MX95 board to the market early next year, and support for Armbian is one of my requirements Would it be possible to treat this as a paid request to get 2 boards supported by the Armbian releases? let me know where i should post this, if not in the right section

The reason MX Linux performed so well is, because, it uses some core components from Antix Linux Distro, which is optimised. based on Debian's "stable" branch. MX Linux is a cooperative venture between the antiX and former MEPIS communities, using the best tools and talents from each distro. It is a midweight OS designed to combine an elegant and efficient desktop with simple configuration, high stability, solid performance and medium-sized footprint.

Can we remove the downloading of Linaro and other build dependencies from the build process? That would save so much time and bandwidth. Most of us are able to obtain and install the Linaro and other dependencies for our build systems on our own. Let's figure out how to avoid doing this on each and every clean build of Armbian. I have lots of bandwidth and the build doesn't even start after it takes ten to twenty minutes downloading these packages. Thanks, and I appreciate any comments on this request.

Can we stop building modules for hardware that doesn't exist on the target device? My observation is that we seem to be building the entire kernel tree, but correct me if I'm wrong. Let's see if we can only build hardware that actually exists on the device instead of building everything. For example, my Pine64 doesn't even have WiFi but dozens of WiFi drivers are built. Same with my Orange Pi 3 LTS, it has BlueTooth and WiFi, but doesn't need the several dozen other BlueTooth and WiFi devices built into its kernel modules directory. Thanks!

Dear developers! Could you please consider possibility to change default kernel config, used in release versions of Armbian, so it enable to forcefully unload of kernel modules ( to do this config option CONFIG_MODULE_FORCE_UNLOAD needs to be enabled). This is seldom but regular needs for me and I beleive for many others in case of external hardware malfunctions, for example. Previosly I have used selfcompiled version of Armbian 5.15 where named option was enabled and anything was fine. Now I have upgraded to Armbian 21.08.1 Buster by installing release version of it because it seems dramatically more complicated to compile by myself. Now in …

Hello, While there are a bunch of vnc and x11 options to access the box remotely, I found chrome remote desktop as a very useful tool to integrate access to different hosts wherever you are. chrome remote desktop 'host' runs on many platforms including, of course, debian. Installation does not work because package gets downloaded from Google directly and it is compiled for x86. The .deb package can't therefore be installed on armbian. Any chance chrome remote desktop could be compiled for armbian? I believe source code is under Chromium project but I could not find it. Ideas?

Hello, I would like to propose a change to the default kernel config for the r4s. Currently in .config # # USB HID support # CONFIG_USB_HID=y CONFIG_HID_PID=y CONFIG_USB_HIDDEV=y This should be altered to CONFIG_USB_HID=m This change has been requested previously for other boards: here and is also explained properly. To summarise : the change would allow those using APCUPSD to communicate with their APC UPS device. TiA!

Hello, I would like to propose a change to the default kernel config for the Odroid XU4. This could *possibliy* done across all kernels: config-4.14.111-odroidxu4: CONFIG_USB_HID=m # CONFIG_HID_PID is not set CONFIG_USB_HIDDEV=y Basically it enables the USB_HID as a module instead of being compiled in and then enables the USB_HIDDEV which in my case the APCUPSD needs the option in order to communicate with the APC UPS device. From what I have read others have run into this problem and this would fix it. Does not seem there would be impact on anything else. Is it worth while making a pull request for this for the XU4 and/or others?

Hi Guys, Big fan of Armbian. I've used it on an old Cubieboard2, and recently I've built a NAS with Odroid-HC2 and am using it there too. This is the first opportunity I've had trying transmission-daemon on Linux with a 'real' workload of several hundred torrents. And as it turns out good old'n'stable Transmission 2.9x has a memory leak. It uses ~45 MB on Windows, and ~45 MB on Linux with v.3.0 from testing. But v.2.94 has climbed steadily from 50 MB up to ~350 MB within several days of use. This is a known issue (https://github.com/transmission/transmission/issues/313) that affects and has been affecting Debian stable. Memory leaks were plugged in…

Hi, Context systemd's cloud-init.target and armbian-firstrun.service will be started concurrently (both are wanted by multi-user.target). Both will try to create SSH host keys by default: - armbian-firstrun will always delete SSH host keys and then generate new ones - cloud-init.target (by default) will always delete SSH host keys and then generate new ones. Problem When one must run armbian-firstrun and cloud-init, there is no deterministic ordering between the 2 files execution and therefore no one can guarantee which will be last to setup host keys. In my current scenario, host keys are explicitly setup in clo…

Hi here, as a hobby project I forked Armbian repo to add support of someone "new" hardware, mostly around 3D printing and mostly because no support from the vendor side. At this moment I have following almost independent components: a kernel module for ST7796 (LCD controller connected via SPI and working as frame buffer module/device) a patch for HDMI configuration to support MKS IPS50 screen (800x480, 5:3 aspect ration with some weird EDID) configuration with related patches for MKSPI, SKIPR and a few derivatives boards + some DTS overlay for one related/specific use case. It's a "Renegade ROC-RK3328-CC" based board(s) which wa…

And if so, should it be included in Armbian - perhaps on a first-run even throwing up a big warning to the op? Kudos to you guys for putting all that work into SD card knowledge and programming into Armbian in the first place. If you curl -I http://apt.armbian.com over and over again, you will receive a 302 redirect to what seems to be a random mirror. I am wondering how I can help add some sophistication to that randomness. As someone downloading updates from the US, it's a big exercise of patience to download at a rate of 20-60 KBps. As each package request goes to the redirector every time (since it's not a 301 redirect), some packages download at a good rate but plenty are very slow for me. In contrast, when I download an Armbian image from bittorrent, I can get 9MBps. I know that everything here is provided for free and I am grateful! I am asking how I can help make this…

Under Ubuntu when you install using BTRFS and Debian when you install to BTRFS using the Calamares live GUI installer, both installers create a subvolume called @home for the /home directory and another subvol called @ for the rest of the filesystem. This layout enables users to use timeshift to easily (and automatically with timeshift-autosnap-apt) create BTRFS snapshots and restore them using the command line or the timeshift GUI and restore their OS whilst optionally keeping users files stored under /home intact. I would like to see the armbian installation script configure BTRFS in this same manner.

I built an image for SDCARD on the rockchip3568 board using the project from here https://github.com/armbian/build This framework creates an image for SDCARD, consisting of two partitions: 1 - boot (Fat32 - 256 MiB) 2 - root file system (ext4) (all remaining capacity on SDCARD, I use a 16GiB card) I need a different, custom, file system partition. How can I make three partitions, for example of these sizes: 1. boot - 256MiB 2. root - 2GiB 3. work - the entire remaining capacity of the SDCARD while the size of the image file is not all 16GiB, but 256MiB (boot) + 2Gib (root) + 256MiB (work) = 2.5GiB and the last partition …

Hello, I need to create images for multiple boards (rpi4b, rpi5b, rock3a, rock5b, orangepi5, orangepi-plus, nanopct6 and khadas-vim4) for a Kubernetes cluster running ceph and cilium, hence I need some new modules and parameters in the kernel. I created a simple playbook that changes the parameters in build/config/kernel/linux-* which works. What does not work is calling compile.sh with the required parameters. The task gives an error and stops after 5 minutes or so. If I run the commands from the prompt, everything is fine...but not convenient. The Ubuntu VM used for the compilation is created on a Fedora 40, with Vagrant, and I gave it 30 cores and 30GB of R…

Hello, I am a long time Debian Testing user, and would like to use the testing repo on armbian as well. Currently however, I only get the choice between stable and unstable. apt.armbian.com also seems to only house packages for stable and unstable, not for testing. I would think that when you are already supporting stable and unstable, testing wouldn't be much more than just flicking a switch to turn it on. However, I assume people here know better than me. I barely know what is in the armbian repos.

moderators/admins, I'm thinking it could help to put Orange Pi Zero 3 in its own unmaintained boards sub section, it is likely there'd be more threads related to this and to move this thread and the other thread into the new orange pi zero 3 board section

By defaul armbian should be light so I think it should use LXDE , runit and no pulseaudio

Right - we're all pretty sick of systemd controversy, and no intent to rehash that all here again with mostly marketed fanboy-ism on either side. Without trying to be a geezer that want's to go back to the old days, I think that at least offering an interesting choice for Armbian using Devuan and the classic style of init might be worthwhile. An interesting perspective might be seen from our BSD brethren, who of course don't take to systemd lightly, yet still see things interesting they may want to incorporate: Benno Rice provides an interesting talk about it. Hey, let's not start yet another fanboy war abou…

Hi, It is my personal opinion that armbian should be distributed without default packages from the Debian non-free archive area. I think that the only package that is pre-installed from that area is iozone3. I wanted to stress that I believe that the armbian developers chose to pre-install iozone3 in good faith. So I don't mean to cause any undue trouble - If removing the tool is not appropriate at this time, I understand. I just wanted it out there that this is something that is 'nice to have'. Thanks, LD

The only thing I've had issues with on armbian, and that I often have issues with, is the default log2ram. As soon as you start doing anything that actually logs stuff, like access logs, or container logs and so on, the log space is not enough, even if allocating 500 MB RAM. And when /var/log fills up there are going to be crashes... in all kinds of ways. I have an ansible script that disables this now, but sometimes when doing dist-upgrade, log2ram settings come back (and also zram swap, which is also bad because kubernetes does not like swap, but thats not a disaster at least). So I simply propose to not make log2ram default, unless it can have some way to "…

Hi everyone, I am trying to get TVHeadEnd working on my Helios4 NAS, which is currently running Debian Stretch with Armbian Linux 4.19.63-mvebu. The software has installed, and I can access the web GUI on port 9981. However, I cannot see my tuner device under TV adapters. If I type dmesg into the command line, I can see the RTL2838UHIDIR device connected to USB. However there is nothing listed under /dev/dvb. I'm wondering if Armbian might be missing some of the drivers that are included with full Debian. I would appreciate any help in getting my USB TV tuner working with Armbian. Thanks.

QCA6391 is supported since kernel 5.10 and QCNFA765(WCN6856) since 5.17. So please enable default build options for them. Options are ATH11K_PCI and ATH11K(ATH11K_PCI depends on ATH11K)

I got a particularly tricky display, which requires overriding the EDID on Odroid N2 (this maybe more of a feature of meson-drm ff900000) but Armbian doesn't come compiled on it with the CONFIG_DRM_LOAD_EDID_FIRMWARE kernel config option. Seems that it would be a fairly harmless thing to enable on Amlogic/Odroid and possibly on all devices.

It's a good filesystem for universal storage, but isnt enabled on Rockchip (orangepi5/ rock 5b) kernels and I need to maintain my own.

New patches for mainline u-boot have been posted, so that espressobin should finally work now. That gives us a recent version of u-boot, compared to that old and unmaintained marvell fork. I opened a PR for OpenWRT to ship mainline u-boot/atf builds. Those also include distro boot: openwrt/openwrt#3360 And now we need testers openwrt/openwrt#3360 (comment) While this is a PR for OpenWRT, I boot vanilla debian with it. In the end the distro shouldn't matter Note: * All builds are currently CPU_800_DDR_800 only for stability reasons * There is no build for v5 with 2GiB RAM, does anyone have such a board? bu…

During first boot if the wifi router is not online, the whole setup skips wifi configuration. It would have good if it keeps scanning for new wifi names everytime it fails to connect to chosen option.

The opt-out of the newsletter only works if you are logged in. If you don't know your password or are mistakenly on the email-list, that's bad. Please change it so you can opt out of the newsletter simply by clicking the link. In some countries this a legal requirement for sending newsletters. I have also attempted to opt out via the contact form and by replying to the email, to no avail. It would be nice if you read your email 🙂 Thank you!

Hi all I have been using https://github.com/billw2/rpi-clone to clone sd cards as it uses rsync. It's much quicker than imaging and will clone larger cards to smaller if there is space. The thing is it expects a raspberrypi and so doesn't update the UUID in the armbianEnv.txt and fstab. If I manually do this then the clone is bookable and works fine. I cant script (yet), so if anyone could take a look at the script on git and suggest how this could be changed to work with armbian also i would be really grateful.

It's been several years since I started looking for a forum to discuss various general aspects of SBCs, such as "recommend me the board for X", SoC software support state, pricing, deals, etc. All not armbian-related per se. Neither of current categories are exactly suitable for such questions on this forum. Off-topic category doesn't receive much attention as I would guess. Proposal: create "general discussions" category.

Hi. Framebuffer: Please remove hardcoded framebuffer from the kernel if possible. (Example: Attaching 800x480 TFT Display to Olimex-A20-Micro results in prompt/armbian-config being out of sight because the forced resolution is 1024x768 and seemingly cannot be changed, bootenv isn't working) Touch Interface: None are currently really usable but it would be nice if armbian would ocasionally look over to postmarkedOS project and see if those can be provided. Namely: LuneOS interface, KDE Mobile, Maemo Leste

Are there any plans to add an option for full disk encryption to the installer ? I am using the RockPro64 if that matters. I notice that no ARM distro I have tried supports this for the RockPro64 currently so i'm not sure if it is just a low priority or if there is a techncial reason to not have it. Regardless if it's doable I would appreciate it being added down the road.

Hi guys! I asked a lot of devs about this feature and no one had the knowledge about this topic. I know it's something clearly missing on the kernel (display driver?). It's only available on very few boards right now, only RPI3 have it, not even RPI4 (but it's on developement or at least, heavily requested). you may know I am testing panfrost against tons of x86 games and bc we use hardware acceleretion, that capability is crucial to get enough gamma to actually play many games (unreal tournament, deus ex,etc). Ayufan told me I should ask on kodi team but I don't know who and they are hard to reach. I know you don't have the time to even …

Hi, Linux 5.10 has supported hardware PRNG, SHA, MD% for all sun8i-ce (H3/R40/A64/H5/H6) boards, and supported hardware TRNG on H6. Please consider enable CONFIG_CRYPTO_DEV_SUN8I_CE_HASH, CONFIG_CRYPTO_DEV_SUN8I_CE_PRNG, CONFIG_CRYPTO_DEV_SUN8I_CE_TRNG for hardware offload support. Thanks.

Hello Armbian community My HiFiBerry DAC HAT works well on my Raspberry Pi 3B with RasPiOS. However, I would like to put it on my Rock64 to use the higher Ethernet and USB speed it offers. As far as I can tell, HiFiBerry DAC is in the mainline Linux kernel - it is mentioned in the source code, but I do not understand programming, so I cannot see if it is used. Is the HiFiBerry DAC supported in Armbian's kernel? If so, how can I activate and use it? I put the HAT on the Rock64 and installed Armbian_20.05.2_Rock64_buster_current_5.4.43.img.xz , and it booted without problems, but I could not get sound out of the HiFiBerry DAC, and Alsamixer showe…

Hi. I am trying to control an i2c device at the u-boot stage. i2c 0 bus is activated through /boot/armbianEnv.txt file After settings some i2c commands at /boot/boot.cmd i checked the i2c sdk and sda pins via an oscilloscope. Can I know how to activate or use i2c at u-boot level? image: ARMBIAN 5.75 stable Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS 4.19.38-sunxi

Writing code for armbian is currently pain and suffering, because the code quality is horrible and it always makes me do changes alike https://github.com/Kreyren/armbian-build-kreyren/compare/6cd581c96c0b7b800b6549afe23112d4a662d2a0..811288169004dccacab964129ecaf8cfe891b22d that waste time just to get the contribution to work reliably, thus proposing to take an inspiration for how other projects such as nixos handle this issue and implement a RFC: https://github.com/NixOS/rfcs Which is a repository filled with directives that are to be followed during development to unite the coding style through brainstorm and logical rationale Additionally this RFC can then be…

Hi all, While building a custom image that needs to do some things at the end of the first bootup and reboot, I ran into some issues with armbian-firstrun.service. It currently has Type=simple, which means dependencies will be started when armbian-firstrun is *started*, and there is no clean way to wait until after it has *finished*. Looking to fix this, I noticed some other things that could be improved in this area, such as using systemd's first-boot-complete.target and ConditionFirstBoot to more simply manage first-boot-only services. I'm considering implementing some changes and submitting them in a PR, but before I do that, I'd like to get som…

Hello, there has been a linux kernel issue in the pci part. The symptoms are Armbian kernel panics. This has already been discussed in the armbian forum: A patch has been supplied by @Pali and Marek Behún in the drivers/pci/quirks.c file. Thank you guys very much for that! Hello Armbian team, I’m a big fan of your work and use Armbian on all my single-board computers, including Orange Pi, Banana Pi, and Raspberry Pi. However, I’ve noticed a recurring issue during bootstrapping: identifying the device on the network. Enabling the avahi-daemon could make it easier to connect to or discover the device using mDNS. What are your thoughts on this?

https://iridiumbrowser.de/ From the site: "Iridium Browser is based on the Chromium code base. All modifications enhance the privacy of the user and make sure that the latest and best secure technologies are used.Automatic transmission of partial queries, keywords and metrics to central services is prevented and only occurs with the approval of the user. In addition, all our builds are reproducible and modifications are auditable, setting the project ahead of other secure browser providers." Any chance of getting it in Armbian?

Just recently got my hands on a new ODroid C4, just to find out it doesn't work with my gamepad. A quick check of the kernel config with linux-image-current-meson64 (20.11.3) suggests this: # CONFIG_INPUT_JOYDEV is not set While I'm pulling down the 5.9 sources and brushing up on cross compiling Linux kernel debians, is there any way this could get added to the Armbian baseline? Thanks in advance.
