I have a NanoPi Neo and I'm currently looking to find out if the I2S pins can be set up as basic GPIOs? I can't find their names, (i.e. PA17) so not sure where to even begin with regards to tinkering the kernel. Any help appreciated! http://wiki.friendlyarm.com/wiki/images/c/c4/NEO_pinout-02.jpg

Hi, I built Armbian (bionic) from source for Orange Pi PC 2 and everything went through fine. I burn to SD card and load it on the board and it boots well. Then I use "root" to login and forced to change password from default 1234 to somepass. Everything seemed fine until I tried to login with the new password (old password failed to work anymore). The errors are in following screen shot. Kinda new to this stuff, not sure how to fix it. Tried to connect to serial port but somehow a couple of TTL cable all failed to work. Still struggling. Please help!

Can the Audio port on the Orange Pi Win Plus A64 also output video (like TV output)? It seems like most of the orange Pi boards with an audio jack can do this and the CubieTruck (which is an A20 board) can do the same as well. Please let me know ASAP. Thanks!

Hi. After 2 years uptime it disconnected from wifi and was unable to reconnect even after reboot. I suspect my AC adapter has degraded. Can this SBC measure the voltage? Upd: saw this post: https://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/questions/112122/wifi-not-connecting-depending-on-power-supply I use NetworkManager and when it starts it usually cannot connect to wifi saying that the pre-shared key is wrong, marking the connection as failed and not re-trying. In particular, the log contained a failed "asking for new key" message. Re-starting the service or manually activating the connection worked. As a workaround I created a *.conf file in …

Hi. I have received my new Neo Core and would like to flash my image to eMMC. I tried nand-sata-install but it says there is no target. On the Friendly Arm site they have a utility called eflasher, but I think this does not support Armbian. Is there a way to do it or a guide that I have missed? Thanks. J.

Libre software refers to the free software foundation's guidelines. Can you make an entirely libre software armbian version work on the orange pi one or other orange pi computers? How good will it work? About the orange pi one which devices will not work if only libre armbian software is installed? Notice this https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/bootlin/allwinner-vpu-support-in-the-official-linux-kernel/description If orange pi computers can work using libre software armbian, then how do they boot? Do they use uboot? Thanks.

Hi, so without knowing what the swappiness actually is I changed the value from 100 to 512. Since then, I can't boot my Banana Pi M2 Zero. Shortly after that, I remembered again: swappiness is the percentage of how often to use swap and not the maximum amount of storage. Can I repair it inside uboot? Can I plug the sd card into my PC and edit the files there? Here is the log from the serial console. It's stuck forever after the last line. .............................................................. Hi guys, I've searched for some days now, but couldn't find any infos. My problem is: If I want to boot my Orange Pi Zero without Ethernet, it just wont start. It seems like it is waiting for me to put in the cable. This can't be normal, can it? I ask, because, what am I supposed to do if I like my device to connect exclusively through WiFi? Or connect to nothing at all, till I need some type of connection. For me, it is important to connect only through WiFi at the moment. The OS's I've tried: Armbian Debian Jessie "mainline" and "legacy", no difference between them. Thanks, Pyro

Hello. I have problem with SSH on Armbian 23.8 Bookworm Orange Pi 3 LTS. Orange seems like booting ok, DHCP works too, since I see Pi's IP in my router settings, also I can ping it, and I'm 100% sure its Pi's IP since I have only my PC connected to LAN. I waited for 5 mins, and still couldn't connect to SSH. I tried to do port scan on Pi's IP and nmap says that only 5555 port is open. I am using 2A Adapter, so there should be no power issues. Hi you all. I'm trying for a couple of day now to solve an annoying problem with the USB and some Bananapi M2 zeros. I have two cluster-hats with 4 Bananapi M2 zeros as nodes. The cluster hat presents itself as a USB gadget (USB ethernet interface) to the nodes allowing networking between the controller and the nodes. The nodes work fine with kernel 5.9.8, the modules identify the hat as a network interface and everything works as expected. My trouble is that I'm creating new images for the nodes (bananapi m2 zero) from here, the nodes boots, but it seems like the OTG port is not behaving as expected. Followed instructions from these posts:…

Hey, I recently decided to give the 22.11 a try on my M1, but I can't get my sata SSD to be the system root and boot again. 18.04 it worked for me with the exact same setup. I used this: https://docs.armbian.com/User-Guide_Getting-Started/#how-to-install-to-emmc-nand-sata-nvme-usb went with armbian-install only option for me was boot from SD and system on sata. But after the preparation of the ssd, the reboot always runs into emergency mode with not really good hints how to solve, or what even the issue is. Any tips or hints are welcomed.

Hi all, I'm working with a BPI-P2 board. I installed the last Armbian version for BPI-M2 as the two boards are basically the same except the RJ45 connector and the eMMC. The related section of armbianEnv.txt is the following: overlays=i2c1 spi-spidev uart2 uart3 uart4 uart5 uart6 uart7 param_spidev_spi_bus=2 param_spidev_max_freq=10000000 What I'm doing of wrong? Hello guys, I have an annoying issue with my OPiPC where I simply cannot get HDMI output. I am certain it is not a hardware issue! My OPiPC works fine with HDMI output & android. I have tried a known good HDMI->DVI-D adapter with various settings, and direct HDMI connection with various settings. It is a fresh install of Armbian 5.20 with apt-get update & apt-get upgrade. I have tried a plethora of h3disp settings and direct bin2fex configs! What could be wrong? Here is the current setup I am testing, which I would like to get working: -LG W1942TQ ( 1440x900 native ) -Working HDMI cord and HDMI->DVI-D adapter Interesting bits of the fex file…

Armbian_5.59_Nanopineo2_Ubuntu_bionic_next_4.14.65.img does not see the sound codec at all. The status matrix here: http://linux-sunxi.org/Linux_mainlining_effort#Status_Matrix tells that Audio Codec should be supported since kernel 4.12 on H3 (H2+ is the same, as far as I know). But Armbian does not see the audio codec nor on NanoPi Neo2 (H5), nor even on on NanoPi Duo (H2+), although all the img files I used have 4.14 in their name. However, even with FriendlyElec's own image nanopi-neo2_ubuntu-oled_4.14.52_20180628.img there is a different issue - the sound is mono instead of stereo! I tried speaker-test: speaker-test -…

Hello Armbian community. Recently, I decided do try new distros for the Cubieboard 2. and Armbian seemed to be a really good option. However, just booting the latest image started to cause problems. After writing the image with the proper software on a proper SD card as mentioned by this webpage, it just doesn't work at all. To be brief, I took pictures of what appears on the screen, first being what seems like to be an error displayed by text, then a really messed up screen, and finally the board shutting down by itself. I would appreciate any help or recommendations regarding this issue.

Hi, I am trying to use the SPI interface on the board GPIOs of a BananaPi M1+. I have started the latest version of Armbian available for this board (Armbian_19.11.6_Bananapi_bionic_current_5.4.8) and after the initial configuration the "/boot/armbianEnv.txt" file has the following added lines: fdtfile=sun7i-a20-bananapi-m1-plus.dtb overlays=spi-add-cs1 spi-spidev param_spidev_spi_bus=0 I have rebooted but I am unable to use the spidevX.Y under the "/dev" folder. What am I missing? NOTE: I have tried several combinations of values on the armbianEnv.txt configuration file (ie: using only overlays flags without the other ones, using only the spi-spidev flag,…

I'm trying to use PA18/PA19 for custom purposes. I need to put these pins to Input state without any pullups/pulldowns. Hi, I have a problem with an OrangePi that I have set up to host Octoprint for my 3d printer. It connects to the wifi just fine(receives wifi IP and I can ping e.g. google.com), but this is all checked through a serial interface, because I can not connect via my network(through SSH) and I can not see the webserver that Octoprint should host. I can't even ping the OrangePi from my computer. What solves the problem for me is to ping my computer from the OrangePi(via serial console). First then I can connect via SSH and see the web page or ping the OrangePi from my computer. If I plug in ethernet to the OrangePi, there is no problem. I have searched …

How do I enable the cgroup memory controller on Armbian? I’m trying to control memory usage on my orange pi one using systemd with a unit file as follows: [Service] Slice=influxGroup.slice MemoryAccounting=true MemoryHigh=100M MemorySwapMax=250M The command systemd-cgls confirms that the influxGroup.slice has been created, yet memory is not controlled in line with the parameters in the unit file. Hi, I have a question regarding the new Banana Pi (A20) boot script created in Armbian 5.25. Many months ago I switched my roots from the SDCard to the sata disk using the sata-nand-install script, after that I used to switch between SD and HDD and vice versa, mostly for maintenance operations on the HDD (sometime the system gets corrupted and I have to restore the HDD partition with e2fsck from the SD). Until Armbian 5.20 I used to edit the boot.cmd file pointing to the desired root device, recompile the boot.scr and then the system were loaded from the desired partition. Now with Armbian 5.25 I'm not sure which file I have to edit to …

Hi, I'm using an hdd at my cubietruck and moved the root-fs to hdd. Now I'm wondering, whether it would be better, to change the commit settings in /etc/fstab to a lower value than 600? What do you mean? Thanks and best regards, Jochen

These boards are well suited to routing/network traffic control functionality. Currently the kernel has been compiled with Traffic Control stuff disabled, which makes it impossible to perform traffic shaping on stock Armbian kernel. I'm busy recompiling the kernel as a temporary solution, but I will really appreciate it if the kernel build maintainer can please change the traffic control options from DISABLED to MODULE (at least)? I have a bunch of Armbian boards but I'm testing with NanoPi Neo 2 right now. --- I'll let you know the size of the modules once I've finished compiling.

Hello, I'm working on a project which include a microcontroller and a NanoPi NEO Core running Armbian FriendlyCore distribution. The NanoPi is wired to the µcontroler ICSP which can reset the µcontroller for update purpose. The allwinner H3 datasheet state that the GPIOA6 (the one linked to ICSP) should start with HIGH-Z and no resistance pulling, it seems to do so but a few second after reboot it seems to go low as all other GPIO... resulting in an unwanting reset of the µcontroller. Is there a way to change this by setting the default state somewhere in the system, or should I have to use dts files or core compilation ? Any solution would be appreciated. …

Hi, I'm using the 3.4.107 kernel at the moment and I have also attached an HDD. Now I have the problem that the CUbietruck get's unresponsive once every 1-2 weeks and because of the ramlog I have no logs to see what the problem is. All services stop working, but power is still "on". My only idea is to replace ramlog solution by "normal" logfile writing (and because I use an HDD it's maybe better to directly write on HDD in any case) to have infos when the machine crashes the next time. What I do need to do for that (I'm not really a linux expert ;-) ). Thanks for help. Ingo F

Hi there, I've been "playing" around various debian images for my lime2 and http://www.igorpecovnik.com/2014/11/18/olimex-lime-debian-sd-image/ seems to be the most achieved so far. Stable and everything. The only thing I miss is the "change_display.sh" tool so that I can easily configure my board to switch between the Olimex LCD and the HDMI screen. Would it be possible to add these tools in the next image ? I understand that it requires sunxi-tools and a few other things but it looks a bit complicated for me. Thanks for the feedback. Maxime

I'm using Armbian on a NanoPi Neo where I'm running an application that relies on having low latency UART responses.
