  2. After running the armbian-install program and selecting option "1 'Boot from SD - system on SATA, USB or NVMe'" the program transfers the contents of the SD card to the drive (SATA or NVMe). And it works. The problem occurs after booting - a message appears about the device being unable to mount /media/mmcboot . And indeed - the contents of /media/mmcboot and /boot are empty. The problem turns out to be the contents of the /etc/fstab file generated on the SATA/NVMe drive. The mount point /media/mmcboot has a only UUID value, but the text "UUID=" is missing before the value. After manually adding it, everything starts fine. If someone could lean in and correct th…

Is it normal in Armbian? I use Orange Pi Win Plus 2, how do I deactivate that functionality? I use it as a remote server.

  6. My Armbian paste is at https://paste.armbian.com/yamakinoce This is an OrangePi Zero Plus, with an H3, not an H5 or an H2. I see all kinds of problems here but don't know how to fix them. It seems the DTB is just wrong for this board. For one, there are interrupts showing up in /proc/interrupts for HDMI and LCD, but this physical board has *neither* of those. It has an Ethernet PHY but neither the kernel nor uboot see it. It also has a Wifi but the kernel does not see that either. Does a correct DTB exist for this board? What is its name? I vaguely remember a couple ways to force the kernel and uboot to use a different DTB …

  9. Hello, I'm running a OPI Lite with debian jessie, All works fine until i have to reboot, and that happens quiet often while testing software. AFTER the boot i'm not able to reach the OPI via SSH, because the eth0 is activated ...and has a 169.x.x.x ip adress... On the OPI Lite i can ONLY discover WIFI and no eth0 connector...So i go into the "nmtui" tool and "disactivate" the eth0... Than i have access again via the wifi to my OPI lite. How can i completely disable the eth0, that only WIFI connects to my network? I didn't find about this behavior on the web, anyone else have that problem? Kind regards from Hans F4VSJ

  10. Just for information, I have tested ADS7846 touchscreen on new 4.19.y Bionic Orangepi one. What I did to get it work: 1. Upgrade dtc to version 1.4.7. By default it was dtc version 1.4.5 and I have get errors while trying to do " armbian-add-overlay sun8i-h3-spi-ads7846.dts" 2. I've got the unit plugged into a charger that provides sufficient power. The devices SoC warms up hinting that it is actually booting. I am interested in locking the sdcard to read only for reliability during power loss, and storing application configuration data to the spi flash if possible. Can it be mounted with a filesystem, or is it better to use a ramdisk and store it periodically to flash?

I was quite surprised to see that the pcduino3nano is now deprecated, while other A20 boards are still supported. What was the exact reason that the pcduino3nano was dropped from support? If I keep using the deprecated OS, can I fully use apt update/upgrade for all user stuff? What would happen to all kernel and u-boot update packages? Is the latest armbian for the pcduino3nano automatically disabling those updates, or do I need to do something manually? *should* I block kernel & u-boot updates? thanks, Udi

  49. The 1-bay NAS kit v1.2 has an RTC with option to add CR2032 button cell to keep HW time when system is shut down. But running `timedatectl` when device is booted in offline mode shows RTC is set to 1970-01-01 00:00:00 which defeats the purpose of having the option of CR2032. And yes, the button cell have juice; I've bought it a week ago and tested it before putting it in the kit.

  50. Hi, 1st of all, thanks for the excellent job on Armbian so far, really feels very solid compared to most other distros. Here is my little problem: Installed Armbian_5.14_Orangepipc_Debian_jessie_3.4.112_desktop Realtek RTL 8188 plugged in into any USB port Followed Rudolfos tutorial Reboot - wireless works flawlessly Update via apt-get update/upgrade --> 8188 still recognized, but board locks up or reboots when I try to connect to an AP I am right now preventing updates to 5.14 as per attachement, but this is obviously not a preferred solution. The driver used is the 8192cu,the device ID is 0bda: 8176 Realtek 8188cus. Any directions? Best, -Thomas

  51. Started by jock,

I got an OrangePi Pc, and I see that Mali GPU frequency has been rolled back to 252 Mhz, or at least the kernel is saying so in dmesg. I took a look into the changelog, the frequency has been increased to nominal 600 Mhz in armbian v5.15, but now I installed a fresh 5.20, upgraded to latest packages and I see that kernel initializes the GPU at 252 Mhz. I found no traces of this rollback in the changelog. As I'm currently testing the SBC as a desktop replacement, I'm guessing if the increased gpu frequency could be of any benefit to the interface snappiness.

  94. Hi, I'm trying to get Bluetooth working on a Cubietruck running 6.6 kernels including the latest Armbian release. What I'm finding is that a Cubietruck can discover other Cubietrucks but nothing else. Other devices (e.g. Raspberry Pi, Nvidia, Rockpi, and various phones) can discover each other but not the Cubietrucks. I have three Cubietrucks here and testing with the old 4.99 Bluetooth software or the current 5.55 release shows no difference. But if I run a Cubietruck with the ancient 3.4 kernel it can detect other devices but not the Cubietrucks running the 6.6 kernels. I'm using the same Wi-Fi firmware and BT .hcd file in all cases. So it's like the Cubietru…

  95. Hi All, I'm using a rather old Armbian (wheezy) image on an Olimex Micro. I've installed a lot of apps on it, so I don't want to be moving to a newer image. I'm trying to copy my SD card image to NAND using the `nand-sata-install.sh` script that came with the image. All goes well. The script partitions the NAND, reboots, installs all files and shuts down. When I remove the SD card and power on, the board boots and everything is still alright. Now, on subsequent poweroffs or reboots, the board does boot, but I doesn't connect to ethernet. Boot logs from debug UART show that `proc` isn't mounted. Error: /proc must be mounted What could be the reaso…

Hi All, My first topic here, I own a Banana Pi M1 and I have just switched from bananian. Everything looks great in armbian and most of the things are just working, I just miss zsh from bananian but that was easy to fix. However I use my server for backups using ecryptfs (so I can encrypt/decrypt folders on demand) and I'm unable to mount any ecryptfs directory. My configuration: Banana PI M1 running Debian Wheezy mainline kernel 4.4.3 (just installed) Things I've done: Install ecryptfs-utils (installs ok and tools are available) Try to mount a ecryptfs directory: I get the message "unknown filesystem type ecryptfs" Try to load as a module (just in case):…

  97. Started by sovking,

I'm running an OrangePI PC with legacy Jessie server and armbian 5.23 and kernel 3.4.112. I never seen the ouput through the HDMI monitor. It's always without signal, even at boot when uboot start. Is that normal ? I played with h3disp, but it never work. I would like to see just the boot and the text console. Any suggestion ? Thanks

  98. Hi all. I've been struggling for several days to establish an internet connection via enc28j60 (Ethernet to SPI device) on my Nano Pi NEO Air, running Armbian 5.27, kernel 4.11.3. I have this custom DTS file added to my armbianEnv.txt, with two small modifications regarding the interrupt pin (apparently, PA7 is not available on Nano Pi NEO Air). I have pins = "A17"; ... interrupts = <0 17 2>; instead of pins = "PA7"; ... interrupts = <0 7 2>; The DT stuff is correctly loaded during boot, and an eth0 interface shows up (initially with random MAC address upon every reboot, but it's fixed now). However, only the orange ligh…

  99. Hi! I recently upgraded the OS of my OpiZeroLTS, from the Debian Stretch Server 5.3.5 (available distro on Sunxi website) to Debian Buster 5.8.5 (downloaded from armbian webpage). Everything went well, except when I plug my USB webcam several video devices are assigned. I made a script with fswebcam to acquire still pictures from all /dev/video* and these "ghost" cameras are causing errors when the software try to open them as regular webcams. My script: for vid in /dev/video*; do output=$(basename $vid) fswebcam -d $vid -r 1920x1080 -D 10 -S 5 -F 1 --jpeg -1 --no-banner --no-timestamp --no-info /opt/images/$output mv /opt/i…
