  1. Hi guys, I know cubieboard A10 is already out of support, nevertheless I was able to make the right image work for it with a cubiescreen. Armbian gave me a way to make my own image without so much problems. The only issue I am having right now is that my touchscreen stops working after a while with errors like this: msg ft5x_i2c_rxdata i2c read error: -121 ***CTP***ft5x_read_data:893 read_data i2c_rxdata failed: -121 bus is busy, status = f9 Retrying transmission 2 I asume that my kernel patch for this touchscreen is not longer working. I have found that some guys manage to make it work under kernel version 3.4.79. So I tried to c…

Hi there, after upgrade Armbian today the Device (banana-pi) doesnt come up again telling that the root fs couldnt be mount because mmcblk0p1 is not available. After checking SD Card everything seems ok, filesystem is there and doesnt have any error. But still no boot. Then after applying a backup things are fine again. Started the upgrade again and same error like before. When applying those two updates there is repeatedly a dead system afterwards. Hello, I am trying to have a serial link between an arduino and a banana pi. As a basic test, the Arduino is sending "hello" every seconds. I observe that the reception by the Banana pi is not good. I have tried , several baud rates, /dev/ttyS2 and FTDi adaptor. The best result seems to be with the FTDI adapter , at 115200 bps. But I have still a lot of errors, see below. When I plug the FTDI adapter on my laptop, it works without issues. Do you know what could be the cause of my issues? 6. I've tried many permutations of overlays and user-overlays and I can get /dev/spidev0.0 or /dev/spidev0.1 to be present, but I can't seem to get both simultaneously. I need both to migrate a project from an older Fedora distribution relying on modprobe to the latest version of Armbian. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated! I started with very recent Armbian 23.02 Bullseye XFCE downloaded from arbian.com/banana-pi-plus .. Armbian_23.02.2_Bananapi_bullseye_current_5.15.93_xfce_desktop.img and I added the following to the /boot/armbianEnv.txt file, as described in the Armbian page associated with the BananaPi M1+ .. f…

  7. Dear maintainers, I have my sensors configured to reboot every night via a user cronjob (0 0 * * * /sbin/reboot), 14 sensors do this without a problem. I've fixed the nanopi neo+2 reboot from NAND some months ago (by re-using friendlyarm first stage u-boot). I just stumbled upon a failed reboot with one of my nanopi neo+2 nodes, after two successful reboots. Looking at the /var/log.hdd/syslog, it got stuck in the shutdown procedure when the watchdog reported a failure. The /var/log.hdd/syslog.1 extracts below show the start of the watchdog, and the stop of the watchdog and its failure. After the failure the system doesn't come up anymore, it needed a pow…

  8. Hi, I found a similar thread about space problem on /boot when upgrading the kernel, but it was with debian jessie, not Ubuntu, and the proposed "trick" doesn't seem to work anymore: This is what I get: Actually, I am facing this problem since I set up my system a year ago, but didn't take the time to solve it. But now, I would like to finish the aimed set up of the device (home server) and would like to get this out of the way. Thanks for any suggestion.

  9. Hi, I've tried to finally move on from 5.04, but the new image doesn't boot. At least, HDMI doesn't show anything and my router doesn't see the board when connected via ethernet. On the first power-on the green led glows a few minutes, then red one blinks a few times alone, then both leds blink and then only green one glows. On successive boots only green led glows uninterruptedly. Do you need any information to make it work? BTW, legacy kernel worked fine for me, except my HDD connected with hdd-usb adapter (Agestar 3FBCP1) spits errors every few seconds and performance is unbearable. Connected to my router with TomatoUSB the same hdd works fine. I hoped n…

After receiving several Orange Pi Zeros and a Pi+2E, I have been experiment on different ways to connect them using the g_ether and usbnet modules, and configuring the Zero OTG port as slave (mode 2). I am trtying to keep my pcduino 3 nano alive. It has been working perfectly under a debian bullseye distro from Johan Gunarsson for 4 years and now I can't get the OTG to work under any release (bullseye, bookworm or trixie) I have explored many avenues, but even a plain manual setup of g_mass_storage doesn't work in a workable way. The drive appears in Windows Explorer after several minutes, and any copy or delete to that gadget drive takes ages (3+ minutes for a 12kb file) before it fails or succeeds silently. I am looking for a forum where pcduino users can help each other. Thank you, Gaetano.

Hello, I am trying to use BPI with legacy Armbian and Stella emulator with 16:10 monitor (using HDMI-DVI cable) I just dont know how to set proper 16:10 resolution. The resolution I set in armbian-config is 1680x1050, but it is different from resolution that Stella uses, when I launch it on the startup. It uses the resolution defined in FEX. So I checked https://linux-sunxi.org/Fex_Guide#disp_init_configuration and tried various resolutions, but dont know which of them is 16:10 and what is the exact resolution. For example 576p can mean anything. How can I find it out? Thank you very much.

Last night I was digging through the logs, and i found an error msg that said that I was over clocking the board without without heat protection. Couple of Questions: 1 I don't have a heat sink on the CPU, do I need one? 2 I haven't done anything to the CPU speed, and running Wheezy and Jessie off of different SD's. Is overclocking turned on in the release? It is really cold here in the high Desert, right around freezing for 4 to 12 hours every night. Not as cold as northern EU, but cold. The room temp is probably 60-65 degrees F. I have the Micro in the Micro case from Olimex. Does the processor need a heat sink? thanks in advance Mike

  47. Hello. For some reason, UART1 does not work for transmission, only for reception. The transmitter pin itself is definitely working, I checked by switching this pin to output mode, and then switching it to a high/low logical level, everything works properly, the level on the Pin changes. How I check the UART itself: I installed picocom, shorted the TX and RX pins, and I’m trying to see what I’m sending. For UART2 this method works as it should, but UART1 only works for reception. I realized this when I opened the TX and RX, and was able to receive incoming data sent through the USB-UART converter.

I assume it is due to the vanilla kernel but could not find any documentation on why this is happening... Any answer/comments would be much appreciated! Let me know if yo…
