Since a few weeks Olimex delivers their 4GB Variant of the Olinuxo A20 Micro with standard eMMC (See this revision https://github.com/OLIMEX/OLINUXINO/blob/master/HARDWARE/A20-OLinuXino-MICRO/A20-OLINUXINO-MICRO-EMMC_Rev_J.pdf) Onfortunality the Armbian Version for this board does not support eMMC (Although it is not recognized). How can I enable this support? Kind regards, Pieter

Hello everybody. I'm trying to have the OLIMEX board and LCD above working, using legacy Jessie desktop. With the default configuration only portion of the screen works properly. So I have tried to: 1) sunxi-fexc from bin to fex the file /boot/script.bin 2) edit the extracted script.fex file like this: from [lcd0_para] lcd_used = 1 lcd_x = 600 lcd_y = 480 to [lcd0_para] lcd_used = 1 lcd_x = 1024 lcd_y = 600 which I understand is the resolution of my LCD screen. 3) sunxi-fexc back from fex to /boot/script.bin The result is that when I reboot I get a messed up screen. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I got a new board revision of the Olimex A20-OLInuXino-MICRO Board (Rev. J). It works with the by Olimex provided Jessie image but not with Armbian_5.25_Micro_Debian_jessie_next_4.9.7. I get no IP address by DHCP because the ethernet is not working. The reason could be an new ethernet chipset they introduced with this revision. New: Microchip's LAN8710AI-EZK(QFN-32). Before: Realtek RTL8201CP(LQFP-48) They publish a patch on: https://github.com/OLIMEX/OLINUXINO/blob/master/SOFTWARE/A20/A20-build-3.4.103-release-5/a20-phy_1000_100-dram.patch

Sometimes if your monitor is off and olimex start first and after that just monitor is on you will get "default" resolution : ~> cat /sys/class/graphics/fb0/virtual_size 1024,768 I've created a script that fix that with recompiling initramfs, adding necessary /lib/firmware/edid/1920x1080.bin file directly into it. Feel free to use, suggestions are welcome. P.S. Please add tags A20-OLinuXino-LIME2 and T2-OLinuXino-LIME2 fix_hdmi_resolution.sh

Hello. I've got physically rotated HDMI monitor and try using Olimex Lime 2 with simplefb graphics. I could rotate console in kernels compiled with CONFIG_FRAMEBUFFER_CONSOLE_ROTATION=y by using echo 3 > /sys/class/graphics/fbcon/rotate But what about graphical sessions? Like I install some desktop environment and in its screen properties rotation is grayed out! Any instructions please how to make HDMI screen rotation working with latest Igor's Olimex Lime 2 images? Preferrably for 4.x kernel since I believe it is more free software without proprietary blobs and plain software simplefb graphics handling. If I only could rotate it! Any help? …

I’ve recently ran into this where whenever I power up my Olimex Lime 2 eMMC with Armbian, it powers down before it propretly starts. Here’s what I managed to observe so far. Armbian version …em, latest at this stage, I guess, it’s a bit hard to check exactly right now press power on button, it powers on via HDMI I see the Armbian boot logo some early boot messages pop up and ends with “Starting kernel ....” (Loading init Ramdisk seems OK, loading of device tree also OK) it goes back to black screen with Armbian logo and the _ blinking for a very short time I see an error with a long number and saying something about ”rebooting again…

I downloaded and booted successfully from the Debian Jessie image available on http://www.armbian.com/olimex-lime-a10/ for the LIME. Now I'd like to install an image to NAND, but there's currently no 3.4 kernel version available for the A10. (I've also checked the mirror). I was wondering (before breaking my neck trying to build it) whether this was simply due to no image having been built yet, or due to some circumstances making it impossible to run a 3.4 on the LIME A10? Thanks

I have 1 "Customised Olimex Lime A20 SBC with RTL-SDR chip installed in the board (AirNav XRANGE). Currently the OS I'm using is the Lime A20 Armbian Stretch 4.14.84, everything is works fine except for the 2 GPIO LED. I have no idea how to let it work. I have the edited "sun7i-a20-olinuxino-lime.dtb" from Armbian Jessie 4.11.5 which is mainly for the board. May I know is there a way to incorporated the "Armbian Jessie 4.11.5's sun7i-a20-olinuxino-lime.dtb into the A20 Armbian Stretch 4.14.84 so that the 2 LEDs will work again? The edited dtc for LEDs to work "sun7i-a20-olinuxino-lime.dtb" attached. Hope to get so…

Hello there, I am looking for some feedback/suggestion about an issue I have. Installed Armbian legacy kernel just yesterday. Then I have plugged https://www.olimex.com/Products/USB-Modules/MOD-WIFI-AR9271-ANT/ to enable wifi and found out I missed required firmware. I installed such firmware (htc_9271.fw) first by Ubuntu linux-firmware package, then tried with armbian-firmware-full, then I have downloaded from here http://linuxwireless.org/download/htc_fw/1.3/ (putting in /lib/firmware and after failing tried also /lib/firmware/ath9k_htc like package manager does. Last night I was digging through the logs, and i found an error msg that said that I was over clocking the board without without heat protection. Couple of Questions: 1 I don't have a heat sink on the CPU, do I need one? 2 I haven't done anything to the CPU speed, and running Wheezy and Jessie off of different SD's. Is overclocking turned on in the release? It is really cold here in the high Desert, right around freezing for 4 to 12 hours every night. Not as cold as northern EU, but cold. The room temp is probably 60-65 degrees F. I have the Micro in the Micro case from Olimex. Does the processor need a heat sink? thanks in advance Mike

I flashed the Armbian 5.35 4.13.16 image and at boot time I sometimes got faults and the OS doesnt boot. The clean install also produced sometimes the error or warning but I started to customize the system with enabling overlays and now its cant boot. I restored the initial state of the uEnv through my computer but the bug is still running. I copied the messages to pastebin: http://pastebin.com/2NUGVnqt I dont know where can I start the debugging and how to find what is wrong. I have C skills but I never debug the kernel so its a good time to start, but first it is a serious bug because the system is useless.

On the 20.08.2 Buster release (Kernel 5.8.6) the headphone jack is not currently working. HDMI audio seems to be supported. aplay -L returns only the HDMI audio interface. Hi there, I've been trying for a few hours now to get the GPIOs working with the mainline kernel (ARMBIAN Debian GNU/Linux 8 (jessie) 4.5.2-sunxi). According to the board layout photo, I am using PG0, PG1, PG2 and PG3. With the legacy kernel, they export as GPIO1-PG0 a.s.o. accordingly and work perfectly. So I calculate the GPIO pin number: G is 7th letter, 7 - 1 is 6, 6 * 32 is 192. GPIO192 exports fine, I can set it to output, change the value to 1 but there's no voltage! Can anyone help me, please?

Hello, Using Vanilla Jessie latest image and used sd to sata/usb script to put everything on an 8gb usb stick. Everything works fine. When i add a 2.5 " sata hard drive system does not boot. Green light goen on, disk starts to spin and after a couple of seconds disk stops spinning and only red light stays on. I tried connecting sata disk after booting and i can see the disk through fdisk -l. (I put the disk on power after booting the system) I use this adapter:Power supply adapter 12V/1A , bought from olimex. Any idea what might be the case?Maybe there is not enough power to start hard disk while booting? Thanks in advance.

This is not solved the only tag I can add is solved. How do I change that I have an orange pi zero 3 and am trying to ssh into this board. Ive written all three minimal files to different 32gb sd cards. After I write the drive I add a blank ssh file and a wpa_supplicante.conf file with my wifi info on it. I install the os with balanaetecher or Rufus(I've tried so many things. I find my IP when I try to ssh doesn't work) but I can ping the zero. I've tried windows 8.1, and 11 plus Linux mint same thing. Could someone please help me? This probably should take 20 minutes but I've been at it for 2.5 days

Very grateful to armbian to provide such a good image! Armbian has released many images that have been packaged with OMV。 I am follow this link for a long time:http://kaiser-edv.de/tmp/NumpU8/ I'm happy to see more and more mirrors available。 I used one of the images named OMV_3_0_72_Orangepiplus2e_3.4.113.7z and it works good,Special thanks to tkaiser! I run Armbian 20.02.1 stable on a zeropi which is used as a wireguard server and spotify direct client (USB to external DAC). Things run very well. Many thanks to everyone involved in keeping Armbian such a great distro! I noticed that when I turn on the ondemand governor the system becomes very unresponsive and music playback is stuttering. When I use the performance governor (even with min and max frequency both set to 480MHz) things run just fine. Most of the time 480MHz will be sufficient, but it would be nice to be able to take advantage of the ondemand governor. Any help is greatly appreciated.

So I thought I had a stable system with my OPI PC the 4.7.3-sun8i kernel (for BTRFS support), but the OOM killer keeps silently triggering. I can see it on the serial term and in the logs. I added the following t /etc/sysctl.conf: vm.swappiness=10 # try a value that will actually use the swap vm.min_free_kbytes=64000 # ensure that some memory is always available, held back from file caching. vm.oom_kill_allocating_task=1 # kill the offending task that requested the memory and not the task with the most memory to give up to see if there is an obvious trigger culprit. Hello there, I tried to use on OPC3 bionic the ttyS1 for communcation with a serial device and didn't get it to work. ttyS3 works fine. Configuration is done for both. But now I need to communicate with a second and possibly a third serial device. So I hoped for updates. But now I can't find a download of the bionic version and i have to make decision how to go further on. Does it make sense to switch to buster or stretch? Is bionic only temporarily or finally offline? Whats the reason? Any idea when there is a chance to get a stable release. Possibly with 6 Months or surely not within 6 months. Which version is more likely to …

Hi, Nanopi M1 is so similar to Orange Pi One that you can use the amazing work provided by jernejsk and run Openelec using the VPU of the H3. Here are the links : * Main page * prebuilt images list * Github project * The issue I've opened I'm using the embedded IR Sensor with my remote (that was the toughest part) and the only modification I made was to change to cpufreq governor from performance to conservative but if you use the latest image you shouldn't have to do that. Well so far so good. I'm using a little heat sink and the cpu temperature is between 60°C and 80°C depending of the video I'm playing.

Hello everybody, I'm pretty new to Armbian and H3 boards. I own an Orange PI + 2 board brought more than 1 year ago, yesterday I started to play around with it and I've discovered that for some reason its Mali GPU doesn't support OpenGL ES and it's somehow related to it having 2 GB of RAM on board. I'm really not sure how it can be related, but that's what Armbian's changelog for v5.20 says: Later in v5.25 it says: So I just want to know if 2GB boards feature OpenGL ES support (as well as HW video decoding etc)? I tried to run glxheads, glxgears etc from mesa-utils package, but got some really poor FPS there + some games I used for …

Hi, I have been using the Aruntu 2.0 desktop for CubieTruck on my sailboat mainly to run an OpenSource charting program called OpenCPN. On Aruntu I was able to compile from source and it worked well. Aruntu is no longer supported, so I am trying to switch to ArmBian. I can compile on ArmBian, but OpenGLES is not found, so the program defaults to software OpenGL which is very slow. How can I install OpenGLES support, in order to use the hardware video accelleration ? Thanks, JM.

I'm running Armbian_5.20_Micro_Debian_jessie_3.4.112 on an Olimex A20 micro board. I find that opening serial port device `/dev/ttyS2` causes the system to crash. The board heartbeat LED either stops or blinks rapidly. The board itself is not pingable. I can reproduce this issue with a simple from the shell using: cat /dev/ttyS2 or from c code using: fd = open("/dev/ttyS2", O_RDWR | O_NOCTTY | O_NDELAY); `/dev/ttyS2` is linked to UART6. In the fex file, I have configured it like so: [uart_para6] uart_used = 1 uart_port = 6 uart_type = 2 uart_tx = port:PI12<3><default><default><default> uart_rx = port:PI13<3><default><defau…

I have OPI 2 running latest armbian mainline with MQTT broker and home assistant only. And I've started to experience hard freezes that only power re-plug helps :/ At first I thought that only networking was gone, but I've triggered hearbeat on red onboard led and this led is just stopping blinking on freezes. I've even got rid of Network Manager and setup iface in old good way via /etc/networking/interfaces. Then I've connected to serial console, run minicom in screen with logging to file. Hi there, just got OPi3 (4x 1.8GHz, 2GB RAM, eMMC), and I have (probably) issue with display settings (resolution / refresh rate?). I have an 1280x1024@60Hz VGA monitor, connected to an KVM switch (VGA+USB), then to HDMI->VGA converter. It worked OK for my 2 OPiPC+. Now what happens when I connect OPi3 instead od one of OPiPC+: - installed "OOB" Armbian Buster for OPi3, (server), - during initial startup there was NO question about monitor resolution (differs from initial startup for PC+), - only login / new user dialog. - now screen "flickers", text mode for few seconds, then blank screen, "power" LED of monitor is lit, like there is…

Hi there, with Armbian Buster "OOB" (+update) I have following problem on Orange Pi 3: - Firefox (with language Polish) does not play network radio: https://www.rmfon.pl/play,25#p , - at the same time: - there are /dev/snd/ files, only for HDMI, but I have read that currently there is no driver for H6 audio, so I may expect at least ALSA is working, - VLC plays MP3 files correctly, (but it can play with pulse and ALSA), - pulseaudio is not started / configured / present. What should I do?

I successfully installed Armbian 20.08.1 to eMMC, and it works fine. Now, I want to try Raspberry OS (I'm told that it works?) but regardless of what I put on my uSD card (I've tried several OS's) - when rebooting the OPi 3+, it always comes up with the eMMC Armbian load. In researching this, I read over and over that the uSD card always has priority over the eMMC. Is this still true with the current version of Armbian? What could explain the behavior I'm seeing? I tried the Install to/update booth loader, both option, with no change in behavior. Any thoughts?

I got an OrangePi Pc, and I see that Mali GPU frequency has been rolled back to 252 Mhz, or at least the kernel is saying so in dmesg. I took a look into the changelog, the frequency has been increased to nominal 600 Mhz in armbian v5.15, but now I installed a fresh 5.20, upgraded to latest packages and I see that kernel initializes the GPU at 252 Mhz. I found no traces of this rollback in the changelog. As I'm currently testing the SBC as a desktop replacement, I'm guessing if the increased gpu frequency could be of any benefit to the interface snappiness.

Hey All, I moved my armbian OS from OPI H5 Zero Plus2 to OPI H5 Zero Plus (the one with the LAN), the WiFi is working perfectly but the LAN is not recognized, nor i can find any sign on dmesg or boot (but its there, i see it). ifconfig and ifconfig -a show only the "wlan0" and "lo". I am using ARMBIAN 5.64.181015 nightly Ubuntu 16.04.5 LTS 4.14.76-sunxi64 with (armbian-config for Zero Plus 2) As it took me pretty much time to spin-up the OS, i would like to avoid burning a new OS. Hi, I guess this question depends on knowing the OPi Lite hardware reset button capabilities before being able to answer the following question. but here goes: Does anyone know if the OPi Lite button can be scripted/coded to not only execute a shutdown or reboot command but to do both? So, say, a single short press would gracefully reboot the OS while a long press (hold for, say, 4 seconds) would perform a shutdown? Thanks!

I've been having a rather odd issue with an entirely pink screen upon cold boot. I tried with Raspbian and it didn't occur there. This has actually prevented me from using the device at all now. When I first set it up, I was able to Ctrl C the setup stuff and type in reboot. When it rebooted, I was able to use it again. However, last night the Wifi completely died. I tried everything to revive it but it kept asking for the password repeatedly. Tried different networks, no luck. Figured power cycling might help. Bad idea. Now I can't SSH in to type in reboot, and I'm now permanently stuck on a pink screen. Doesn't matter if …

I have couple H3 and A20 devices and all run fine except one - Opi Lite, running latest Arbian (5.26) with built in wifi connected does not close SSH session upon reboot/poweroff. The session eventually times out on client but sometimes I have to kill it manually. There are no modifications to PAM nor systemd-logind configurations and the configuration is exactly the same as on other devices. I'm wondering what may cause this misbehaviour, and how can I fix this? (This topic was created yesterday before db failure/site update and I can't find it now on restored site, I guess it has been lost)

Hello, I'm running a OPI Lite with debian jessie, All works fine until i have to reboot, and that happens quiet often while testing software. AFTER the boot i'm not able to reach the OPI via SSH, because the eth0 is activated ...and has a 169.x.x.x ip adress... On the OPI Lite i can ONLY discover WIFI and no eth0 connector...So i go into the "nmtui" tool and "disactivate" the eth0... Than i have access again via the wifi to my OPI lite. How can i completely disable the eth0, that only WIFI connects to my network? I didn't find about this behavior on the web, anyone else have that problem? Kind regards from Hans F4VSJ

Hello, my Orange Pi Lite WiFi (RTL 8189FTV) @ armbian 5.13 for OPi Lite works well on 20 MHz WiFi channels however is not usable on 40 MHz channels. The signal strength vary between 79 to 95 % on 20 MHz channel(s) while from -1 to 36 % on 40 MHz channel(s) and the connection is not possible. It seems the driver still needs some more tweak. Other WiFi devices have no problems with 40 MHz. The router I use to connect to is Asus RT-N18U (Broadcom BCM47081A0). Thank you for your efforts vojtvop

Looking for any means of finding a unique and permanent MAC address for opilites. Is there some kind of serial number or other unique number of any kind in an H3 SOC or in something on an OPI Lite board that could be used to derive a MAC ? As things currently are I either have to manually setup the mac for each board I build - in a conf file in /etc/modprobe.d or live with the fact that the board comes up with a new mac/ip with every boot.

Like most people that have consumer ipv6 service, I have NATted ipv4 + global ipv6. I'm trying to get my v4 to be a static address and my v6 to be slaac with privext 2. However if I try to set this, I end up with the ipv6 configuration not enabled. I got my lite days ago, and have tried lots of images, none of them can recognize the build-in wifi Instead, a eth0 device is presented. is it the actual wlan? Armbian gives me the best compatibility so far (in terms of usb support) I can read the chip module is printed realtek 8189FTV, but lsmod shows me a 8189es module loaded. By google around, no luck for the FTV version driver. I also played with the script.bin, but still no luck. Anyone can give me some hints. Thanks.

What is the latest version of Armbian tested and proven working with a gc2035 camera module, please? I tried a few months ago and ran into so many issues, I gave up. Camera works in Android, didn't work in the Armbian I tried, and was eventually advised to try an earlier version that I couldn't easily find. I decided to defer the problem, but it is now more pressing. Thanks in advance for info and advice. Regards, Charlie

I'm trying to use 1080p60 with a DVI-HDMI cable on an Orange Pi One so I run h3disp -m 1080p60 -d and restart. Monitor shows randomly moving white lines on both sides of the display (probably the console text all garbled) for a few seconds then goes to sleep. Tried with a TV (using an HDMI-HDMI cable) and it cycles between Unsupported Mode and No Signal. 1080p without the DVI flag works on the TV but the monitor doesn't even come out of sleep with it. Other resolutions seem to work fine with the DVI flag on the monitor, including 720p and 1080i. The monitor also works fine with a 1080p output from a PC.
