  1. Hi. I encountered problem, glimpsed through topics and didn't found anything similar so I am posting this one now. Had set up OrangePi Zero 256MB version with Domoticz and everything looked great. I have 2 internet connections, one is PON FTTH and the other one is VDSL. So I have 2 routers with RJ45 and 2 WiFi networks at home. One for my personal usage (ftth, locked router by ISP, static IP but no port forwarding) and the other one is for all home users (dynamic IP but full access to router options). I hooked up OPI using cat5e cable to my router and this connection is working perfectly reliable. I had XR819 hooked up to VDSL router as auxiliary connection (and con…

  4. First of all, hello to everyone. I'm new to this forum so sorry if my question may look stupid, but i've strolled through the internet far and wide. I cannot find simple(for dummies version) step by step tutorial how to connect TFT waveshare knock-off with XPT2046 controller. 5. Hi All! OS - ARMBIAN 5.38 stable Debian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch) 4.14.18-sunxi OPI Zero. armbianEnv.txt : overlay_prefix=sun8i-h3 overlays=uart2 param_uart2_rtscts=1 RTS CTS don't work I check the work of the logical analyzer. The line RTS does not change the voltage during the request for data transmission. This is necessary for me to connect the MAX485 chip to UART2 OPI Zero.

  6. I would like to remove "everything" from the installation, which I don’t need, with the goal to minimize the footprint. I installed tasksel and its show a lot of packages on disk... so my question is what can be removed to keep a basic ubuntu server without a desktop interface and with some most used functions and files. I tried to remove some of them, like… ubuntustudio-videoubuntustudio-photography ubuntustudio-graphics mail-server ubuntu-gnome-desktop ... I can imagine to remove all CD installation and images as well... …but my problem is that if I for example remove “ubuntu-gnome-desktopâ€, the OPI Zero is not answering on ssh request any more. So, for me…

  7. Hi, I'm running Armbian 5.38 with kernel 3.4.113-sun8i on an Orange Pi Zero. I'm writing an audio streaming application using the portaudio library for accessing the soundcard. On a fresh install of Armbian 20.08.1/Linux 5.8.5-sunxi on an OPi Zero (256MB version), total memory is 238MB according to "free -m": root@orangepizero:~# free -m total used free shared buff/cache available Mem: 238 74 78 1 85 154 Swap: 119 0 119 238MB is not 256MB. :-) I assume the discrepancy is due to reserved framebuffer memory, but after a bit of testing I've found that the "sunxi_fb_mem_reserve" parameter (set to "16" in /boot/boot.cmd by default) has no apparent effect. Here's a boot with the Armbian default "sunxi_fb_m…

  9. Hi, Using the latest Armbian release (19.11.3) on OPi Zero (512MB, board revision 1.5) I have a strange issue. On kernel 5.3.x, Ethernet connectivity drops sporadically, around once every couple of minutes, for typically 10 seconds or so and then recovers. When the drop happens, a ping from another machine on the network produces 'no route to host' - then after around 10 seconds or so the network comes back up. The OPi Zero continues running normally during the 'outage', without functional network access. There is nothing in the dmesg log when this happens. Switching to kernel 4.19.62 from armbian-config, everything works perfectly. Back to 5.3.x, the iss…

  10. Is it possible that there have been some image changes that broke the XR819 wifi completely? The available images for download on the Armbian page (5.3 server, and 5.4 minimal) as well as a custom built "legacy" branch linux-4.19 image all show the same behavior, The wlan0 interface is not active and it's not possible to bring it up. And dmesg shows that module has been initialized but not much more. Armbianmonitor support info: 5.3.9 official buster server image: http://ix.io/240Y 4.19.88 self-built, two days ago, legacy branch: http://ix.io/240U Everything below is from the official image, but the 4.19 image shows the exact same It is definitely not a h…

  12. Hi. I'm running Armbian Distro Debian 12 Minimal/IOT with Gnome GUI on an Orange Pi Zero3 2gb and 4gb models. I installed XRDP Xorg to be able to access from Windows 10. I can access the systems remotely, but both machines turn off after a short period of activity, somewhere between 5-10 minutes, whether they're idle or performing some activity. I've already looked for some hibernation/suspend option, but I only found something related to turning off the screen, which didn't solve the problem after being disabled. 16. Orange Pi Lite - Armbian 5.14 The desktop shutdown (or shutdown -h now) shuts down the desktop, the system starts shutting down, then the desktop starts again, then disappears and the system shuts down. Its not a disastrous problem, but just annoying. I've traced it to the fact that 'nodm' is seeing the desktop stop, and then restarting it. Apparently either 'nodm' isn't getting the shutdown signal, or ignoring it, or getting it too late. Any guidance on what 'nodm' config, or some other config might help me to fix this? /K

Well, today I burned again an armbian image with etcher and connect either of the two opi one, to a usb-ttl converter (an arduino). ok, when I put the power on the result is what you see in the attach... the two freeze on DRAM: always. the power is a xiaomi power adapter 5v2a (double checked with a multimeter) and a handmade cable (checked with the multimeter too, 4.8v/4,9v always) so...can I finally tell that my two board are faulty? or there is something I could do? thank you in advance

A year ago, I needed more ports in the shop and got a great deal on this one locally. I didn't need 24 ports or the feature set but it was $40.00. T…

  47. Last year I started a solar-sensing project with the Orange-Pi-Zero (256k), Armbian5.25, legacy kernel and made it work after a while. The Wifi funktion was rather poor and deteriorating, so I ordered a new OpiZero-Plus2-H3, same physical shape and connectors (I thought). Now the -P2 Armbian image 5.30 for the new board loaded perfectly, the Wifi function is really improved due to better hardware. The python part of the code works (still) perfectly. Only (most of) the gpio-functions of my project do not work any more with the new board attached. I use PA07, PA13 and PA14 for bit-bang gpio and a 1-wire sensor via the kernel. I modified the OPi-P2 fex file, shipped wit…

Hello, I leave in a place where we occasionally get really heavy storms or the power gets cut for some reason. This most often does not happen more than five minutes, but there has been longer cases. Now, this poses an obvious problem with my headless server (Orange Pi PC btw). I went on a week trip last month, to discover the development board I needed was completely down. I called a friend and the power had indeed been cut off in my neighbourhood, but my server would no longer respond over SSH. I hard reset the server by power cable and tried restarting sshd (after getting home a week later), just to get warning that the action of the service was queued and afterwards w…

Hey there So I was planning on using the OPZero on a robot that I had already made, which took use of SPIdev, and it was doing calls to the spidev driver in C. Now I noticed that the OPZero has 2 SPI channels, one for the NOR flash (Which isnt populated) on the back and another that goes to the GPIO headers on the device. Now I ran my script, and turns out that /dev/spidev0.0 is actually writing SPI commands to the rear SPI channel. This is apparenly SPI0 according to the schematics. Now following the schematics again, I want to access SPI1, which currently does not exist as a spidev file. I tried "modprobe spidev" to bring up the extra interface, but sadl…

  63. What is the max current that the Orange Pi Plus (or other boards) can output for USB devices? Assume there is a high quality 3A power supply. For example, on Raspberry Pi it is documented here: https://www.raspberrypi.org/help/faqs/#powerReqs Note that the output amount is configurable on RPi (you must manually enable 1.2A output) - is there anything similar for OPi? Here is what needs to be changed in the boot config on an Rpi to change the power from 6mA to 1.2A: http://elinux.org/RPiconfig#USB_Power Thank you!

  95. Started by orangeRK,

I have a problem flashing the oranges. I flash it with a 32G SD card with Linux with a network cable directly to the switch. After the process is finished, I turn off the orange and remove the card and turn it on again, but the orange LED (communication) on the network card stops working. This occurs in every 10 oranges flashed, 1 or two this type of error occurs. What is the solution?

  97. I am getting significant graphical issues with most programs on the "Jammy Gnome desktop" version. I also saw similar issues under KDE desktop after clicking a button relating to OpenGL in the graphics settings (and couldn't figure out how to get that dialog back or undo the setting). I would prefer to stick with Gnome, I assume this issue has something to do with hardware/graphics acceleration having an issue, the application launcher seems to be immune from the issue. Sorry, I am quite a noob when it comes to Linux/programming related stuff, I couldn't find any other mentions about similar issues in this forum. The issue happens on both this 5" LCD and an HDMI TV at 4k.

  99. Hello everyone! Yesterday I downloaded "Armbian 23.5 Jammy". Unfortunately the integrated wifi module does not work. I tried several alternatives but with the same problem. I am not an expert on the subject. Any solution? I'm trying to compile and in one of the steps it tells me that the "Orange Pi 3 LTS - H6" is no longer supported. If anyone knows and can help would be appreciated. https://paste.armbian.com/varepekose Original: Hola a todos! En el dia de ayer descargue "Armbian 23.5 Jammy".
