  1. Been dreaming of this one for a while. Finally got a weekend to focus on it recently. I'm hoping someone is eager to take what I've done and move It along some more. Here's what we have so far. * a linux 'family' called virtual.conf * a kernel config called linux-virtual-current.config * a board called virtual-qemu.wip The result is a full HVM accelerated armbian image with a kernel compiled with all the virtio drivers for disk, network and video. Also a u-boot.bin made for qemu that can boot the image when used as the qemu bios/firmware I've ran it as a VM on ubuntu using plain qemu on a Ampere eMag box.. and using UTM (qem…

Good news. Thanks to the work of many, there is now a real opportunity to run the Armbian system with the main core on Jetson Nano, and more importantly, it is easy to integrate the image build process into the official GIT Armbian. In the near future, I plan to post ready-made images with the latest kernel 5.10.22 on the download site. To run them, you need to update u-boot to Jetson Nano. This is very easy to do, just run the latest official version of Ubuntu for Jetson Nano from the SD card, it will update itself in SPI (?) u-boot to the latest version (2020.04), after that you can run Armbian from any SD card or USB media. The new u-boot supports automatic syst…

  6. Hi, My Solidrun Cubox I1-300-D has been running Armbian for quite some time (Samsung EVO SD card). However, I tried to update/upgrade, and my version was non-supported anymore (19.04?), so time for a fresh new image. I've tried three times (download image from https://www.armbian.com/cubox-i/, sha256 check, burn image with etcher, inspect file structure (looks good), and boot), but each time this happens: "Armbian universal operating system" + text ("Executing script at ...") splash screen, then a black screen, and then my TV says "no signal", and then nothing anymore. Hi, Beside some limitations with cubox's hardware I love my cubox-i 4x4. But it is hard to find good documentation about how to many things. Reading this forum and other webs I made many of my goals. After installing Debian from this web site and using the nand-sata-install script the system works from the hard drive. This hard drive has two partitions, the main and big one and one small, 4GB, swap partition, but the system is not using it, so I would like to know if I can make the system use it. I found this how to: 9. Setting Up Swap Space 9.1. Swap Files Normally, there are only two steps to setting up swap space, creating the partition and adding it to /etc/…

  21. Hey All - So I decided to upgrade my Udoo from 4.5 (Debian Jessia, kernel 3.14.28) to the latest 5.25 Xenial. I gave next (4.4.46) a try, and it seemed to work awesome, however it seems like no one wants 1wire (still - it only takes up 1 gpio!). I built custom kernels enabling 1wire in the kernel and updated (or for default adding) 1wire to be enabiled in the imx6qdl-udoo.dtsi, however after I install the kernels, it just sits indefinitely at the red Armbian logo on boot. On 4.4.46, i was able to just install all the debs via dpkg -i *.deb On 3.14.56, I had to use dpkg --force-all -i *.deb Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? Its been a while, so I'm s…

The system starts automatically. Important. Image output to the monitor works only in graphical mode (in images with DE). Console output currently only works in UART, so you need a UART console or SSH connection for initial startup. Hey, which kernel did you use for the provided Hummingboard image (wheezy)? Is it a self-patched linux-linaro or the latest from solidrun (linux-fslc)? My test tells me, that it is the one from solidrun as I'm not able to use PCI on my HB pro. I've recognized it using the current devel of OpenELEC which also uses kernel 3.14.60 from solidrun. An older version of OpenELEC (e.g. 6.0.3) or Armbian (eg. 4.4 using 3.14.53) works quite good. The PCI driver and the dts changed quite a lot between those kernel repositories. Do you have any suggestions how to fix that? My tries all ended in a boot hang (black screen).

Hi, I've just created a SD-card with Armbian Bionic (mainline kernel 4.19.y) for a Hummingboard Gate. I noticed during boot that it says it uses U-boot version 2013.10-rc4. This seems quite old compared to the 2018 version that was on the Debian Stretch image from SolidRun. I've tried to search the internet to see what the impact of something like this is and wasn't able to find something that made sense to me (could be entirely my fault). I therefore have the question: Is the U-boot version intentional? (maybe it has some features that newer versions have dropped.)

Foreward: Not sure if this better fits in board bring up, but I can't post there, so feel free to move if appropriate. I'm looking into the feasibility of using the Armbian build system to generate OS images for the Avnet MicroZed board. This board is based on the Xilinx Zynq 7000 platform, which is a SoC made up of a dual core 500 MHz CPU, and a Artix-7 generation FPGA. The CPU is nothing to write home about, but the FPGA opens up an interesting array of possibilities. Just in case you need an ARM board with 100+ GPIO, over two dozen serial ports, or your own function generator. Really, you're limited only by pin count, FPGA fabric usage, and what you can man…

I was trying to plug my Arduino uno into my Udoo quad but it does not appear to be assigned to a serial port, which i believe should appear as ttyACM*. when searching the kernel github page i see these relults https://github.com/patrykk/linux-udoo/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=ACM. Is it possible to get these devices supported in your next kernel release?

A couple years back a company named TBS, mostly known for their DTV hardware, released a mini PC styled thing. It's called the TBS2910 Matrix and was marketed mostly as a Kodi box. Sadly it doesn't seem the product made the sales necessary to keep the company interested - which in my view is a shame since it's got some interesting hardware features: Quad-core i.MX6 CPU (1GHz) 2GB DDR3 Ram MiniPCIe slot 16GB eMMC Storage SATA connector with 12V power, capable of powering a 3.5" HDD On-board 2.4GHz Wifi Gigabit ethernet (likely limited to 400Mbps or so) 3 USB 2.0 ports + 1 mini USB otg port 1 full-size SD slot, 1 microSD slot HDMI, analog and optical audio out I…

  90. I just ran apt-get update && apt-get upgrade, sure enough, a new kernel was downloaded. Due to a non-standard wifi chip, I always run KMS before rebooting, giving the new kernel version as an argument. (The automatic install on reboot didn't work so well in the past) It seems now that something is not right with the new kernel headers. I have not rebooted yet, out of fear the system might be unstable then. I finally got my Udoo Dual up and running with Mainline 4.4 Xenial Next and I was wondering how I go about getting the arduino environment back on to it. I downloaded the arm version from arduino and it sees the correct serial port but how do I access it within arduino. I updated the board package to include the Udoo boards but when I hit upload, it says bossac tools are unavailable for my board? What do I need to do to fix this? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  95. Hello, first of all thank you for the development of the Armbian software. I am currently using version Armbian_22.08.2_Uefi-x86_bullseye_current_5.15.69 on my Terramaster F5-221. Unfortunately I have two small problems. Firstly, there is no linux header for the kernel used for compiling. Secondly, unfortunately I can't add a network interface in openmediavault. That always gives me an error. It works on Debian with Openmediavault. unfortunately this surprises me. Failed to execute command 'export PATH=/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin; export LANG=C.UTF-8; export LANGUAGE=; omv-salt deploy run --no-color systemd-networkd 2…

  96. Wondering if it is possible to replace pfsense (freebsd 14) with Armbian on a netgate sg-2100 appliance? https://shop.telappliant.com/product/sg-2100-pfsense-security-gateway-appliance/ I have the version with an additional 32GB M.2 SSD and it looks like the mvebu_armada-37xx board is supported by the generic Armbian, but I struggle to get from u-boot to starting the installer from usb (used the Armbian_23.5.1_Uefi-arm64_bookworm_current_6.1.30_minimal.img), with the usbboot command. Below is the current u-boot environment. I have masked some parts with "xxxxx" and probably won't need half of these variables, as they are very vendor specific, for example netgateid etc…

  97. I am running Armbian_4.5_Cubox-i_Ubuntu_trusty_3.14.54 on a CuBox i4 Pro. The application is a security camera server and the current test environment consists of the server and two IP cameras set to 320x240 and running at 5 fps. The server is receiving these two streams over the Ethernet interface constantly but the data rate is pretty low. I am seeing the Ethernet interface fail after 24 to 48 hours with the syslog entries shown below. After the failure I can restart the link with ifdown/ifup and it works fine. Has anyone else seen a similar issue? Oct 29 11:56:09 localhost kernel: [ 0.505433] libphy: fec_enet_mii_bus: probed Oct 29 11:56:09 localhost kerne…

  99. Hello, I have recently tried a more recent kernel 5.10.x for my HummingBoard with imx6 solo. After playing with GPU/OpenGL acceleration I have noticed that there is no H.264/MJPEG Video acceleration present in the kernel. The video codec Chips&Media 960 driver module (kernel option VIDEO_CODA) is simply not build in. Why is that? Can it be enabled by default for future IMX6 builds? Thanks for your support!!
