Hi all. I'm working on a script that can install different Linux gaming tools like Box86, Box64, PPSSPP, ... For now it can only install box86 and box64. There is also an issue installing wine, so this doesn't work either. https://github.com/NicoD-SBC/armbian-gaming Download and unzip and run script : sudo /bin/bash ./armbian-gaming.sh When ready I'll make a video about it and give more info. I've tested it on the PineBookPro with Hirsute. With the Odroid N2+ you need to activate panfrost, install dependecies for N2+, and then install box86. Tho it didn't work as it should. If "install box86" gives a build error, t…

Download Armbian with HA (v25.2) Then boot the image, wait few minutes and login via http://ip_address_of_armbian_running_ha:8123 (official onboarding manual) Home Assistant Supervised is, more or less, a full blown Home assistant. Install Home Assistant on any Armbian Bookworm (experimental) Main difference between HA OS and Armbian with HA is that underlying OS here is clean Armbian Debian Bookworm and there is custom dedicated buildroot OS that is provided for a few single board computers, primarily for Raspberry Pi. We provide HA on a small selection of single board computers, but in theory, its possible to run this on (a…

Hi there, I am trying to blacklist a module by adding 'blacklist rtl2832_sdr' to /etc/modprobe.d/rtl2832_sdr.conf I follow this by issuing 'update-initramfs -u' and rebooting. This is a standard way of doing things on Linux, yet somehow all of the modules continue to show up. System is up to date, running on Orange Pi Zero 3, if that matters. I expect this is a bug of some sort, since I saw it mentioned elsewhere here in the forums that this is the way to go, too?

Hello all. I have 3 pi5s running Armbian and 1 pc running windows10. Prior to changing from Bookworm to Armbian all boxes would communicate well with each other. Now only windows explorer communicates with the Pis. The Pis do not see each other nor Windows. I tried (almost) everything and nothing works. This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or is only available from another source Error: Package 'wsdd' has no installation candidate>> so I installed WSDD2 and made reference to it and still no go. I'm currently trying to set up an Orange Pi PC, Armbian 23.8 Bookworm. After the first boot via ssh and performing `sudo apt-get update`, I see that the Armbian project seemingly using the official Debian mirrors to update the Debian itself, as well as Yandex mirrors to update the Armbian-specific software ( http://mirror.yandex.ru/mirrors/armbian/apt ). The device connects to the official Debian mirrors without any issue, but can't connect to the Yandex mirrors, since most Ukrainian ISPs enforce censorship by banning major Russian websites, which includes the yandex.ru domain. This leads to this warning after performing `sudo apt-get update`: ``` …

Hello everyone, I’m currently trying to develop an Electron-based application to run on the Orange Pi PC Plus (ARM platform), but I’ve hit a few roadblocks in the build process. My goal is to package and distribute the app so it can be run directly on this specific device, but I’m struggling with issues related to cross-compiling and creating binaries compatible with its architecture. Has anyone here successfully built and deployed an Electron app on an Orange Pi or a similar ARM board? I would really appreciate any guidance, tips, or recommended tools for accomplishing this.

I'm using smokeping on 2 ubuntu server without any issue, but on my armbian server (Armbian 22.11.1 Jammy) it doesn't update the rrd-files properly. As far as I see it all configs are identical. My rrds always looks like this: rrdtool fetch /var/lib/smokeping/Local/googlecom.rrd AVERAGE 1674323100: nan 2.0000000000e+01 nan nan nan nan nan nan nan nan nan nan nan nan nan nan nan nan nan nan nan nan nan It does updating, but always only the second value with these 2.000000000+01. What could be the issue? Before smokeping had an issue with my $LC_ALL but I updated it and now it should be fine. smokeinfo /etc/smokeping/config ### a…

As configured on install (at least in 24.8.4 I installed), the netplan config files try to manage all networking interfaces - which breaks the virtual bridge interfaces that containers and VM managers like Podman, Docket, etc create and use. See https://github.com/moby/moby/issues/40217#issuecomment-2041628162 for more information If networkctl shows podman* or veth* as managed then this is probably the problem breaking your container networking. To work around this issue, I modified the file /etc/netplan/10-dhcp-all-interfaces.yaml to only manage en* interfaces rather than all interfaces, followed by netplan apply. # Added by…

Hello community! I’ve been a lurker for a while and recently flashed the latest Armbian Jammy onto a spare NanoPi NEO I had lying around. I'm currently designing a headless DIY time-tracking kiosk for a small local workshop using an RC522 RFID reader via SPI. Reading the RFID tags and logging the raw Unix timestamps (punch-in/punch-out) to a local SQLite database was the easy part. Where I'm getting a bit stuck is the actual backend calculation logic. I need the system to accurately calculate the daily net working hours, which means automatically deducting mandatory statutory breaks (e.g., 30 mins after 6 hours of work) and tracking daily overtime. …

Hiya, I've been using OMV for a year or two with no issues. There were several updates to Armbian and other packages recently which caused a number of errors and the system going to sleep on my Windows network and not waking up. Sorry for a n00b questions but I'm confused with Armbian version names 😀 1) I'm using an ARMhf board with a Jammy 6.6. I see ports.ubuntu.com in Apt log. But on which kernel is it based? On the Ubuntu website, I don't see a 6.6 kernel at all. Or is it a kernel from https://www.kernel.org? In armbian-config I see 6.1, 6.6, and 6.7 versions available for download, but all of them are also not listed on Ubuntu's website. Which is the most stable and recommended Armbian version to use? 2) Which version is the next after Jammy? Noble? On the Ubuntu website, I see v24.04, on the Armbian website I see v24.5. Why Armbian version is newer than …

Hi! I have a problem with the Banana Pi M2 Zero. I am trying to use its one wire interface, but with no success. I have enabled the w1-gpio module in the armbian-config menu, but I still cannot get it to work. I tried using the neopixels library, within python for the control of the leds. The GPIO as I saw that should work on is GPIO 4, Board pin 7. The neopixel library says that the board is not supported, however it lists the M2 Zero as a possible board interface. I also added to armbianEnv.txt the param_w1_pin=PA6, which is supposed to deliver PWM1 signal as well. Can anyone help me, to get it to work? Thank you in advance!

The problem it's trying to solve: if you're picking hardware for a local voice/STT workload, vendor numbers don't tell you much and blog posts go stale fast. GOESB is meant to be the place you can actually check "does this board run faster-whisper medium in real time, or do I need to drop to tiny and eat the accuracy hit." Right now the leaderboard is entirely x86…

Hey, Where can I find the latest images for the Odroid HC1 and ZeroPi? https://www.armbian.com/odroid-xu4/ https://www.armbian.com/zero-pi/ I understand that both SBCs are quite old and probably long forgotten by Armbian users, but I need a clean install on both and am looking for the latest existing images. I tried looking at https://armbian.lv.auroradev.org/archive, but it seems not everything is there. Thanks in advance for any help. PS Anyone still using these SBCs? Are there any alternatives in 2026 at reasonable prices?

Hello, I encounted an issue with chromium. By default, armbian has PSD (profile-sync-deamon) enabled, and when chromium started, it links the profile dir (~/.config/chromium) to /run/user/1000/chromium-user However, it breaks the cookies. If I reboot the box, and start chromium to visit a website I logged in, the login session was lost. I took me much time to understand the reason, finally I found it's the symbolic link. The temp solution for me is that I disabled the psd service, and the profile directory won't become a symbolic link. Now it works well. Next, I tried to find if it is psd or the symbolic link. I copied the profil…

Hi Unfortunately, I use an Odroid N2 (and N2+) for nextcloud installed via the nextcloudpi script. Now, the support is gone and there are no longer updates for nextcloud beyond version 30.0.x available. Currently I am running nextcloud 30.0.17. The version 30.0.x will reach end-of-support soon. I can imagine the following alternatives: Use armbian-config to install nextcloud - but will it do the update correctly or at all esp. for my external disks which nextcloud is using ? Use the image for the Odroid C2 (another arm-based SBC) and replace the kernel by the one for the Odroid N2+ Port the script from the Odroid C2 image to my O…

Just did a fresh install of latest Ubuntu 26.04 Gnome build on a Pine Quartz64 A board. After an `apt update` running `apt upgrade` tries to update the `linux-libc-dev` package, which is downloaded from `ports.ubuntu.com`. However it consistently fails with a 404. Digging around a little, it seems like this package should match the kernel that's in use, so is the underlying problem that `apt` is trying to download it from the ubuntu repo instead of the armbian one where the kernel package comes from? I have not modified any apt configuration since installing.

Looks like the package in subject is not in the repos. However, there are other packages depending on it (explicitly indicating that the required version is >=25.8.2) so this prevents package updates. Interestingly, for the armhf target the package is available, so I suspect a build issue. Any clue?

It seems to me that the mesa packages that Armbian provides are broken, but I see no mention of this anywhere so maybe it's something I'm doing? I'm using an Orange Pi Zero 3, which I believe is experimental but I don't see any evidence that the packages of interest are specific to this board. It looks like Armbian provides a new version of libgl1-mesa-dri that relies on a newer version of libdrm-amdgpu1 than what is available in the default debian bookworm repo: ben@orangepizero3:~$ sudo apt-get install libgl1-mesa-dev Reading package lists... 2 Claudes 5 Agents, diff'ing, searching and boom we found it. "A subtle bug the vendor introduced and nobody upstream has fixed, in code you already live in. The RK3588 VOP2 port copied RK3568's layer-latch mechanism but dropped the one wait that makes it work — and mainline sidesteps the whole thing in hardware, so no one's ever going to fix it in the BSP but you. Be honest on confidence: the code defect is register-confirmed (high); that it's the flicker rests on the mutter-direct-scanout inference (medium) — which is exactly what the MUTTER_DEBUG=disable-direct-scanout test nails in two minutes." HW Acceleration came back, Address bars and Search bars se…

The problem is, both with the -X and -Y options, I can't forward X successfully. DISPLAY doesn't get passed. On the Mac side, it's variously ":0" or something like "/private/tmp/com.apple.launchd.Cvf3IlZ6rM/org.xquartz:0" (which would have no meaning to another machine). I've set to :0 , :0.0 , mymac.local:0 (after enterin…

Was using a 5.15.x version of Arabian on an orange pi 4, and upgraded to latest 6.7.x image seems to have broken low level usb (specifically USB to ACM devices). Used the following command to reset an STM32 device over USB (stm32 is connected directly to USB and shows up as a ttyACM0 device in linux) python -c 'import termios; termios.tcsendbreak(3, 0)' 3>/dev/ttyACM0 this worked great but now no longer does. Any ideas? Anyway we can test if its an updated driver issue by reverting to older usb driver or possible a kernel issue? Seems to be a Armbian specific issue, since ubuntu on amd64 system with 6.x kernel works fine …

I’m trying to help people use my Pi Hat with RPi clones and everything works, except for the DS18B20 temperature sensors. Using current versions of Armbian on both a Banana Pi M2 Zero, a Banana Pi M4 Berry, and an Orange Pi 3B, but no devices show up in /sys/bus/w1/devices. /etc/modules contains: w1-gpio w1-therm /boot/armbianEnv.txt contains: overlays=w1-gpio param_w1_pin=PA6 param_w1_pin_int_pullup=1 NOTE: PA6 is used so that it matches up with the default 1-Wire pin used on an RPi. These hats are already built, I can’t change this to a different pin.

I installed Waydroid on an Amlogic Meson GXM (S912) TV box. The SOC has a Mali-T820 GPU, and the box has 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of eMMC. This was easy to do and Waydroid worked, but it was very slow, even before it heated the SOC to 80°C, which is probably its throttling limit. I removed Waydroid because it was too slow. I wasn't trying anything demanding. Even navigating Android Settings was ridiculously slow. This is a bit surprising because the hardware was designed for running Android. I was not running much else, just Wayfire and one or two Alacritty consoles. I don't think I was running out of memory. Is it possible to get decent Waydroid performance on o…

armbian jammy, uptodate a/o yesterday, on 6 pack of bananapi-m5's running a 3d printer farm. You made chrome the default browser, which has port 80 high jacked for all of googles BS. So you can't use chrome for local web page troubleshooting, or to run klipper. localhost:80 is not accessible, neither is the machines fqdn:80. Can this bit of commercial hi-jacking be defeated? FF, installed as a snap and auto-updated nightly works fine, but because its a snap, must be restarted every day. That is a classic PITA. So, how do I make FF's snap the default browser?

Basic tool to change screen orientation and its touch input on gnome wayland desktops. Built for Gnome Wayland and displays without automatic touch input rotation after orientation change. Sadly xrandr and xinput are things of the past in times of wayland. And since I mounted a FHD touchscreen to my rock-5b which can be rotated, this caused some trouble for me. Mabye useful fur other people mounting displays with touch support on their SBC's in crazy spots 😛 Basically it's just a combination of gnome-randr.py and creating a udev rule with calibration matrix. Cross-posting this because it took a while to untangle, and most guides out there are either vendor-BSP/rkmpp (the wrong stack for mainline) or they stop at "it says hardware accelerated" without checking whether it actually is. Tested on an Orange Pi 5B, mainline Debian 13 (trixie), kernel 7.1.3+deb13-arm64, panthor + PanVK, Wayfire. Should apply to any RK3588/RK3588S board on a mainline stateless-decode kernel (Rock 5B, OPi 5, etc.). Corrections welcome; I'd rather this be right than mine. First, the thing that trips everyone up: on mainline, rkmpp is not your path. Rockchip's MPP library (the thing that hardware-decodes at ~9% CPU on the vendor…
