after i disconnect from ssh of opiz and wait a few hours, after trying to connect nothing happens for ~10 seconds (no network packets from opiz), but after waiting it starts responding and then it works fine until i disconnect and wait again. this is present on opiz in debian armbian 08.23, 11.23, bleeding edge build from yesterday. this is not present on opi pc+ in build 11.23. this doesn't affect any other network services, only affects ssh.

Hello everyone, I recently installed the version "Armbian 23.11.1 bookworm" on an old Odroid C2, mainly to run Openhab there. Now I wanted to be informed about certain events on my Fritzbox (e.g. window open for too long) via linphone and I also found instructions for this: https://community.openhab.org/t/make-dect-phones-e-g-fritzfons-connected-to-fritzbox-ring-as-alerting-mechanism-from-openhab-should-be-useful-also-to-have-openhab-make-arbitrary-phone-calls-with-alerts-announcements/132940 I installed the package “linphone-nogtk” with version 5.1.65-4. I'm currently trying to set up an Orange Pi PC, Armbian 23.8 Bookworm. After the first boot via ssh and performing `sudo apt-get update`, I see that the Armbian project seemingly using the official Debian mirrors to update the Debian itself, as well as Yandex mirrors to update the Armbian-specific software ( http://mirror.yandex.ru/mirrors/armbian/apt ). The device connects to the official Debian mirrors without any issue, but can't connect to the Yandex mirrors, since most Ukrainian ISPs enforce censorship by banning major Russian websites, which includes the yandex.ru domain. This leads to this warning after performing `sudo apt-get update`: ``` …

My system boots from EMMC and the entire system is on EMMC. I make a nightly clone of the entire system to an SD card for backup purposes. For some reason the system sees both the EMMC and the SD when I try to boot it from the clone, and chooses the EMMC. Is there a way to force the system to boot from the SD card?

I have Armbian on OrangePi One. It is connected to the TV via HDMI, and has a USB card with headphones connected. I installed LXDE on it via tasksel and found that only one audio device in the mixer is visible in software at a time: either hdmi if the USB card is disabled, or headphones otherwise. Is it possible to teach a microcomputer, like a desktop computer, to see multiple audio devices at the same time?

Hi all, I've been using Armbian on two Cubietrucks for a decade and had to install the latest version (CLI Armbian 23.8 Bookworm Kernel of Aug 31, 2023) to one of them. The other still runs Buster to my fullest satisfaction. What I noticed, however, is that - among other changes - APM is no longer available. Therefore: Is there any other way to reliably cause HDD spindown after a certain time (say 20 min) even if there's no battery-power mode but 24/7 AC power? Thanks in advance for any help. Giunti

I've seen OrangePI 5 mentioning they have support, but it's unclear if the software support is there in any way; i assume all rk3588 (or likley hdmi 2.1 certified) boards will have hdmi (hardware) support. armbian jammy, uptodate a/o yesterday, on 6 pack of bananapi-m5's running a 3d printer farm. You made chrome the default browser, which has port 80 high jacked for all of googles BS. So you can't use chrome for local web page troubleshooting, or to run klipper. localhost:80 is not accessible, neither is the machines fqdn:80. Can this bit of commercial hi-jacking be defeated? FF, installed as a snap and auto-updated nightly works fine, but because its a snap, must be restarted every day. That is a classic PITA. So, how do I make FF's snap the default browser?

I take regular backups from my linux boxes (rsyncing the file system). To resume, I boot from usb, copy the files to the disk of the box and then make it bootable by chrooting into the box and executing grub-install or update-grub. That works fine. Hey everyone, I want to share something pretty simple that I was working on: a way to customize the official image, maybe it's not the best way of doing it, but it worked for my needs. https://github.com/thiagosanches/yet-another-armbian-bakery/ The main goal is: WIFI up at the first boot. Make some small adjustments on SSH configuration. Change root password. Add a pi user. Add a public key so I can connect orange pi through and manage it through ansible (important topic). Any thoughts? It ain't much but it's a honest work!

Can you include the wireguard module in the kernel, please? It's missing from Armbian 23.05.0-trunk Bullseye with Linux 5.4.239-odroidxu4. Hello, I downloaded recent Armbian image for Orange Pi PC Plus - 23.05.1. When I run it, the screen resolution is 720x576 and virtual resolution 1024x768. I changed armbianEnv.txt - defined disp_mode=1280x800p60 (this is what I need) and also used fbset command in my application and it works in most cases, but sometimes after system restart the screen resolution is the default (720x576) and can't be changed - I get error - "ioctl FBIOPUT_VSCREENINFO: Invalid argument". How can this be fixed? Thanks in advance.

Hi! I'm trying to build a cluster of a few Odroid N2+, with Microk8s. I installed and tested it on the first board that I'm designating as the primary node. Hey, I've had issues using Wireguard in Armbian. I worked out a method to install but on reinstalls this method has run into problems. I've since developed a new method but am getting a strange error as below. Can anyone interpret this and tell me if it's likely to be problematic and if so is there a way forward? I've searched the Wireguard repository and there doesn't seem to be an arch specific buildset. TIA The /var/lib/dkms/wireguard/1.0.20210219/6.1.11-rockchip64/aarch64/dkms.conf for module wireguard includes a BUILD_EXCLUSIVE directive which does not match this kernel/arch. This indicates that it should not be built. Skipped.

I am trying to debug some sporadic issues with my wireless chip (AP6212 - on a BPI-M2 Zero). Looking through other forum posts, I'm wondering if the proper firmware is being loaded, as well as the proper NVRAM settings. I'm not new to Linux (I started using Linux around 97), but I haven't really dove into wireless firmware before, and it's all pretty mysterious to me. A previous forum post points out that the AP6212-specific firmware might not be being loaded. I checked, and in fact, it wasn't loading the firmware from the AP6212 (it looked like it wasn't loading any firmware - it was looking for brcmfmac43430-sdio.sinovoip,bpi-m2-zero.bin but only brcmfmac43430-sdio.…

Currently we get 'sduuid' in form of [[ -z $sdblkid ]] && sdblkid=$(blkid -o full /dev/mmcblk*p1) # 3 - Extract the UUID from $sdblkid via regex: sduuid=$(echo "$sdblkid" | sed -nE 's/^.*[[:space:]]UUID="([0-9a-zA-Z-]*)".*/\1/p') which outputs only UUID 78cdc7b8-0f2e-4444-ba7c-38aa26198de1 This is fine, as long as we use it correctly afterwards, but everytime we modifify fstab, echo "${sduuid} /media/mmcboot ext4 ${mountopts[ext4]}" >> "${TempDir}"/rootfs/etc/fstab echo "/media/mmcboot/boot /boot none bind 0 0" >> "${TempDir}"/rootfs/etc/fstab which results in # <file system> <moun…

Running latest Armbian 23.02 Jammy XFCE on my Orange Pi 3 LTS. I need to change the color depth for Sky Chart which needs 16 or 24 bit. When I try to open the Display Setting I get the following pop up: Unable to open the Xfce Display Settings. Unable to query the version of the RandR extension being used. What's wrong and how do I fix it ? Thanks.

I’m assuming this is to do with the kernel but otherwise have no idea. I’ve had no problems with this Wireguard plugin on a 32bit Libre Bullseye install on a Renegade but was unable to get 64bit Bullseye to accept login creds so opted for Armbian. Now unable to use the plugin at all. Anyone have any ideas? I’ve tried the 6.1.11 edge kernel but Wireguard broke this too. Not sure what else to try. Attempted to get Libre kernels to load without success - way above my skillset for now. TIA

Hey there, I'm trying to use gstreamer as a video player for the tinkerboard 2 armbian build (Armbian Bookworm XFCE desktop stable). It seems that the VPU isn't used correctly, I only get about 20FPS for a 1080p mp4 video (h_264) and CPU flies to a 100%+. On the original and not so good orignal operating system (TinkerOS) there was an extra gstreamer sink plugin made for the RK3999 (rkimagesink). I tried to compile the original plugin from sources (https://github.com/TinkerBoard2/external-gstreamer-rockchip), but there are several dependencies missing and I can't find them either on github / apt. Any idea how to make gstreamer use th…

I have been running Armbian on a Pinebook Pro without issues. I use the stable distribution, but after an update about a week ago (I think) the Panfrost driver has stopped working. When logging into the desktop environment (Cinnamon) the symptom is a black screen with a cursor visible but nothing else. Checking the logs I see a bunch of lines like: > Mar 20 09:29:05 pine kernel: [ 534.502108] panfrost ff9a0000.gpu: js fault, js=0, status=DATA_INVALID_FAULT, head=0xb9f2b40, tail=0xb9f2b40 If I log in by disabling hardware rendering (choosing "Cinnamon (Software Rendering)") then the desktop does display and work (albeit very slow…

I don't quite know where to post this. I hope I am in the right place. When migrating a system from an armbian_23.02.2_Orangepi4-lts_jammy_current_5.15.93_xfce_desktop image to a SSD, armbian-install creates a broken line in /etc/fstab. The third line is missing the introductory "UUID=". The line then looks like this: xxxxxxxx-yyy-yyy-yyy-xxxxxx /media/mmcboot ext4 defaults,noatime,commit=600 ....etc. As a result, /media/mmcboot is not mounted, of course, and the boot process aborts with a cli root-login. Completing the line allows the system to boot normally. UUID=xxxxxxxx-yyy-yyy-yyy-xxxxxx /media/mmcboot ext4 defaults,noatime,commit=600 ....etc. …

First, thanks to you guys for the great work you are doing for armbian! I am quite impressed and very happy to be able to run my odroid devices (c2, m1) on the latest kernel with zfs and lxd! What I'm wondering: since there is no such thing as do-release-upgrade in armbian: What are your best practices for upgrades to avoid being forced to always install and configure everything from scratch? Since I run most everything in lxd containers and use zfs on a separate disk, upgrading is as simple as installing/compiling zfs and lxd and restoring the lxd databases, but maybe there is a better approach besides reinstalling and compiling packages?

Hi, My journald logs are limited to last midnight. I figured out it's related to logrotate.service. Hi all. I am trying to autologin and auto startx BSPWM but all I get is a black screen when calling startx. Here's my .bash_profile if [ -z "${DISPLAY}" ] && [ "${XDG_VTNR}" -eq 1 ]; then exec startx fi The bspwmrc has permissions 700. Permissions on sxhkdrc is 600. I even gave execute permissions to .xinitrc (below). #!/bin/sh . /etc/X11/Xsession polybar default & sxhkd & exec bspwm It happens if I manually call it, and even when I explicitly tell it to start bspwm (i.e. startx bspwm). Hello, I tried to reduce the clock frequency with nano /etc/default/cpufrequtils. I also set the governor to userspace in order to enable direct frequency setting. I am trying to connect to my armbian install (on an orange pi 4 LTS) from OSX (with Xquartz) to run the mythtv backend setup. I didn't install the desktop version of armbian; just the base version, and with the image for this model of pi. connecting by SSH is not a problem, I happily get through. On the Mac side, it's variously ":0" or something like "/private/tmp/com.apple.launchd.Cvf3IlZ6rM/org.xquartz:0" (which would have no meaning to another machine). I've set to :0 , :0.0 , mymac.local:0 (after enterin…

Hi! I have a problem with the Banana Pi M2 Zero. I am trying to use its one wire interface, but with no success. I have enabled the w1-gpio module in the armbian-config menu, but I still cannot get it to work. I tried using the neopixels library, within python for the control of the leds. The GPIO as I saw that should work on is GPIO 4, Board pin 7. The neopixel library says that the board is not supported, however it lists the M2 Zero as a possible board interface. I also added to armbianEnv.txt the param_w1_pin=PA6, which is supposed to deliver PWM1 signal as well. Can anyone help me, to get it to work? Thank you in advance!

Hi! I am not using a GUI. I configured a static IP address via netplan (generated and applied the config) and installed a dhcp server. The dhcp server sometimes kept failing to start on reboot. Checking the logs showed that even though the isc-dhcp-server depends on the network being configured before it tries to start, that actually systemd sometimes starts isc-dhcp-server b…

Hi Guys, I am looking for an OEM camera for my Robotic ARM project. Can anyone suggest me a camera that can be compatible with NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin development kit? I came across e-con Systems’ cameras that can be compatible with Jetson AGX Orin. Has anyone tried e-con Systems’ cameras before? The listed cameras are perfectly suiting my needs. But I would like to know if any other options are available in the market. It would be great if you could suggest me the same.
