Hi, I compiled from scratch an armbian image and kernel, and in these ones the eMMC /dev/mmcblk1 is not present. If I try the (outdated 4.14) official images, the eMMC is present. Any ideas ? Thanks https://pastebin.pl/view/ba06da6f

I found my NanoPi Neo Air's could not list or connect to some wifi networks. Some investigating found this was because channel 12/13 are disabled by default. Nothing in runtime had any effect on the output of iw reg get as it should have. Patching in some firmware fixes worked for me. wget http://ftp.be.debian.org/pub/software/network/wireless-regdb/wireless-regdb-2025.02.20.tar.xz tar xf wireless-regdb-2025.02.20.tar.xz sudo cp wireless-regdb-2025.02.20/regulatory.db /lib/firmware/ sudo cp wireless-regdb-2025.02.20/regulatory.db.p7s /lib/firmware/ sudo iw reg set AU #Australia I can now connect to wifi channel 13. Now for my question: …

I am copying a folder from one drive to another. The transfer operation encounters duplicate files and ask me to Replace, Replace All, Skip, Skip All ,etc. Some of the files may be the same filename but different file-size (e.g., one is bigger than the other). If I choose Skip All, will Armbian Skip regardless of file-size? Or, if I select Skip All, will it show another message when it encounters same filename but different filesize?

Dears, I have recently posted several issues wrt. OPi0+. GPIO (sysfs), armbian-config (bug confirmed by Igor), WiFi AP, GPIO event handling. Except for GPIO, where high activity is going on, I cannot find anything in "GitHub-issues" about the other problems, I have raised. I therefore would like to know, what would be the right place to rise issues? Here in the forum, or in GitHub? I mean "issues", not "how tos"

Hello. I've searched here, the Libre computer forums, even tried "cheating" with asking chatgpt. Using a "Le Potato" AML-S905X-CC with Armbian Jammy 22.04.2 LTS. I've gotten far enough to be able to read the switch on the GPIO with pulled to 0 reading as 1. button untouched: ~$ sudo gpioget --active-low gpiochip1 97 0 button pressed: :~$ sudo gpioget --active-low gpiochip1 97 1 From here though, I can't seem to figure out what to do next. I've seen suggestions to use a python script with a sleep to using device overlays. The device overlay examples I see using armbian are typically for orange Pis and I can't seem to extrapolate to the le potato g…

I've just downloaded the latest Armbian Buster image with kernel 5. I have installed OMV via the Softy solution as well as manually via https://forum.openmediavault.org/index.php/Thread/25062-Install-OMV5-on-Debian-10-Buster/#codeLine_2_c9c4c4 which has worked previously. After the install the we bserver loads the default Nginx page, however after a reboot nothing works. Any thoughts? I'm about to try kernel 4 The same thing happens on Kernel 4. I'm wondering if there was an OMV update that broke the install...

All of the docs that I see on how to use the kernel gpio_keys refers to dts (device tree). The kernel module is present in Armbian legacy 5.20 Jessie Desktop. /lib/modules/3.4.112...../gpio_keys.ko I understand it should map gpio inputs to keystrokes. But all usage/configuration info I can find refers to entries made in Device Tree -- gpio-keys { compatible = "gpio-keys"; left-key { label = "Left key"; gpios = <&gpio0 17 0>; linux, code = <69>; /* KEY_LEFT */ }; } This refers to some other underlying hardware, but it is an example... So my question... I don't believe Armbian legacy…

Hello, I'm turning my head around this problem, I have read numerous forum posts and docs but I didn't found an answer: Following https://linux-sunxi.org/GPIO, the same pin number calculation applies for sysfs and gpiod. But, for example, for PL2 it will be 11*32+2=354, or for opi3 lts there are only 255 line numbers for gpiochip1 (as per `gpioinfo gpiochip1`) :-S Pleeease tell me what am I missing !?!

Recently I installed ubuntu-desktop and switched to gdm3. This caused a lot of my shortcut names and file names to become a large amount of gibberish, so I uninstalled and switched back to lightdm. I still do not have a lot of my icons: and now armbian-config does not open through the shortcut: I can still open it with the terminal but this makes me think there are bigger issues.

Hello, when I turn on my orangepi with armbian, it automatically logs me in and shows desktop. How can I please disable autologin and auto desktop? For example, on raspberry pi after boot I see just terminal with username and password, when I type these it logs me in and stays in terminal, and when I want dekstop environment I type startx and then I am in desktop. I would like to have the same behaviour on the orangepi (first headless after boot, I juust after then I should be able to login and choose to display desktop). Many thanks.

After making some changes to my Armbian setup on the Odroid xu4, I decided to use the Win32DiskImager tool on my Win10 machine to make a bootable image from the microSD card. However, I've now tried two different micro sd cards (a Samsung and a Sandisk) for the backup, but Win10 tells me that it doesn't recognize the file system. It asks me if I want to format the cards. Obviously I don't, because neither would be usable my Odroid xu4. Any idea why I can't backup these Armbian xenial images? Is there a comparable tool on Linux (I have Fedora on another machine) that can make the backup? (I pulled this issue from another thread where it really didn't belong.) Thanks…

Hi all, In armbian-config I have freeze on firmware. I can see that armbian-firmware-full is kept back. Still my kernel got updated. Kind of an issue as I use zfs (backports) on my omv install and I need to reinstall them to get the module recreated... Now I have a few questions: Is it because I have only armbian-firmware-full held back, and apt works in my case maybe with armbian-firmware? (Or do I misinterpret the list that says upgradable on the full) Or do I have to hold the specific versioned packages and will the armbian-firmware (meta?) package hold not work on the ones I have installed and get upgraded nonetheless? Hi After doing a clean install to SD card of armbian 5.3 Ubuntu Xenial, I see multiple failures to install packages like Docker and Gitlab via apt-get. In both instances, I follow instructions as per the official pages, but when I try to do the installation, apt-get will report that "E: Package 'docker-ce' has no installation candidate" for example, even though it is present searching in the cache. Am I doing something wrong - perhaps I need another repository source?

Can't compile my RTL8188eu driver any more since upgrade from 5.14 to 5.15. Any advice where they gone or how to fix the make file? Background: the shipped driver are broken when it comes to WPA PEAP Enterprise. The wifi module quickly overheats and stops. My current understanding is that this driver uses hardware encryption which overloads under this condition. My solution was to use these driver, that apparently don't use HW encryption: https://github.com/universam1/rtl8188eu Unfortunately, they don't compile any more now because of missing kernel files. Any help? Thanks

Hi, I'm trying to use orange Pi PC+ as router with AWUS036ACS rtl8811au wireless card. I did benchmarks on PC with ubuntu 16.04 and driver from github (8812au version 4.3.20-beta). Hey folks, I'm looking to build a little portable server to hold a local mirror of my cloud drive and run a light-duty testing server for medium-weight web apps (Django, big PHP blobs, etc). 2GB RAM, SATA support, and fanless are critical, USB 3.0 and GPIO ready to go with no soldering a big plus. I was looking at the EspressoBin but kernel support appears to still be incomplete and there isn't that big of a userbase. I also don't need two of the Ethernet ports on that board. Upgrading to the latest Armbian build 5.15.25 on the M2-Zero has caused the camera to stop working. Hello, dear armbian community. Hi, I'd like to install to USB storage as the eMMC card I have is quite small. As stated in the documentation https://docs.armbian.com/User-Guide_Getting-Started/#how-to-install-to-emmc-nand-sata-usb It appears to be quite simple but my question is, I already have everything installed and running, with the software I need etc. Will this pose an issue or should I re-flash and do it straight away? Thanks!

Eventually, aim is to activate a hardware component of my board, and I think I have the right option found. Problems are currently with compiling and applying the overlay. From the basics upwards: 1. Is there a way to know which overlay (of the many listed in /boot/dtb/*) is actually used during boot process? For example, I know I have a board with a H2+ soc, but my armbianEnv.txt says "overlay_prefix=sun8i-h3". In any case, even this prefix cannot be the full information, since in /boot/dtb/ there are overlays fo…

I just created this account. During the account creation process there was a part where I had to click a checkbox saying that I agree to the forum rules & policies. But I didn't see a link to actually read the policies (I'm usually impatient about these things, I may have missed something obvious). Now, after the fact, I've spent more time looking, and I can't find the forum rules / policies. Is there a post or webpage somewhere detailing what they are?

Hi. I am running OpenVPN, Samba and Plex with Armbian on my rockpis. I want to make a docker image from it. I am new to docker and I searched and found that I could make an image from Docker file or commiting in a container. I thought that commiting in container was easier for me. So I downloaded "twhtanghk/armbian" in docker hub and ran it. #docker container run -it twhtanghk/armbian bash But when I hit "#ls -ls /dev" in the container, it show different result with my rockpis' Armbian. So I am reluctant to start to install those. Is it ok to install OpenVPN, Samba and Plex with the image? Or which docker image should use? …

I am going through the following when trying to install tvheadend: Then I see briefly (< 1 second)... followed by, for another < 1 second: and then it quickly returns to: I can repeat this over and over but the software doesn't get installed. df shows only 6% used in /. Any ideas? What can I do to find out why this happens? Is there a command line option to trigger this process manually where I can observe what it does? Many thanks, Chris

Hi everyone, I'm new to creating my own images and I'm learning this just because I'm interested in it. I am trying to build ubuntu 24.04 for my rpi3b using the build configuration for rpi4b. Now I'm trying to automate the process of the first launch (skip the selection of bash, zsh, creating a password for root, creating a regular user, etc.). In one of the topics, I found out that I can delete "rm -rf/root/.not_logged_in_yet" And the system will not ask for the initial setup, but to make all the necessary changes for me, I wrote a small function in customize-image.sh: SettingSystemFirtsRun() { #disable defaut script sudo rm -rf…

Hello guys, I have a NOVAsom M7+ board with a RTL8723bs module with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth integrated. The Wi-Fi works normally and without problems, however the Bluetooth isn't detected at all. When I try to open the Bluetooth Manager app gives me this error: "Connection to BlueZ failed. BlueZ daemon is not running. blueman-manager cannot continue. This probably means that there were no Bluetooth adapters detected or Bluetooth daemon was not started". I already searched the internet and found some people with problems related to this module and Bluetooth, does anyone know how to solve this? Best regards

Hi all I need to develop a customized application on the OrangePi that uses this Allwinner H3 chip. So everything about this is the standard Armbian, with one change- I need to add security code into the loader to secure the board Prior to this I have only ever developed superloop C code on processors such as these i.e. no OS present. In those cases we had the development tools from the vendor or a JTAG probe. What I need to do is I need to customize the loader code to do certain security tasks. My question is, where is this loader sitting? (presumably its in the FLASH), and, is its source part of this distribution? Also, when they ma…

Orange Pi PC+ I have been using an image generated in 2019 (based on Debian 9) to develop code for a project. On the development machine it works well. I moved it to a machine running a custom Armbian build (simply having removed drivers that weren't necessary - sound etc. - and requiring that u-boot not search USB devices before starting the kernel) that was based on the same version (reported as Debian 9). It worked as expected. No probalme there then. Yesterday I rebuilt the Armbian image (now based on Debian 9.12), loaded it on to the client machine and went to run the software. I now get the error; "Inconsistency detected by ld.so: dl-version.c: 224: …

Is there detailed info somewhere how to do so? Like I posted here I once prepared a new sd card with armbian, poped it in to have the system resize to full sd card storage and then restored the rsync backup. Back then I was successful restoring the backup on hummingboard. Now I tried with odroid hc2 backup via ssh. Turns out you have to be root on the client if you pull a backup via ssh, else the files and folders user, group and permission won't be transfered. Also after restore I changed the UUID in /etc/fstab to the new sd card. Since I first set up armbian with a fresh install I should also have u-boot on it. Unfortunately system does not boot on my o…

Hello. I feel like this is a really basic stupid question, but for the life of me I can't find an answer. Hi , My son purchased a PCdunio v3, wifi enabled with his birthday money with the grand plan of "coding". This idea is slowly going down the drain. It is using Ubuntu 3.4.79+ It does not detect any wifi or ethernet. I have confirmed that both interfaces are up. I have tried with and without the SD card. I confirmed the router is not blocking the device. I can see that the State of wlan0 is unmanaged, but cant figure out how to fix that. I have tried manually creating entries for the network but this was unsuccessful. When it does try to connect to Wired Network, it simply got stuck looking for an IP address and never amounted to anything (Nothing in the ro…

Is it possible to install armbian using dd? I see the instructions say to use USBImager is recommended. However, my situation is that the computer I am using is an ARM64 running Linux, and it appears there is not a binary download of USBImager available for ARM64-linux. I could compile my own copy of USBImager, but it seems like it might be simpler to use dd. Or--is there an alternative to USBImager that I could install on my ARM64-linux (debian), preferably using the package manager?

It's only when booting, it seems to be unable to boot/stay on most of the time. 1) I put power into pi. 2) The ssd blinks, if it stops blinking, it didn't boot. If it keeps blinking success. Is there a way to delay mounting the ssd or better debug this issue?

Hello, I'm pretty new to Armbian world and still trying to learn how everything works. I have got this Asus Tinker Board R2.0 that I'm trying to use with an Armbian image. As listed in the topic, this is my desired and actual partition table setup for a lot of my computers. The U-boot 'partition 0' is typically somewhere in sector 1 till where partition 1 starts and only for SoCs/boards that do not understand any filesystem, like Allwinner and Rockchip based platforms. Also old BIOS PCs actually. It can be MBR or GPT (+hybrid) if more than 4 partitions are needed, for multi-boot, like adding Linux to a new Win11 pre-installed PC. The FAT is ESP or just type 0x0c/0x0700. Now I am struggling a bit with the case where a preinstalled ROCK 3A (RK3568, board ordered, not delivered yet) image has FAT mounted in /boot.
