Just as warning - It seems that Orange Pi devices have quite "easy to burn" hdmi port. This post is quite clear about it: http://www.orangepi.org/orangepibbsen/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=1556 And case happened to me - I did it simply by plugging in and out hdmi cable. At some moment "no signal" is coming from HDMI (or maybe I should say "nothing is coming" ). It is on my Orange Pi PC. Now I wait for composite TV/Audio cable (in post I am referring there is information that TV out is still working). Or my device will be changed to "server" only...

Hello I've seen threads about this topic before but can't get around if Armbian for Tinkerboard S is working with the official Raspberry Pi display? I have it working great with TinkerOS, problem is that I'm missing some kernel modules like CAN, CAN-raw and SLCAN which ThinkerOS doesn't ship with. That's why I would like to run Armbian instead. This is the display: https://www.raspberrypi.org/products/raspberry-pi-touch-display/ Can anyone tell me how to get the display working with Armbian?

  44. Hello, Today I found that the "serial-getty@ttyS0.service" service restarts every minute. It says "serial-getty@ttyS0.service: Succeeded." in the syslog/journal and then starts again, so it exited with code 0. The restart counter is already at 3085, so it's been like that for 2 days. No output is logged from the service itself. So I looked up its start command and ran it interactively. Again, with no output, after a minute, it returned with code 0. So I straced that thing and saw that it did lots of things, then print "Password:" somewhere, wait a while and then print "Login timed out after 60 second" and exit with code 0. strace /sbin/a…

  50. Is there detailed info somewhere how to do so? Like I posted here I once prepared a new sd card with armbian, poped it in to have the system resize to full sd card storage and then restored the rsync backup. Back then I was successful restoring the backup on hummingboard. Now I tried with odroid hc2 backup via ssh. Turns out you have to be root on the client if you pull a backup via ssh, else the files and folders user, group and permission won't be transfered. Also after restore I changed the UUID in /etc/fstab to the new sd card. Since I first set up armbian with a fresh install I should also have u-boot on it. Unfortunately system does not boot on my o…

Hello, Here is the end goal of what I am trying to achieve: I am using a rockpro64 and would like to be able to boot from SPI into a rootfs present on an encrypted hdd RAID. I tried building an image with root encryption enabled but apparently, has stated on the wiki, it is possible that no prompt will be shown during the boot process. This is exactly what is happening to me, the boot process halts without showing anyway of entering the passphrase. Is there a way to solve this issue ? Or to reach my goal with a different method ? Many thanks !!

When attempting to install microk8s, I noticed that the `ip_tables` module is missing from the provided image (Ubuntu 24.04 (Noble) Minimal / IOT image) on this page: https://www.armbian.com/radxa-dragon-q6a/ Easy way to replicate: ``` sudo modprobe ip_tables modprobe: FATAL: Module ip_tables not found in directory /lib/modules/6.18.0-rc6-edge-qcs6490 ``` Is there another image that has this module are part of the kernel or do I need to build the kernel myself? This seems like a module that should be included for an image that is labeled as `IOT`.

  96. On my Orange Pi Zero I run Armbian Buster and the only software running is Shairport. Unfortunately I used to have a crackling noise every 20-40 secund which was solved after entering root@orangepizero:~# renice -n -19 -u shairport-sync 110 (user ID) old priority 0, new priority -19 So far so good - but after a reboot the prio is again 0. So I tried to use nice nice -19 shairport-sync but after a reboot the prio was again 0 How can I set the priority of all process run by the user (-u) “shairport-sync” to -19 when they start?

  97. Iam a newbie to orangepi 3. I never had experience in doing anything in SBC's before. I was trying to learn to create a home NAS with orange pi 3 and open media vault. I was impressed with orange pi as it was cheap and more hardware. Here is what i did which took me days but ended up in nothing 1) Got success with ssh. Dloaded Armbian bullseye mainline image from armbian website. Mounted it to class 10 SD by Etcher. After finishing, no boot drive on sd card. Shows 'SD is corrupted'. I saw in this forum that after mounting, two files such as kernal and boot files should be present for ORPi 3 to boot.https://redirect.armbian.com/orangepi3/Bullseye_current 2)…

  98. Started by kevinheb,

I have been running the 5.03 image provided, and it works amazingly, many thanks to igorpec and tkaiser. Now that the 5.04 image is ready, is there an easy way (via ssh?) to update my system? Obviously I could copy the image to an sd card and run it that way, but the system is running so well (on external hard drive and running plex server) that I'm reluctant to upset it all. Many thanks

  99. hi all, I was looking for some unified os for more "rpi zero" clones and found beautiful armbian; and I am quite new to linux still, longtime/decades windows user; to "dogfood", I am also considering use of armbian on my "tiny-big" uefi-x86 (now NUC10, but got now new amd ryzen7 8845hs gmktec nucbox k8 plus), so I tried as very first setup on that ryzen7 latest armbian "ubuntu gnome" - monitor output is attached, so far so good, although I dont know if everything around usb3/4 is working well (log contains some red messages, dont understand them) - it was only simple install, and I have this comments: https://www.gmktec.com/products/amd-ryzen-7-8845hs-mini-pc…

  100. I am able to rebuild the kernel for this board and the image runs fine, but it appears that is does not support the UART on the GPIO. Does anyone know which kernel files need to be modified for this? It looks like its one of the .fex files in the pack-uboot folder. But there are multiple folders in that folder with multiple .fex files that all reference the uart. (sun50iw6/sun50iw9). How can I tell which .fex file the build is using? Thanks for any help, -Rich
