Hi Folks, this is just out of the blue but Armbian based on Devuan would be very cool. I find more manageable and predictable Devuan than Debian, I am slowing ditching Debian for Devuan, I recently tested both on some very little Linux compatible laptops and Devuan resulted in better compatibility and lesser weird issue with ACPI and LID operations. I use Runit as default init system and for desktop use I found it very stable: for instance when connected to the wifi printer if the printer goes in standby systemd is unable to reconnect to the scanner (you to restart sane) while runit is always on; there are plenty on these little cases where Devuan …

  2. Hello, I'm running Armbian on a Orange pi one. In htop I found out that the CPU temperature is not correct. So I tried to figure out what happens. The CPU is define not as hot as the value says. For me it looks line that the factor is about 2. I just wanted to inform about it. I can also deliver more information if required and also support to debug... I started the following commands for verification. $ cat /sys/devices/virtual/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp 63809 $ armbianmonitor -m Running unprivileged. CPU frequency will not be displayed. I have an Ubuntu box and I have attempted to write to the SD card using Armbian ImagerImager, by selecting an image from the app as well as downloading an image to use. In both instances, I get a FLASH failure. See the attached image for the diag link. Can anyone give me some insight?

Hello, I own boards of two different manufactures, namely a Cubietruck and an Espressobin. 6. Hi, I am having problem with overscan on orangepipc on my car display. https://goo.gl/photos/19v3Ji2cAUMsLwoV6 Left border is cropped by 32 pixels and bottom is cropped by 52px. I cannot figure out which is the correct way to upgrade it. Will the upgrade be released as a package through the armbian apt repository? I mean, will I get this upgrade with apt-get upgrade sooner or later? Are there other ways to upgrage it? Thanks.

I'm currently working from my GIT repo so I cloned armbian/build and u-boot/u-boot I added them to the compile.sh script by using userpatches/lib.conf overrides. I added the DTS file of the board, defconfig and modified the Makefile as it can be seen on this commit On the board config side, I set: BOOTCONFIG="fly_gemini_defconfig" The image is built successfully but the board doesn't boot because the DTB file isn't present in /boot/dtb/allwinner/sun50i-h5-fly-gemini.dtb I looked in output/debug files but I didn't found any error What did I miss ? …

  23. Hi All I cannot seem to find information specific to the Cuibieboard 2 - only reference to BPI running Ubuntu on SATA? Is this still possible? I am just trying to set up Armbian Buster on my Banana Pi and I am experiencing a strange problem with the keyboard settings: I choose de-UTF8 for system wide locale and system wide language, I set the keyboard to German, but still I couldn't type umlaute (öäü). If I typed "ä", nothing happens. If I typed "ü", it retrieved commands from the bash history, that I typed in earlier. If I typed ö", the input line displayed (arg: 6) After long search I finally found a kind of solution: if I uncomment this line in /etc/inputrc: # set convert-meta off I can type "öäü", but now I also can delete as many characters from …

  51. I'm running Armbian 20.08.1 (Ubuntu) in NanoPi NEO3, and after running sbc-bench,sh benchmark, the temperature does not revert to the idle temperature for several hours until exactly 4am. The system was idle all that time, until a small CPU usage spike at 4am. That's because it rebooted at that time, maybe due to a short power failure. So what confuses me a lot is why the idle temperature will get back to around 60C only after a reboot. 11 hours of idle time would not do it, but a simple reboot would magically drop the temperature by close to 15C.

Hi all, I enjoy Armbian overall and appreciate the support that goes into its upkeep. I previously used the ayufan images but found that those were updated less frequently than I desired and I've wanted to run OpenMediaVault 5.x + and Python3.x+ which have major issues with the Debian 9/Stretch and Kernel 4.x and run better on kernel 5.x and newer. After reinstalling Armbian on a new SD card and porting my old system over from that image, everything generally works well, however there have been some slow-downs. I have the NAS-style enclosure case and two 6 TB 3.5" HDDs. I have checked the thermals and the system runs at a around 60 - 68 degrees C. …

I have an old oDroid M1 that used to have Ubuntu 20 LTS installed on, but after it bricked itself during the install of Ubuntu 22 LTS, I decided to go looking for an alternative OS (it was also really sluggish). I got pointed to Armbian, and since it officially supports the M1, I gave it a go. Unfortunately, the instructions leave much to be desired. This part just doesn't seem to actually work: > Once booted, use armbian-install to write u-boot to MTD (SPI flash). This completely and irrevocably removes Petitboot, replacing it with mainline u-boot. All of the options that appear to be what it means by "write u-boot to MTD (SPI Flash…

I've backed up my banana pi m1 with sudo tar cvpzf /mnt/BackupNas/backup.tgz --exclude=/proc --exclude=/lost+found --exclude=/mnt --exclude=/sys --exclude=/dev --exclude=/boot / and restored the files onto the external HDD on the OPI. A restart was successfully and the system appears to run smoothly. It now doesn't display the nice text after logging in via SSH. I am afraid that there are other important files overwritten. Does anybody know what I might have overwritten and needs to be restored from plain armbian? Thanks René

An Orange Pi R1+ LTS is on its way to me to replace the Orange Pi R1 that currently serves as my firewall (my fibre speed has increased and 100Mbps PHYs are too slow) The board is similar to the Orange Pi R1+ except that a NIC has a different chipset. Orange Pi R1+ LTS uses Rockchip rk3328 and has 1GB DDR3 memory and two 1 Gbps NICs. Compared to the Orange Pi R1+, the Realtek RTL8211E PHY has been replaced with a YT8531C PHY. The memory is also DDR3 vs DDR4. Armbian has WIP images for the Orange Pi R1+, but not the Orange Pi R1+ LTS. I guess that this could be a good starting point if I can figure out how to change the PHY.

  100. I'm trying to build an image for an Olimex A13-Som board. So far it starts booting, but halts when it gets to: "Starting Raise network interface...". I've tried all the available distribution in the builder, (Bionic, Buster, Stretch, Focal etc.) and it's the same for all of them. I quite can't figure out how to get it to move past that point - anyone got a suggestion? Regards.
