Good evening! Is there anyone experience in installing the drivers for this device? The official website has the driver vga2usb-3.30.2.10-raspbian-4.4.11-v7+-arm.deb which apparently is rigidly attached to the core. Does anyone have any ideas on installation?

Hi, Now that I have my NanoPC-T4 working with hardware 3D acceleration, 1080p video playback, full development environment on NVMe, Think it's time for a backup. Has anyone found a usefull utility ? Or should I just use dd to dump the eMMC partions to image files on a USB attached drive and rsync to backup the NVMe the the same ? I'd imagine to restore just boot from an install image, don't install, just dd the images to their repective eMMC partitions and rysnc to restore. Has anyone had to restore a board and how well did your solution work for you ?

Hey guys, one of my 2x OPI3 Allwinner H6 board wont boot from the micro SD card. That rather decrease me to a nowinner instead of an allwinner. But joking apart The red LED over the SD card is enlighted when all cables like keyboard, mouse, HDMI and ethernet are cable-connected. The red LED from the power is only a few seconds red and is switching to green, then the board boots to the pre installed Android.7 OS. The SD card will not be detected. When Android is up, there is a point called "local" at the bottom of the screen When I open "local" I can see "Local Memory" that possibly should be the SD card, Network Neighborhood (CIFS…

Most of the time our Arm computer does nothing and the CPU is around 40º, and therefore no fan is needed. But sometimes they work a lot and the fan is really necessary. So I wonder if a 5V fan connected to the gpio pins can be used and that the same board sends power to the fan when for example the CPU exceeds 60 °. And below 60º the orangepi that cuts the current to the fan. Can it be done without external components?

Hi, I've been trying to compile a c program with GCC and have been unable to move past various errors related to file functions that should be declared in fs.h I have installed (several times!) linux-headers-5.7.15-sunxi, made scripts, pointed the make file to ARCH=arm (not really necessary I know) and KSRC=/usr/src/linux-headers-5.7.15-sunxi/. In the fs header in /usr/src/linux-headers-5.7.15-sunxi/linux/ looks correct and includes references to the functions I require (filp_open(), filp_close(), kernel_write()) but the compiler simply refuses to accept that these functions are declared. It appears to still be using the original headers in /usr/incl…

I'm trying to build an image for an Olimex A13-Som board. So far it starts booting, but halts when it gets to: "Starting Raise network interface...". I've tried all the available distribution in the builder, (Bionic, Buster, Stretch, Focal etc.) and it's the same for all of them. I quite can't figure out how to get it to move past that point - anyone got a suggestion? Regards.

A problem I'm having with my fresh install of Armbian Bionic on my Libre Renegade board is that I cannot use the user login due to read-only file system warnings. Root login does allow more freedom, but comes with its own drawbacks. Prior to writing Armbian to the chip from Windows, I formatted the chip exFAT. I've reinstalled Armbian mutiple times on multiple chips, but even the recommended A1 SD doesn't work. I'm not sure where the problem lies. Is this strictly a hardware issue? Is there any non-extensive ways to workaround or fix the problem in the terminal? I'm not too familiar with Linux terminology, but can figure out common terms. I can supply more in…

Hi, I have few boards that were once connected to wifi manually, but now are headless. I would like now to upgrade Armbian and put wifi connection during sd card flash. Dear all, I have an Android TV-Box which is not a common type (but brand new). No existing DTB file that I tried works properly with Armbian (Ex. WiFi & Bluetooth missing). I have managed to extract the original DTB file from the built in Android (Pie, I believe), but as I read somewhere else, these DTB files are for older Linux kernels, and Armbian refuses to boot with it. Hello, I installed Retroarch from the repos, tried to install a "core" from the Retroarch updater but no cores were available. I searched about that if the installed version is too old no cores will be available, so I added the Retroarch ppa and installed the newest version, but got the same problem. Does Retroarch work under Armbian? Do I need to manually install "core" binaries? If so, where can I get them? Thanks.

On Armbian Buster, rockchip (rock64), kernel 5.16.69. This was also happening on the latest backported version of 5.10, I think 5.10.72? I tried upgrading to fix it to no avail. Hello all, earlier I booted up the board (Radxa Dragon Q8B) when it prompted to reboot & update and I allowed it. The update took uncharacteristically long. The OS is running off an SD card. There is no SSD or eMMC installed. Turns out it wiped the install clean. There was about 20 GB of free space prior to the update, now there's 46 GB. For some reason the user itself and the wifi login are still there, but everything in the home directory is gone. Installed applications and the driver for the wireless card are gone. Chrome add-ons are still there, but reset. The Downloads folder now has Armbian_26.8.1_Radxa-dragon-q8b_resolute_vendor_7.0…

Just as warning - It seems that Orange Pi devices have quite "easy to burn" hdmi port. So...I'm trying to find the linux headers for my Banana Pi M1, so I can install Wireguard on it. But seems there's no sanxi headers? Also...no headers for that kernel whatsoever. The generic ones stop at 4.18 then jump to 5.0. Then there's a bunch of raspi and raspi2 headers, and then the misterious to me linux-headers-edge-sunxi 21.05.6, which I guess won't work on mine. Where should I get headers for my Banana Pi? Also just in case, I'm a bit worried about doing something too drastic, since this little thingy is located in another continent. Thanks!

Hi, Working on a project that will manage and monitor batteries from a solar installation and wanting to see how low I can reduce its power consumption. Out of the box consumption is approx. 480mWatts. Currently using Armbian 21.05.8 Buster Don't need: USB WiFi Any display output and Only need eth0 for possibly 10 mins a day. Any suggestion on how to power down specific components such as above? Interestingly shutdown via the command line increase the power consumption to around 700mW?? Thanks, Rob.

A coworker of mine gave me a 5 inch hdmi touchscreen (waveshare knockoff). Getting hdmi to work properly on my orangepi pc was done in a few minutes. But the touchscreen drives me nuts. It came with a xpt2046 so I loaded the ads7846 driver I compiled from fbtft. No error messages, but also no response to a touch. It took me a week to finally realize that not the wiring, the driver or Armbian is was the problem, but the touch digitizer was. So I ordered a new one on my favorite Chinese site and installed it on the lcd. Finally I got a response to touching the screen, but I was not able to calibrate it with xinput_calibrator. After manually calibrating it …

Mini tutorial I am putting here some notes for posterity In the current version of armbian (testing H6) I use X11 / Xorg only reaches 1024x768, but my display reaches 1440x900. To add this new resolution to the list of Settings/Display you have to give these commands: # xrandr --listmonitors (this command serves to see what it's called, the hdmi output) # cvt 1440 900 (output: # 1440x900 59.89 Hz (CVT 1.30MA) hsync: 55.93 kHz; pclk: 106.50 MHz Modeline "1440x900_60.00" 106.50 1440 1528 1672 1904 900 903 909 934 -hsync +vsync ) # xrandr --newmode "1440x900_60.00" 106.50 1440 1528 1672 1904 900 903 909 934 -h…

Hi there. I have some audio project on different SOM/SOC boards, now my task is to bring an i2s DAC on RK3399. I use external high-quality clock for i2s and need to make the Rockchip the masterclock slave. This is the case where I find no tail to pull yet, due to VERY cumbersome device tree, poorly documented and poorly explored. For instance, the CPU datasheet says that I2S_MCLK is output only, whilst I could find the opposite in the TRM. Moreover, the clock tree explained there, says that I can use CLKIN_I2S not only for i2s interfaces, but for spdif also! (Also there is explained some "bitclock slave mode", it's even implemented in the DAI driver,…

Hello everyone. I have a custom board with A20 SoC running Buster kernel version 5. Configured device tree, everything works. My problem is that the board uses I2C4 bus to drive CSI1 camera and that I2C4 bus seems to be reserved for HDMI. i2cdetect -l gives i2c-0, i2c-1, i2c-2, i2c-3 and sunxi-hdmi-i2c adapter. Of course, trying to access sunxi-hdmi-i2c adapter from code (c++) or a tool (v4l2-ctl) results in an error as resource is busy. As I don't use HDMI at all and I2C2 bus is free, my question is how can I set dummy I2C2 bus to be assigned to HDMI or somehow release I2C4 bus so it's accessible by camera driver. Removing or disabling HDMI from…

Hi there, I have too many SBCs running Armbian with very recent kernels (even two Raspberry Pi 3B), and I love the consistency of my herd. I will change job next month, and I will at last be able to have a Linux machine as my daily driver... The thing is, I will need Windows too for video editing so that I need to keep it available when needed. I was thinking of Manjaro or Linux Mint for the freshness of their kernels (as the laptop hardware is pretty recent), but I gave a try yesterday at Armbian on x86_64, and it went almost well. I did not go as well as @NicoD's attempt in his latest video, but it is encouraging anyhow. So... Is there anything like…

Hello, This may seem simple for you, and I feel stupid for asking, but I'm not sure how to install the driver provided by KeeTouch, the touch screen provider, on my OrangePi One. This is the driver provided, but there is no instruction on how to install it. https://keetouch.eu/files/drivers/saw/linux/linuxupdd4.1.11.tgz The screen is a keetouch kot-170c-us-sa4bcw accoustic wave touch screen, connected by USB for the touch screen and HDMI to DVI to the OrangePi. The OrangePi One (H3) is on Armbian 22.05 Jammy XFCE and has nothing installed yet, the touch screen is first order of buisness. I have searched for a whil…

Hello every body, I need some help, I can't install Citadel mail server on my Nanopi duo2 board. Previously i try to install ISPconfig mail server on default armbian-config but not work, then i try Citadel because I already have a little familiarity with this program. After write IOS on mem card and updade/upgrade command I followed the guidelines of the Citadel website which is to execute the following commands: "curl http://easyinstall.citadel.org/install | bash", but after downloading and starting the installation, many error messages appear due to lack of space. Hello to everyone! : ) I've made a lot of digging around but I haven't found a final reply to my questions because all the informations I've found are quite old and probably outdated. I own an OPi PC which I was using with Libreelec but unfortunately the HDMI output broke because of the missing protections. By what I know, there isn't any mean of getting AV out working on Libreelec so I switched to Armbian for which it seems to be possible instead. I've installed it with no issues at all (version as per title) but all the guides I've found on this forum to enable AV out seem not to apply, probably because they're intended for much older Armbian versions nor I couldn't fin…

Well, I just bought a CloudShell direct from HarkKernel in South Korea. It was delivered and assembled. However, the LCD display - a major selling point - is non-functional. It appears to require a kernel module specific to the odroid xu4 specific kernel, that isn't available in the stock kernel. I am attempting to compile a 4.x.y kernel from hardkernel sources. So far, 4.14 doesn't appear to work. I want to run Open Media Vault 6, but currently, it only supports Armbian Bullseye, not any Ubuntu, etc. Armbian/OMV works for everything except he LCD. I am attempting to remedy the issue, but it will mean downgrading my kernel, which may ca…

Hi, I need to help for understandable how set right clock hierarchy for i2s bus with external master-clock signal. This mode supported rockchip processors (RK3328, RK3399) but there are very small information how it can do. Today we have out of box in armbian for Nanopi Neo3 working I2S with master-clock from PLL, but I want change master-clock source from PLL to external signal. In souce and clock debugfs I find that I2S1 ("i2s1_pre") can be clocked from 4 sources: clk_i2s1_div, clk_i2s1_frac, clkin_i2s1, xin12m. By default parent for i2s1_pre set to clk_i2s1_div, which have parent cpll. Hence we must change parent for i2s1_pre to clkin_i2s1, but clock clki…

Hi. For my application it would be very advantageous to speed up the boot time of the device as much as possible. The application depends on the network, and unfortunately it seems it takes a while for the interface to establish a connection. After plugging in the device, I count that it takes about 25-30 seconds until my application starts (which is set to start on reboot by cron). However, at that time, the network is still not up, so it matters little that the application has started. It takes another 20 seconds or so until the device is reachable by the network. So total 45-50 seconds from boot. Why is this? I see in systemd-analyze t…

I am looking to purchase an SBC ideally under $100 to install armbian and develop some hardware projects. I had previously gone for a BpiM5 which also has EMMC but when I came to install software I found there is little support from the makers, installing software is fiddly and the most recent Armbian images for this board were not working. I eventually got this going using Ubuntu Mate. For my next project I would like to change from Amlogic CPU's , use Armbian as the software base and choose a platform which has reasonable up to date support whilst avoiding going for an RPI. Hi, I'm trying to setup the wifi with the image: Armbian 24.8.1 Bookworm Minimal / IOT But there is no wlan0 on the ip a command. Can you please give me a hint on how to setup the wifi with the bananapi M4 zero? I have also tried the server image debian12 but found the same issue. FYI I tried an image from the BPI M4 zero website: 20240819-Bananapi-Armbian_24.8.0-trunk_Bpi-m4zero_Debian12 And there is wlan0 so I successfully configured the wifi ( but there is no bananapi-config to copy the image to the emmc but that's another story... ) Thanks in advance!

Hi, thanks to this tutorial: I was able to add optical S/PDIF module to my orange pi zero plus 2 h3 - It works But I noticed the the every time when a sound is played it causes the SPDIF output on the OPI to initialise (switch on the red light) which takes about 1-2 seconds, after the sound has finished the SPDIF output goes back to sleep (switch off the red light). As a result on every new audio that is played the first 1-2 second is lost off This is not a problem if I'm listening radio but in case of quick phrases spoken by the synthesizer(my case) this is a real problem. Is there any way to keep S/PDIF …

Dear community, dear @Igor (as maintainer of NEO3 CSC), thanks a lot for the NEO3 support. This board ran rock solid for me approx. two years straight – much more stable than my other SBCs running Armbian (due to various reasons, no offense :)). However, the board failed to boot with "ERROR: Did not find a cmdline Flattened Device Tree". It appears that ``rk3328-nanopi-neo3-rev02.dtb`` went missing. This must have happened when upgrading the package ``linux-dtb-current-rockchip64`` from 21.08.2 to 22.02.1. As a workaround, it helps to (download the CSC image for the board again, get the file out of the image,) place the file in ``/boo…

Is there a way to skip this phase? Is it possible to force board to boot from SD card again? Then I made configurations as guided and lastly proceeded installation to eMMC. Then I made poweroff, took SD card out and started board. Boot started nicely but sadly stuck at sta…

Hello everyone, I am creating a custom Armbian build for OPI5 && OPI5b. The task is as follows: install several packages in the system and fully configure it. While there are no issues with installing packages and configuring the network, there is a peculiarity with the login and password. Specifically, sometimes after writing the image to the emmc opi5b or SD card, the system allows me to log in with my pre-configured credentials, but other times, when flashing the same image, the system simply rejects my pre-set data and displays the message “Login Incorrect.” How I set the initial settings for the system: In /root there is a file called .not_logged_i…

Hello, I just installed Armbian on my Tinker board. I use the internal wifi and another wifi usb dongle (static ip). The wifi usb receives a name wlx**** in ifconfig and the internal wifi module has wlan0. I want to have wlan1 instead of wlx***. So I checked https://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/systemd/PredictableNetworkInterfaceNames/ Tried the option using dev/null and setting the net.ifnames parameter. I tried in /boot/ArmBianEnv.txt to set net.ifnames=0 parameter. Nothing works. Would be happy, if someone knows how to change this on Armbian. Thank you very much
