  2. Hello everyone Friends, maybe someone will give clear instructions on how to download armbian from an external ssd on the khadas vim2 board? On my NanoPi Neo Core, the flash has the following partitions: Most of the drives I've encountered have the starting sector set as 2048, while this one has 49152. I'm assuming that U-Boot reside before the 49152th sector. How can I see what is below 49152th sector in the partition table?

First off this is not a Rockpro64 it is a Rock64 Ver. 2 which the tags field would not let me enter. A couple years ago when I first started playing with the Rock64, I briefly used armbian as the OS. The flickering video was annoying so later I tried Manjaro which worked fairly well. Recently the (Manjaro/Arch) updates (as well as latest images) completely break the HDMI output. Since the system was rendered usless, I downloaded the latest Armbian Jammy hoping for better results. The image loaded from SD fine, I did updates manually fine, and it rebooted fine. The only problem I experience is that that anoying HDMI video flicker. It's worse when there is any s…

What is the recommended way to back up a user's *.img? I ask b/c I crashed the OS (Debian 11 Xfce) after a number of hours by upgrading via Synaptic -- don't know which of the upgrade group did the damage. It was a major pain to go back through everything I had done. I tried the very nice script "image-backup" from the image-utils developed by user RonR on the RPi Forum, but it complains about the wrong Partition config. Is there a method that is known to work? Anything involved with screen blanking /MUST/ be removed or disabled, on the bpim5, and it exists in so many places it took me 2 days of poking around to stop the no recovery except reboot if un-used for more than 15 minutes regardless of what it happens to be running at the time. When a blanker kicks in, the monitor powers down and the bpim5 goes inactive with only the red pwr led on steady, and nothing wakes it up except the reset button. These things use so little power that it doesn't bither me a bot to leave them running. I have an rpi4b running a big metal lathe that works as intended, with uptimes in years, this should be the same. It w…

  95. Hello, guys! I would appreciate so much if you could help me develop my project. English isn't my native language(but I can understand very well) and I'm a beginner on Linux world. But I've made some progress so far and I'm really focused on that. I have been searching a lot for more than 20 days about the topics below but I'm really struggling with some issues. MY SETUP: -MXQ PRO 4K- Rockchip RK3228A - Nand Flash 1GB -Armbian_22.02.0-trunk_Rk322x box_focal_legacy_4.4.194_xfce_desktop.img GOAL: -Displaying in full screen my PDF lyrics on stage and switch the pages using a footswitch. I don't know how to explain this, so I start with my hardware: Two Odroid HC1. I love swapping Kernels, default was 5.4.199 but that was "too old" because I like it bleeding edge. Did upgrade both to 5.17.5 and it works like a charm! Really good performance and some errors from dmesg disappeared too! However the problems did not wait for long: Kernel 5.19.x broke fstrim commands on my SATA drives so I rolled back, everything was good on 5.17.5 again. My logs showed TRIM was supported and running again, cheers! Now to the actual problem at hand and this might be my own doing. I froze the upgrades in armbian-config. Thinking this would prevent upgrading to the n…

  97. How is the 1-wire bus enabled on a Rock64 with Armbian 20.08.17 Bionic? I have enabled the w1-gpio through armbian-config. The /sys/bus/w1/devices/ folder is empty after sudo modprobe w1-gpio and sudo modprobe w1-therm. Below is what is in the armbianEnv.txt file in the /boot directory. verbosity=1 bootlogo=false overlay_prefix=rockchip rootdev=UUID=cbeeff94-c38d-4a79-b10a-3854a2470be4 rootfstype=ext4 usbstoragequirks=0x2537:0x1066:u,0x2537:0x1068:u overlays=i2c7 spi-spidev w1-gpio In the /boot/dtb/rockchip/overlay/ directory there is a file rockchip-w1-gpio.dtbo. I have connected the VCC pin of the D…

  98. Not a feature request, I'm just curious about why things are like this. Context around the error message Line 170: tries to enable ACS but CONFIG_ACS disabled 1 errors found in configuration file '/etc/hostapd/hostapd-5.conf' Failed to set up interface with /etc/hostapd/hostapd-5.conf Failed to initialize interface Most relevant part of hostapd-5.conf ... hw_mode=any ... channel=acs_survey ... Probably the root cause of this $ apt source hostapd ... $ grep CONFIG_ACS wpa-2.10/hostapd/defconfig #CONFIG_ACS=y So my question is, why is CONFIG_ACS disabled when having Automatic Channel Selection (ACS) is useful? T…

  99. Started by AlexSTAL,

Good afternoon! Tell me about the case, please, the post is great, but maybe I'm initially going the wrong way. Initial task: data exchange between a remote server and equipment with a USB interface and CDC RS-232 or HID protocols. Putting a computer / laptop next to it is not an option. I did not find any ready-made solutions, there are only options: 1. Single board computer. Fast, cheap, angry, easy to make a case and PoE power from ready-made components on the market. 2. Arduino - to assemble from prototyping boards is long, difficult and expensive. To develop something of my own - the navel will be untied with my knowledge. 3. Hardware "e…
