I've set up 23.02 Debian Bullseye CLI on my Orange Pi 5. I believe I read 23.05 is coming out soon. Would I just do an apt update and then apt upgrade to make the change? I'm at the point where I could just re-install and start with 23.05 but what would I do in the future for new updates? Thanks.

Hi Folks, this is just out of the blue but Armbian based on Devuan would be very cool. I find more manageable and predictable Devuan than Debian, I am slowing ditching Debian for Devuan, I recently tested both on some very little Linux compatible laptops and Devuan resulted in better compatibility and lesser weird issue with ACPI and LID operations. I use Runit as default init system and for desktop use I found it very stable: for instance when connected to the wifi printer if the printer goes in standby systemd is unable to reconnect to the scanner (you to restart sane) while runit is always on; there are plenty on these little cases where Devuan …

  4. I have downloaded the cli image file and imaged it to a SD card. However, when I attempt to boot, I never get a screen. I tested the board using the NanoPi-R6 image file and do get the initial setup for Armbian. However, it does not recognize USB devices. I realize that the image for NanoPC-T6 is a work-in-progress, but I don't understand why it doesn't boot. Am I doing something wrong?

  6. Hello to everyone! : ) I've made a lot of digging around but I haven't found a final reply to my questions because all the informations I've found are quite old and probably outdated. I own an OPi PC which I was using with Libreelec but unfortunately the HDMI output broke because of the missing protections. By what I know, there isn't any mean of getting AV out working on Libreelec so I switched to Armbian for which it seems to be possible instead. I've installed it with no issues at all (version as per title) but all the guides I've found on this forum to enable AV out seem not to apply, probably because they're intended for much older Armbian versions nor I couldn't fin…

I am using my Orange Pi as a Pi-Hole and also to run a discord bot of mine I am having the issue with this repo where I can install packages with `pnpm install` will run and work fine, but when i move to use `pnpm compile` which uses Parcel to compile the codebase from TS and etc to workable JS, I run it and it starts that command and then the Putty terminal I use to remote into my OrangePi (which is on my LAN) from my Windows 11 machine gets a "remote connection terminated" which generally just happens when the remote restarts. Hi, recently downloaded image for may odroid hc4. There was big sign with 23.5 version so i used this. Everything went fine. Set up lamp nextcloud server but then i wanted to set firewall with geoblock(xt_geoip) but can't go through basic steps. On my old version it workerd. With some addition steps but did. Problem is with linux headers. I found out there is some weird "desync" with packages versioning? I downloaded image for 23.5 and repo seems to be on 23.2. Linux kernel on fresh image is 6.1.30 and in repo is 6.1.11. Even armbian-config is installing headers for 6.1.11 and can't compile my stuffs. I just wanted to downgrade kernel to 6.1.11, but i think it …

Hello! I have Armbian running on a Lime2. It runs from the microSD. The board has eMMC and I have also connected a SATA SSD through USB because I would like to move the system to the SSD. I have tried doing so through the nand-sata-install.sh script but it always shows the following message: There are no available partitions. Please create them. I get that message no matter if I choose to have the boot partition on eMMC or on microSD. And I don't know much about partitions. What partitions should I create? Where should I create them? How should I create them? Thank you!

I see only "full image" downloads and no link to information on what was used to build these images. I thought if I cloned the repo I could modify a similar board configuration file (such as rock-3a.conf) by renaming a copy as radxa-cm3.conf and changing BOOT_FDT_FILE to use my own device tree, but this is where I got lost. I'm not sure where to put the device tree in the cloned repo so that it gets used during the build process. 49. Hello, Like it happened to @Grogorio in 2016, I need to introduce a boot delay on my OrangePi Zero Plus (Armbian 23.02.2 Focal) to allow time for other network elements in my setup to boot. As per what I have read somewhere, this can done by adding a 'boot_delay=n' line in /boot/config.txt, however I don't see this file in Armbian; I've also tried to add the line, but it does not seems to be working. Furthermore, the max delay that can be setup there is 10 seconds, but I need a longer delay. Can someone help? TIA

  50. When using Armbian on my Orange Pi 5b, I can't select 120hz when the resolution is 4k but I can when it's set to 1080p. In other distros like Joshua Riek's Ubuntu and the official Orange Pi 5 Ubuntu release, 120 hz is selectable in 4k and works wonderfully. Is there something I'm missing somewhere? Is there something I can do to manually enable this somewhere? This distro checks all the boxes for me otherwise. Using 120 hz makes a massive difference when streaming games from my desktop to my living room TV using Sunshine/Moonlight.

  51. I'm using the latest WIP config for the NanoPC-T6 build. I've discovered a problem that I don't have using an official FriendlyARM Debian image on the device. I have one HDMI output connected to a dual input screen in desktop mode. It works fine if I select the NanoPC-T6 screen input from the start, but if at a later stage I swap the screen input to a different source and back again, the NanoPC-T6 does not output video. I can ssh to the box but there is nothing obvious in either dmesg or syslog. summary-build-476d3c90-225f-4793-8dbb-01abf490e940.md

After the last update released on July 6th, 2023 that fixed a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issue (thank you), another issue developed. Would like to build something like a NAS, because I'm tired of connecting an external drive via USB. I am thinking to use bananapi M2 berry for this. I would power the 3.5 HDD externally and don't care too much about SATA speed. However, it is important to me that armbian works without manual adjustments, because it wouldn't cope with them. Should I go ahead with the experiment?

  69. Hi, I need to help for understandable how set right clock hierarchy for i2s bus with external master-clock signal. That sparked my interest, and I aquired a used Rock64 board relatively cheap to play. In retrospect it may have not been the right choice but I have it now. After trying several "dis-jointed" OS's steered to by the Pine website, and finding them to only work partially, at best, I came across Armbian after much searching. I'm very glad I did. The wiegand protocol is 26 pulses, each pulse 50uS wide, and separated by 2000us, so yeah it has to be fast. I've set the debounce value to zero using gpio_set_debounce(), so it's running as quickly as I can make it without patching Linux source. After doing some reading, I think I need to modify the device tree to make the default polling speed for GPIOA pins faster. Or…

I have found some of these postrotate failures with cryptic messages as write errors from cat and corresponding rsyslogd omfile module stating lost messages. I suspect two independent processes competing to send output to same files hence causing these errors. I don't know enough of detail but I think ther…

I've wired it up to the I2C A SCA and SCL pins with 3.3V and GND as needed, and enabled both I2C A and B in armbian-config. However, when I run i2cdetect -y 0 I get the device grid with a 30 in position 30 and nothing else, both with the display hooked up or not, nothing changes. Is there anything obvious I might have missed to get I2C running? Thanks in advance for your help!
