  1. Hi If i boot my cubieboard2, sometimes it's visible on network, and reachable, sometimes not at all. After that, it isn't changes. No problem with the LAN cable, i've tried two. Also the speedtest shows the maximum bandwidths in both directions (~92 mbit/sec). The system boots always, as i see from logs. Here is from the log: sudo cat /var/log/messages | grep ether Feb 23 09:14:43 localhost kernel: [ 2.059648] sun7i-dwmac 1c50000.ethernet: PTP uses main clock Feb 23 09:14:43 localhost kernel: [ 2.059661] sun7i-dwmac 1c50000.ethernet: no reset control found Feb 23 09:14:43 localhost kernel: [ 2.059690] sun7i-dwmac 1c50000.e…

  2. Hi, after I made a software-update for my Cubitruck last week, my VGA monitor shows text only up to "starting kernel", then turns black. HDMI still works. I tried to reinstall the newest versions of both Ubuntu Bionic and Debian Stretch, both show this problem. The old VGA monitor is used only for maintenance work on my home server and off most of the time, it would be a shame if I had to buy a new HDMI monitor for this purpose. What is going on? Thanks Engelbert

  3. Hi, I just got my hands on a Orange Pi Zero, but when I try to use iscsiadm I get the following message: iscsiadm: iSCSI driver tcp is not loaded. Load the module then retry the command. iscsiadm: Could not perform SendTargets discovery: iSCSI driver not found. Please make sure it is loaded, and retry the operation I have tried to load the module using modprobe, but it does not seem to exist. Any tips?

  4. I downloaded Armbian_5.59_Orangepizero_Ubuntu_xenial_default_3.4.113.img, and am running it with a 16GB SD card. I am trying to modify the I2C settings, however, when I type `armbian-config`, and select `System`, there is no "Hardware" menu option. This contradicts the documentation: Hardware is supposed to be an option in that menu. 5. Hey. I'm trying to install octoprint on my Opi Zero +2, using the latest armbian image I found here on the site. Installation works fine, and I get the web interface up and running no problem. But I have connected power to the board on the gpio pins, and want to use the mini-usb to connect to the 3d printer. I have enabled usbhost0-3 in the hardware in armbian-config, but still it seems the printer cannot be reached. I read some older posts regarding other boards, where the solution seemed to be recompiling. Is this a necessity, and if so, could someone please point me to a walkthrough? Regards Anders

  7. Hello, it seems like there are no dts files to add support for i2s. How hard would it be to complete this task? The documentation from h6 references support for i2s, and the same in the user manual from Xunlog : http://dl.sumnic.com/download/OrangePi-One-Plus.pdf Edit:After some reading, i2s is not working for now and there's no proper driver yet. Thanks to martinayotte, SPI is working.

  8. Hi. I want to run the desktop at a 800x600 resolution, to get better FPS at full screen gaming (HDMI screen). I fiddled with OpenGL, and it looks like I got a lot better FPS by just using glshim. Is there a known approach to getting 800x600 resolution? h3disp does not show 800x600 as an option. This is the Armbian Ubuntu Xenial image. Regards, Morten

  11. Hello, I installed last Bionic on a Orange Pi PC+. It's on EMMC. (it used to have an old Armbian Ubuntu with 3.x kernel before) Common settings (background image, GTK theme, icons, panel) are there on logout but are not saved on reboot. I saved a text file in the home user folder, it's OK. With another common user I face the same problem, with the root account settings are saved. My Linux knowledge is average, I really don't know what's wrong. Thank you Mathieu

  21. When the system call # /sbin/fstrim --all the process enters intermittent sleep, and all the following processes gradually obtain the same state. In crontab it appears as a task of the # fstrim -v / system, the same command if I do it manually also has the same result of never ending and blocking the other processes little by little until the system is totally blocked. Can it be disabled? As a check that is compatible with the microsd? Any recommendation?

When I run an audio-output-command two times, the audio is played well with the second command. But the greater problem in my case is a loud cracking noise when audio stops. Is there anyway to prevent the shutdown of the amplifier? I have to repeatingly start and stop audio files from nodejs. Thanks for your help, Jimmy

  52. So I have a weird problem that I haven't seen yet, so forgive me if its already been answered. But for some reason mainline kernels (bionic and stretch) both bootloop at the same place. Seen below: The board boots perfectly fine on legacy kernel though. I'm using decent quality Samsung SD cards, and I've tried every combination of usb cable/powerbrick as well as the barrel jack so I'm not sure what the snag is.

  53. Hello! The same issue was solved one year ago: Module 'nls_utf8' was missing in armbian 5.3.6 (4.13.16-sunxi64) Some time ago, the absence of a module was again discovered, without which the 'mount' with option 'iocharset=utf8' fails with error. The output of: grep -i nls_utf8 /boot/config* is # CONFIG_NLS_UTF8 is not set Please include again the module 'nls_utf8' in kernel update. Thank you very much! Denis

  58. Hi, Since the armbian release 5.3.6 (Linux 8 jessie 4.13.16-sunxi64) does not contain the module 'nls_utf8', one can not use the OpenMediaVault - OMV - plugin 'Remote Mount' for accessing an external HDD ... for example, which is connected to a Fritz!Box (running Fritz!NAS). Further details please see OMV - Remote Mount: How to mount an HDD that is connected to a Fritz!Box 7490? Please include the module 'nls_utf8' (and maybe some more nls_* modules) in an update compilation, which is based on the same kernel. Many thanks in advance. The module is provided in following Debian Jessie file list (image): https://packages.debian.org/jessie/…

Regarding the 1-wire protocol cat /sys/bus/w1/devices/*/w1_slave responds "No such file or directory" since the upgrade. Also regarding the spi overlay # ls /dev/spi* should result in /dev/spidev0.0 whereas kernel 4.19 says "cannot access /dev/spi*: No such file or directory". I have tried Armbian Ubuntu/Debian and different sd cards but this doesn't change anything. I think with previous kernel there wasn't such an issue. I've connected it to the serial port and I see: login: [381301.434449] EXT4-fs error (device mmcblk0p1): ext4_journal_check_setected aborted journal [381301.444715] EXT4-fs (mmcblk0p1): Remounting filesystem read-only [381340.727458] EXT4-fs error (device mmcblk0p1): ext4_find_entry:143621620: comm sh: reading directory lblock 0 [381494.351427] EXT4-fs e…

Any other proposal? b) When trying to find a workable image for Igors selection, I figured that I run into issues with all of them. 87. Hi! I was using armbian 5.60 with 4.14.70 kernel and WiFi AP worked flawsessly. Today I had to rebuild my sd card, so I downloaded the latest available build Armbian Stretch mainline kernel 4.19.y I can connect to WiFi from the board, also able to setup a WiFi AP on the board. But when I try to connect to the new AP I see the following message in terminal and the connecting device fails after several seconds: Message from syslogd@localhost at Jan 17 18:20:38 ... kernel:[ 349.842020] Internal error: Oops: 96000004 [#1] SMP Message from syslogd@localhost at Jan 17 18:20:38 ... kernel:[ 350.021242] Process RTW_CMD_THREAD (pid: 607, stack limit = 0x0000000…

  88. I'm running some stress test on the NanoPi neo2 512mb, CPU heating reached 75-76 degrees, and it's stable, the problem that I faced is that the computer changed it's IP suddenly (after 55 minutes of test running), I guess it's because of a network card reset. Did anyone face the following issue? Is it related to the stress test? Or it's another networking problem? The test I'm running is with the "stress" tool, running long time stress on 4 CPUs. In addition, does anyone have any insights regarding this device? good or bad?

  89. Hello guys, at first I want to says thanks for the great OS that you deliver. I use it since 8 months on a bunch of nano-pi neo2's and it runs rock solid. However i rebuild from time to time the image I use from scratch in order to see that the installation is reproducable and repeatable. Today it has encountered that the installation of 'apt-get install python:armhf python-dev:armhf' failed with: # dpkg --add-architecture armhf # sudo apt-get update .... Reading package lists... Done # sudo apt-get install -y python-pip python:armhf python-dev:armhf Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Readin…

  91. Started by jstefanop,

We have deployed the zero for an integrated MCU on one of our products, and in rare occasions we are experience random lockups of the MCU (possibly related to overheating). Its pretty much impossible to debug this since it happens very rarely, but we are trying to mitigate all possible causes. The MCU is controlling a bigger and more expensive board and a fan. If there are internal failsafes that are being triggered by the MCU and locking it up (like temp) we want to disable as many of them as possible (we would rather have the MCU burn up than our main board). Anyone have any insights on orange pi zero OTP or OCP in kernel or uboot parameters we can disable?

  92. Hi,guys! when I build a pthon3 script with gui and GPIO contorl.I can run it when I use terminal with sudo command. But when I used "settings->session and startup" to config this script,It can't run when my device reboot (Orange Pi PC). I try to config command like: "echo 'password'|sudo -S python3 /home/kwan/OPi_PC/u_main.py" still the same. And then I tried to edit "/etc/rc.local" file and add: "echo 'password'|sudo -S python3 /home/kwan/OPi_PC/u_main.py &" still the same. The problem is when I run the other script without GPIO config and sudo command. It can run when device reboot. So,It's ther…

Thanks

  97. Hi, I am new to Orange Pi ecosystem. I have a Orange Pi PC 2 running armbian and some times raspbian. I want to use a wifi adapter to this. 99. Hi, I have an orange_pi_pc installed Armbian(Debian) and enable desktop. But I want to hide mouse cursor when it start. I find "Mouse and Touchpad" setting, but I can't set mouse Default Theme. Is there someone know how to hide mouse cursor on it?

  100. Greetings to all, Preamble: Thanks to all that have worked to make the Armbian project what it is today. It is greatly appreciated! I have done numerous hours of reading and searching (due diligence). I know I could run a benchmarks and all but that means even more delay reaching the objective. Some brief guidance from those who have gone before would save a lot of time and would be greatly appreciated. Looking at the datasheets wasn't real helpful in guesstimating optimum performance configuration - especially since there are so many other factors that have an impact. Background: My objective is to achieve a reliable, long lif…
