  4. Hello Community! Does anybody tried to run the .Net Core or ASP NET Core runtime package on OrangePi PC2? I was trying to install it using MS guidelines [https://www.microsoft.com/net/download/linux-package-manager/ubuntu16-04/runtime-current] but no luck. I was searching Goolge for a while, and tried bunch of common solutions related to Linux and .Net Core installation - with no luck unfortunately. I am using: OrangePI PC2 ARMBIAN 5.59.180815 nightly Ubuntu 16.04.5 LTS 4.11.1-sun50iw2

  5. Hi everyone, I'd like to ask and confirm: is there any working HDMI method with proper resolution currently for the Pi+2E, as of 5.59? I'm asking because I have tried next, I have tried dev, and I have tried the legacy kernel. None of them gave any satisfactory result at all. Mainline Kernel 4.14 -- There is HDMI graphics, but the resolution is stuck to no more than 1024x768. I read many times that this is the case when the HDMI was not detected. Kernel 4.18 -- Same thing as for 4.14. Though, as far as I know, the 4.17 should have support for HDMI. Has HDMI for H3 really landed in 4.17, or have I read wrong all over the place? …

  6. Hi, I am new to the Armbian. I have build the kernel for BananaPi M2+ using the instruction specified in Armbian document for Building with Vagrant. I could see the output file "linux-image-sun8i-5.59.armhf.deb" in the "output/debs" folder. Know I don't know how to download or install this file on the SD card which is running on my bananaPi M2+. Bascically I need guidance on how to transfer my kernel build image from my windows PC to the SD card which I will be using to test the Bananapi M2+ board. Any help or documents will be highly appreciated.

  7. Hello there, I was looking at the gc2035 camera sensor for the orange pi device. I want the camera module to load as fast as possible and take pictures as fast as possible. When I use a USB camera, it takes 2-3 seconds to load the module and activate the camera, and the camera takes 2 seconds. I'm thinking of compiling the GC2035 camera statically to the linux kernel. But I'm not sure how much time decrease. What I would like to know is, how fast is the camera taking pictures and how long is the loading time of the camera modules? Can I take pictures under 200 ms with the camera triggered? The Raspifastcamd module allows …

  15. Hi, After running the default image with legacy kernel for a few weeks, I am now trying the run a fresh SD card with the latest build of the mainline image. However, the MAC address of my device appears to be changing after each reboot - and I am running about of ideas to fix this issue. What I've tried so far: - Edit script.bin & add MAC address in the [dynamic] section - Edit armbianEnv.txt - Define an address in /etc/network/interfaces So far, I have not been able to solve the problem. Hi there, I got some NanoPi-NEO running and need to update the kernel, modules and dtb's. With 4.18 the Ethernet does not seem to get started correctly. I noticed a change in u-boot and the newer Armbian releases have Ethernet-Support in u-boot. So my basic idea is to not just copy the kernel files but also update u-boot via dd command. I suppose there are at least 3 regions in the image: 1. the partition table which I don't want to change. 2. the u-boot configuration which I'd like to keep. 3. the u-boot runtime. So for #2 and #3 I'll need an image file. I'm trying to set-up a build environment f…

  22. Hi, my current project is about using a NanoPI M1 as a controller for a 3D printer. As such, one wants to have very tight timing on the GPIO output, with as little jitter as possible, to get smooth motion of the stepper motors. However, it is common belief that getting a fast timing with little jitter is virtually impossible to do under linux, without the help of a dedicated chip just for the IO. While that is true in general on stock kernels, it's possible to vastly improve on that front by spending a little effort. One way on ARM chips is to use the FIQ. That is an interrupt that has the highest priority, which can interrupt all other, regular interrupts. Ho…

After updating the crypttab file I ran update-initramfs -u. But after reboot the drive is still locked. Why is this? I suspect it might be because of the order of things at boot. Maybe crypttab is called before the USB device is initialized? Any help would be appreciated. Edit: I had a incorrect crypttab that's why it didn't mount. It works now thanks!

Hi there, I've just got my first H3 board (OPi Zero +2) and I'm interested in learning how boot process works in detail, with a focus on Security ID features. As far I can see there's not that much documentation about S/NBROM (essentially linux-sunxi's Wiki and Allwinner-info git repo) and what's supposed to be H3's NBROM (header 1100, 1100, 1633) looks like slightly different from A10's one (from git) at first glance. Is there anyone here who has already worked on it and/or has info/symbols/pseudocode/whatever might speed up the reversing process? Thank you!

Hi, I'm tring to solve an issue on my Orange Pi Zero: at boot time the pins PA18 and PA19 are stucked to Vcc. I tried a lot of solution, now the best result is to add at the beginning of the file boot.cmd the command to clear the gpio configuration: gpio clear PA18 gpio clear PA19 and recompile the boot.scr. Despite this the pins goes HIGH for some seconds until the bootloader reach this line. What is the boot scheme? Why i get this pin HIGH? Is it because the I2C1 is configured? Is it possible to disable it? Thanks Simone

  44. I've had an Orange Pi Zero Plus 2 H5 for a few months, and it is driving me crazy. I can easily boot into the useless Android distro included on the eMMC. I can run most of the distros on the OrangePi website, although they seem to all be missing features or not working 100% in one way or another. I would LOVE to run Armbian on this board. Each time I try, I have huge problems. My video signal is often garbled or at best full of artifacts. I get segfaults every few minutes, and it seems like the filesystem is corrupted. I've tried running it with multiple power supplies (I have several Canakit 2.5amp ones), as well as several different gen…

  46. Just a quick question due to having just updated and rebooted my Cubietruck.... I was running 5.38 mainline Stretch, but I see that armbian-firmware 5.45 was installed over 5.38... so shouldn't the welcome screen now be saying "Welcome to ARMBIAN 5.45" instead of "Welcome to ARMBIAN 5.38" still? Or is that package not the one that determines the Armbian 'version'? Maybe a better question would be what would update /etc/armbian-release ? The update process was otherwise smooth and doesn't seem to have rise to any nasty surprises . I also look forward to trying out the pineH64 image since I see that has just made a big jump, as well as th…

Hi, Please see my comments in the other thread: Essentially when booting a Neo Core using the current air/core mainline image, the onboard fast ethernet is not being initialised. At a guess its because this is not included in the device tree (dtb/dts) for the nano pi air image or in uBoot config - however, if the image is to serve both boards it almost needs to - or they need to be separated. Both are probably reasonable options. Right now i'm trying to understand where the board defs for ethernet are collected during the image build using the armbian build environment and try and get a functional image with fast ethernet for the core…

  49. Hello there. I've got an Orange Pi PC+ SBC running desktop Armbian Xenial 5.38 kernel 3.4.113 from its eMMC that showed up pink screen after intermittent Power Up. I was using a 5V power adaptor that became faulty and intermittently became on and off. After replacing the power adaptor and booting up my device to a HDMI monitor, I found out that it now displays nothing but pink screen! Here's what I've done to no avail: 1. Turning on the HDMI monitor before and after I turn on the machine 2. SSHing from UART0 and suing command h3disp -m 5 (or 6 or 33 or 34...). No dice 3. Booting using the same Armbian OS but from SD card. SSH shows me the hostn…

  51. Hello armbian forum, I have an Orange PI Win plus with armbian desktop legacy kernel 3.10.y on it. I also have a extension board from my Raspberry 1 which I want to use. The Problem is that the extension board needs the pins 8 & 10 for UART communication. I read already that UART(2) over pin 8 & 10 is used for Bluetooth? I don't need Bluetooth and want to disable it to free up the pins. Uart1 Pin 38 & 40 and Uart3 Pin 11 & 13 are working finde. How can I make this? With overlays or editing the .dts files?

Or is the network support disabled in the current builds at all? Best regards Werner

That's why I've got two questions: How I can configure/compile U-Boot with WiFi support? And how I can configure it for usage with TFTPboot? Kind regards, Bread Lee

  89. Hello everyone, Is there any utility to deal with overscan when using TVout? I'm using Armbian Legacy kernel. There is a tool called Allwinner_TVOUT_manipulator, anyone have used it?

  91. Hi, I built a fresh Armbian Image from scratch (using Armbian build system). After that I used Etcher to burn .img file to SD card. Everything works great, but U-Boot shows, that there is no environment. I used saveenv and fixed a problem. Then I installed Armbian into internal memory (eMMC), same message about environment, I tried fix it same way, using saveenv, but I get only an error message and infinite loop. Screenshot attached. How I can fix that? UPD: My board - Orange Pi Zero Plus 2 Kind regards

  92. I bought a Cubieboard AIO A20 Einstein and wanted to install Armbian. Is there an image I can use to get access to this board? I tried a few images following the install with sd card with no success. I have gone back and forth burning images, reformatting the drive, test and trying again. I'm a newbie but I have completed several installs on other machines just not one like this. I'm outside my comfort zone but keep on trying. I can install to msata and boot from that and there are boot settings in the Cubie desktop. Knowing what image to use (if any for Cubieboard AIO A20 Einstein) moving forward would be helpful. Any other tips, suggestions, how to's, and successes wou…

  93. I just received 3 of the Zero Plus boards and am trying to verify they at least basically work. I'm new to Armbian & Orange Pi but have been using Raspbian & Raspberry Pi's for years. I've downloaded Armbian for the OP Zero (Armbian_5.38_Orangepizero_Debian_stretch_next_4.14.14.img), verified the gpg signature and the sha256 checksum and used Etcher v. 1.4.4 on a 2017 iMac, macOS Sierra, to burn SD cards. After burning, macOS claims "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer." Maybe that's normal for Armbian? diskutil list shows: /dev/disk8 (external, physical): #: TYPE NAME SIZE …

  94. Hello Everyone! Need your help to difficult task. I'm a newbie to micro-computers. Recently installed Armbian on Orange Pi PC Plus (H3), but can't connect to a TVusing HDMI-VGA adapter. Get just black screen, but once got a pink image (as in attachment). That HDMI-VGA adapter works well with notebook and shows picture on this TV. However, this adapter works well with Orange Pi and my Iiyama computer monitor in VGA mode. So, i completely dont understand why Orange Pi not working especially with my Sharp TV. Native resolution of TV is WXGA (1360x768). I tried many resolutions and got black screens, but in XGA (1024x768) resolut…

  96. Hello to everyone! I am trying to configure dual boot using u-boot. But I've got some misunderstandings, maybe someone will help me with that problem. When I'm booting from SD card everything works fine: rootdev=/dev/mmcblk0p1 (armbianEnv.txt) or rootdev=UUID=XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX in both cases. When I'm booting form eMMC something goes wrong: I can not set rootdev=/dev/mmcblk1p1 cause in this case I've only error message: But if I'm setting as rootdev=UUID=XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX everything works fine. Maybe it is bad way to use /dev/..., but I need it. So, I tried a lot …

Hostapd DEAUTHENTICATE my notebook. It has dual band interface - 03:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation Centrino Advanced-N 6200 (rev 35) (Linux Mint inside) .. This was happen on all Armbian images with 4.14.y kernel ... .. On Armbian Xenial with 3.4.x kernel this was no happened.. Wifi connection works fine, for a long time ... Heve anybody same problem .. ?? or not ..? Here is log:

  98. I got Armbian (Jessie desktop) working on Orange PI PC. I did "sudo apt-get update" and then "sudo apt-get upgrade" and everything was ok until it said "Compiling headers (please wait)." It has now been on this step for a very, very long time. Is it stuck or does this take a ridiculously long time to complete? Should I shut it down and start over or keep waiting? The green light is staying on steady.

  99. So trying to run some GPIO interrupts using wiringpi. Using the wiringPiISR function and setting and interrupt handler seems to work, but as soon as the first interrupt happens, the handler gets stuck in some sort of loop and just get infinitely called. Pretty sure this is some bug in sys, since the wiringPiISR function just uses sys gpio calls to do the interrupts. Could be wrong and just be an issue with how wiringPi does it. Either way has anyone come across this and know of a workaround to fix this?
