I'm using Armbian 5.38 stable Debian stretch 4.14.14-sunxi on A20 Lime2. I try to use PGxx pins (connector GPIO-1 on board), without any luck. I know i must use formula (position of letter in alphabet - 1) * 32 + pin number, so i have tried (for PG11): echo 203 > /sys/class/gpio/export echo out > /sys/class/gpio/gpio203/direction echo 1 > /sys/class/gpio/203/value but nothing happened. I tried from 192 to 203 (PG00 to PG11), but nothing happened. On the same connector (GPIO-1), PC23, PC18 and PB23 work perfectly. What am i doing wrong?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone was having issues with the ethernet port using the legacy kernel ? It does seem to kind of work ... it will get DHCP from the router and configure the routing tables etc but after that it goes wonky. When I do a ping test from the router I get "50/50 transmitted, 15/50 received, 70% loss". A ping test from the opi-win to the router gets a similar result. If I try a ping/ssh from a PC connected to the router I get a 95% packet loss Everything else seems to work fine ... HDMI, USB, WiFi (AP/STA modes) which is really, really nice. Thanks TB

Hello, I've received my OPi Zero a few days ago. I've installed Armbian 3.4.113 (Debian Jessie) on it. Everything seems to be working fine. However, I'm worried by the temperature of the thing. With just the default installation and no extra installed, I get the following: root@orangepizero:/home/sysadmin# armbianmonitor -m Stop monitoring using [ctrl]-[c] Time CPU load %cpu %sys %usr %nice %io %irq CPU 11:53:58: 912MHz 0.00 1% 0% 0% 0% 0% 0% 67°C^C root@orangepizero:/home/sysadmin# armbianmonitor -m Stop monitoring using [ctrl]-[c] Time CPU load %cpu %sys %usr %nice %io %irq CPU 12:00:13: 91…

Recently i have been experimenting with interrupts on orange pi zero plus2-H3 trying to capture data-ready pulses from an external adc on gpio PA19. The aim is to synchronize spi-read-data transactions with the incoming adc data-ready signal. First I tried to get it to work on legacy kernel 3.4 by adding the following section in to /boot/script.fex and compile the .fex file to .bin file using fex2bin: [gpio_para] gpio_used = 1 gpio_num = 6 .... gpio_pin_6 = port:PA19<0><default><default><1> This configured the pin properly as i had tested on other pins with some leds and it works. The driver code for capturing the interrupt was based o…

Hi there! I have been playing around with my NanoPi Neo 2 plus, I managed to get initramfs working thanks to the kernel config of armbian. I have just noticed a problem: only the first of the two USBs works. The second is completely dead. Big disclaimer: I am using an HTC PSU that provides only 1A, not the 2A that should be fed, although I do not know if this could be the cause of the issue. Aside from this problem, I cannot see other issues. Wifi is working and I disabled bluetooth. lsusb without anything plugged in to USB: Bus 008 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub Bus 005 Device 001: ID…

Libre software refers to the free software foundation's guidelines. Can you make an entirely libre software armbian version work on the orange pi one or other orange pi computers? How good will it work? About the orange pi one which devices will not work if only libre armbian software is installed? Notice this https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/bootlin/allwinner-vpu-support-in-the-official-linux-kernel/description If orange pi computers can work using libre software armbian, then how do they boot? Do they use uboot? Thanks.

Hello guys, do you know what might cause this error, it seems my "smart home" controller is not booting up anymore. In the last 2 weeks it happent again to not display any webpage while accessing it by IP, also the SSH was not working, all leds ware blinking like usually are, like there was normal activity, but it didn't respond to any request, only the ping was working, anything else was not (apache, samba, ssh). I turned it off by long-pressing the power button, it booted up, showing this warning "warning bad CRC - using default enviroment" and it passed by, showing the armbian logo and a blinking cursor, but that's it, nothing more. I've been using a Cubieboard2 and I have been struggling to get the SPI to work. I've edited the armbianEnv.txt and added the spi0 and spi-spidev to the overlay line. I see the overlays being loaded and I get (only when I've got the spi-spidev overlay on) a /dev/spi0.0 In the dmesg I see a line like "scanning for SPI0 on DT" (paraphrasing as I don't have the screen in front of me ATM.) I don't see any other diagnostic about the SPI though. I haven't jumpered the MOSI to the MISO yet (for a "loopback" test) The kernel is compiled with the sun7i-SPI driver as well as the usermode spi driver. Is this al…

I received NanoPi NEO and NEO Air boards along with the NanoHat PCM5102a that FriendlyArm is selling: http://www.friendlyarm.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=169 It's a good quality audio stereo out addon board compatible with NEO and NEO Air. I got it working with Armbian on NEO Air! I adapted commits from FA's repo to match Armbian's tree and get that DAC working, (original commits here: https://github.com/friendlyarm/h3_lichee/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=pcm5102a+&type=Commits). Hi everyone. I have an Orange Pi Zero. 1. I installed legacy kernel to my SD card (downloaded from https://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-zero/ ) 2. I made updates & upgrades. Afterwards, I downloaded WiringOP-Zero from https://github.com/xpertsavenue/WiringOP-Zero 3. Now here comes to problematic part. I checked my files as ls -aol /dev/spi* and could see spidev0.0 and spidev1.0. Then I wrote a test program for my SPI pins (MOSI-MISO-CLK), I can compile the program but whenever I try to use spidev1.0 I get this error below : Unable to open SPI device: No such file or directory …

Hi, first of all thanks a lot for every contributor, this is a great project, I'm an absolute fan! I'm running Armbian on an orange pi 2, everything works fine for a while. I'm running a homegrown python script with flask, this one works too. But after ~1-x hours, I can't connect anymore to my web service. This could be my problem, but in fact, neither SSH works. Hi all, I recently purchased an orange pi after developing on the raspberry pi (just for convenience). I got it mainly because the integrated memory could be a real asset both because SD are faulty when making lots of memory accesses and emmc can provide a nice layer of code protection when giving the board to somebody else. I set-up everything without issue and I used the nand-sata-install to move everything to emmc...it worked like a charm. I then placed all my proprietary code on emmc and executed without issues. Problem is, I can obviously still insert an SD card and then mount the emmc and access my code since the SD is booted before the emmc.…

Hi, I use armbian distribution on opi+2e , in order to operate the Jeedom home automation system. I occasionally encounter crashes of my opi, which becomes inaccessible in SSH. We are several users of this system to encounter the same problems. In logs, date is 1970, so we suspect a time synchronization problem. We use timedatectl for ntp synchronization, but it appears that rtc clock (fake clock) is not stable. Why? Any solution to keep rtc clock synchronous with ntp? Somes members of Jeedom community try with hardware RTC clock on I2C, and it seems working. But any existing other solutions? Thanks.

I have a Adafruit PN532 connected over UART to the orange Pi Zero on UART1(p8/10) i added the uart overlays to armbianEnv.txt and edited the libnfc.conf to include device.connstring = "pn532_uart:/dev/ttyS1" #device.connstring = "pn532_uart:/dev/ttyS1:9600". Hi! Upgrading to the mainline kernel removes /dev/snd/seq, which is needed for MIDI applications. Synthesizers are my main interest in using these boards, so that is a big loss. Since the module is enabled in the legacy kernel, perhaps this is unintentional and could be added to the mainline kernel? Thank you for all your work. Regards, brkl

Hi: I was using version 5.30 at orange-pi-pc and orange-pi-one. it is very stable. I saw some irq complain about 5.35, but I don't know if these issues affect H3 boards. I use the boards as headless server with openvpn and some DI/DO. is version 5.35 stable enough for the work? or I should stick with 5.30? thanks a lot for advice.

Hello, First of all, I did check/tried anything i could find on similar issues, for similar SBCs Main issue: only 2/4 USB ports are powered, but they don't recognize any device (keyboard, mouse, memory stick), although, if i plug in an USB hub, it lights up. I also tried an Android and and an Ubuntu LXDE, same problem. What bothers me is that mouse and keyboard worked with the original Android that came pre-installed on the board. Config: - Orange Pi plus 2E (the one with 4 USB ports) + heat sink + HDMI to VGA converter Power source: I tried 4 so far, currently using a PSU of 5.15 V and 4 Amps, through the DC input, jack ba…

Hello, I have just updated to the latest Debian Server image of NanoPI NEO 2. When connecting via Serial and using vim.basic/tiny I got the following strange behaviour: As soon as I enter the insert mode a newline is inserted automatically. This does not happen when connecting via SSH. So far I haven't experienced this behaviour with my previous image. Any ideas? Kind regards, Markus NB: textwidth is set to 0 (disabled).

Hello, I am trying to have a serial link between an arduino and a banana pi. As a basic test, the Arduino is sending "hello" every seconds. I observe that the reception by the Banana pi is not good. I have tried , several baud rates, /dev/ttyS2 and FTDi adaptor. The best result seems to be with the FTDI adapter , at 115200 bps. But I have still a lot of errors, see below. When I plug the FTDI adapter on my laptop, it works without issues. Do you know what could be the cause of my issues? I've just downloaded the Debian-server mainline image for my Olinuxino A20 Micro (Armbian_5.38 etc) and tried, without success, to change the video output from the default HDMI to the VGA one. Following the documentation (https://docs.armbian.com/Hardware_Allwinner/) I modified the boot.cmd file adding the lines: setenv video-mode sunxi:monitor=vga,hpd=0,edid=0 saveenv and recompiling it but the video continues to be enabled on the HDMI output, also after 2 (and more) restart. I noticed that in the boot splash screen a "Err: VGA" is reported. It's not too clear from the documentation if this setting can be applied also modifying the armbianEnv.txt …

Hi I've downloaded v5.38 firmware for my Cubietruck device and replaced on an older version due to my problem with new updates. Etcher was my tool for writing image on SD card and i have cleared SD card before writing new image. When new image installed and device booted up, but WiFi is not working and WiFi module is neither listed in lsmodule output nor module list file. It seems that WiFi driver is not installed or WiFi hardware is not detected. Is there any way to fix this issue? @Igor

Hi all, can some kind soul tell me if this update will break my cubieboard installation? Today I did get my NAS-Case "Neo Station NS-120B" for my NanoPi Neo2 (also useable with a normal NanoPi Neo). Because I already did use the Neo2 with armbian (and had soldered all pins on the mainboard - I ordered only the case without a new Neo2 with soldered pins) I didnt want to write the FriendlyARM Image for NAS to my uSD. After completing to built the Neo2 and the 2.5 HDD inside the case (and using the 12V PowerSupply I had) armbian did start up and I could normally SSH into my Neo2 - BUT I cant see the HDD or the HDD-controller (which should be connected via USB). ( @tkaisernow here the Neo2 do get his power over pins and not via the Mic…

Hello! I have problems with Banana Pi and for today - updated all packages, and I can't connect via SSH nor FTP to my Pi. I have not changed anything, but there is automatic script which dist-upgrades the whole system, it is running once a day. Till 12.34pm CET everything was working fine - from logs, even I think till past 4pm I have connected via SSH to Pi, but then after kernel upgrade (seen note after logon) and reboot I can't access Pi in any way. I've tried to see logs: connect SD card to laptop with Linux to check if there is any problem, but didn't found nothing special. I've also tried to attach HDMI monitor but no signal. Seem…

I have installed the 'watchdog' package (apt-get install watchdog' on an Orange Pi Plus 2E, and it does not seem to be working as I would expect. If I write output to /dev/watchdog the system will reboot, but if I stop the watchdog service (and wd_keepalive) the system does not reboot. I did un-comment the path to /dev/watchdog in the settings file, but have generally not changed anything else. Is there some other required setup needed to allow this to function?

Last year I tried the 5.30 and was not happy, as the PI did not give signal to HDMI, when monitor was plugged in while booting. After booting, plug in HDMI cable, picture was on monitor. Now tried the newer Armbian_5.38 on a 2nd Orange PI PC, and I get NO picture / signal on HDMI. Nothing. Have also changed to several resolutions, but no image on monitor or beamer. I have also tried the "DVI adapter option" in the "armbian config". What is wrong with it? I have 2 PI PCs. Same problem on the other PI (now there runs a PI HOLE, as I was not able to get a picture without un-pluging the HDMI cable, so I switched over to a Banana PI M1 for…

Hello, I'm running a Cubietruck with legacy kernel (3.4.113) since a long time. The use of the legacy kernel is mainly due to the fact that I'm booting from onboard NAND and this was not supported by the mainline kernel for a long time. Meanwhile Armbian's mainline kernel became Stretch in its server flavor and I'm thinking about migrating. However I'm suspicious this will still break NAND boot, despite the fact that the documentation claims plus "missing NAND support" is not listed under "known issues" for the Cubietruck. Can anyone confirm or deny that mainline kernel meanwhile does/does not support booting from NAND on Cubietruck? And if…

SBC is banana pi M1 I tried the banana pi at church today, things went great as for the Libreoffice impress presentations but it was hard to navigate to menus because the banana's resolution was set to 1920X1080p. Everything was too small in the projector, we need something like 1280X1024 or 800X600. I tried `a10disp changehdmimodeforce 4` to change it to 720P, on the projector but display became unstable and I had to reboot to get it back. We have two modes for projector, VGA (HDMI->VGA converter cable) or plain HDMI. Today I tried the VGA but we can also do HDMI. Please help. Thanks.

Hi all, I have an application running on an orange pi pc plus 2 over the emmc 8gb memory. Everything is in there (os, db sw) and what it does is acquiring data from some sensors and then pushing it over mqtt to a server. Hello. this is my first post. I was looking through the forum but I did not find a similar problem. About power supply - until now I did not have any problems, I use a computer power supply. Hi, I have been working on this problem for a few days. I have a orangepi plus2e and orange pi 5'' lcd. When I make all the connections and give power to the orangepi, I can not see anything on the LCD. At first only a white light comes out. I tried to set the resolution with the h3disp command, but I did not see the proper resolution. I did these on a different computer screen, and when I changed the resolution, nothing appeared on this screen.
