Armbian now has a community supported build target for amlogic TV Boxes (aml-s9xx-box). You can now build your own builds directly with the Armbian build system. This is now an opportunity for members of the community to move the support for amlogic TV boxes forward within the Armbian framework. Hello everyone! I am running Armbian in a BTV11 box (Amlogic S905X3) alongside the "meson-sm1-sei610.dtb". My cabled ethernet connection is working fine but not WIFI. No networks are found. I have already tried alternatives like meson-sm1-sei610-ethfix.dtb, that leads to my ethernet to also stop working. At first the Kernel was looking for `brcmfmac4330-sdio.seirobotics,sei610.bin` firmware, that doesnt exist in Armbian. So I made a symlink pointing to a generic `brcmfmac4330-sdio.bin`. I want to transform the box into a desktop to help my kids with online school. Need to run windows manager with internet browser to have acces to google classroom and google meet. Hello guys! I have android TV box called netup with PCB called S905X inside of box. First of all i installed TWRP. Then i tried to use manuals, but my PCB doesn't have reset button. In android i couldn't press "update" and run zip script. Software didn't see any zip. Screen was empty. Then i somehow killed android and got a brock with TWRP. Hi i have done a few boxes with armbian installed, some boxes wifi do not work but that is to be expected.But i got a amlogic box now that is giving me intrm error,It seems i can boot armbian and it loads up but after the loading it just get stuck at intrims.This has somethnig to do with the boot process from sd card.When i boot it form usb stick it works fine but the same setup from sd card gives me that error. I suspect the second part to boot the os is controlled by the box,I need to have first boot all the time What can i do to modify the sd card.

Hi, I am running Armbian on x96 mini with S905W chip. There are four K4B2G0446D chips which from data sheet is 512MB each. The only DTB's files that work for me are `meson-gxl-s905w-p281.dtb` and `meson-gxl-s905w-tx3-mini.dtb`. Is there a way to validated for sure if I have 2GB of RAM? Is there other dtb files for the 2GB variant?

Hello. I have easily managed to get armbian up and running of a usb stick, in fact everything worked perfect (hdmi, wifi, gbit ethernet, etc.). The tv box is h96-air-gbit (as the dtb is named), amlogic s905x3 soc, 32gb mmc, 4gb RAM, gigabit ethernet, 2xusb 2.0, 1xusb 3.0, sd card, hdmi, av port (reset button inside), spdif. The thing is, I wanted to benefit from the 32gb internal mmc storage, since I was running armbian from a 8gb usb stick (had a lot of those hanging around, and didn't want to buy a bigger one). Hi, I have installed Armbian on an SD card and can successfully boot from SD by holding reset button during power plug. Given that it is not possible to install Armbian to eMMC on S905, is it possible at least to make it always boot from SD?

I have located a G11 pro and would appreciate guidance on how to install Armbian on it. I have attempted various solutions, but none have been successful. Additionally, I am unable to select from the recovery menu without a remote control.

I follow the method here: My box can now see the wifi, but there are a few quirks: 1. It sees only some of the 5Ghz band. For example, it can't see my own 5Ghz AP, but can see my neighborhood 5G APs 2. when connected with either 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz band, and I did the speed test. It is fine with the download speed, but the upload speed is just less than 1Mbps, always. Thus, the connection is virtually useless, e.g. I can vnc to it, but it shows black screen because the screen can't be uploaded to my vnc client due to the upload speed problem. Hello, I have an old TV Box model MX-III-4K with S802 CPU and I booted into Armbian from an USB stick. I found an older Armbian version (and dtb) that works on this box and I have network and everything, so I'm happy with it, except that I would like to add also NAND support. Anyone can advise me how can I do that? Basically I would like to be able to access its internal NAND, to read it/write into it. Hello, i think i bricked my H96 Pro Plus, like a year ago i installed Armbian on it. Today i flashed a SD with a new version, reinstalled octoprint etc and finally tried to burn it to the emmc using "./install-aml.sh" it seemed to work the process ended and i powered it off, removed the SD and tried to boot it up. The only thing i see is the H96 Pro+ Logo and thats it. I tried to boot from the SD Card again but it didn't work. I reflashed the SD card, changed the dtb file etc, just to make sure it would boot normally but nothing. My device is phicomm-n1, and my steps were: 1. Edit /extlinux/extlinux.conf 2. Rename u-boot-s905x-s912 to u-boot.ext 3. ./install-aml.sh Now the EMMC is at the highest priority. Hello, I have some troubles with this TVBOX: it runs armbian and other distros correctly, using the meson-gxm-t95z-plus.dtb but sometimes wifi goes into kernel panic at boot, and when it does, the whole system becomes unstable (i.e. not rebooting, eth0 hangs...). I have extracted the original .DTB from the only firmware that exists for this box, the ancient 6.0 Marshmellow Android (I guess it's a 3.x kernel...). Trying to figure out how to initiate toothpick mode in order to flash a minimal iot Armbian image. I found a recovery1 button (accessed from a pinhole) but holding this while powering on, or holding the 'power' button while powering on, doesn't seem to get me anywhere. It seems that whenever I insert my 32G sdcard (maybe not supported?), something happens where the stock android does not boot after the initial MINIX splash screen, but just sits on a black screen (regardless of how I may have powered it on). I can't boot into the armbian. It hangs at "waiting for a root file system", and repeats the line many times. Then says "Give up waiting for root file system device. Then, " Alert UUID=UUID-number-here does not exist, dropping to shell". It is armbian 24.5 image and dtb file is /dtb/amlogic/meson-sm1-sei610.dtb. I created the u-boot.ext from u-boot-s905x3 file. I may add that neither the .zip or the toothpick method worked for me but finally got the booting sequence to run the S905 Autoscript by altering some variables using the setenv command through the serial interface. Hello everyone, I have three Amlogic S905x TV boxes with a dead EMMC, and one with a desoldered EMMC (since I thought without it, they would boot from the microSD card). Is there a way to force them to boot into Armbian? Holding the power button doesn't work, and desoldering the EMMC didn't help either. I was able to boot Armbian using UART. Hello to all January of 2020 I installed armbian on my Mini M8s (S905X). The installation is on e-MMc and I did not keep a backup of the original eMMc firmware. It is Debian Buster. So I am stuck on linux 5.3.0-aml-g12. What is the upgrade path to a more recent kerner and/or Debian version? If possible I would like to keep my root filesystem, I have some servers running on it. As far as I understand the SPDIF and AV ports are not supported with Armbian, however, HDMI Audio is I think. (install_aml_gxl_emmc.sh) After I tried the latest firmware (Armbian_23.02.0-trunk_Aml-s9xx-box_kinetic_edge_6.0.12_xfce_desktop), I felt a big change in speed. I fried SOIC-8 IC (Probably power management) on H96 Max X2 PCB (I-BOX TV) by applying 12V If anyone (@Thang?) has a board like that, please take a close up of that chip on the back side. I might be able to source it and replace it. Original related topic by Thang is here. BTW, there is native console available on pretty much all Armbian boards, that lets you see linux messages before they appear on the HDMI port. It helps to understand the bootloader sequence, u-boot sequence and gives you root access.

Hello, i tried "Armbian_community_25.11.0-trunk.208_Aml-s9xx-box_plucky_edge_6.16.7_xfce_desktop.img" booting from a usb stick. First it looked, that it loads (the minix logo disappeared for some 100ms) which indicates that it loads, but then at the end the internal android booted. For comparison "LibreELEC-AMLGX.aarch64-13.0-nightly-20250926-2f25ce3-box.img.gz" booted fine, even from the sdcard slot. My final goal is, to run "tvheadend" as server with a "Hauppauge WinTV-soloHD" Usb STick and "Moonlight" client for "sunshine" on a 1280x1024@60hz nec display. I got couple of Amlogic S905 and S905x boxes. And i think i've used at least a 7-8 hours to see if i can get these to work again. I tried to use the lastest images with S905 boxes, and it is has been a real hassle to get it working. Some times i had to hook up an USB disk in addition to get it to boot the rootfs. And when i finally get into the OS, the network won't work. Both the built in Ethernet port and an USB Ethernet adapter. Both can detect a link, but unable to to receive IP from DHCP nor is it possible when manually assigned to get it to ping the GW. Is support for such devices by @balbes150still something that he still does?

Can someone please help me install Linux on my Ninkbox? I have tried various S905X3 images I can find on the net and burned to an SD card but cannot get any of them to boot. I need explicit instructions and a working image for my Ninkbox N8 plus. The image that seemingly works with my unit has a dead link from all the resources on the web so I cannot find this image to download. If anyone can help me and point me in the right direction I would be very grateful. I am particularly interested in running any distro with a good package manger like Debian / Ubuntu.
