  2. Hello, I hope someone might help me on this. Is anyone here using the ENC28J60 Ethernet port on an Orange Pi Zero 2W or Orange Pi Zero 3? If so, can you please share the file .dts (or .dtbo) that is working for you? I've generated a .dtbo using the file in https://github.com/armbian/sunxi-DT-overlays/blob/master/examples/spi-enc28j60.dts, with: dtc -I dts -O dtb -o /boot/overlay-user/spi-enc28j60.dtbo spi-enc28j60.dts but still it doesn't work. It says "chip not found". I'm using the same cable pinout as in my Raspberry Pi Zero 2W and it works successfully, but not in the Orange Pi Zero 2W. Any idea?

In armbian-config when we got to the “system” section and select “Hardware” is not existing w1-gpio or OZPI v3 has not support for w1-gpio hardware ? Does not work because there is no device tree file (in the /boot/dtb/allwinner/) and we need to create it ??? like for OZPI v2 ?: 1. 6. Hi all, First post here. I have been running Armbian on my original Bananapi Pro for a long while now, and thought that it's time to upgrade from Bullseye to Bookworm finally. There were some complications with UsrMerge that I had to resolve manually (I think some boot files from the original Buster installation were both in /lib and /usr/lib), but apart from that the upgrade appears to have worked: All userspace stuff is on Bookworm. # lsb_release -a No LSB modules are available. But with the latest ARMBIAN Image for the Orange Pi PC Plus Armbian_23.11.1_Orangepipcplus_bookworm_current_6.1.63.img.xz I have issues in this constellation. 10. Hi guys, its the first time im gonna post here so bear with me, i am a recent user of orange pi zero 3, one with 4GB RAM and i have been able to run the latest community release on it, things work besides audio thru hdmi, but i have noticed that the video encoding and decoding is not working, albeit 3d acceleration works thru panfrost and Mesa. I have been digging this topic and i wanted to share what i found and maybe validate if im right or perhaps i am not getting this well. 1. Video encoding and decoding in G31-MP2 is something separated from what Mesa and panfrost would do, so even if those work i cant get video acceleration with h.264 etc. …

The patches were taken from a git repository by warpme: https://github.com/warpme/minimyth2/tree/master/script/kernel/linux-6.6/files , and probably came from the Zunlong SDK. A lot of the code was written by Allwinner. @pixdrift generated a version of the patches for Armbian and I continued to work on them. I have a git repository if anyone would like to test, partic…

Hello! I have a Zero2 board with 1GB of RAM. I compiled a Debian 12 desktop image for Zero2 using Armbian and I want to play online videos through a web browser. Unfortunately, the results have been disappointing as the performance for 1080p videos is very slow. I tried using swap, but it didn't help. I also attempted to play 1080p videos using MPV and VLC. MPV can still play the videos, but it feels sluggish, and VLC gets stuck on the screen until the playback is finished. I would like to know how to configure Zero2 on Linux to achieve video acceleration. I'm new to this, so I would appreciate some guidance. Thank you!

I tried a new sd installation and it too does not appear on the network. Right now I don't have a serial cable to check but it is possible that the network driver is missing or not working. 38. Hi, I am having a problem getting the graphical login to work... What I run is an ubuntu jammy image with gnome, however when I boot with my tv connected via hdmi it seems to work at first but finally I end up with a screen just displaying the above error. armbianEnv.txt contains the line "disp_mode=1920x1080p60" (a mode my TV supports), yet when the device starts it uses the 4k mode - could this be part of the problem? When testing my most recent builds using the Armbian build framework I found that I was experiencing a constant load greater than 1.00. At first, I thought this is probably normal to have a load during the system boot but after waiting over 10 minutes I found that the load did not decrease. Firstly, I used HTOP but could not find a process that was heavy utilising the CPU with the relative CPU usage show as low. Next I tried using TOP which revealed a process called kworker: freezeable_power. I have a NanoPi Neo V1.4 running Armbian 23.8.1 bullseye with kernel nanopineo 6.1.63-current-sunxi. Now, that I got my micro-USB port working for a SD card holder, I want to programmatically backup my boot SD on a regular base to another SD. Yes, it works by a full dd-copy. but this is quite time consuming and I want to skip some directories while backup, which does not work with dd. The idea: Take a new SD (same model as source SD) Create a new partition table and a primary partition 1 with fully equal parameters as my source SD Format partition 1 with ext4 and mount to /mnt rsync all files (exclude some directories as e.g…

Yesterday, I tried to use the digital IO in my opi zero3, with the Python GPIO package from https://opi-gpio.readthedocs.io/en/latest/ by Richard Hull It depends on having sysfs files in /sys/class/gpio/ My original opi zero has these files and it works, but my opi zero3 doesn’t have these files I learned that /sys/class/gpio is created if the linux kernel is configured with a specific option ON, as suggested in the documentation: https://github.com/rm-hull/OPi.GPIO https://linux-sunxi.org/GPIO Also, a developer has made a change on the opi.GPIO project to support opi zero3 https://github.com/rm-hull/OPi.GPIO…

Hello fellow Sunxi forum members, Some may know me from previous Armbian adventures, primarily Orange Pi Zero 3... but I have jumped brands for a change of scenery (but not SoC). When researching H61X based boards for the Zero 2 and Zero 3 development we were doing in another thread, I found the Sipeed LonganPi 3H, which is a relatively new board that took a while to find. It was shipped quickly in a nice quality hard plastic storage case and.. best of all.. it has two hardware buttons.. so I can rese…

  58. Hello. For some reason, UART1 does not work for transmission, only for reception. The transmitter pin itself is definitely working, I checked by switching this pin to output mode, and then switching it to a high/low logical level, everything works properly, the level on the Pin changes. How I check the UART itself: I installed picocom, shorted the TX and RX pins, and I’m trying to see what I’m sending. For UART2 this method works as it should, but UART1 only works for reception. I realized this when I opened the TX and RX, and was able to receive incoming data sent through the USB-UART converter.

  95. Greetings! I have acquired for cheap this old board. It runs an old Android (4.x) and I'd like to run Armbian on it, but lack the knowledge to do that by myself. The idea would be to start with booting a Linux a SD image, then attempt to install it on the onboard flash in place of Android. The board is not for sale anymore and the manufacturer removed any mention of it from their site, however Archive.org has a copy along with related files, manuals, firmware etc: https://web.archive.org/web/20140701064007/http://www.giadatech.com/index.php?act=pShow&id=36 The board presents itself when not in USB host mode as "SoftwinerEvb" which appears to be …

Hello, I just started to use my old BananaPi M1 (Armbian 23.8 Bookworm) to check sensor values by onewire and i2c. At last there was no problem with onewire But I cannot get I2c to work. /boot/armbianEnv.txt overlay_prefix=sun7i-a20 overlays=i2c2 w1-gpio param_w1_pin=PI3 For onewire I had to define "param_w1_pin=PI3" even if my onewire sensor is connected to GPIO7. for I2C I checked "lsmod | grep i2c" but couldnt find anything. So ieven if it is not correctly activated, I could run "i2cdetect -y 2" and could find my sensor at 0x76 but couldnt communicate with it. I think I need to load "i2c-bcm2708 i2c-dev". Ho…

  97. I recently picked up an Orange Pi Zero 3 and have been trying to figure out how to get the i2c pins working on the GPIO. The pinout shows pins 2 and 3 (229 and 228 according to the orange pi version of wiringPi) being used to i2c-3. The downloadable images seem to be hodge-podge with the orange-pi-os version based on arch linux. But their instructions appears to be based on earlier orange pi models that had an Orange Pi OS based on armbian which included a 'orangepi-config' command similar to raspi-config. There is no orangepi-config in the arch-based Opi-OS. A third party image from leeboby includes a current buster version of Raspbian but while it contains raspi-co…

  98. Hi, I could enable "spidev" support by armbian-config -> system -> hardware (enable spidev) . Everything worked fine. However, the original spidev module supports messages only up to 4096 bytes. I compiled a new version of custom spidev.ko with the 32,768 buffer size. Then, converted it to spidev.ko.xz ( xz -v spidev.ko) and replaced the original file under /lib/modules/5.15.85-sunxi/kernel/drivers/spi/spidev.ko.xz The new module works fine when I install it manually: insmod /lib/modules/5.15.85-sunxi/kernel/drivers/spi/spidev.ko.xz However, after the reboot the original 4096-byte version of "spidev" module is loaded magically.…

  99. Hello, I installed 2022-09-27-Armbian_22.11.0-trunk_jammy_edge_lubuntu_5.19.6-qt5-swap-bpi-p2z-10804MB.img on my Banana Pi Zero and it works great! I run sudo apt update , sudo apt upgrade ... Hours later, time to reboot. The board reboots and crashes.. See pic. Hmmm can't attach pics for some reason. First error I see on the screen says Failed to load '/boot/dtb/sun8i-h2-plus-bananapi-p2-zero.dtb libfdt fdt_check_header(): FDT_ERR_BADMAGIC No FDT memory address configured. Please configure the FDT address via "fdt addr <address>" command. Aborting! Then a bunch of other errors …
