Having a problem with my board and screen. Recently purchased a couple of inexpensive touch screens that work dandy for pi and lepotato but the resolution on renegade is too high and text just looks like dust on a 7 inch monitor. I took a look at potato xorg driver.conf and there's a lot of modes listed, but on renegade I see: Section "Device" Identifier "NOGPU" Driver "fdev" Endsection And xrandr -- listmonitors output: Failed to get size of gamma for output default Monitors 1 0: +default 1600/423x900/238+0+0. I'm still learning things, but I know exactly how to brick it again 😃. I hope I…

Dear maintainers, thank you very much for your fantastic job! I di know how difficult to support different Chinese dev. motherboards. But I would like to ask you for a help: I use TinkerBoard S Rel.2.0 with latest armbian available for the board. It works perfect with HDMI 7inch screen from BigTreeTech company (BTT). However, I would like to use it with BTT 4.3inch DSI Display, which is developed for Raspberry Pi. BTT provided a 43DPI driver guidance for Raspbian which is here: bigtreetech/TFT43-DIP: DPI Driver, but it might work for kernel > 4.5 or 5.x. Moreover, in your distro there is no config.txt but there is the armbianEnv.txt. So, it is obvious,…

I am encountering a problem with my Orangepi4 where I am unable to get the Bluetooth connection to work properly with my speaker. Specifically, after connecting the Bluetooth, there is no option in the audio output settings to use the Bluetooth speaker as the output device. I have tried installing Bluetooth support using armbian-config and have also attempted restarting both the Bluetooth service and the system, but none of these solutions have been successful. Here is the system log for reference: (link to the log: https://paste.armbian.com/esohoyezit) I would greatly appreciate any assistance or guidance on resolving this issue. Thank you.

Hello guys! 🙂 I used to configure latest Armbian @ Orange Pi 5 B in such particular way: https://dragonserw.ru/arm64:orangepi-5. The problem is: Gnome settings does not save. Everything is okay, till i attach a dougther board (https://z-wave.me/products/razberry-old/) to the Rockpi. Normaly it boots fine from SDcard, but after attaching the that dougther board it won't boot anymore. It seems to stuck in uboot. Hi - First, thanks for building armbian, it's so useful! I'm a bit confused with the status of Rock 5A. I saw the link in the 5B section to download the 5A which directs me here https://mirror-us-phx1.armbian.airframes.io/dl/rock-5a/archive/ to a 23.8.3. But I can't find any other desktop version except the XFCE one. Now, if I go there https://k-space.ee.armbian.com/archive/rock-5a/archive/ I have a cinnamon desktop version but it's a 23.5. Is there no build for 23.8 + cinnamon or is this a mirror issue? Or is the Rock5A not yet officially supported and I should move my question?

Sorry I'm not able to find the sub category for M4V2 so I chose R4S instead. But please keep in mind that this is a bug report for NanoPi M4V2. So my box has been running well for 5 years without any issue, through multiple system upgrade from armbian buster to trixie. However after I upgrade the kernel from 6.12.58 to 6.18.10 just a couple of days ago, the system started to have some weird behavior. The main symptom is that I'll lose the network connection from the box once it starts up, and it could happen after just a few minutes, or a couple of hours. I have to power cycle the box to get it back online as I don't have any peripherals, and soon I will lose …

To prevent APT from installing <other-device> kernels that will render an installation useless I did the following: To see which kernel is running: $ uname -r 6.11.2-current-rockchip-rk3588 To see which kernels are installed: $ dpkg --get-selections 'linux-image*' inux-image-current-rockchip-rk3588 install linux-image-edge-rockchip-rk3588 install Its clear to see that I need "rockchip-rk3588" kernels and not the other 1000+ so wonderfully provides. As per the title: Using the image Armbian_22.11.2_Rock-5b_bullseye_legacy_5.10.110 Formatting an nvme ssd partition as BTRFS and running the armbian-install utility, install using SPI to boot, targeting ththe btrfs partition, and selecting BTRFS in the prompt results in a failure to boot. Reformatting that same partition as EXT4 and rerunning armbian-install (and making no changes to the data loaded to /de/mtdblock0) targeting the EXT4 partition, and the device boots using the SPI loader.

Is there a method to boot with BSP kernel (the 4.4 kernel supplied by Rockchip/Radxa) on an existing install (jammy) to compare power usage to mainline kernel (5.15.y current or even 5.19.y rolling)? I tried using the switch kernel support in armbian-config, but the linux-image-legacy-rockchip64 4.4.213-rockchip64 just hung during early boot and had to recover to linux-image-current-rockchip64 5.15.69 . P.S. This is related to my question on the Radxa forums about reducing Rock Pi 4 B+ power usage.

Hi, My PC doesn't recognize my tinkerboard S. Would this be a problem with my tinkerboard or my PC setup? The red led is on when I connect the power cable. A USB-C cable connects the tinkerboard to the PC. However, the PC gives no response when the USB-C cable is plugged in nor do I see anything under device manager indicating a COM port connection. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you.

Would anyone be able to help me out with instructions for installing armbian to the EMMC of my Rock Pi N10? I'm trying to get wifi working with the new wifi chip on the official image 23.5 but it seems to be missing the dtb for the Orange Pi 5b. Does anyone mind posting that file? I did follow the steps to extract that file from an official image but I can't trace the source anymore. Also any update on the availability of the 23.5 images in the apt? I just switched my release to nightly but it still shows 23.02 Thanks Erik

Hello, I am new to this forum and struggling with some stuff on the Tinkerboard S R2.0. I use the CLI-version of Armbian Jammy of 23 october 2022. I have to activate several features. Installing a modem: not a single USB-device gets recognized by lsusb. I am stuck at the very beginning. lsusb is working on the xfce but we want a leaner system. This image seems to be quite unstable. Device is going up and down all the time. I am unable to find the problem myself. Maybe someone can take a look and help me to fix my stability issue: Debug output: https://paste.armbian.com/sozozoyahi

It's quite some time ago that I used my rockpi however today I wanted to restart my project again (some sensors with an A/D Board connected to SPI). First of all I tested the Board on a Raspberry Pi (with Raspbian) there it is working as expected so it is not a hardware issue. I connected my board MOSI = GPIO2_B2 (Pin 29), MISO = GPIO2_B1 (Pin 31), CS = GPIO2_B4 (Pin 33), Clock = GPIO2_B3 (Pin 7). The matter is that it sometimes works and the correct data is received but just once in a while. For me it seems that the CS is not working properly but how to get SPI communication working correctly? In the attached screenshot the value 744 is the correct value, i …

Hello, I have had a nanopc-t4 and a few others for a long time now. I have tried to create a working dtb for it a few different times. My understanding of device trees is superficial I have not had good success. I have read the kernels DT docs many times. I can of course run an ancient 4.19 kernel but I would much rather be at the edge. Currently I've got armbian 22, but no edp. I can boot Friendly's lubuntu and then the edp works. Although it is edp or hdmi not both. I must unplug the edp to get the hdmi port to work. Which is really undesirable. If I remember, it can only enable 2 of its 3 hdmi ports at a time, so that is likely a simple DT c…

I have my RK3399-based device booting with my own working kernel and device tree. I want to erase the root partition and install Debian from one of the official ARM distros, but I'm not sure how to do this. Obviously, I can't just boot into the Debian installer like on an X86 machine. What I think I need is a root partition of a vanilla Debian install, because then I can just point U-boot to the root partition and Debian should boot (hopefully into an installer). What's the best way to proceed?

Hi, I am wondering if people have tried the Banana-Pi M7 board with `armbian monitor -m` and `stress --cpu 8` in different ssh or window terminals, both with bare board, with metal case, and also with different kernels ? I have had temperature issues with Banana-Pi M3 RockChip boards, and am wondering if M7's suffer the same.

Hello, I am trying to boot my 4C+ from SPI. I soldered the chip and after adding "overlays=spi-jedec-nor" and "param_spinor_spi_bus=1" in "/boot/armbianEnv.txt", "ls /dev/mtdblock0" returns a result. After running "nand-sata-install" the entry "Boot from SPI - system on SATA, USB or NVMe" is missing.

Dear community, I just wanted to politely and respectfully ask whether somebody from the Orange Pi 5 or Orange Pi 5 Plus maintainer group wants to maintain the Orange Pi 5 Pro as well? It's using almost the same SoC, a Rockchip RK3588S. Right now, the device is on "community" maintenance, which is a bit sad since its brother/sister boards are on "standard". This means everyone who uses it has to use rolling release instead of being on a stable version. Being relatively close to the other two RK3588-based boards, I hope this can be done? But I don't want to sound like an ass for asking. I just wanted to use the two "Pro" I've bought for …

Hi guys, I need to be able to see the pins on my board. In the official distribution of Orange Pi, I was able to install the Xunlong WiringOP script. I know I can use /sys/class/gpio/ to define the pins and use them, but that's not what I want. I would like to be able to use something like the "gpio readall" command.

I've tried installing k3s on my OP5Pro and it did not work out because I was missing a couple of things on the kernel. I read the docs on building a new kernel. Did that and was able to get a working 6.1.75 kernel. Even though i got some errors when installing the generated packages. What I did not find in the documents is how I can work on a new kernel. Say 6.11. Has anyone done this? Can you help me out? Thanks! P.D. On a side note. I built this kernel in the OP it self and it was kinda slow. What image can I load in vmware under a macbook air m3 to compile and build faster?

First of all thanks to the people maintaining armbian for helios64. I recently upgraded (well I reinstalled) to trixie and everything mostly runs stable for me. However I have a problem with the 2.5GB adapter. It is connected to a 2.5GB switch and when for example running iperf3 I get proper results close to 2.5 GBit. So in general it seems to be running ok. I have a DLNA server (minidlna) running on that machine and when I stream from my TV (streaming via VLC from my laptop triggers the same problems) the network connection drops for a moment and works again after a few seconds (which you can guess is super annoying when watching something). I am not sure wha…

rk3588-pcie_bifurcation_2x2-uboot.patchrk3588-pcie_bifurcation_2x2.patch Attached are two patches I've prepared. One for uBoot (to correctly recognize split pcie3x4 to two independent controllers, pcie3x4 and pcie3x2), and one for DT of NanoPC T6. This basically allows you to use trimmed-down bifurcation adapter. The adapter in question must be trimmed down/cut to fit on the back of the board. Tested with 2x NVME, and 1xNVME and QCNFA765 wireless card. I'll post photos later once I'll disconnect the board again from my setup. BEWARE!!! If you'd plan to use more than one ath11k wireless card, you'd need QRTR patch. Since the SBL …

I am working on a new version of the Luckfox Core3566 Board and Patches, as well as adding the Orange PI CM4 board to Armbian. Both rely on the Rockchip RK3566. Luckfox Core3566 Starting with the Core3566: The current board is just the vendor u-boot and kernel. It lacks PCIe support, but surely it is helpful to be as near to manufacturer configuration in their patches. My board config on the other side is not supporting the vendor specific patches, but based on a clean u-boot v2025.10 and runs nicely with current and edge kernels and also runs smoothly with nvme storage. The luckfox-core3566 config is currently maintainerless, but maybe users would lik…

The armbian edge image for the FriendlyElec CM3588-NAS is currently on kernel 6.17 but has no HDMI audio despite it having been added in 6.15 (I think). This is simply because it has not been enabled in the device tree for this board. You can enable it with this user overlay: /dts-v1/; /plugin/; / { fragment@0 { target-path = "/hdmi0-sound"; __overlay__ { status = "okay"; }; }; fragment@1 { target-path = "/hdmi1-sound"; __overlay__ { status = "okay"; }; }; };

I installed tvheadend on Armbian 22.08 Jammy and Bullseye using the 5.15 kernel. Tvheadend runs fine for a while and then freezes and disconnects filling the log file with the following message: rock64 kernel : au0828: recv_control_msg() Failed receiving control message, error -71. I am using a Rock64 Ver. 2 with usb dvb tuner for tvheadend and it is stable running Bullseye with kernel 4.4.213. I am not sure what changed between these kernel ve…

I’m using an Orange Pi 3B running Armbian Trixie Minimal as a headless SBC. It has been working fine for a couple of months, but after a recent reboot, it failed to connect to the network. After connecting an HDMI cable to troubleshoot, I realized the system is no longer auto logging in; it gets stuck at the login screen. Once I log in manually, I found that the wired network (Ethernet) isn't working at all, though wireless is functioning fine. I even tried flashing the latest image from the website, but the issues persist. To summarize, I have two main problems: - Wired connection (Ethernet) is not working. - The system no longer auto-logs in after bo…

Dear Community, This might only be with the NanoPI-r6c images, but the SHASUM contains a temporary path which you don't have an thus fails. Since we cannot change the SHASUM because then the ASC would fail, I have a temporary workaround: sed 's,/.*/,,' armbian.img.sha | sha256sum -c In a script you could either 1. CD into the directory of the image 2. Run the SHASUM there 3. Use $OLDPWD to return or correct the SHASUM inline: sha256sum /path/to/file | sed 's,/.*/,,' > armbian.img.sha Dantes

Today I upgraded my Helios64, and after reboot it didn't come back. (Waited for 5 minutes or so) After connecting a serial cable (via the USB-C connector), and rebooting, I saw a normal bootloader log (as far as I can see), but no kernel log, just a repeated 'ERROR: rockchip_plat_sip_handler: unhandled SMC (0x82000003)'. I rebooted again, to create a bootlog file, and I saw the same. Then suddenly, after a minute or so, I saw network activity, and my Helios64 was back. Now I have 3 questions. 1) Why didn't it boot twice, and then succeeded? 2) Why is there no kernel bootlog? 3) What is an unhandled SMC? The log ended with …
