Good news. Thanks to the work of many, there is now a real opportunity to run the Armbian system with the main core on Jetson Nano, and more importantly, it is easy to integrate the image build process into the official GIT Armbian. In the near future, I plan to post ready-made images with the latest kernel 5.10.22 on the download site. To run them, you need to update u-boot to Jetson Nano. This is very easy to do, just run the latest official version of Ubuntu for Jetson Nano from the SD card, it will update itself in SPI (?) u-boot to the latest version (2020.04), after that you can run Armbian from any SD card or USB media. The new u-boot supports automatic syst…

The hummingboard edge has a RS485 port on UART2? What would it take to get to get this running? The latest build does not have ttymxc1 enabled. And I think the driver for the RS485 is different than the normal RS232 Driver. thanks

Hi Guys, First thanks fo rthe hard work, but as in other threads here every now and again we get an issue moving up kernel versions. Mostly this is a post to flag up I had issues, so might you and that reverting the kernel fixed it for me. I did an apt-get update; apt dist-upgrade (I run this every other day normaly) and it did a kernal update from Linux cubox 5.9.14-imx6 #20.11.3 SMP Fri Dec 11 20:57:51 CET 2020 armv7l GNU/Linux to Linux version 5.10.12-imx6 It appears to all work.... however I use my Cubox-i to be a server for Kodi. When I play flac files (which are quite big) it down loads th…

Hello, first of all thank you for the development of the Armbian software. I am currently using version Armbian_22.08.2_Uefi-x86_bullseye_current_5.15.69 on my Terramaster F5-221. Unfortunately I have two small problems. Firstly, there is no linux header for the kernel used for compiling. Secondly, unfortunately I can't add a network interface in openmediavault. That always gives me an error. It works on Debian with Openmediavault. unfortunately this surprises me. Failed to execute command 'export PATH=/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin; export LANG=C.UTF-8; export LANGUAGE=; omv-salt deploy run --no-color systemd-networkd 2…

Hi, After a power shutdown, my Cubox-i 4 Pro does not boot anymore. I am running on it Debian Stretch since years. My system is on a hard drive (/dev/sda1). Hello everyone! I'm trying to install nvidia graphic card driver to the Jetson Nano after I successfully started bookwork on it. I have nouveau running and I don't understand how/if it is possible to switch to nvidia one. Can you guys please help me to understand whether it is possible at all? Am I missing something? Probably was Googling wrong keywords. For now I understand that Nvidia SDK supported by nvidia requires too old version of their ubuntu-based l4t linux which I don't like at all.. Thanks in advance!

Wondering if it is possible to replace pfsense (freebsd 14) with Armbian on a netgate sg-2100 appliance? https://shop.telappliant.com/product/sg-2100-pfsense-security-gateway-appliance/ I have the version with an additional 32GB M.2 SSD and it looks like the mvebu_armada-37xx board is supported by the generic Armbian, but I struggle to get from u-boot to starting the installer from usb (used the Armbian_23.5.1_Uefi-arm64_bookworm_current_6.1.30_minimal.img), with the usbboot command. Below is the current u-boot environment. I have masked some parts with "xxxxx" and probably won't need half of these variables, as they are very vendor specific, for example netgateid etc…

I've got a Cubox-i 4 running Armbian stretch 4.16.8 and I noticed that the frequency never seemed to drop below 996MHz (even when on zero load) using sudo cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/policy0/cpuinfo_cur_freq whereas armbianmonitor -m showed the same, occasionally showing 792MHz. Looking at Orange Pi Zero I managed to see what the issue might be. Changing /etc/default/cpufrequtils to "powersave" dropped the frequency to 396MHz but stayed there even when under stress (stress -c 4 -t 60). Changing the value to "conservative" gave me what I wanted. 396MHz with no load, rising to 996MHz when under load. Hopefully others might find th…

I am trying to compile the full OS image (incl. kernel and u-boot) for nanopifire3 target but fail every time. I am following the provided build instructions. I have tried compiling on multiple machines, but the one I am using has 8 cores and 12gb RAM. I have tried in an Ubuntu 22.04 LXC container, Ubuntu 22.04 in a VM, and the the docker container provided by Armbian. My kernel has the binfmt_misc module loaded (verified with lsmod), no spaces are present in build path, and I have tried both root user and sudo as a regular user. I have also checked the similar issues on the armbian forum Please forgive me if anything is incorrectly formatted or so, I have…

I am using klipperscreen a simple gui with touch controls. before installing I could use my screen without issues and I installed everything on the screens terminal. Now that klipperscreen is installed I see the boot sequence and than the signal gets lost. I already checked the klipperscreen guides and forums and if it doesnt report errors its the…

Hello everone. I'm new to embedded linux. To start with, I have nanopi fire 3 and smart 6818 cards, but I cannot access gpio pins with any gpio library. Why doesn't the NPi-GPIO library work with these cards? At first I was using the lubuntu version, I tried a lot there, but I couldn't. Now I'm trying to do something using armbian version 21.04. Hey guys, since noone seems to care at the solid-run forum, I ask here. I would like to compile SDL2 with opengles and vivante support. I've installed the drivers from this post http://forum.solid-run.com/linux-on-cubox-i-and-hummingboard-f8/about-opengl-drivers-and-binary-blobs-packages-for-t2013.html With both versions of debian (armbian and the official) ./configure can't find these drivers, all I get is "dummy" for the video driver. With arch linux there were no problems at all, it worked right out of the box. Does someone have a hint for me. This is my last hope. Thanks in advance McCarthy

I am running Armbian_4.5_Cubox-i_Ubuntu_trusty_3.14.54 on a CuBox i4 Pro. I'm trying to upgrade from Armbian 5.32 (Xenial Next/4.4.76) and was hoping to enable 1 wire again on my Udoo. Hi all, I was an early adopter of cubox-i (and cubox before) By that time I was able to install Ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS server and use my cubox-i to host owncloud, resourcespace, phplist, roundcube and other applications. Now I would like to upgrade (using another sd card) to Armbian_5.38_Cubox-i_Ubuntu_xenial_next_4.14.14.7z Everything seems fine, except the fact that I can't import mysql data from mysql Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.5.54, for debian-linux-gnu (armv7l) to mysql version 5.7 (skip one version is not supported) Do you have any suggestions ? So I downloaded Armbian Stretch image here https://www.armbian.com/hummingboard-2/ and dd it onto an SD Card. Hello, I have recently tried a more recent kernel 5.10.x for my HummingBoard with imx6 solo. Hello, I am having a problem using the uart and I guess it is related with this topic. I am trying to make my Hummingboard to communicate via UART with a serial ublox GPS. When I connect the GPS it starts sending gps data normally, but when I have to reboot the hummingboard, it does not boot. I connected a screen to the HDMI interface to see what was happening, and I get the screen message as if a key had been pressed in order to stop booting process, so the boot stops here and the hummingboard does not come up. Hello, for the past few days I've been trying to install k3s on a Jetson Nano machine with the legacy Kernel 4.9, which I managed to recompile with EBPF support, but it seems there are some Kernel EBPF errors. Hello all :-) ! Not sure if I am doing something wrong at all or not. But I've been trying the wheezy image from here. While I can get everything installed ok I've a problem with video acceleration. I've managed to install the packages and have taken note of the changes here to do with installing the packages and kernel for video acceleration. But unless it is something I'm not doing right, performance dosen't exactly seem to be all that great even with acceleration. I noticed that one thing that I could do btw to improve performance just a little was to turn down the colour depth. I did this by doing the following; root@cubox-i:/boot# cat boot.cmd setenv bo…

Hi. I had to force my way through the upgrade script working. I haven't rebooted yet, but I'm crossing my fingers . Here are the three issues: 1. cubox-i shows as "unsupported" and the script dies. /proc/cpuinfo shows: Hardware : Freescale i.MX6 ... ...which isn't in the list in the script. 2. The script crashes and can't handle the situation where the apt-get upgrade prompts you about configuration files. For example, my /etc/bash.bashrc was different than the packaged version. The script won't take input and hangs. I see the "-y" in the script, but for some reason it doesn't seem to work right. 3. /boot/script.bin - a symlink is made to a none…

I am looking for ways / support to run Armbian (no release preference; any version would be good) on the tolino epos 1 eInk display eBook reader (built by taiwanese manufacturer Netronix under model ID 37NB-E70Q2M+4A2). The device currently/by default runs Android 4.4.2. I'm able to flash customized 4.4 images via fastboot and have ADB control (Android Debug Bridge) via USB and Wifi. Hello and first off thank you for the great resource of information and downloads. I am having problems booting up a fresh image on my cubox i 4 pro. The last time i installed an Armbian Image was in 2014 when i got this wonderful little machine and while trying upgrading my own cloud to next cloud i got a bad big block so i thought lets put a fresh image on and now its been 2 days of time outs. The Solidrun logo comes up and then i see that it can't find any images, well i have pictures so there it is. I used etcher to make the sd card. I used the official sd card formatter. Hi. I have a bunch of HummingBoard2 boards that have been used by a company called Vivo. Basically they allow schools to transfer video through Ethernet to monitors and projectors. I also want to do this but Vivi is a subscription based system so that SUX! I therefore want to blow Vivi away and load a clean Armbian. My issue is that the boards have no SD cards soldered to the board. They have power, 2xUSB, RJ45, HDMI connectors. They must therefore boot from eMMC. I found info on the board manufactures website., SolidRun, on how to use jumpers to select boot type. It was set to eMMC so I set it to USB and flashed a SD card with Armbian 20.20 and rebooted…

Its been a while since I built a UDOO image (need another kernel module), when I ran compile.sh, it pulled new source and told me to clone a new build directory. In the process of cloning, however with UDOO being EOS, is it still possible to build the legacy kernel/image with current sources?

Hi all, In the review of the Fire3 at least one person mentions powering this board via something other than the MicroUSB. This would allow me to use the serial console that's supposedly exposed over that port instead of wiring up yet another USB to serial converter. What I can't work out is a) which pin/s are used to power it, and b) what kind of power supply is used. I'd rather not fry the board (it'll do that itself under load) so can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance.

When I used the images with the 5.8.y kernel, I did not experience the same issue. In all cases wired ethernet (eth0) is not effected by the issue. Continuously pinging a local system shows the below result. Other WIFI devices on the same network do not experience …

Hey, which kernel did you use for the provided Hummingboard image (wheezy)? Is it a self-patched linux-linaro or the latest from solidrun (linux-fslc)? My test tells me, that it is the one from solidrun as I'm not able to use PCI on my HB pro. I've recognized it using the current devel of OpenELEC which also uses kernel 3.14.60 from solidrun. An older version of OpenELEC (e.g. 6.0.3) or Armbian (eg. 4.4 using 3.14.53) works quite good. The PCI driver and the dts changed quite a lot between those kernel repositories. Do you have any suggestions how to fix that? My tries all ended in a boot hang (black screen).

Hello good people, I recently started "porting" linux to my Huawei mate 9. Its one of those projects plagued with silly issues and a sad lack of docs and unreliable hearsay. I was hopeful someone may have started something similiar, or maybe commit logs/discussions from when Hikey960 support was added. Ive found commits but praying that maybe more exists. I just have a handful of basic questions, most unfortunately involve things like the android bootloader. Which partitions related to boot can safely be replaced with non signed images, how do i stop fastboot from combining the appended dtb with those in dts partition. Just to give a general sense of what im l…

Hi, I installed Armbian on a Cubox 4x4, I realize this was designed for a different board, but in general it works. But I found there was a problem with the system clock, it kept booting up with the time: Thu 01 Jan 2015 10:07:23 AM CET After some investigations, I found that this board has two hardware clocks: /dev/rtc0: Thu 01 Jan 2015 10:05:17 AM CET -0.616496 seconds /dev/rtc1: Fri 13 Nov 2015 08:23:47 AM CET -0.603090 seconds It looks like rtc1 has a battery and survives reboot, but /dev/rtc0 does not. I tried setting the clock using "ntpdate" on boot, but I found that something kept resetting the time. I found it is /etc/rcS.d/S06hwclock.sh …

I am developing on an imx6 board that is no longer in production. It has a full Yacto-based build system that works, based on an old 3.17?) kernel, but its a pain to develop for. It's not worth spending too much time on refactoring the image, but I'm wondering how big of a job it might be to build an Armbian image for it, given that I already have a working uboot and kernel. The hardware just uses a couple of usbs and uarts, and a pcie wifi card. One wersion also has an hdmi encoder, another has hdmi display. Those might be the hardest to support, but driver support is in the kernel. Thoughts? Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk

Not sure if this should go in this section, but since my problem is about non-supported board, then I guess... I found out about Armbian only recently and decided to give it a try for my T113-S3 based board I bought on Aliexpress. It looks like it's some kind of a MangoPi MQ clone, at least judging by schematics. I managed to create a new configuration for my board, together with required U-Boot patches. I built two images, for "current" and "edge" kernel. For some time I was under impression that Linux doesn't boot at all (serial console output was stuck at "Starting kernel ..."), until I added earlycon=on to armbianEnv.txt. Hey All - So I decided to upgrade my Udoo from 4.5 (Debian Jessia, kernel 3.14.28) to the latest 5.25 Xenial. I gave next (4.4.46) a try, and it seemed to work awesome, however it seems like no one wants 1wire (still - it only takes up 1 gpio!). I built custom kernels enabling 1wire in the kernel and updated (or for default adding) 1wire to be enabiled in the imx6qdl-udoo.dtsi, however after I install the kernels, it just sits indefinitely at the red Armbian logo on boot. On 4.4.46, i was able to just install all the debs via dpkg -i *.deb On 3.14.56, I had to use dpkg --force-all -i *.deb Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? Its been a while, so I'm s…

I've been trying to make work bluetooth in my cubox-i last months but it was not possible. I have mate desktop and I installed blueman-manager but it says 'device needs to be turned on'. I try to do it but nothing happens. I wonder if I am missing any tool or driver to make it work. By other hand I configured the swap partition and I can see the system says now I have 4.1GB as swap but also it says is using 0% any time, it doesn't matter if I have million websites opened or many applications working. So I wonder if that's normal or there is something wrong. Thanks.

Hi Igor, Thanks for your great work with Armbian. I'm currently using your Armbian4.90 for my Hummingboard Edge v2 (dual), as the newest that does not hang on PCIe initialization. Unfortunately, the OV5640 MIPI module is not compiled in this version (it is compiled in all later versions of kernel 3.14.60). Have you kept an archive all the versions of your kernel source? Is there any way to get it so we can add and compile a specific module? Of course, I would prefer if the latest 3.14 kernel could not hang with the PCIe adapter initializing, but this seems to be a pretty difficult issue... I tried the latest one available on the official Armbian site (5.00)…
