I'm at my wit's end here, I've tried all I can think of. I have this Mecool M8S Pro, I've been trying to root it, flash twrp, and install armbian. There is no way to access bootloader, or maybe it's the same as recovery. When I put armbian on an sdcard and made an armbian_first_run.txt file, I first tried using the update app. I picked the aml_autoscript.zip, and confirmed the update, then a message pops up and says "shutting down", then nothing I've left this for a long time and the box never comes back on. Basically, the box won't turn on if there is an sdcard in the slot. I've looked at all the logs available from the recovery screen and after I try this it says someth…

Hi, I've a small amount of linux knowledge... enough to be dangerous but not enough to understand fully what's going on. I'm learning slowly but have reached a frustrating failure with my A95x revision 2 set top box. 5. Good evening! I've bought the R69 1GB TV-Box on eBay some days ago with the plan in mind to run Armbian there. Sadly the box even dont want to start the kernel, it's stuck in U-Boot Loader when a SD is inserted: U-Boot SPL 2018.05-armbian (Jul 31 2018 - 05:08:39 +0200) DRAM: 1024 MiB Trying to boot from MMC1 And then nothing happens. I've tried couple of images. Beelink Image with Mainline and legacy Kernel, RetroOrangePi Images and so on - for now I haven't found a working one. In some other Thread someone mentioned that there are different versions of this device, and i found some Thread where someone also has trouble w…

A quick search about the possibility to install linux on those tvboxes lead me to the very first approach on theme: https://respeaker.io/rk3229_core Well, I thought If already someone did it , I can do it too; that was the beginning of one of worst nightmares of my life Those boards are totally different even when they look similar: some have nand storage, some have emmc, some have …

A the beginning my idea was to use AMLogic box to use Octoprint and 3d party software called Klipper for my DIY 3d prinetr. Quick search in google shows that it is doable but there are old topics, posts and old images for s905 processors. At first I had started with newer images from @balbes150 like Armbian_5.98_Aml-g12_Ubuntu_bionic_default_5.3.0_desktop_20191002.img and tried to start WIFI. I have been trying to boot various images for a while. Recently I have tried the latest Armbian and Libreelec Images but without success. I have tried both usb and sd card. Today I managed to get my serial UART connected to the box to see where things are stopping. I have attached a log from the serial console. I have tried just about every single dtb I can find and I have removed the dtb for it to load from emmc, it still fails at the same step. I have waited over 15 mins and still nothing. There is reference to single dtb file there sun50i-h6-tanix-tx6.dtb for all these models. Will this dtb file work with all the models with the Single Armbian Image for RK+AML+AW (aarch64 ARMv8)? 21. Hey I'm pretty new to this community. I have Mini M8S II which is running libreelec just fine with the stock dtb. I want to turn it into a small server with armbian but it always fails to boot. The box apparently has S905X which should "translate" into this dtb gxl_p212_2g_kvim.dtb. Libreelec refuses to boot with it but when I used older built of Coreelec it booted with gxbb_p200_1G_1Gbit.dtb which should be S905 not S905X. Armbian and libreelec refuses to boot with that dtb. I've tried most of the included dtb even putting them to main directory and renaming them as dtb.img (Yes I've read that I'm supposed to change the location in config file) At this point I think …

I recently got some new SD cards. When try using them, I found a strange behavior of these SD cards. They allow you to create ONLY one partition on it. When you try to burn the image, the image is written correctly, no error messages. With this SD card, you can activate the multi-boot. But when I try to start the system or to verify the data in the second partition on the SD card, I discover that the partition is created but data is not available (section is blank, no file system). If a single partition (the whole size of the SD card), the data be read and written to the entire size of the SD card. So for all who have problems running from an SD card or Armbian Librelec, …

  43. Hello First of all, amazing project overall, it's incredible to see what we can do already. I have Armbian running on a Sunvell T95Z Plus (3gb RAM, 32GB storage) and it's working fine overall, there just seem to be a few things that could be better and I would need to help to progress : - The video driver doesn't seem to be optimized, playing a video, kodi or youtube shows a lot of tearing. Steps I have tried: factory reset and load image factory reset and copy dtb files from 3.14 image and load image copy the autorun zip files and load image. i do not get any action on the 4.9 images or the 4.18 images but i can reload the 3.14 images is there any other method to try?

Hi I’m thinking of buying a more powerful TV box, and I see that everyone recommends Rockchip. However, when I look at performance, I notice that the S905X3 has much more power than an RK3566 and is also cheaper. There are comments that development for Amlogic is stalled, but new versions continue to be released from what I can see. I only want it for setting up a Pi-hole and some Dockerized applications. Am I making a mistake if I go for an S905X3? Currently, I have an S905X, and although it was a bit challenging, it’s working quite well

Hi there, As some of you (i guess) i want to update and upgrade to last debian and kernel version to test if it is better for my tv boxes (S905W, S912, S905X2) but before that i want to backup and possibly restore all the better way. Do someone have a hint for that ? Thanks I personnaly use portainer to manage docker images but never try it yet for disaster recovery or restoring data.
