Download Armbian with HA (v25.2) Then boot the image, wait few minutes and login via http://ip_address_of_armbian_running_ha:8123 (official onboarding manual) Home Assistant Supervised is, more or less, a full blown Home assistant. Install Home Assistant on any Armbian Bookworm (experimental) Main difference between HA OS and Armbian with HA is that underlying OS here is clean Armbian Debian Bookworm and there is custom dedicated buildroot OS that is provided for a few single board computers, primarily for Raspberry Pi. We provide HA on a small selection of single board computers, but in theory, its possible to run this on (a…

Hi all. I'm working on a script that can install different Linux gaming tools like Box86, Box64, PPSSPP, ... For now it can only install box86 and box64. There is also an issue installing wine, so this doesn't work either. https://github.com/NicoD-SBC/armbian-gaming Download and unzip and run script : sudo /bin/bash ./armbian-gaming.sh When ready I'll make a video about it and give more info. I've tested it on the PineBookPro with Hirsute. With the Odroid N2+ you need to activate panfrost, install dependecies for N2+, and then install box86. Tho it didn't work as it should. If "install box86" gives a build error, t…

Has anyone here experienced the same problem on trying to install "Armbian Imager" under Windows 11? Upon running the respective exe-file and - no matter what target directory I choose - I get a failure meassage, somewhat like this: The directory could not be established: Microsoft Edge has no Read/Write access rights to its directory: C:\Users\admin\AppData\Local\com.armbian.imager\EBWebView Should the same issue have been posted here somewhere else, I do apologize. However, before creating the help request I did try to find any entries of similar content, but in vain. So if there's already any remedial comment on this available in the Arm…

Cross-posting this because it took a while to untangle, and most guides out there are either vendor-BSP/rkmpp (the wrong stack for mainline) or they stop at "it says hardware accelerated" without checking whether it actually is. Tested on an Orange Pi 5B, mainline Debian 13 (trixie), kernel 7.1.3+deb13-arm64, panthor + PanVK, Wayfire. Should apply to any RK3588/RK3588S board on a mainline stateless-decode kernel (Rock 5B, OPi 5, etc.). Corrections welcome; I'd rather this be right than mine. First, the thing that trips everyone up: on mainline, rkmpp is not your path. Rockchip's MPP library (the thing that hardware-decodes at ~9% CPU on the vendor…

Hi everyone, I'm working on a bunch of arm boards, where I installed armbian on the eMMC I'm trying to re-flash some of them, via SD and then via nand-sata-install, but something is wrong A fresh SD works, as in: boot from SD run nand-sata-install select eMMC run and wait But as soon as I try to do it a second time, on a second board, it breaks, meaning that nand-sata-install doesn't show any storage device, while /dev/mmc* it's recognized from linux (image 1) INFO: Armbian monitor log $ uname -a Linux rockpi-s 6.0.10-rockchip64 #22.11.1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Nov 30 11:20:25 UTC 2022 aarch64 GNU/Linux

Was using a 5.15.x version of Arabian on an orange pi 4, and upgraded to latest 6.7.x image seems to have broken low level usb (specifically USB to ACM devices). Used the following command to reset an STM32 device over USB (stm32 is connected directly to USB and shows up as a ttyACM0 device in linux) python -c 'import termios; termios.tcsendbreak(3, 0)' 3>/dev/ttyACM0 this worked great but now no longer does. Any ideas? Anyway we can test if its an updated driver issue by reverting to older usb driver or possible a kernel issue? Seems to be a Armbian specific issue, since ubuntu on amd64 system with 6.x kernel works fine …

Hello, this is weird. With armbian 23.8.1 I can access the gpio-pins of the raspberry 4b. With (current) armbian 24.2.1 neither wiringpi (gpio -v) works nor any direct access (like echo "4" > /sys/class/gpio/export) The only difference I can find is the version of armbian. Please give me a hint on how to get gpio-access working with the current armbian. THX Edit: with raspbian it works (echo "4" > /sys/class/gpio/export and cat /sys/class/gpio/gpio4/value), so apparently I used the correct method.

I got an Orange Pi Zero 3 (1.5GB) to run Adguard Home. I tried the latest Armbian image (25.5.1), first with DE, then without... same problem. I run the config wizard and install AdGuard Home through it, set it up via the browser (192.168.0.6:3000), then reboot to make sure the service loads properly on boot... which it doesn't. Well, the service SEEMS to be running, according to the monitor, but I can no longer access AdGuard via the browser (and yes, I reserved 192.168.0.6 for the Orange Pi in the router).

I fixed in the past some problems with sata drive by setting to "rolling" the sources in armbian-config. A few day ago I wanted to upgrade to trixie (debian 13) sources. I forgot to set up again the armbian-config sources to "stable" and I went in a bad situation with my raid1 : it completely disappeared from /etc/mdadm/mdadm.conf, and was unable to mount. After several struggling with the command line tools, I managed to get it recreated by the following command : mdadm --create --force /dev/md0 \ --level=1 \ --raid-devices=2 \ /dev/sdc1 /dev/sdd1 \ --metadata=1.2 --data-offset=$(( 264192/2 ))K Now it seems to be syncing, but I think the fi…

I'm sure the the developers intentions are good but i'm a big boy now and don't need or want someone else restricting how my passwords must be formed. One of the things that draws me to linux is the concept of freedom. Please tell me how to get around this limitation of Armbian/cinnamon on my Raspberry Pi4b. I use LMDE 5.0/cinnamon on my Intel & AMD computers and don't have this problem. I don't say his in anger. I recently used Linphone for an audio call from my laptop to my desktop and it works for audio calls in command line mode With video calls, it is promising, but it complains with MSvp8 media errors (most likely can't use decoding libraries) I really want to use them in my armbian SBC since it is so lightweight (and my ili9341 LCD would look nice with a video call ) Does anyone here have experience with Linphone and BareSIP (another SIP video client, even more lightweight). The only discussion I see about it is in the Linphone google group and the german forum for "DoorPi"... but I can't see a guide to install and use it.

Does anyone know how a do-release-upgrade affect an Armbian 24.8.3 installation? Had anyone upgraded to the 24.04.1 LTS release of Ubuntu? Any gotyas when upgrading? Things to do and things to avoid? What changes to allow and which to deny? I've done a release upgrade once, it took a long time and questions were asked and options presented suring the release upgrade process. Obviously I'll take an image of the MicroSD card before I even dream of attempting to use the do-release-upgrade.

Hi all, I've been using Armbian on two Cubietrucks for a decade and had to install the latest version (CLI Armbian 23.8 Bookworm Kernel of Aug 31, 2023) to one of them. Therefore: Is there any other way to reliably cause HDD spindown after a certain time (say 20 min) even if there's no battery-power mode but 24/7 AC power? Thanks in advance for any help. Giunti

I'm using an Orange Pi Zero 3, which I believe is experimental but I don't see any evidence that the packages of interest are specific to this board. It looks like Armbian provides a new version of libgl1-mesa-dri that relies on a newer version of libdrm-amdgpu1 than what is available in the default debian bookworm repo: ben@orangepizero3:~$ sudo apt-get install libgl1-mesa-dev Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree... Done Reading state information... Done Some packages could not be installed. This…

Armbian Imager Update ends up treating onboard microSD card as system drive. Is it possible to make onboard sd card program as a system drive by changing the setting to allow system drives. However it still exposes newbie to possible risk of ending up the SSD. Please keep SD card slot as an exception to be treated as system drive.

I have Armbian on OrangePi One. It is connected to the TV via HDMI, and has a USB card with headphones connected. I installed LXDE on it via tasksel and found that only one audio device in the mixer is visible in software at a time: either hdmi if the USB card is disabled, or headphones otherwise. Is it possible to teach a microcomputer, like a desktop computer, to see multiple audio devices at the same time?

Using Armbian Bookworm Armbian_23.11.1_Bananapi_bookworm_current_6.1.63 for banana Pi m1. Hello, I'm using Armbian (22.08.0) for risc-v on a Mango-pi. I read in the documentation it is possible to install git with the command of this post-title, but instead, it opens the config menu (see screenshot). I've looked at the option to install git inside this menu (inside the software menu I saw other options except git), but have not found it. How can I do this? Any pointers are appreciated. Thanks.

Hi all, I just installed Armbian with OpenMediaVault on a Odroid HC4 (v25.8.2 for Odroid HC4 running Armbian Linux 6.12.48-current-meson64), when I tried to disable automatic updates in armbian-config it purged a lot of packages including openmediavault. Guess this is a bug, in case where should I report it?

I don't quite know where to post this. I hope I am in the right place. When migrating a system from an armbian_23.02.2_Orangepi4-lts_jammy_current_5.15.93_xfce_desktop image to a SSD, armbian-install creates a broken line in /etc/fstab. The third line is missing the introductory "UUID=". The line then looks like this: xxxxxxxx-yyy-yyy-yyy-xxxxxx /media/mmcboot ext4 defaults,noatime,commit=600 ....etc. As a result, /media/mmcboot is not mounted, of course, and the boot process aborts with a cli root-login. Completing the line allows the system to boot normally. UUID=xxxxxxxx-yyy-yyy-yyy-xxxxxx /media/mmcboot ext4 defaults,noatime,commit=600 ....etc. …

I'm currently trying to set up an Orange Pi PC, Armbian 23.8 Bookworm. After the first boot via ssh and performing `sudo apt-get update`, I see that the Armbian project seemingly using the official Debian mirrors to update the Debian itself, as well as Yandex mirrors to update the Armbian-specific software ( http://mirror.yandex.ru/mirrors/armbian/apt ). The device connects to the official Debian mirrors without any issue, but can't connect to the Yandex mirrors, since most Ukrainian ISPs enforce censorship by banning major Russian websites, which includes the yandex.ru domain. This leads to this warning after performing `sudo apt-get update`: ``` …

Installation of autheila package ("apt install authelia") does does end with error due to /var/log/journal beeing a symlink to /var/log.hdd/journal. Once the symlink is removed and the directory is created instead, the installation can be completed successfully. The symlink can be recreated afterwards and authelia wil steill run normally - until the next package update.

Hi! I have a problem with the Banana Pi M2 Zero. I am trying to use its one wire interface, but with no success. I have enabled the w1-gpio module in the armbian-config menu, but I still cannot get it to work. I tried using the neopixels library, within python for the control of the leds. The GPIO as I saw that should work on is GPIO 4, Board pin 7. The neopixel library says that the board is not supported, however it lists the M2 Zero as a possible board interface. I also added to armbianEnv.txt the param_w1_pin=PA6, which is supposed to deliver PWM1 signal as well. Can anyone help me, to get it to work? Thank you in advance!

The default /. bashrc over rides any title or name setting set on the command line for all xterm and urxvt terms. This is very ugly and irresponsible behavior. I'm not sure where the source is kept but those lines of code need to be removed. Setting the prompt is one thing, smashing the title and name is something else.

Hi there, I am trying to blacklist a module by adding 'blacklist rtl2832_sdr' to /etc/modprobe.d/rtl2832_sdr.conf I follow this by issuing 'update-initramfs -u' and rebooting. This is a standard way of doing things on Linux, yet somehow all of the modules continue to show up. System is up to date, running on Orange Pi Zero 3, if that matters. I expect this is a bug of some sort, since I saw it mentioned elsewhere here in the forums that this is the way to go, too?

Good morning. I have installed Armbian Bullseye (first file in this webpage: https://armbian.site-meganet.com/dl/rockpi-4b/archive/) on a Radxa ROCK Pi 4 SE. After that I ran armbian-config and navigated to the Default section to install Cinnamon Desktop. Apparently the installation completes successfully and then coes back to the CLI. Now I am trying to start the desktop environment and I am unable to. I have tried rebooting but it just goes to the CLI. Do I need to run a command like 'startx'? (startx is not working) Thank you.
