In both Buster and Focal 20.11.1 on helios64 commands directed to a disk increment fields in /proc/diskstats This is incorrect and does not occur in the x86 version of xubuntu Focal. Specifically (see https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/iostats.txt for field descriptions.): Check Power Mode increments "number of reads completed" Smart Return Status, Smart Read Data, and Smart Read Log increment "number of reads completed" and "number of sectors read" The smartd disk monitor uses these commands which makes the disk appear to be active to programs like hd-idle. I hope this is the correct place to report this bug. …

I'm using Rock64 image with my V88 Piano RK3328 box and when trying to build ZFS (SPL), it gives me an error. It's probably due to the maching kernel headers for running kernel is missing. When i run apt-get install kernel-headers-generic it installs 4.4.116 headers and not 4.4.77 kernel i'm running. How can i get the correct kernel headers? Thanks.

Hi, I'm using Armbian Bookworm for my Orangepi 4 LTS (RK3399). In the setting section (Armbian-config), I did enable SPI, however after rebooting, there is no spidev in the /dev/ directory. I hope you can help me. Also I need usart2B, I know its pins are available in this board but I don't see any related configuration or options.

Trying to understand this issue. If I ONLY need the 1Gbs (LAN1) ethernet connection and DO NOT need the 2.5Gbs (LAN2) connection, do I need to perform the "Fix" for this issue? I'll be using Armbian Buster for this device.

I have a new nanopi m4v2 and I downloaded the latest focal version today Armbian_20.08.1_Nanopim4v2_focal_current_5.8.6_desktop.img.xz Boots with uboot successfully, but after showing the message "Starting kernel ...", serial is blank. Green SYS LED glows couple of times and then both LEDs are off. I assume the system has powered off as there are no more signs of being up. I am using the usbttl from friendly elec and a samsung EVO 32G microsd. I am attaching the last uboot logs until "start kernel ..." msg Any clue as to why the board is not booting? m4v2_uboot_log.txt

First thing I want to give a GREAT THANK YOU to the people at kobol shop support, as they have helped me with my transport/forwarded/ carrier nightmare loop: the address is in Chinese-no address specified-contact the sender-won’t give you your parcel-please call again- no address specified.... Hi! I have an rk3588 board that has a dma330 controller. I have this driver that essentially polls a dmac channel and it memory maps the data that is received into user space. Now, this driver was developed with the idea to receive data from a peripheral, however, before that I just want to test it by doing some memory to memory transactions. Greetings, I can't seem to find any documentation on how to access the only PWM port on the Nano M4 which happens to reside on the 2nd set of pins. It's listed as GPIO2 and the PWM pin is pin 23 which they label as GPIO_C6/PWM1(3V). SInce any documentation I find on GPIO has to do with the 40 pin port, how can I program the PWM using wiringPI-Python? I wonder why Nano chose to disregard the other PWM pins that other Raspberry Pi type boards retained like the Asus Tinkerboard. Or am I missing something? If so, can someone enlighten me as to how to access PWM on the Nano M4. Preferably using Python 3.

Is there a specific reason why orangepi cm5 isn't supported? Or is it simply because nobody has contributed? Because I am willing to add support for it if there aren't any serious issues when building armbian for this board. The webpage for the board is currently empty. I see two issues when using Armbian on orangepi cm5: 1. The ethernet and the fan won't work. There is a device tree published by Laurent Pinchart that may fix this. 2. armbian-install bricks the board. I am now working on Bionic Desktop for Orange Pi rk3399. I want to do something similar to what have been done on Raspberry. i.e to use hdmi ddc as i2c (i2c over hmdi) http://blog.koalo.de/2013/11/i2c-over-hdmi.html I could run i2cdump, ic2get and i2cwrite without any problem but I can't find the i2c device for hdmi ddc of my OrangePi rk3399. My wild guess is that I need to enable hdmi ddc by modifying the uboot folder. However, I don't know how to start with. Can anyone give me some pointers? Thanks in advance Eli

Edit I found if you pass EXPERT=yes as a parameter to the install script the board is listed - I'm building it now and will post back the result End edit

I have managed to install mainline u-boot on my 5B. i copied the 5It boots from both MMC and the SD. To boot from the sd, you have to interrupt the boot process and tell it to boot from MMC0. the default boot order is: mmc1 mmc0 nvme scsi usb pxe dhcp spi I've tried a number of things to correct the issue but none worked. In the aliases section of rk3588s-orangepi-5b.dts, I had to device sdchi as MMC0 (it really is MMC1). Not it boots like it should. Is there a better way to get u-boot to boot from SD card first? Thanks!

I'm putting together a build for a 3D printer, rk3308b-s board that has no ethernet, just a Fn-link wifi chip that is a knock-off of an rtl8192fs. I pulled the OEM dts and it describes the chip as an rtl8192cs. I'm pretty sure this is an out of kernel driver and my searches indicate I put source in userpatches. What do I need to add in the board/*.csc file to build to an image with the kernel module(s)? I do have a ralink ra2400, a mt7201 and some supported realtek dongles and If connected, I could git the code build and moprobe the module to test. I ended up accidentally destroying the 402 caps on one of the SATA ports by scrapping the board against the standoffs as I was pulling it out of the case. As far as I can tell, they should be part of the SATA standard, 10nF DC blocking caps, so I have a rough idea of what they might have been but I don't know for sure since they are simply gone. I install armbian on the sd card, then insert it into firefly ROC-RK3328-CC. At the start, it flashes quickly 2 times, makes a small pause and flashes quickly 2 more times. Before that, it worked correctly, but I decided to reinstall the system and got this problem. I tried to install the system from firefly, as a result, only debian 9 worked, but it also worked with problems (at the first launch it reached the desktop, after rebooting and connecting the keyboard and mouse, it did not go beyond tty).

  96. First of all, apologies if this has been asked before, I did search the forums and couldn't find anything related... My NanoPi M4V2 has an NVME still running Debian Buster and I have been delaying upgrading/flashing as I expect this to be not that trivial... My understanding is that the recommended upgrade path is to reflash the SD-card and start over, which is fine with me. However, I do want to ensure it will then again boot from the NVME drive as it currently does! My question is if I can do that directly (flash SD, boot from it, and change boot to NVME) and I will have all the previous data on the NVME *OR* …

  98. Hey there! I’ve been running Home Assistant Supervised on Armbian for a while, but lately I keep seeing a repeat issue after system upgrades (Docker or kernel updates). After upgrading, some HA containers stop unexpectedly, for example: odroid-c2-homeassistant:2025.12.2 exits with code 137 aarch64-addon-configurator:5.8.0 exits with code 143 My current setup runs on Helios64/RK3399 · kernel 6.12.58-current-rockchip64 · Docker CE 29.1.3 (f52814d). After digging a bit, I noticed this line in dmesg right after the failures -> apparmor="DENIED" operation="signal" profile="hassio-supervisor" signal=kill I also fou…

  99. Started by tjc,

My Helios64 has been running without issue for quite a while -- at least a month. Now -- no power. Last logs on the SD card looked to be early in the morning yesterday. D9 is solid amber with battery, flashing without. No other LEDs on the board are illuminated. I've removed from the case and disconnected the previously attached drives just in case. On initial power the fans spin briefly and then ... nothing further. I've tapped and held various combinations of power and reset, etc -- no change. Can confirm with a voltmeter the original supply is making +12v. Can confirm a separate known working ATX supply on J10 has a constant +12V and …

Hello, My NAS becomes unresponsive every time I run a somewhat CPU-intensive task: indexing photos in photoprism, importing followings in Mastodon… or just browsing Mastodon. Is it expected of the Rockchip RK3399 or can I improve the situation with the right CPUfreq config ? For context, here is my CPUfreq config and kernel (I have yet to update): axel@helios64:~$ cat /etc/default/cpufrequtils ENABLE="true" GOVERNOR=performance MAX_SPEED=1200000 MIN_SPEED=1200000 axel@helios64:~$ uname -a Linux helios64 5.10.21-rockchip64 #21.02.3 SMP PREEMPT Mon Mar 8 01:05:08 UTC 2021 aarch64 GNU/Linux Thanks!
