Right - we're all pretty sick of systemd controversy, and no intent to rehash that all here again with mostly marketed fanboy-ism on either side. Without trying to be a geezer that want's to go back to the old days, I think that at least offering an interesting choice for Armbian using Devuan and the classic style of init might be worthwhile. An interesting perspective might be seen from our BSD brethren, who of course don't take to systemd lightly, yet still see things interesting they may want to incorporate: Benno Rice provides an interesting talk about it. Hey, let's not start yet another fanboy war abou…

USB-C not working on NanoPC T4 with buster server 5.8y. USB-C port just delivers power but no communication at all. On debian stretch USB-C is working (tested aigain, HW is OK). Can someone provide a list with what kernel/image is what not working. I like to use the device for OMV. I guess someone has a list of known/reported issues? I don't like to test image by image to slowly identify surprise by surprise for each image/kernel. I like to use the device for OMV including dockers.

From Armbian 20.08 onwards, I observed that htop loses its settings (e.g. show userland threads, process sort order) every boot. This is equally odd and frustrating, and until recently I had no idea what was happening to make this so. Then I discovered the cause - this script: /etc/NetworkManager/dispatcher.d/80-update-htop-and-offload-tx And indeed, on every reboot, it overwrites htoprc with some default settings. And I have tried but not succeeded to understand the intention was behind a decision to not allow users on SBCs to persistently change .htoprc any more. Can anyone add any context? Struggling to see how this makes…

Could you please add support for NanoPi R2C Plus (https://wiki.friendlyelec.com/wiki/index.php/NanoPi_R2C_Plus#Install_OS). I tried the R2S image and it failed to boot; I believe due to network hardware being different on this board (using YT8521S)

Hello, I would like to request that support for the PecanPi DAC (www.orchardaudio.com/pecanpi-dac) be added to Armbian. Asus recently added support as of Scetch version 2.1.11. To enable the DAC the following line is needed int the hw_intf.conf file: intf:dtoverlay=rpi-dac Thank you; Leo

Hi everyone, I am trying to get TVHeadEnd working on my Helios4 NAS, which is currently running Debian Stretch with Armbian Linux 4.19.63-mvebu. The software has installed, and I can access the web GUI on port 9981. However, I cannot see my tuner device under TV adapters. If I type dmesg into the command line, I can see the RTL2838UHIDIR device connected to USB. However there is nothing listed under /dev/dvb. I'm wondering if Armbian might be missing some of the drivers that are included with full Debian. I would appreciate any help in getting my USB TV tuner working with Armbian. Thanks.

New patches for mainline u-boot have been posted, so that espressobin should finally work now. That gives us a recent version of u-boot, compared to that old and unmaintained marvell fork. I opened a PR for OpenWRT to ship mainline u-boot/atf builds. Those also include distro boot: openwrt/openwrt#3360 And now we need testers openwrt/openwrt#3360 (comment) While this is a PR for OpenWRT, I boot vanilla debian with it. In the end the distro shouldn't matter Note: * All builds are currently CPU_800_DDR_800 only for stability reasons * There is no build for v5 with 2GiB RAM, does anyone have such a board? bu…

Hi, I cannot exactly say why, but I never liked the 'emptyness' of the IP-Address on the SSH welcome message System load: 0.82 0.29 0.10 Up time: 1 min Memory usage: 3 % of 3867MB IP: 192.168.11.7 So I thought it needs a lot of space for a long Up time. So, the space is reasonable. Looking at the other information provided, which needs as well many letters? My suggestion to move it like this and adding: -Address (IP is not the complete term (Internet-Protocol): IP-Address: 192.168.11.7 Up time: 1 min Memory usage: 3 % of 3867MB System load: 0.82 0.29 0.10 adding 'Address' might fix …

Please add support for the FireFly ITX-3588J. Note that the Armbian Station M3 latest UEFI image boots unmodified on an SD card on this hardware, with working picture on one of the HDMI ports. (But no USB) So the partition structure is ok. 20230428-EDK2-EFI-current/Armbian_23.04_Station-m3_sid_current_6.2.0.img.xz So it is already close to a usable image once the relevant device tree bits are swapped out. I am not 100% sure the details yet of the uboot they ship, or even how to just install the uboot part to emmc but when I flashed the complete Debian 11 "firmware" they provide on the website link to the EMMC (using the linux command line loader…

Dear All, I found armbian by chance and it's the best supporting linux solution for my orangepizero3 - will later start tinkering with orangepizero2w and orangepi5plus I'd love, along with Debian and Ubuntu, to have Kali selectable as distribution option - linux kernel, dtb, headers, u-boot, overlays and armbian-config would be the perfect base for it (and every other distribution imho) Being inspired by GoVanguard/karmbian, which is based on armbian's previous framework, I tried grossly "injecting" kali support into armbian branch v24.02 - but I'm lost; definitely no developer, just playing around specifically I'm stuck with "lib/functions/gene…

On my odroid hc2 with armbian/bullseye I found some of the logs (both in /var/log and /var/log.hdd) empty, while they should have some contens (i.e. afpd.log, kern.log, user.log, ...). The empty files all have the timestamp of a run of armbian-ramlog at a recent reboot. In armbian-ramlog.log I found this for the run that created the empty files: rsync: [receiver] write failed on "/var/log/journal/0d4b1c13b9a14b6d9c746402b7d7ef6f/user-1000@0005d37f46f9961b-23c015a66b68d086.journal~": No space left on device (28) rsync error: error in file IO (code 11) at receiver.c(378) [receiver=3.2.3] rsync: [sender] write error: Broken pipe (32) Seems tha…

Hello all, I just wanted to ask is there any consideration to support Radxa Rock (Standard/Pro) in any form. It is/was a Rk3188 based board with 2GB RAM and 8GB of flash. I'm using it as a VPN server with Debian 8 and it proved very reliable in all departments over the years. It was quite powerful for its time and I think it could prove to be very useful since it can be left to run without any active cooling or anything. I'm putting it here for consideration since I guess supporting RK3188 won't create any substantial workload, and it can do a lot even for today's standards. I have two of the devices and can use one of them for testing if required.…

Hello, i am new here, an experienced back-end developer from Hungary, and my hobby is mostly doing some IOT stuff in my free-time. I'm big fun of the Armbian project a long time and checking its progress time to time cos its seems perfect for IOT usage and the NanoPi R3S was specially chosen by me for my ongoing project because of the Platinum support of the product as it seemed to be perfect fit with good enough video support to make IOT server with remote app for admin functions. Sadly as it seems the hardware acceleration is not supported i guess because there is no HDMI port on the product but with Panfrost + VirtualGL it could be a capable rem…

The BananaPi CM4 doesn't play well with a number of third party base boards in that often, USB does not work on them. Usually, that is because the third party base board designer connected the USB hub IC to an SOC OTG port without connecting a line to switch the OTG port into host mode. The problem was demonstrated at least with the Waveshare CM4 Base Board B and the MCUZone POE baseboard. In the Banana Pi forums, Sinovoip engineer "August" posted a DTBO for Ubuntu 20.04 which solves the issue by forcing host mode. Below is the DTBO decompiled to DTS. I would like to request that this overlay be updated for the Armbian kernel and included as an optional overlay into …

Hi, I have found a RaspAP-webgui very useful if for example the device is deployed to an end user. Mostly is needed to set etherenet address DHCP or static. Rpi can work as access point and wireless client at the same time. This can be used for example to connect to the internet and sync RTC clock, or remote access through VPN - if for example one uses his phone to establish a hotspot. Now , I believe that armbian-config is also a powerful tool for configuration, but not helpful for end user who can be a noob. A web based GUI that could be used to configure network resources only would be appreciated. Just network, not all the delicate stuff as …

I bought a TP-Link AC1300 "High Gain" WiFi adapter, in order to try to get a connection between my house and my garage. I thought that the included rtl8812 driver was the right one, but it turns out the AC1300 is the "V3" version of the Archer T4U, and it requires the rtl8822 driver. Well, it turns out that the driver at https://github.com/jeremyb31/rtl8822bu works straight up. I followed tkaiser's directions here: ...but changed "8812au" to "8822bu". Commands executed cleanly. I blacklisted 88XXau and rebooted, and everything worked great. And, I got the signal I needed, so it was worth the effort. Anyway, I just thought i…

The "create access point" utility in `armbian-config` has several bugs that prevent it from working, due to changes in the default installation since it was written: - hostapd does not install a default configuration file at `/etc/hostapd.conf` - hostapd is installed masked by default - dnsmasq fails to start because systemd-resolvd launches first as the default DNS resolver I can write patches to fix this utility, but I'm wondering if it will ultimately be worth it. I noticed this access point utility doesn't exist in the `armbian-configng` repository. Is that because Armbian is dropping this utility, or no one has gotten around to it yet? …

Currently lowest download speed limit is hardcoded to 500k (build/lib/functions/general/downloads.sh, line 79) --lowest-speed-limit=500K As I build my first image, I hit a lot of times this limit 🙈 Wouldn't be nice if this limit was configurable? I'm willing to try to implement it myself. Should I create an issue on Jira or GitHub or is the forum the right place to discuss it? Where would be the right place to add this parameter? userpatches/config-default.conf?

If you curl -I http://apt.armbian.com over and over again, you will receive a 302 redirect to what seems to be a random mirror. I am wondering how I can help add some sophistication to that randomness. As someone downloading updates from the US, it's a big exercise of patience to download at a rate of 20-60 KBps. As each package request goes to the redirector every time (since it's not a 301 redirect), some packages download at a good rate but plenty are very slow for me. In contrast, when I download an Armbian image from bittorrent, I can get 9MBps. I know that everything here is provided for free and I am grateful! I am asking how I can help make this…

Hi here, as a hobby project I forked Armbian repo to add support of someone "new" hardware, mostly around 3D printing and mostly because no support from the vendor side. At this moment I have following almost independent components: a kernel module for ST7796 (LCD controller connected via SPI and working as frame buffer module/device) a patch for HDMI configuration to support MKS IPS50 screen (800x480, 5:3 aspect ration with some weird EDID) configuration with related patches for MKSPI, SKIPR and a few derivatives boards + some DTS overlay for one related/specific use case. It's a "Renegade ROC-RK3328-CC" based board(s) which wa…

It's been several years since I started looking for a forum to discuss various general aspects of SBCs, such as "recommend me the board for X", SoC software support state, pricing, deals, etc. All not armbian-related per se. Neither of current categories are exactly suitable for such questions on this forum. Off-topic category doesn't receive much attention as I would guess. Proposal: create "general discussions" category.

I know this topic was requested many many times. but I would like to introduce more reasons about why to do so. Igor, I don't like RPI, and many of you also don't like it. but I am thinking on Armbian rather than RPI 1) supporting RPI would be a plus for people that use sd with RPI4. armbian works flawlessly on sr cards. 2) armbian need recognition and founding and supporting a mainstream SBC like RPI could bring that! 3) armbian is the best OS for ARM Linux. 4) something similar to the reason 2

Hi Folks! I think this would be great for testing Anbox easily on armbian. We are linux users (and we hate android), but in order to get ARM Linux attractive as desktop we may have to offer anbox. the kernel modules have problems on latest kernels so would be great to have them included already. maybe that makes the kernel "too big" and isn't acceptable, but that's up to you to consider it or not. best regards, Salvador.

As WiringPi was never meant to support other boards nor does the author like to support other boards and it is officially depreciated now (http://wiringpi.com/wiringpi-deprecated/). I want to ask why not put some efforts into libmraa https://github.com/intel-iot-devkit/mraa and put it into the Armbian repository. I have already a fork which fixes Rock Pi 4 on recent mainline 5.3 kernels with updated debian build scripts here: https://github.com/bootsy52/mraa, so debian packages could be simple built using dpgk-buildpackage. Why I think it is a good idea to supply libmraa with the Armbian repository Supporting multiple boards is a…

Hello, The video from the "BalCCon2K17 conference presentation", seen here, is getting kind of old now. I really enjoyed it (thanks @Igor) , however, could a newer video please be made, and posted there instead (or in addition to the old one, maybe above it)? I'd like to hear how Armbian has progressed in the last 2 years, since that last video was made. Perhaps questions like the following could be addressed? What are the best, fastest new boards since that time, which have earned a status of "Supported"? For example, which boards have very stable SATA, M.2/NVMe ports/slots which are great for potentially making a NAS o…

The penguin on the desktop background is nice, but maybe a bit too generic. How about a female cartoon Panda, or something like that? AES has some major weaknesses, keys are breakable through timing attacks (dependent on implementation) due to it's design flaws http://citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/download?doi=10.1.1.140.2835&rep=rep1&type=pdf I'm not sure if hardware accelerated AES-NI is vulnerable to timing attacks. But the bottom line is that AES is very complicated and easy to screw up in the implementation such that it's vulnerable to various attacks. ChaCha20 on the other hand (XChaCha20 in newer kernels) is simple to implement, (much faster than AES when implemented purely in software) and easy to reason about. The most secure cipher available seems to be DJB's XChaCha20. XCh…

While I know a lot of boards don't have support for PCIe the RockPro64 does. I'm using it to drive a 10gb NIC (even though it's limited by the number of available lanes to around 8Gb/s). Armbian doesn't provide any native support for 10Gb cards so I've been having to build kernels with support for the Intel and Myricom cards. Is there any possibility of including support (either as modules or built in) in the future? Thanks for the consideration, Chris

Was wondering if there is a utility similar to the Khadas Krescue boot utility that allows one to backup/install emcc images?? I found it very useful to backup my Khadas images as well as installing different os. The description is as follows: 'Krescue is an extremely small (21mb) operating system that you can boot directly from a micro-SD card or your EMMC. It is a “Swiss Army knife”, and you can use it to perform a variety of low-level SBC maintenance tasks. Most notable of which are backing-up your EMMC by dumping a raw-compressed .img.gz, and rapidly installing a new OS via flashing a .img.gz back into the EMMC. Krescue can download and install OS i…

Writing code for armbian is currently pain and suffering, because the code quality is horrible and it always makes me do changes alike https://github.com/Kreyren/armbian-build-kreyren/compare/6cd581c96c0b7b800b6549afe23112d4a662d2a0..811288169004dccacab964129ecaf8cfe891b22d that waste time just to get the contribution to work reliably, thus proposing to take an inspiration for how other projects such as nixos handle this issue and implement a RFC: https://github.com/NixOS/rfcs Which is a repository filled with directives that are to be followed during development to unite the coding style through brainstorm and logical rationale Additionally this RFC can then be…

Hello Armbian team, I’m a big fan of your work and use Armbian on all my single-board computers, including Orange Pi, Banana Pi, and Raspberry Pi. However, I’ve noticed a recurring issue during bootstrapping: identifying the device on the network. Enabling the avahi-daemon could make it easier to connect to or discover the device using mDNS. What are your thoughts on this?

I've checked a few places, and noticed that the NanoPi NEO2 has had an upgrade to its CPU voltage regulator that does not seem to be reflected anywhere; the sunxi-linux wiki still reports that the regulator can provide only 1.1V, and I see no evidence of a regulator for the CPU in the device tree in the master mainline kernel branch. On the NEO2 V1.1, the CPU voltage regulator has been updated to provide GPIO-based voltage regulation, giving a selection of 1.1V (the same as the original board) or 1.3V (this setting is new). I'm quite new to kernel/device tree modifications, so I was wondering if anyone else was aware of this, and, if nobody is willing to incor…

Hello, I'm setting up my Odroids with Ansible and managed to automated almost everything. I just got a HC1 and read on the download page that I should load optimized board configuration in armbian-config. Sadly, armbian-config seems to be an interactive only tool. Are there ways to automate armbian-config? The easiest way would be command line arguments. I also tried to understand what the DTB menu options actually do from the source code but was unsuccessful. My best idea now is to use expect, but that doesn't seem stable: #!/usr/bin/expect set timeout 10 spawn armbian-config sleep 5 # Enter System menu send "\n" sleep 5 # Enter …

Hi all I have been using https://github.com/billw2/rpi-clone to clone sd cards as it uses rsync. It's much quicker than imaging and will clone larger cards to smaller if there is space. The thing is it expects a raspberrypi and so doesn't update the UUID in the armbianEnv.txt and fstab. If I manually do this then the clone is bookable and works fine. I cant script (yet), so if anyone could take a look at the script on git and suggest how this could be changed to work with armbian also i would be really grateful.

Can AVIF support be added to LibVIPS? It works fine on the amd64 version of Ubuntu 24.04, so I'm assuming Armbian needs to update the package. Current bug: Failed to process avif file version: unable to call heifsave_target heifsave: Unsupported compression It's not a HEIC image, this is how LibVIPS encodes AVIF files.

Hi all, While building a custom image that needs to do some things at the end of the first bootup and reboot, I ran into some issues with armbian-firstrun.service. It currently has Type=simple, which means dependencies will be started when armbian-firstrun is *started*, and there is no clean way to wait until after it has *finished*. Looking to fix this, I noticed some other things that could be improved in this area, such as using systemd's first-boot-complete.target and ConditionFirstBoot to more simply manage first-boot-only services. I'm considering implementing some changes and submitting them in a PR, but before I do that, I'd like to get som…

Hi, Linux 5.10 has supported hardware PRNG, SHA, MD% for all sun8i-ce (H3/R40/A64/H5/H6) boards, and supported hardware TRNG on H6. Please consider enable CONFIG_CRYPTO_DEV_SUN8I_CE_HASH, CONFIG_CRYPTO_DEV_SUN8I_CE_PRNG, CONFIG_CRYPTO_DEV_SUN8I_CE_TRNG for hardware offload support. Thanks.

Hi, I’m using this panel: https://osoyoo.com/2019/11/12/instruction-for-raspberry-pi-7-dsi-touch-screen I've installed image: Armbian_20.08.1_Rockpi-4c_bionic_current_5.8.6_minimal.img The system does not work with the Raspberry PI Touchscreen. The OSOYOO panel works fine if connected to Raspberry PI 3B+. Any solutions?

There are a lot of the new wider monitors coming out. I have had one for several months. None of my Armbian boards support it. Some won't display at all, some default to a single lower resolution, and several will only allow to set to 1920x1080. Doesn't HDMI interrogate to discover resolutions and then match capabilities? I have no clue how HDMI actually works but it would be great if Armbian looked proportional on those monitors ;] Thanks

Thanks for Armbian, I very much enjoy it on my Cubietruck server. Forgive my ignorance if I have misunderstood something, but I believe that the Lima opensource Mali drivers will shortly be part of the kernel. https://lkml.org/lkml/2019/5/8/1122 What is the likelihood of Armbian supporting a hardware accelerated desktop using these drivers for the cubietruck and similar boards? It's an old board and is well supported by the project as a server already, so it would be understandable if it was out of scope.

As an ansible neophyte, I'm looking through the 'ansible facts' trying to figure out how to positively identify an Armbian system, with the goal of contributing a patch to the k3s project to improve support for Armbian. Toward the end of the k3s-ansible playbook, they try to write some kernel options to a file in /boot. According to the comments, they've identified by Armbian machine as Ubuntu. At any rate, Armbian seems to want these flags in /boot/armbianEnv.txt, and the file ansible wants to modify doesn't exist so the update aborts: fatal: [t4]: FAILED! => {"changed": false, "msg": "Destination /boot/firmware/cmdline.txt does not exist !", "…

Hi, I am running Armbian Bionic on a banana pi pro and want to use it as a 1-wire busmaster for some temperature and humidity sensors, that are connected to the 1-wire-bus via a attiny84a microcontroller, that simulates an DS2438. I added into /boot/armbianEnv.txt the following code: overlays=w1-gpio param_w1_pin=PI3 Now my sensor is recognized, but the system cannot initiate it, because the respective kernel module is not part of the kernel used in Armbian: dmesg | grep w1: [ 8.708726] w1_master_driver w1_bus_master1: Attaching one wire slave 26.03000084e1bb crc bc [ 8.771631] w1_master_driver w1_bus_master1: Family 26 for 26…

Hello, I would like to propose a change to the default kernel config for the r4s. Currently in .config # # USB HID support # CONFIG_USB_HID=y CONFIG_HID_PID=y CONFIG_USB_HIDDEV=y This should be altered to CONFIG_USB_HID=m This change has been requested previously for other boards: here and is also explained properly. To summarise : the change would allow those using APCUPSD to communicate with their APC UPS device. TiA!

https://iridiumbrowser.de/ From the site: "Iridium Browser is based on the Chromium code base. All modifications enhance the privacy of the user and make sure that the latest and best secure technologies are used.Automatic transmission of partial queries, keywords and metrics to central services is prevented and only occurs with the approval of the user. In addition, all our builds are reproducible and modifications are auditable, setting the project ahead of other secure browser providers." Any chance of getting it in Armbian?

Hi Guys, Big fan of Armbian. I've used it on an old Cubieboard2, and recently I've built a NAS with Odroid-HC2 and am using it there too. This is the first opportunity I've had trying transmission-daemon on Linux with a 'real' workload of several hundred torrents. And as it turns out good old'n'stable Transmission 2.9x has a memory leak. It uses ~45 MB on Windows, and ~45 MB on Linux with v.3.0 from testing. But v.2.94 has climbed steadily from 50 MB up to ~350 MB within several days of use. This is a known issue (https://github.com/transmission/transmission/issues/313) that affects and has been affecting Debian stable. Memory leaks were plugged in…

For the longest time I have struggled with Timezone for Iceland in Armbian. The initial Armbian config has Europe -> and then places in Europe, in this list then it even has exotic places like Jan Mayen and or Swalbard (I forgot which ?). But it does not have Iceland at all. I know at this point in time (at initial install you can manually enter in some time zone format also). If you go in Armbian Config after it has been installed then the Armbian Config tool only displays Cities, so at this point in time you have missed the chance to enter it in the time zone format. Iceland uses UTC / GMT0, as in same time as London h…

Hi there! I've tried your image on Two Trees SK1 3d printer, it has a custom OEM of the SKIPR card. There's no HDMI so I can't see what happens. But putting an ethernet cable it doesn't get DHCP address. The card has also a wifi that I can't identify, not visible with lcpci or lsusb. I put a picture of the card and a schema.

Under Ubuntu when you install using BTRFS and Debian when you install to BTRFS using the Calamares live GUI installer, both installers create a subvolume called @home for the /home directory and another subvol called @ for the rest of the filesystem. This layout enables users to use timeshift to easily (and automatically with timeshift-autosnap-apt) create BTRFS snapshots and restore them using the command line or the timeshift GUI and restore their OS whilst optionally keeping users files stored under /home intact. I would like to see the armbian installation script configure BTRFS in this same manner.

Are there any plans to add an option for full disk encryption to the installer ? I am using the RockPro64 if that matters. I notice that no ARM distro I have tried supports this for the RockPro64 currently so i'm not sure if it is just a low priority or if there is a techncial reason to not have it. Regardless if it's doable I would appreciate it being added down the road.

I would love to see support for modems based on the SIM7070G chip. Along with Quectel’s BG96, SIMCom’s 70x0 and 7x00 families seem to be the leading choice when it comes to IoT-related applications with LTE-M and NB-IoT. Shenzhen-based AND Technology manufactures and offers two very affordable modems (< USD 25) using the SIM7070G: BK-SIM7070G (a break-out board with serial interface) -> AliExpress DG-SIM7070G (a USB stick/dongle) -> AliExpress Sidenote: Waveshare has a Raspberry Pi HAT based on the very same chip –> SIM7070G Cat-M/NB-IoT/GPRS HAT SIMCom as chip provider offers excellent documentation on their …

Dear developers! Could you please consider possibility to change default kernel config, used in release versions of Armbian, so it enable to forcefully unload of kernel modules ( to do this config option CONFIG_MODULE_FORCE_UNLOAD needs to be enabled). This is seldom but regular needs for me and I beleive for many others in case of external hardware malfunctions, for example. Previosly I have used selfcompiled version of Armbian 5.15 where named option was enabled and anything was fine. Now I have upgraded to Armbian 21.08.1 Buster by installing release version of it because it seems dramatically more complicated to compile by myself. Now in …

The only thing I've had issues with on armbian, and that I often have issues with, is the default log2ram. As soon as you start doing anything that actually logs stuff, like access logs, or container logs and so on, the log space is not enough, even if allocating 500 MB RAM. And when /var/log fills up there are going to be crashes... in all kinds of ways. I have an ansible script that disables this now, but sometimes when doing dist-upgrade, log2ram settings come back (and also zram swap, which is also bad because kubernetes does not like swap, but thats not a disaster at least). So I simply propose to not make log2ram default, unless it can have some way to "…

** EDIT - noise alert - already covered by F3 utility *** Is there a shell script that one could recommend for newbies that would work similarly to the H2TESTW program? And if so, should it be included in Armbian - perhaps on a first-run even throwing up a big warning to the op? Kudos to you guys for putting all that work into SD card knowledge and programming into Armbian in the first place. In fact, the good engineering of sd card preservation with Armbian is what drew me to it initially. Heck, for my use case, I may never really need an emmc. Anyway, I'm just not up on what an up to date alternative to h2testw is these …

Hi everyone, I am working on a project to use the Orange Pi Zero 2W as a USB UVC (Webcam) gadget via ConfigFS. I am currently using a newer image with Kernel 6.12/6.1, but I am facing critical issues. Specifically, I am getting 'Permission Denied' errors when trying to write to resolution parameters (like hHeight/wHeight), and even after bypassing that, I encounter 'Device or resource busy' errors when binding the UDC. Based on my research, these UVC functions were much more stable on the Legacy 5.10 kernel. However, I cannot find any official Debian Bullseye/Bookworm images for the Zero 2W that still use the 5.10 kernel, as most archives have been updated …

The reason MX Linux performed so well is, because, it uses some core components from Antix Linux Distro, which is optimised. based on Debian's "stable" branch. MX Linux is a cooperative venture between the antiX and former MEPIS communities, using the best tools and talents from each distro. It is a midweight OS designed to combine an elegant and efficient desktop with simple configuration, high stability, solid performance and medium-sized footprint.

Hello, I need to create images for multiple boards (rpi4b, rpi5b, rock3a, rock5b, orangepi5, orangepi-plus, nanopct6 and khadas-vim4) for a Kubernetes cluster running ceph and cilium, hence I need some new modules and parameters in the kernel. I created a simple playbook that changes the parameters in build/config/kernel/linux-* which works. What does not work is calling compile.sh with the required parameters. The task gives an error and stops after 5 minutes or so. If I run the commands from the prompt, everything is fine...but not convenient. The Ubuntu VM used for the compilation is created on a Fedora 40, with Vagrant, and I gave it 30 cores and 30GB of R…

Hey guys, Just wanted to ask if there is any plan on making a version of armbian for the orange pi 5 Max. I have one and am using the official image but am having problems with hardware acceleration when attempting to use it in jellyfin docker. So I thought some files might be the issue and I previously set up my system with armbian in the orange pi 5 and it worked. If you guys did or are planing to make one, please let me know.
