  1. hi all, i had a orange pi zero board that worked fine until yesterday. MY BOARD IS ORANGEPI ZERO (not 2) i upgraded the OS armbian : Linux orangepizero 6.6.31-current-sunxi #1 SMP Fri May 17 10:02:40 UTC 2024 armv7l GNU/Linux the board worked fine until the last reboot in order to test octopi startup, but before this reboot the OS was upgraded and rebooted the issue now is that the wlan0 seems to be always down i do a lot of setup but it still to remain down, i am not a very expert with these board but i am very new with this kind of issue. can anyone help me with the troubleshooting ? …

  2. Hello, I am very sorry that I have to leave the Armbian flock, but the Dietpi-Distro is so much better. It simply boots off the SD-Card on my NanoPi NeoCore and the darned Ethernet simply works; also the DTB overlay files work, so the additional I2C and UART hardware works in Dietpi. And the kernel is 6.x too ! However, the NanoPi Neocore is shipped with an outdated Armbian (using Kernel 4.x) on EMMC. What I now want is to replace the prepared EMMC Armbian distro with whatever is on my SD-Card, but this task is more difficult than I tought. What I would need is to simply copy the whole SD-Card to EMMC, but the recommended "dd if='sdcard...' of='emmc...'...." co…

Hi, I am having problems connecting my orange pi zero 3 to my TV via hdmi: No matter what I try the TV reports "no signal". Before I came to armbian I have tried the vendor-supplied debian and arch images and could not get hdmi output on any of them, so it might be that my micro-hdmi adapter is faulty or that the hdmi-port on the device itself is faulty, but over the weekend I cannot replace any hardware so I thought I try here to see if anyone has an idea on what to try. The image I am currently running is Armbian_community_24.5.0-trunk.58_Orangepizero3_jammy_current_6.6.17_gnome_desktop.img. When I log into the device I ca…

  4. I'm trying to setup a GPS-based time server on an Orange PI Zero 3, running Armbian 24.8.0-trunk.495, kernel 6.6.43-current-sunxi64. I have the exact same hardware setup working fine on a RaspberryPI 4b, running RPI OS / Debian 11 (bullseye) , kernel 6.1.21-v8+ #1642. On the RPI4, gpsd recognises the (cheap chinese "M8N") GPS module as u-blox and keeps working in a stable way root@rpi4:~# gpsctl /dev/ttyS0 /dev/ttyS0 identified as a u-blox SW ROM CORE 3.01 (107888),HW 00080000 at 9600 baud. the /boot/config.txt has these two lines for the UART config enable_uart=1 init_uart_baud=9600 On the OPIZ3 I configured /boot/armbianEnv.txt for UART5…

  5. Hi, I recently purchased a Banana Pi M2 zero, and I can't seem to get the OTG port to work with any kind of operating system. I have tried all of the normal remedies like cable issues, power supply, etc. With no luck. I know Armbian is usually the best OS for these little boards, but I can't seem to get a keyboard or mouse to work with it. Although it boots up just fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  6. I downloaded the lastest Armbian image for my Nanopi Neo (Armbian 23.02.2 Jammy with Linxu 5.15.93-sunxi). I tried even with that and it does not seems to work. The non-desktop versions worked however. I didn't see any error messages during the flashing and everything else seemed to work well. 9. good morning everyone, I installed Armbian 23.02.2 on orangepizero about a year ago without ever having a problem . Today it suddenly stopped booting and I can't get it to start again and that's what I'm interested in, also possibly to recover internal docker configurations. The orangepizero is powered by a 3A power supply under UPS and properly cooled, if I use the latest release on a new SD it works perfectly, so I think it is not a hardware problem. The SD with Armbian 23.02.2 is not corrupted and I can read every part of it. Does anyone know any tricks to get it running again?

  10. Hi, I am trying to get a led matrix to work via the SPI interface but cannot get it to work. I have enabled the interface and have an spi-device under /dev and there is a spi-module loaded. I have tried to connect MOSI and MISO to run spidev-test and everything seems to be fine but when I connect the led-matrix simply nothing happens. I can run the example-scripts from the luma-matrix library without getting an error - but there is simply nothing appearing on the matrix - however it does light up when I touch it on the backside... i have tried to use different values for param_spidev_spi_bus and param_spidev_spi_cs in a…

It had an effect. But the frequency only rose to 500 Hz. I tried to find what could limit this, I looked in drivers/usb/dwc2/gadget.c and also in composite.c but I couldn’t find anything. 45. I've seen this question asked quite frequently here and all the posts end before there is a solution. I think it's time we had a crystal clear discussion on how it can be done. Not just for my curiosity, but for the people who've asked before and for the people who will ask in the future. The reason: Many hats/shields designed for RaspberryPi would otherwise be compatible with OrangePi if Armbian/u-boot didn't direct the debug output to UART0. UART0 is the most commonly used serial connection for hats/shields designed for RaspberryPi. OrangePi has multiple UART gpio so it would make sense for the O.S. (Armbian) to use the one that least impacts the…

  52. Hello everyone ! I'm facing a hard issue that I still cannot solve. On my Raspberry, on Raspberry Os, to be able to use Rustdesk (https://github.com/rustdesk/rustdesk, an open source Teamviewer ) I needed to add some tweaks to the /boot/config.txt file: hdmi_force_hotplug=1 (See doc) hdmi_group=2 (See doc) Now, I'm trying to replicate these behaviours on Armbian for Opi zero 3 (but it could probably work for all Allwinner cpus if a solution is found) When looking on the Armbian documentation for Sunxi, I've found this (See doc) : For example to always use the hdmi connector, even if no cable is inserted, using edid info when available and …

  54. Hi. I would like to know if someone can help me. I was successfully able to compile armbian 6.6.30 with all of @Stephen Graf patches for my orangepi zero 3 having Full Audio working even on HDMI. see below for reference. Now I have a 2nd project. It runs the h616 with 2GB DDR3 RAM with AXP313. Can someone help me with a patch for the AXP313 on h616. Or alternatively, could my h618 orangepi zero 3 setup work if I patch it to run with DDR3? If so where can I find such a patch. Thanks in advance.

  55. Hello Armbian community, Firstly, thank you for the amazing work that you do. Having Armbian has made the setup process so simple, and I really appreciate that I'm completely new to the world of SBCs and Armbian (but not Linux), and this issue had me stumped for a long time. I wanted to share the solution for those who are in the same position as me, as I only found this on Raspberry Pi resources. Sorry if this has already been covered elsewhere in the forums - my searches didn't show any answers from here, and additionally, I keep getting time-locked (forced to wait 30sec) for every forum search. The model of OPI I have is the Orange Pi Zero 2…

  56. Hello, I hope someone might help me on this. Is anyone here using the ENC28J60 Ethernet port on an Orange Pi Zero 2W or Orange Pi Zero 3? If so, can you please share the file .dts (or .dtbo) that is working for you? I've generated a .dtbo using the file in https://github.com/armbian/sunxi-DT-overlays/blob/master/examples/spi-enc28j60.dts, with: dtc -I dts -O dtb -o /boot/overlay-user/spi-enc28j60.dtbo spi-enc28j60.dts but still it doesn't work. It says "chip not found". I'm using the same cable pinout as in my Raspberry Pi Zero 2W and it works successfully, but not in the Orange Pi Zero 2W. Any idea?

  58. The topic is no longer new, but I have not found the reason and its solution! If you turn off the power (just pull out the wire) then you can get a non-working system. As I noticed, the files opened at the time of launch are broken. And some files such as /etc/boot/armbianEnv.txt in general, they are recorded with some kind of garbage!!! Because of this, your settings fly off! For example, I use ttys1 and this option is registered armbianEnv.txt , but after the power loss, there is just terrible garbage in this file, as if the memory dump fell there!!! For example, I still use dotnet, so it also breaks down and does not start anymore!! When y…

  62. Hello. I have a problem with Orange Pi Zero LTS. I also have an expansion board and the required 3.5-jack cable. I have read many different forums and sites where people have described problems with video signal output. Often there are solutions such as: 1. Editing the file /boot/script.bin But this file does not exist. 2. They also talk about the launch of "tv". You need to add an entry to /etc/modules. But that doesn't work either, since ./tvout doesn't exist. As I understand it, in new versions there is no TV support, but there is no way to download old versions either. Hello! I have a Zero2 board with 1GB of RAM. I compiled a Debian 12 desktop image for Zero2 using Armbian and I want to play online videos through a web browser. Unfortunately, the results have been disappointing as the performance for 1080p videos is very slow. I tried using swap, but it didn't help. I also attempted to play 1080p videos using MPV and VLC. MPV can still play the videos, but it feels sluggish, and VLC gets stuck on the screen until the playback is finished. I would like to know how to configure Zero2 on Linux to achieve video acceleration. I'm new to this, so I would appreciate some guidance. Thank you!

At first, I thought this is probably normal to have a load during the system boot but after waiting over 10 minutes I found that the load did not decrease. Next I tried using TOP which revealed a process called kworker: freezeable_power. So, no confirmation that I hav…
