  7. Hello, I am new to Armbian and Linux in general. I am using an OrangePi Zero 2 (H616) board and need to enable the hardware UART. To do this, I tried using the simplest method I could find: running the command armbian-config -> System -> Hardware. However, in the section where I should find options for peripherals to enable, I found nothing. I have tried installing different versions of Armbian, but nothing changed: - Armbian_24.5.1_Orangepizero2_jammy_current_6.6.31.img - Armbian_24.2.1_Orangepizero2_bookworm_current_6.6.16.img - Armbian_23.8.3_Orangepizero2_bookworm_current_6.1.53.img - Armbian_24.5.1_Orangepizero2_noble_current_6.6.31.i…

  12. Hello! I have three Libre Computer Tritium H5 boards and three eMMC modules on hands. All three eMMC modules is flashed with exactly same Armbian image and exactly same uboot. I also use exactly same PSU and cable for all three boards (however I reproduced this issue with four PSU and three microUSB cables, no difference in behavior was found). All three boards start just fine from microSD (so it's not exactly "Your board doesn't work?" case). One board never boot from eMMC on first power up, but almost always boot on second power up. That reproducible with all three eMMC modules. Two other boards just never boot from any eMMC module…

  16. On the latest image (25.2.2) of both Server - Noble and Desktop - XFCE - Bookworm, the wireless interfaces show up as expected and connect to wifi. After the first apt upgrade and reboot, the system no longer detects the wireless interface at all. For my armbianmonitor output, there is a mediatek wireless interface plugged into USB, but there is no mention of the rtl8189 in any of the boot or hardware logs. Did something change in the overlay or other pre-kernel bootloader configs which disable the device? I would think if it were merely kernel / driver related, the hardware would still show up, but be unusable until a driver was configured.

For PINE A64 with Ubuntu Focal (stable and nightly) with a 5 MP camera, the documentation states to add camera_type=s5k4ec to /boot/armbianEnv.txt and reboot. After rebooting, the kernel module is not available. modinfo s5k4ec returns: modinfo: ERROR: Module s5k4ec not found. The file /boot/config-5.9.8-sunxi64 shows that only camera sensors OV2640 and MT9V011 are available and CONFIG_VIDEO_S5K4ECGX is not set. Is this an issue with the build?

  21. I need to use a 10 inch 800x600 DSI display in a Pine64 project and I think the easiest way to do this would be to modify the driver for the Pine 7 inch DSI display. It appears to me that the display resolution is hard coded in this driver (panel-feiyang-07024di26a30d.ko) and not supplied by a device tree overlay like some other Armbian SBCs. 31. Hi all, I’m trying to get KlipperScreen running directly on the framebuffer on a BigTreeTech CB1 that’s using an Allwinner H616B chip. It’s running Armbian Bookworm (kernel 6.6.66-vendor-sunxi64, Dec 2024 build) on a Manta M8P V2.0 board with a TFT35-SPI display that shows up as fb_st7796s. The goal is to have KlipperScreen render directly to /dev/fb0 without needing a desktop or HDMI. The framebuffer itself seems fine as the screen shows the BigTreeTech logo on boot, and I can write to it manually, so the driver appears to be working correctly. I would like to present Archian, the bastard child of Armbian & Arch. 44. So there is some weirdness happening with Armbian on the Orange Pi Zero 2 that I bought from Amazon. These are the V1.5 version of the hardware. With the Orange Pi image (which looks strangely like armbian), once the device is booted, the red led goes off, and the green led turns on. With the armbian image, the red light stays on, and the HDMI output does not turn on in the CLI image. This led me initially to think this board was not working. Once booted, `armbian-config` does not show the wif…

  50. Hello, I have orange pi zero 2 but it doesn't work with armbian versions after kernel version 4.9.318, I tried many versions. When I check it through the serial port, it stays on "trying to boot from MMC1 armbian" and the led on it is constantly red. Also, if I upgrade the kernel with apt-get upgrade in version 4.9.318, the card does not boot afterward and gets a "No ethernet found" error. Versions I tried : Armbian_22.11.3_Orangepizero2_jammy_legacy_4.9.318.img [Worked but no wifi connection] Armbian_22.02.2_Orangepizero2_bullseye_legacy_4.9.255.img [Works good] Armbian_22.08.7_Orangepizero2_jammy_edge_5.19.16.img [Not working !!] Armbian_…

  51. Hi team, There are no current images for Orange Pi Zero 2 at https://www.armbian.com/cf7stdb-entries/orange-pi-zero-2/ The Zero image does not work. I did manage to find an archived legacy image based on some posts from 2022 however nothing on the new kernel works. My question is this: Is there a reason why these devices require unique builds? I understand the kernel drivers may not be in 6.x for this board however I'm more referring to the huge number of builds that need to be supported. Thanks, Jason

  52. Unfortunately, the Orange pi zero 2 does not start with the Armbian img, it does turn on, but there is only a white line in the top left and it does not boot any further. I once downloaded the original ubuntu image from the manufacturer, this works without problems but is just outdated. Can you take a look at it? Actually wanted to install the pi hole project with Armbian Image: Armbian 22.11 Jammy Kernel 4.9.y, Size: 445Mb, Release date: Jan 10, 2023 SHA hash | PGP signature

  54. Hello, I've been using OPiZ2 for about 2 years as Pi-hole in gravity-sync with another one (Orange Pi 3 LTS running Open Media Vault with no problem). Today I found out it was dead, no connection and just a blank screen. It must have happened in the past few days, because I checked it on sunday and it was up and running. I'm almost sure I was using it with Armbian_22.11.0-trunk_Orangepizero2_sid_edge_6.0.6. i have extracted the sd card and checked it on Windows with Diskinternals reader and Minitool Partition Wizard, no problem found. 57. Hello everyone, I am using an Orange Pi Zero 2W with a graphical user interface (GUI). I downloaded and installed the official Orange Pi Zero 2W image. Unfortunately, I keep running into a Wi-Fi connection issue. After booting, the system repeatedly asks me to enter my Wi-Fi password. If I don’t enter it, I have no internet connection. What’s interesting is: If I disable and re-enable Wi-Fi in the network manager, it automatically reconnects to the known network without asking for the password again. Alternatively, a system reboot also restores the Wi-Fi connection automatically. I have already seen o…

  58. Good day. We have a medical device project. We always wanted to have bananapi m4 zero hardware on our main board, with armbian as an OS seeing as it is up to date and fit for purpose. However, our Hardware supplier has not been able to solve the full hardware stack. We currently are able to boot the orangepi zero 3 image... and as far as I understand the hardware chips are very close to each other. We also have emmc on the board. But not working. In other reports I read kernel upgrades. Could it do a lengthy fsck during boot? 64 GB SD-card/file system. Would some (red or green) LED shine? It's all dark.

  67. Armbian image version: Armbian 22.08 Bullseye Kernel 5.19.y, Size: 388Mb, Release date: Oct 22, 2022 Bug report: 1: When i reboot my orangepi zero 2 , my devices will be power off. 2: I use the newest image , display nothing on screen. But i have an older version image. It display to screen by Micro-HDMI perfect. 3: Is possible to light up green LED after system start? I mean, when the device power on, red LED light up. It's nice. But if light the green LED up after system start up, I can know my system get no troubles and it's running now.

  68. It looks like the May 28th release produced issues. I tried using the images on the OrangePI Zero 2 and the led only stays red. The prior version worked with no issue.

  69. Before complaining about an issue read this! tl;dr: Put your Zero2 and/or any other H616 based device on the shelf and WAIT for proper support to come. And no. There is no ETA. Assuming usable state end 2021/beginning 2022. Software support is still work in progress and under heavy development. Provided preview images can break any time. Do not report this, we are aware of that and can/will not help you with that if you are not willing to investigate and research by yourself. And, nothing happen, Red LED and Green LED not lighting. Serial Port has no any message. I have 3 SD card, 2 Orangepi Zero2. All of it I test still failure. I have a older image for Orangepi Zero2 name "Armbian_21.08.1_Orangepizero2_buster_legacy_4.9.280.img.xz". This one is useful. BUT, can not "apt upgrade". If you do so , you cannot boot up next time. 71. Hello, I have abandoned the Orangepizero2 I had bought months ago to use with Armbian, I have confused zero and zero 2. Seeing new release, I have just downloaded/install Armbian 22.05 Jammy. Install is ok, good work, thank you ! The wireless interface seems not enabled, I have looked at dmesg output and nmtui-connect. I could not find info about it, the board name doesn't help a lot. I understand the support of this board is pretty new. Is there a known technic to enable the wifi ? Have a nice day,

  72. Hi all, I am trying to get an OV5640 camera working on the orangePiOne. I found this thread and was wondering if the overlay (or some overlay) is still required. 82. Yesterday, I upgraded my Pine A64 LTS to the 5.10.21 kernel: The system rebooted just fine, though took longer then before. I didn't realize why until today, when I tried to access /media/mmcboot and discovered that it wasn't there. In fact, there is no /dev/mmcblk0p1 device at all. It's bizarre: it boots from the MicroSD, switches to my SSD, but then the MicroSD card device is simply gone when the system is up. I do not see this on two other Pine A64 (not LTS) systems. I was able to mount the microSD card on one of the other systems, and fsck reported everything was fine. I could also see all of the files just fine. The files …

Ideally I would really like to go mainline as later kernels have some functionality that would be useful for my use of the board. The only remaining reason (apart from cpu freq.) for sticking to the 3.10 kernel has been the lack of MIPI DSI support in mainline, but now I see that, despite the Matrix at http://linux-sunxi.org/Linux_mainlining_effort still being red for A64 mipi, some work is being/has been done by Maxime Ripard. I've tried searching the forums for info on the Pine H64 Model B, but all the information is rather outdated, so I have some questions: Is this board supported by the images on the Pine H64 page which show a Model A board? (There was mention they work but without ethernet support.) Has ethernet support been fixed in the Pine H64 images for Model B? Are nightly builds still disabled for these boards?

  95. I have a brand new Pine H64-B. I can get AOSC to start on it, but needed to get Ambian to work. It will partly boot up, but never gets to the the CLI or desktop I have a good SD Card (AOSC works fine, works on a Pi; tried 32G and 128G, ) and power supply. 96. Pine A64 · Started by Zululander,

My Pine64 boots using Armbian_5.30_Pine64_Ubuntu_xenial_default_3.10.105_desktop. I have added pine64_lcd=on to /boot/armbianEnv.txt and updated the module file. But now when I plug in HDMI nothing displays on the HDMI screen. I also can not see it as a secondary display. Is it possible to have both displays on or can I only have one, having to remove LCD if I want HDMI output?

  97. Hi, I've changed the default console from ttyS0 to ttyS3, using the mainline kernel with overlay "/boot/dtb/allwinner/overlay/sun50i-a64-uart3.dtbo". Unfortunately when I run command "sudo shutdown -r now" (or sudo reboot) my pine shuts down instead of reboot (although the console output says "reboot: Restarting system" at the end.) [Hard reset reboot works with "reboot -f" using ttyS3 console]. Using the standard console I can reboot my pine without problems. What could case this behavior? Is it necessary to disable or kill a ttyS3-process before the reboot?

I did a small initialization script to turn "ON" the System LED (upopulated "LED" label on the board), so that it helps to user to know that the boot process is running... I like to ask the dev team to think about including something like it to the Pine64 Armbian images, since the Pine64 board itself does not provide such indicator, the user is left in…

  99. Ethernet does not appear to be working on the latest versions of Armbian with pine64 512mb model (has only 10/100MBps Eth) Current Version: ARMBIAN 5.83 stable Debian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch) 4.19.38-sunxi64 - I have tried 2 boards in case its a hardware issue, no go. - Ethernet works with Armbian Xenial (3.10 legacy kernel) - The network port shows activity when initially powering up, but when it begins boot lights go out. - I have tried many older and newer kernels, including the new 5.1.0 dev kernel, with no luck. - Eth0 show up with command "ip address" but not with "ifconfig" - When I try running "sudo ethtool eth0" I get error…

  100. Hello, First of all, thank you so much for putting these images together. Kudos to you all for some great work! Now on to my issue. I installed Xenial build and it booted up nicely to XFCE. The only issue I am having is no audio over HDMI. I know the display works for HDMI audio as my nVidia Shield works fine. Any help on determining the issue? If you need any logs, boot messages, and/or config files, let me know. Thank you in advance, Brian
