  1. I have been trying to diagnose a QHYCCD camera problem on a N2 running INDI server. Everything appears to work fine but after several minutes the device fails to respond. The device is only supported by QHY on a true USB3 slot. Looking on other forums USB and cable stability are a common problem with these QHY devices so falling onto the wrong USB bus would definitely be a problem. However looking at lsusb I can see the device has dropped onto the wrong USB bus: $ lsusb Bus 002 Device 002: ID 05e3:0620 Genesys Logic, Inc. 4. Hi guys I'm new to this type of computer. I recently got the Le Potato and have tried flashing the armbian package for it with USBimager and Balena and still get no boot. I was able to use the Raspberry PI imager and got Raspbian installed. I'm not sure what exactly is going wrong. I am using a Sandisk Extreme V1 32g but was able to get raspbian on a Samsung Evo select 256g.

  5. Hi everybody, I just got a hand on a generic tv box powered by 4 cores S905x. Performance from this tv box is not satisfied for me. So I am thinking about this VIM4. Can anyone please tell me how is single core and multi cores cpu performance on VIM4 vs S905x? How much faster is it?

  6. hi all, I'm very new here, just got my first potato and am playing around with it. I noticed my top left USB port wasn't working at all, which googling led me to this thread here: It's a pretty old thread, but it seems to still be doing it, at least in the version of jammy I downloaded today. Not a dealbreaker for me, since I only really need 1 port, I can use one of the other 3 and it works fine, but thought maybe someone would want to know if you didn't already know. I DID confirm that it's not the board/port. If I put Ubuntu on it, I can see the drive just fine in blkid even when it's plugged into that pesky USB port.

  15. Hello, I recently updated my N2 server from Bullseye to Bookworm. Reboot went fine. I then noticed I still had the old kernel from the linux-image-odroidn2 package (4.9.190-odroidn2), so I ran armbian-config, and told it to switch to linux-image-current-meson64. 17. Hello, I’m in a pickle. I bought an Odroid HC4 a few months ago, setup a RAID-1 array and installed Nextcloud on it. At the time, I used `nand-sata-install` to move the system from the SD‑card to a partition of one of the HDD (/dev/sda1), out of RAID (/dev/md0), and leave the bootloader on the SD-card. I did not make a backup of this SD-card and, after rebooting today, I realised the SD-card was not functioning any more. No device I use (Sansa audio player with Rockbox, phone with Ubuntu Touch, Laptop with Ubuntu) would even detect it. I was thinking of using `nand-sata-install` again to only update the bootload…

Is there a way to redirect these commands to the EMMC? Regards

What seems to be the problem is the C2 (this happens with both, same SD card) are not seeing devices plugged into USB ports so the USB connection to the UPS is not working. I have verified the Eaton and USB cable are fine. I regularly update the C2 I wonder if a recent update has affected the USB port functioning? Any way to troubleshoot? I tried a few USB flash drives and then lsusb but none are seen.

  40. Banana PI M2S · Started by baryon,

The USB-C port and lsusb results suggest to me that this board should support USB 3 under Armbian, but I have no earthly idea how I would succeed at this. My first, naive attempt used the PinePhone docking bar. This looked like it might work as it passed power through to the M2S, and it also powered the WD Passport HDD I used to test, but no devices appeared. Is there a better fit? Perhaps the PinePhone device only works with Pine devices? This would be better posted on the official Banana Pi forum, but I'm apparently IP banned despite having never posted there. This is an Armbian system, so I reckon it's not too off-topic to ask here.

As alway, armbian is rock solid 😉 I have just a little question: Can one modify the information presented in htop? I'd like to have "CPU temperature" and "TX today" (meaning sent bytes) showing. The welcome screen already shows "CPU temperature" and "RX today". I know that the CPU temperature can be read here /etc/armbianmonitor/datasources/soctemp and but I can't find it in the htop-configuration under "available meters".

When I run it on the board natively connected to screen, I got same issues drecribed in https://stackoverflow.com/questions/28674759/running-simple-winforms-application-on-mono-for-arm and https://github.com/mono/mono/issues/13049 I tested it does not work on LePotato and Orangepi3B, but works on Rock 5B so I think this is more general than specific board, but not affecting all boards. On the other hand, the program executes correctly when I run it through SSH with X forwarding. It also works with vendor provided image on Orangepi3B and Rock 4B. Some answer in the stack…

  51. Hi everyone, I'm using Radxa Zero HW version 1.4, 4GB RAM with 64GB eMMC. I used long time armbian on SD card. I decided to install MMC for better performance but armbian crashes APT involving stuffs. By the way, I'm using Rzero with headless and connecting via SSH from Win11 machine. I installed with producer tools directly writing image to MMC and alternatively installed with armbian-config tool from SD card to MMC. In both way successfully boots and connects Wi-Fi. For better diagnostic, how can I get error dump? (I lost SSH connection when its crushed).

  52. I want to use a StromPi3 board with my lepotato board. I am using the armbian image. I used armbian-config to enable the serial ports and both show up as /dev/TTYAML0 and /dev/ttyAML6. Nonetheless I am unable to communicate on the serial ports even when connecting jumpers and a USB serial converter. I later tried to modify the divorce tree by hand. No change. Is there something else I could try to get the serial port on pins 8 and 10 working?

  53. Hi, I installed/compiled different browsers that are based on QT (QtWebKit, QtWebEngine). Unfortunately, special characters, often necessary for typing in non-English languages, do not work. E.g. a Spanish accented 'e appears as 00e9 This makes all these really fast browsers with low memory footprint useless for multilanguage writing (e.g. in webmailers). The characters work fine in the terminal and other browsers such as Midori, Firefox and Chromium. Thus, I think, something went wrong in the compilation of QT libraries. Any idea how to solve that?

This is NOT a support request, more of a brag. Needing a backup system, I was enamored of the low power requirements to run the bpi-m5. But they have no sata ports to drive bigger SSD's. But I bought a 5 stack of 4Tb TMSC built SSD drives at $200/copy, figuring on using a USB3.2 hub and startech's usb3.2 to sata adaptors, a big drive cage and a 50 watt 5 volt psu. More than 3 drives plugged in was too much current for the hub, itgot hot & shut down, so I bought another hub & glued it to the otherside of the drive cage. Problem solved. Printed the shelves to hold the drives and a BPI-m5. I configured the 5 SSD's into a software raid6 of 11TB. A friend that i…

All the eye candy and mouse clicks to actually switch workspaces are very distracting when one is trying to configure klipper. Can all this be reduced to a single click on the dot representing that workspace in the micro-pager? The eye candy is impressive to visiting frogs, until its a PITA when actually doing work. Instead of starting up into dwm via lightdm's autologin, all I got was the blank blinking cursor screen. Working through it with an LLM, the resolution worked out to be adding a stanza to Xorg.conf. Section "ServerFlags" Option "AutoAddGPU" "false" EndSection Is this the correct solution? Is this known or understood? I know nothing about any of this. I presume it's related to how the devices look to Xorg via the kernel, but I have no understanding beyond that level, if that's even correct.
