Hi guys, My N2+ just arrived and I was able to install a Debian Bookworm (EDGE) image I built onto it (both to a SD card and an EMMC card) The selector switch is set to boot from MMC. Armbian fires up nice from the SD card but it does not boot from the EMMC. I can see the Drive with fdisk so I guess I need to copy the boot image onto it. (Its /dev/zram1) This is the first step towards building a PREEMPT_RT image so I was excited to see it sorta works! Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

  4. Hello, I'll start by saying I'm new at those things. I have recently bought a "Le Potato" board. I was trying to install Lakka (via raccomanded link). When I plugged in the micro SD, the power, the HDMI out ecc, nothing happened other than two led turning on (red and blue). What could have gone wrong? Thanks in advance

  5. Hi guys I'm new to this type of computer. I recently got the Le Potato and have tried flashing the armbian package for it with USBimager and Balena and still get no boot. I was able to use the Raspberry PI imager and got Raspbian installed. I'm not sure what exactly is going wrong. I am using a Sandisk Extreme V1 32g but was able to get raspbian on a Samsung Evo select 256g.

In the "legacy" version we were able to use the u-boot script (then a dedicated boot.ini) for setting a gpio pin low like this gpio clear GPIOH_4 Unfortunately Armbian's mainline u-boot version does not recognize GPIOH_4 as a valid gpio pin name. Anyone able to help? Did the naming change? Gé

  13. Hello folks. I am thinking about getting a VIM3 or VIM4 as a PC for computation purposes. I think Monero mining shows the limit of a combination of memory + cpu. The higher the more performant the combination of memory + cpu is. My choice is currently between a board like VIM3 or VIM4 or a desktop i5 9th gen. I will be thankful if an owner can xmrig monero mining software to do a benchmark. So to do the benchmark one should: - Download xmrig - Run a benchmark and submit it: https://xmrig.com/docs/miner/benchmark The benchmark will be available in the benchmarks page in xmrig website. 20. Banana Pi M5 · Started by gene1934,

This is NOT a support request, more of a brag. Needing a backup system, I was enamored of the low power requirements to run the bpi-m5. But they have no sata ports to drive bigger SSD's. But I bought a 5 stack of 4Tb TMSC built SSD drives at $200/copy, figuring on using a USB3.2 hub and startech's usb3.2 to sata adaptors, a big drive cage and a 50 watt 5 volt psu. More than 3 drives plugged in was too much current for the hub, itgot hot & shut down, so I bought another hub & glued it to the otherside of the drive cage. Problem solved. Printed the shelves to hold the drives and a BPI-m5. I configured the 5 SSD's into a software raid6 of 11TB. A friend that i…

  42. Hi, I installed/compiled different browsers that are based on QT (QtWebKit, QtWebEngine). Unfortunately, special characters, often necessary for typing in non-English languages, do not work. E.g. a Spanish accented 'e appears as 00e9 This makes all these really fast browsers with low memory footprint useless for multilanguage writing (e.g. in webmailers). The characters work fine in the terminal and other browsers such as Midori, Firefox and Chromium. Thus, I think, something went wrong in the compilation of QT libraries. Any idea how to solve that?

  52. Hello everyone, I am trying to get a Bigtreetech PiTFT70 DSI screen working on my Banana Pi CM4 mounted on a Bigtreetech Manta M8P 3D printer control board. It is supposedly a clone of the Raspberry Pi 7inch DSI display and uses the same display and touch chips. The DSI port on the M8P is wired to DSI 1 port on the Bpi CM4. I have tried hacking together a device tree overlay for it but I don't know enough of what needs turning on and what addresses they require (i2c etc) to get it working. Can anyone with Amlogic meson knowledge assist me? I am running the latest armbian bookworm 23.8 with all current updates installed.

  57. Hi everyone! For about a week now, I have been using armbian 22.11.1 on my new Odroid HC4, which is my Nextcloud server. As alway, armbian is rock solid 😉 I have just a little question: Can one modify the information presented in htop? I'd like to have "CPU temperature" and "TX today" (meaning sent bytes) showing. The welcome screen already shows "CPU temperature" and "RX today". I know that the CPU temperature can be read here /etc/armbianmonitor/datasources/soctemp and but I can't find it in the htop-configuration under "available meters".

  65. Armbian recently merged and will be releasing (and backporting) a patched devicetree file for the Odroid C4 and HC4 that eliminates the second power-cycle "glitch" during boot. Hopefully this will fix at least one issue people have been reporting, where some HDDs (or other devices) do not react well to rapid power double-tap during boot. https://github.com/armbian/build/blob/main/patch/kernel/archive/meson64-6.19/board-odroid-sm1-regulators-boot-on.patch It will also be released (and likely backported) upstream in next Linux kernel release and/or fixes. Also, something else people have been reporting is the HC4 struggling to spin up two l…

  71. So, first of all, pretty much a newbie here. I'm trying to add protonvpn to my HC4. I was able to do it with Ubuntu Mate (from the HC4 webpage) on the same hardware, so I'm pretty sure it's possible on Armbian. To be fair, the ProtonVPN website says that raspbian is not supported (and I assume they meant to say ARM) but I have been able to get it to work on Mate, and the problem on Armbian seems to be the Public Key and nothing else. After installation, the app will start, but won't work, so some successful compiling for ARM seems to be happening. What I did: - Downloaded the deb file for Debian based stable release - Tried GDebi and Apt, but dpkg wo…

  79. Hello, I’m in a pickle. I bought an Odroid HC4 a few months ago, setup a RAID-1 array and installed Nextcloud on it. At the time, I used `nand-sata-install` to move the system from the SD‑card to a partition of one of the HDD (/dev/sda1), out of RAID (/dev/md0), and leave the bootloader on the SD-card. I did not make a backup of this SD-card and, after rebooting today, I realised the SD-card was not functioning any more. 81. Hello, I recently updated my N2 server from Bullseye to Bookworm. Reboot went fine. 86. Radxa Zero · Started by MichaIng,

USB gadget mode does currently not work OOTB on Armbian, but it can be enabled easily with a device tree change or overlay: /dts-v1/; /plugin/; / { compatible = "radxa, zero", "amlogic,g12a"; fragment@0 { target = <&usb>; __overlay__ { dr_mode = "otg"; }; }; }; I can open a PR for adding this as device tree overlay, or enabling OTG OOTB on Radxa Zero, like vendor did: https://github.com/radxa/kernel/commit/775a467 The latter would be simple. In case of an overlay, I'd need some hint about how to do it best: Adding it to the general meson64 overlays patch seems to be right: https://github.com/armbian/build/blob/master/p…

Instead of starting up into dwm via lightdm's autologin, all I got was the blank blinking cursor screen. Working through it with an LLM, the resolution worked out to be adding a stanza to Xorg.conf. Section "ServerFlags" Option "AutoAddGPU" "false" EndSection Is this the correct solution? Is this known or understood? I know nothing about any of this. I presume it's related to how the devices look to Xorg via the kernel, but I have no understanding beyond that level, if that's even correct.
