  1. Hi, I put the image on an SD card, but the machine fails to boot. Looking at the serial console, it just sits in a loop with the CPU constantly resetting after an exception. Serial console log is attached. Regards, Dianne. bootloop.txt

  2. Hi. I'm running Armbian 22.05.3 Focal with Linux 5.10.60-rockchip on an Asus Tinker board. Can someone tell me how to enable SPI? I've seen instructions that say you should be able to run armbian-config and go to System > Hardware > spi-spidev, however the Hardware menu does not exist for me.

  3. Hi, Has anyone tried compiling zfs? According to google it should work out of the box? However, when I try to install, zfs dkms is saying that the module will not be compiled due to missing kernel headers. Fine, but where are the headers? I'm using a fresh install from https://www.armbian.com/rockpro64/ armbian-config - Software - headers_install does nothing, installing linux-headers-current-rockchip64 installs 22.05.4, not 22.08.1 that I have, and "compiling headers", whatever that might be, fails how do I get a matching kernel and headers, any version? root@rockpro64:~# dpkg -l | fgrep rockchip i…

  4. Hi, does anyone know how to get hardware video acceleration on orange 4 lts? I've looked around and I saw that rk3399's multimedia support can be enabled using the rk3399 legacy multimedia framework. But that requires a legacy buster image, which doesn't exist for the orange pi. I've tried to compile it myself, but it seems the compile script won't allow it. Is it really impossible to compile a legacy kernel for orange pi 4 lts?

  5. Hello, I have set kernel.panic=180 in /etc/sysctl.conf to reboot on a kernel panic. Before, the system would keep running/hanging and I could read the errors if I turned on a attached display. Now the result is that the tinkerboard switches off. My expected result would be a reboot. Do I have to set something else? Or do I need to use watchdog? I am using the original tinkerboard with debian bullseye, kernel 5.15.48-rockchip.

  8. Hello. I downloaded Armbian 22.05 Jammy XFCE for Desktop. When I boot up my Orange Pi 4 LTS everything looks good. The first problem was a Wi-Fi 5G password (system dont recognize my password), only 2.4G works. The second problem (and the main problem) was a display - when X start, my display turn off (I have HDMI-connection). What I am doing wrong?

  13. I've got jammy running but I have a dsi display for the board and I'd like that to work (well the tp port too) with jammy. Looking at armbian config I see no setting for it. I know the display works fine as if I load an aryufan android image it works as it is set to use DSI by default. Does this kernel know about the DSI port? Do I have to build a custom kernel? If not then what boot env line will get it going?

  14. Hi, i want to connect a MCP 2515 (the small modules for arduino) to my tinkerboard "Armbian 22.02.1 Hirsute with bleeding edge Linux 5.17.5-rockchip" I have enabled the SPI0 (and UART1) directly from armbian-config, I have disabled all the other peripherals. 15. Hello, I would like to know more informations about this test made with the Asus XG-C100C Network Adapter or, generally, how to optimize the speed from a 10GbE PCIe Network Adapter in the RockPro64. Which version to use of Armbian and how to get that version to have so good performances? Which version of the Adapter driver to use? Were the drivers included in the Kernel or did you use the Asus driver recompiled? I would be very grateful if you will help me. Thank you.

  25. I know for sure that booting from an sd card and then using dd to write the uncompressed image to the emmc device isn't what works. 35. Using the 5.xx kernal I have been changing the eth0 MAC address at /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/ 'Wired connection 1.nmconnection'. This has changed a bit as the versions progress - but version Armbian 21.08.2 Focal / Linux 5.14.5-rockchip64 has now moved the "wired ..." file to the /run/NetworkManager/system-connections/ and suspect the file is recreated at every boot (edits do not stick). Hello everyone, due to a project I'm working with the Friendly Elec Nanopi R4S board for which I've to use the i2c bus to read data from a sensor. Unfortunately I've not been able to access it, since the system does not recognize it. I tried with different configurations using the /boot/armbianEnv.txt file with no results, however the i2c ports are enabled. To rule out functionality problems in the sensor, I connected it to other boards (e.g. nanopi Neo3 using Armbian) without problems. Do you have any idea what could be the cause of this problem? Thanks!

  52. Hello! First, and foremost, how issue looks like: https://imgur.com/a/ZrPUi9t Initially I noticed this issue with Dell UP3017 (2560x1600) on Libre Computer ROC-RK3399-PC (post). However later I noticed this on fresh Armbian installations on NanoPC-T4 too (post). Later on I found that old Armbian installations on NanoPC-T4 is unaffected, probably because of older uboot (something from last Armbian 5.xx days) that already flashed on eMMC. Yesterday I compared a couple of old Armbian images (initially that was posted here) Armbian_20.05.7_Nanopct4_focal_current_5.4.49.img - issue is not reproducible, Armbian_20.08.2_Nanopct4_focal_current_5.8.6.img …

  54. Hi everyone. I’ve been facing some issues with my RockPro64 lately, running on a dedicated version of Ambian for this sbc. Earlier, I was using a USB Bluetooth module with it for playing audio on my speakers (via Logitech Bluetooth adapter), and it worked perfectly fine. I wanted to save some USB ports so I decided to replace the module with a ROCKPro64 1*1 Dual Band WIFI 802.11 AC/BLUETOOTH 5.0 MODULE. But ever since I’ve done that, the audio quality is choppy and inconsistent. Receiver and transmitter are located closely, so I don’t think it’s a signal issue. It seems like a hardware or a software issue, but I’m not sure what could it be. I’d appreciate any help with …

  56. Hello, I own a RockPro64 and I'm using Armbian Legacy Buster 4.4.213-rockchip64. Everything mostly works, although I've had a pretty annoying issue. Reboot just doesn't work. Every time I do a 'sudo reboot' (or any equivalent for that matter, as for example 'sudo shutdown -r now') it doesn't work. Although it apparently reboots, the TV monitor to which my box it's connected via HDMI lose connection and all, nothing actually happens. Both the red and the white leds of the RP64 turn on and keep on all time (instead of just one of them blinking, as expected) and then it will work only if I poweroff and on again, either by unplugging the power cable or…

I am using bluez and bluealsa. The problem is specific to the onboard bluetooth, using an external bluetooth dongle (a cheap and old CSR Bluetooth 3.0 dongle from China) works as expected, I can even send audio to multiple devices simultaneously (quality is very bad, but thats a bandwidth problem). The only 2020.07 combo I've gotten to boot is the Tinker with the non-eMMC supporting u-boot. As for clues, I haven't found any, the u-boot source code is of course very well organized for debugging purposes . 95. Hello people, I use a Tinker Board as a low power desktop computer for browsing, office documents and general tinkering, and after all this time it got personalized enough to worry about loosing all this setup and it is a hassle to just overwrite everything every time a new image comes around. Was wondering if it is possible to use apt dist-upgrade as means to get from Bionic Desktop 5.4 to Focal Desktop 5.4 as can be done on x86 platforms without breaking everything?

  96. However, Armbian is configured to provide only spidev2.0, while TinkerOS can have spidev0.0, spidev0.1, spidev2.0 and spidev2.1 all enabled at the same time as long as you disable UART4 which shares GPIO header pins with SPI0. In the TinkerOS case, there is a config tool which edits a small and straightforward text file in /boot/ containing lines such as "intf:spi0=on" or "intf:uart4=off". The corresponding Armbian file seems to be /boot/armbianEnv.txt - possibly with overlays=... lines and DTS files. There also is a tool called armbian-add-overlay to load (at runtime?) DTS files...
