I tested the latest available Armbian image (minimal installation) on my odroid C2 via SD card. have available an 16gb hardkernel emmc card on which I had ubuntu 20.04 installed and running. But by burning the image with etcher (the same procedure as with the SD image) the odroid is unable to boot. Black screen, solid red led, and nothing else. I waited more than 30 seconds, I tried to disconnect keyboard....I waited more than 30 seconds, I tried to disconnect keyboard I have repeated the procedure through the SD and it works correctly. Hello, I was running OpenMediaVault on Armbian Buster some time ago and after an update (I suppose) the system would not boot normally anymore. Had to move places shortly after that, so the board stayed in a box for about a year and now I would like to put it back into service. A Bullseye image is required for OMV 6, so I went to the website and downloaded the latest image for my Odroid N2 board : Armbian_23.02.2_Odroidn2_bullseye_current_6.1.11.img.xz I then flashed the 16GB eMMC and plugged it in ... no boot (fixed red led / no network) If I do the same with an SDCard, it boots up normally (blinking blue led / working SSH) …

Hi Everyone, I'm trying to get audio out of my N2+ via SPDIF on the 7 pin header, or any gpio pin if necessary. So far I have confined my SPDIF output works with the official Odroid MATE image, and also that I can get audio out via the 3.5mm jack on armbian after flowing this post . I have tried to understand the amixer wizardry but no luck achieving anything so am a bit stuck as I would really like to use armbian over the Odroid image. Thanks for any help!

I'm trying to complete the installation of Armbian onto the HC4 (HC4-P if that changes anything). With a fresh SD card I run sudo dd if=Armbian_22.11.1_Odroidhc4_bullseye_current_5.19.17.img of=/dev/sdb status=progress plug in the card to the board, plug in the ethernet cable, hold down the boot switch, and plug it into power. It all seems to run correctly: I can SSH into the board and I complete the initial steps to set-up the installation (root pass, default shell, username, real name, and locale). However it does not seem as I can access the SPI FLASH device. Running the following commands from the HC4 page do not work as there are no mt…

I'm testing the Armbian image for Odroid N2+ ( Armbian_22.08.7_Odroidn2_jammy_current_5.19.17_xfce_desktop) to see if it's a good migration path from the HardKernel base image. Unfortunately I need to get both i2c bus running on the GPIO and so far only the first bus seems to work (i2c-0). Hi, I'm trying to use an external RTC clock (https://www.hardkernel.com/shop/rtc-shield/, battery is good) connected over I2C to wakeup the Odroid HC4 from poweroff (or if not possible from disk-suspend). To my surprise the rtc was already recognised (and also the device tree seems good) and I'm able to communicate with it, read it and set alarms for it. However, whenever I poweroff the device and try to turn on again it does not power on by itself (neither from poweroff, nor from disk suspend). Output from /proc/driver/rtc: rtc_time : 19:16:28 rtc_date : 2023-03-29 alrm_time : 19:07:00 alrm_date : 2023-04-29 alarm_IRQ : no alrm_pending : no upd…

I want to use a StromPi3 board with my lepotato board. I am using the armbian image. I used armbian-config to enable the serial ports and both show up as /dev/TTYAML0 and /dev/ttyAML6. Hello, I’m in a pickle. I bought an Odroid HC4 a few months ago, setup a RAID-1 array and installed Nextcloud on it. At the time, I used `nand-sata-install` to move the system from the SD‑card to a partition of one of the HDD (/dev/sda1), out of RAID (/dev/md0), and leave the bootloader on the SD-card. I did not make a backup of this SD-card and, after rebooting today, I realised the SD-card was not functioning any more. No device I use (Sansa audio player with Rockbox, phone with Ubuntu Touch, Laptop with Ubuntu) would even detect it. I was thinking of using `nand-sata-install` again to only update the bootload…

Hi there! I've installed Armbian 23.02.0 Jammy on my Banana Pi M5. And I'm using 3.5" display with HDMI interface. The screen has a native 480x320 resolution, but accept a range from 640x480 to 1920x1080. On resolutions over 800x480 is not readable, so I'm able to change resolution with the following line in /boot/armbianEnv.txt extraargs=video=HDMI-A-1:800x480M@87 fbcon=rotate:0 with lower resolutions 800x480 to 640x480 (60 to 87hz) the screen has an offset down of one character line so ther's a blank line up and I don't see login and shell input command down. Looking at 16:9 resolutions I see all the text with the minimum of 896…

Hello all! I have an ODROID-C2 that I am trying to use with a GPS connected over UART for timing purposes, which requires the use of pps. Based on my searching and reading in this forum, I have determined that for my OS and kernel (Focal, 5.9.14) I should be able to do so by adding overlay=pps-gpio to armbianEnv.txt. What is not clear to me, however, is how to specify which pin to use! In this thread I see windysea said: But I don't know how to use this information! I have found no documentation on param_pps_*, and my attempts at guessing based on information from other threads and resources have failed to work so far. I have been fiddling…

Hello, The mission: to change display resolution for "None-1" ('unknown display') - when no physical screen/display/monitor is attached. Machine: Banana Pi M5 (Bpi M5). I use it as a headless machine (without any monitor connected) and access it via a remote control/share screen application (such as: Teamviewer). The problem: the display is very small as the resolution is set to 720 X 576. I couldn't find any way or method to define/change the resolution in such a case. How can this be done? I'll appreciate any assistance you can provide. Thanks in advance! This is the information of the machine and Armbian version installed…

As the original thread, which was closed by moderator for obvious reason, did attract attention of few peoples having the same problem as me, it would be a waste not to follow up on this, I think. Hello, I've got a Le Potato, and a Tritium (I like the Tritium better, but I "feel" that Le Potato is a little bit quicker for longer). I've had them for about a week, I am a daily *nix user, and run several RBPi's around my home - 3D printers, Motion Cameras, Christmas Lights, and one is even a back up web server. My notebook runs Arch, my server runs Gentoo, and my workstation usually runs RebornOS or ZeroArch depending on my mood). When I started using these Libre Boards, I was happily impressed but using them as a desktop (my intention is/was to get my kids a 3D printer, and use these to do double duty as slicers, and basic desktops (I've got a…

Hi have two N2s (an N2+ and N2). Both are connected to a Viewsonic 2560x1440 2 HDMI ports monitor where they both work well. When I connect both systems to the monitor via the KVM I only get a picture from the Ubuntu system. The Armbian system is always black. Can I force the kernel/firmware to be 2560x1440x60hz. Hi everyone, I'm using Radxa Zero HW version 1.4, 4GB RAM with 64GB eMMC. I used long time armbian on SD card. I decided to install MMC for better performance but armbian crashes APT involving stuffs. By the way, I'm using Rzero with headless and connecting via SSH from Win11 machine. I installed with producer tools directly writing image to MMC and alternatively installed with armbian-config tool from SD card to MMC. In both way successfully boots and connects Wi-Fi. For better diagnostic, how can I get error dump? (I lost SSH connection when its crushed).

Hi guys, My N2+ just arrived and I was able to install a Debian Bookworm (EDGE) image I built onto it (both to a SD card and an EMMC card) The selector switch is set to boot from MMC. Armbian fires up nice from the SD card but it does not boot from the EMMC. I can see the Drive with fdisk so I guess I need to copy the boot image onto it. (Its /dev/zram1) This is the first step towards building a PREEMPT_RT image so I was excited to see it sorta works! Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Hey, I have a very similar problem here to this and this thread. I rebooted as the HC4 was already bugging me for a while to reboot on the motd (unattended-upgrades). Since the reboot, /dev/sdb is gone. It's a new Samsung SSD 870 EVO as well as in the other thread. The other (still running) one is a new Crucial MX500. I tried several Armbian kernels but no change. I went back to 5.10.57-meson64. There are no obviously burnt components on the device. There seem quite a few people with this problem. Any ideas? Thanks a lot! P.S. TP10 and TP11 are at 12V.

Hi, This is my first try to add a board to armbian build system. I got a BPI M2S since several months, but only had time recently to investigate on this promising SBC. I made a PR here, if somebody wants to try it: https://github.com/armbian/build/pull/4597 The main improvements are to be done for the dts file, since I'm not an expert about such file definition. Only 1 ethernet of the Gbit ports is working, since I copy the config from vim3 that share the same hardware for it. I didn't try to customize u-boot and I use the one for radxa zero2 that works to launch armbian on the board. armbianmonitor -u is here: https://paste.armbian.co…

Hi everyone! For about a week now, I have been using armbian 22.11.1 on my new Odroid HC4, which is my Nextcloud server. As alway, armbian is rock solid 😉 I have just a little question: Can one modify the information presented in htop? I'd like to have "CPU temperature" and "TX today" (meaning sent bytes) showing. The welcome screen already shows "CPU temperature" and "RX today". I know that the CPU temperature can be read here /etc/armbianmonitor/datasources/soctemp and but I can't find it in the htop-configuration under "available meters".

I have a bunch of these boards and a few friends that would like to use them. I am having problems getting UART on the GPIO to work even using Libre Computers Wiring tool. Is there any info on getting Armbian Device Tree Overlay to work with the potato? I really need UART on the GPIO. CAN0 would be a very helpful creature comfort but if i cannot get UART to work properly i have extremely dwindling odds of getting CAN0 to function properly. Any info that can point me in the right direction is welcome.

Hi there, I have two Le Potatos, one for each of my boys. One of them has Raspbian OS on it and the other has Armbian. What we have found is that the one with Raspbian is able to run Scratch (https://scratch.mit.edu/), but the one that I have loaded with Armbian gives an error that says that WebGL is not working properly on Chromium. On Firefox I don't get an error, but Scratch doesn't work right. I purchased these on the same day, so as far as I know, the hardware should be the same. USB gadget mode does currently not work OOTB on Armbian, but it can be enabled easily with a device tree change or overlay: /dts-v1/; /plugin/; / { compatible = "radxa, zero", "amlogic,g12a"; fragment@0 { target = <&usb>; __overlay__ { dr_mode = "otg"; }; }; }; I can open a PR for adding this as device tree overlay, or enabling OTG OOTB on Radxa Zero, like vendor did: https://github.com/radxa/kernel/commit/775a467 The latter would be simple. In case of an overlay, I'd need some hint about how to do it best: Adding it to the general meson64 overlays patch seems to be right: https://github.com/armbian/build/blob/master/p…

Khadas VIM1S is an upcoming low-profile single board computer powered by an Amlogic S905Y4 quad-core Cortex-A35 processor that’s meant to provide an upgrade to the Amlogic S905X-powered Khadas VIM SBC introduced in 2016, and since then renamed to Khadas VIM1. Khadas has been teasing two new SBCs: the low-end Khadas VIM1S with S905Y4 SoC, and the most powerful Khadas Edge2 board equipped with a Rockchip RK3588S octa-core Cortex-A76/A55 processor. I have received both as you can clearly see from the photo above :), but I’m only allowed to write about information available publicly at this time, so today I’ll introduce the Khadas VIM1S which looks just like the VIM1 board. I am trying to use the s905x on the Le Potato board to encode a 1080p video to stream via RTSP. Using software, the video is encoded anywhere in between the 5-7fps range. I want to use the hardware encoder that is available on the chip but I haven't been able to find any libraries that let me use the hardware on this specific board. I have tried installing the Mali-450 GPU drivers here (https://wiki.debian.org/MaliGraphics) but no luck.

Hi guys I'm new to this type of computer. I recently got the Le Potato and have tried flashing the armbian package for it with USBimager and Balena and still get no boot. I was able to use the Raspberry PI imager and got Raspbian installed. I'm not sure what exactly is going wrong. I am using a Sandisk Extreme V1 32g but was able to get raspbian on a Samsung Evo select 256g.

Been using the Lepotato with Armbian fine for a few weeks. Typically accessing via ssh over the network, suddenly after a reboot, it's not appearing on my network, solid red light, solid green light, and a blue heartbeat as well as the NIC light blinking as if network connection is functioning normally, but my network is not assigning an IP address and the potato isnt sending any packets. What might the problem be here? HDMI shows no output, using Armbian Jammy made for the tato.

Hi, We're swapping the Khadas Fenix 4.9 and uboot v2015-01?? for the Armbian 5.10.y and corresponding mainline u-boot. In the "legacy" version we were able to use the u-boot script (then a dedicated boot.ini) for setting a gpio pin low like this gpio clear GPIOH_4 Unfortunately Armbian's mainline u-boot version does not recognize GPIOH_4 as a valid gpio pin name. Hi there, yesterday I tried to use nand install skript tool to move the content from my sd card on odroid n2 to emmc card for booting and using emmc card only. The process itself worked and the content of the sd cards was moved, but after unplugging sd card and plugging emmc card the boot process is not starting and nothing is shown on the hdmi monitor. I compared the /boot filesystems and both are identically. I checked the "armbianEnv.txt" file and it is ok for the new uuid of the emmc card. Everything seems to be identically but why is it not booting. Does someone have a hint what to check additionally what is maybe missing at beginning of the boot process.…

I've been trying to enable SPI on the board but have had no luck in this. I noticed that in the armbian-config there is no spi option. I have edited the armbianEnv.txt file to include orerlays = spi-spidev param_spidev_spi_bus = 0 I've tried changing the bus to 1 None of these actions have helped. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi I had to upgrade my Odroid N2 from Armbian Buster to Armbian Bullseye to run newer versions of Nextcloudpi (24.x). So I did the upgrade by writing the Armbian 22.05 version to the eMMC and started Armbian. Works fine. Then I installed a fresh nextcloudpi (23.0.2) which is the same version I used on Armbian Buster. Works fine. I added the external disks (ncdata und ncbackup). After a restore of my nextcloudpi backup everything was well. But the next reboot did nothing, i.e. no output on the HDMI Interface, nothing. So, I did a power-off and looked at the eMMC via a Micro-SD adapter I have. Of course, no logs, nothing. …

Hi! You can find the armbianmonitor output attached to this thread. The issue is: when I use HDMI audio output with wine applications the entire system freezes very soon, usually after some seconds from the launch of the application. Everything works fine if I use some bluetooth headphones. And everything works fine if I use HDMI audio output with linux native applications. The problem is in the combination of Wine applications and HDMI audio output. Armbian Monitor Out…

I was able to do it with Ubuntu Mate (from the HC4 webpage) on the same hardware, so I'm pretty sure it's possible on Armbian. To be fair, the ProtonVPN website says that raspbian is not supported (and I assume they meant to say ARM) but I have been able to get it to work on Mate, and the problem on Armbian seems to be the Public Key and nothing else. After installation, the app will start, but won't work, so some successful compiling for ARM seems to be happening. What I did: - Downloaded the deb file for Debian based stable release - Tried GDebi and Apt, but dpkg wo…

First off, could someone please help. I did not seem to be able to create this topic without a tag and the only tag it would accept was "solved". Wondering if somebody could remove the "solved" tag and add in "odroidhc4"? I purchased a brand new odroid hc4 board with the intention of installing armbian and then subsequently OMV. My intention was/is to install Armbian on a MicroSD card. On the downloader page I read that in order to clean boot Armbian the incompatible Petit bootloader needs to be removed. I tried the bootloader bypass (preferred) method and that didn't seem to work for me. The board still seemed to go to the petitboot UI. …

Hi all. I've recently received the Odroid N2+. Since nobody else started a topic about it, I'll be the one. All works fine with Armbian since not much hardware changes have been made vs the N2. With Armbian the max clocks are 2Ghz for all cores. Using Armbian Focal 4.9 legacy. I tried setting the higher values in config.ini. Also tried with the "meson64_odroidn2_plus.dtb" file from the Odroid Ubuntu. Doesn't boot with that. (What do I know ) Other changes are the RTC b…

Hi, I installed/compiled different browsers that are based on QT (QtWebKit, QtWebEngine). Unfortunately, special characters, often necessary for typing in non-English languages, do not work. E.g. a Spanish accented 'e appears as 00e9 This makes all these really fast browsers with low memory footprint useless for multilanguage writing (e.g. in webmailers). The characters work fine in the terminal and other browsers such as Midori, Firefox and Chromium. Thus, I think, something went wrong in the compilation of QT libraries. Any idea how to solve that?
