  1. Hello, I have tried Bullseye CLI image 30nov from https://www.armbian.com/bananapi-m5/ flashed with etcher to ensure integrity on sdcard sandisk A1 64G It appears that it loops in /scripts/local-block giving up to mount armbian root even with correct UUID why does it loop like this?

  3. So far I've tried several images, just wanted to update what has and hasn't worked. I know the rz isn't officially supported but I thought I'd give my feedback and maybe it will help someone. All images were written to emmc after first using the radxa-zero-erase-emmc.bin tool to erase and mount emmc as USB storage. 4. Hi all How can I enable the rtc clock in the Odroid HC4? I know nothing about device tree and overlays, but the Hardkernel Ubuntu image has an overlay to enable: wiki. I didn't find anything similar in the armbian image. Could be related to this this PR for the N2 model? Thanks

  5. Armbian_23.11.1_Odroidn2_bookworm_current_6.1.63.img.xz was downloaded and flashed to SD card. System booted OK from the SD card and successfully started the OS. Then I used armbian-config to write the root file system to an SSD. After reboot, the system appears to get through the boot stage OK. It also proceeds to start up the OS OK, but then services fail to start. Further action stops temporarily, but pressing the escape key or a function key makes the screen go black for a second or so, returning with what's shown in the last image. No other keys have any ef…

  6. Using kernel 4.14.65, I get a usb-driver crash when accessing the top left port (topmost, nearest the ethernet port) of the Le potato. Plugging any device into this port results in the following kernel message and prevents the use of usb until reboot. There is no kernel stacktrace. 7. I was trying Jammy (autobuild) with kerenl 5.15.18 on Khadas Vim3 4GB RAM, but is does not start, no HDMI output, no LED activity. Then I tried Hirsute with kerenl 5.13 and that boots fine, but after update new kernel (5.15) and also u-boot is installed and then it does not start again. My solution for now is to boot Hirsute with 5.13 and replace all edge packages with current (linux-dtb-current-meson64, linux-image-current-meson64, and linux-u-boot-khadas-vim3-current). This downgrades the kernel to 5.10.81, but the board can be updated and boots fine.

  8. I can not reiterate enough just how easy it is to "clone" your modified emmc, or microSD card OS, ... into an image file that you can easily restore with (balena)Ethcher afterwards, and all withiin Linux. 1:/ you'll need a USB-card-reader-adapter. 2:/ no matter how your USB-reader card reader sees your emmc, microSD card, ..., it'll most likely be mounted on a /dev/sda1 partition. 3:/ sudo dd bs=4M if=/dev/sda of=~/tmp/armbian_odroidc4_11_01_2025.img (you don't dd the partition, you dd the drive). 4:/ (optionally) sudo xz -v armbian_odroidc4_11_01_2025.img (this will take some time). ...and that's it, ... and you know the rest.

I have a brand new VIM4 NPU bare board in fanless aluminum case with power supply and Khadas cable. Khadas Ubuntu versions with gnome desktop work perfectly without any slowdown in both emmc and sd version but armbian desktops do not work! Only xfce (via oowow or latest armbian.com version) launches after several minutes but then presents slowdowns. All versions with cinnamon (oblique lines) and gnome (armbian logo) freeze after launching the desktop environment whether with an installation on emmc sd or usb… No problems with server versions, only desktop versions… I wonder if it is the fact of not having a fan and/or the NPU chip that makes the Armbian desktops…

Strangely enough that this happens only shortly after switching on. But if I cut the Power or reboot then it will run 24 hours or longer. Haven't tested more than 24 h. I recognize that late that I could switch to other terms i.e. term 1. At first I thought that the N2+ was under powered and tried another PSU but later I saw that only X window system on term 7 has crashed. Music per bluetooth continued playing. What I did was making updates before it happening.

  18. Hi guys. I'm the maintainer for the Khadas VIM3. There are 2 small issue's with the Armbian images for VIM3, and also for VIM2. armbianmonitor -u http://ix.io/46L9 First off, the VIM3 has all its cores clocked to 1.5Ghz by default. I created a Jira for that a while ago. https://armbian.atlassian.net/browse/AR-1094 My simple fix is in /etc/default/cpufrequtils MAX_SPEED=15xxxxxxx → MAX_SPEED=2400000 But I have no idea how/where to adjust this so it is correct for all VIM3 images. Then for VIM2 and VIM3 (maybe VIM3L and VIM1 too) the HDMI audio isn't working as it should. https://armbian.atlassian.net/browse/AR-1095 I once was…

Hi there, I have two Le Potatos, one for each of my boys. One of them has Raspbian OS on it and the other has Armbian. What we have found is that the one with Raspbian is able to run Scratch (https://scratch.mit.edu/), but the one that I have loaded with Armbian gives an error that says that WebGL is not working properly on Chromium. On Firefox I don't get an error, but Scratch doesn't work right. I purchased these on the same day, so as far as I know, the hardware should be the same. Is there a way to enable WebGL on Armbian so that my boys can use Scratch on this system? In case it helps: https://paste.armbian.com/wepugikade

  24. I've tried shutdown -h now, poweroff, shutdown -h, all results in a reboot instead of shutdown. I've searched and haven't found a solution, just other people with the same problem. I'm running "Armbian_24.2.1_Lepotato_bookworm_current_6.6.16_cinnamon_desktop.img", has anyone found a solution to this problem? I tried raspbian on the le potato and that will shut down but gives me other issues when installing openhabian. Armbian just seems to work otherwise but I'd like a clean way to shutdown when needed so I don't risk corrupting my sd card.

  46. Hi, everybody, I have 2 M5 one running Debian Server and one running ubuntu Desktop. Both images downloaded from BPI site and Installed on EMMC. I want to replace these OS with armbian server. I tried armbian v6.12 (Ubuntu KDE 24.04, Ubuntu Server 24.04 and Minimal IOT). None of them boot from SD card. The Ubuntu 20.4 image downloaded from BPI site boot well from SD card. I have restored the original Android image with Amlogic burnin tool on one M5 and Armbian don't boot from SD but the ubuntu 20.4 from BPI site works well. I don't known what to do ? Thank's in advance

Odroid-C2 (there was no adequate tag) After I upgraded my ssd install from 23.11.1 to 24.2.1, the board didn't boot. When starting 24.2.1 from a fresh sd card, usb and disk leds are on, and the board boots. But they don't show in lsusb. If I reconnect them after the board is booted, the leds stay off (and obviously they don't show in lsusb). Of course, booting from external ssd stops at some point, because usb is lost during the boot (when connecting a display, the failures start to happen on armbian services). Had to restore previous release 23.11.1 from backup on my ssd. Everything works again.

  49. Hey, I have a very similar problem here to this and this thread. I rebooted as the HC4 was already bugging me for a while to reboot on the motd (unattended-upgrades). Since the reboot, /dev/sdb is gone. It's a new Samsung SSD 870 EVO as well as in the other thread. The other (still running) one is a new Crucial MX500. I tried several Armbian kernels but no change. I went back to 5.10.57-meson64. There are no obviously burnt components on the device. There seem quite a few people with this problem. Any ideas? Thanks a lot! P.S. TP10 and TP11 are at 12V.

The problem is when I try to install Armbian on SD card - using BalenaEtcher on Windows / Disk tool on Ubuntu Mate: - the m2s either doesn't boot (when Armbian is written on emmc memory) - or m2s boots from emmc storage (when Armbian is written on SD Card) SD card has boot priority over emmc and works fine with official .img from bananapi. Device trees for other boards sometimes enable UART A in the base device tree but the ODROID N2/N2+ does not. 76. See https://github.com/canonical/netplan/pull/456#discussion_r1569065581 The way the netplan + networkd integration is designed requires all the network devices (wlan0 in particular) to exist at /sbin/init time - otherwise, the netplan generator disables `systemd-networkd-wait-online.service` which also causes `network-online.target` to be reached early. In particular, this breaks any network FS mounts on boot. Of note, I tried logging in to file the bug via the dev contribution platform, but it looks I'm blocked from JIRA access, so am filing it here instead.

See this forum entry from 2021: I am facing the same issue with Armbian 26.2.1 Minimal dmesg shows the following: [ 0.000000] Kernel command line: root=UUID=c8906fe5-129c-4388-840c-58c43c541176 rootwait rootfstype=ext4 splash=verbose console=ttyAML0,115200 console=tty1 consoleblank=0 coherent_pool=2M loglevel=1 ubootpart=001c9d62-01 libata.force=noncq usb-storage.quirks= cgroup_enable=memory with the following in /boot/armbianEnv.txt: verbosity=1 console=both overlay_prefix=meson rootdev=UUID=c8906fe5-129c-…

  95. Hello, yesterday I have done apt autoremove linux-buster-root-current-odroidn2 on my odroid N2+ and I have done this to my XU4 too ( like i gor said so. During the night my N2+ crashed (no more blue light). These mornig the restart of the N2+ was OK and the bord works well. But the output of armbianmonitor -u (http://ix.io/3nIf) show : "[ 0.000000] [Firmware Bug]: Kernel image misaligned at boot, please fix your bootloader!". Two questions : 1) Is it OK to do, on a N2+, apt autoremove linux-buster-root-current-odroidn2 like I have done ? 2) What I have to do with this message of error "[ 0.000000] [Fi…

  96. I have a Le Potato running raspbian bullseye. I'm having real trouble with remote access. I can ssh into the Le Potato but cannot get VNC to work. I have used VNC successfully on 5 Pi's over the years so do have experience. Any hints or links to help would be appreciated. I have looked at pi and potato forums to no avail. Thanks.

  97. First off, could someone please help. I did not seem to be able to create this topic without a tag and the only tag it would accept was "solved". Wondering if somebody could remove the "solved" tag and add in "odroidhc4"? I purchased a brand new odroid hc4 board with the intention of installing armbian and then subsequently OMV. My intention was/is to install Armbian on a MicroSD card. On the downloader page I read that in order to clean boot Armbian the incompatible Petit bootloader needs to be removed. I tried the bootloader bypass (preferred) method and that didn't seem to work for me. The board still seemed to go to the petitboot UI. …
