See https://github.com/canonical/netplan/pull/456#discussion_r1569065581 The way the netplan + networkd integration is designed requires all the network devices (wlan0 in particular) to exist at /sbin/init time - otherwise, the netplan generator disables `systemd-networkd-wait-online.service` which also causes `network-online.target` to be reached early. In particular, this breaks any network FS mounts on boot. Of note, I tried logging in to file the bug via the dev contribution platform, but it looks I'm blocked from JIRA access, so am filing it here instead.

First off, could someone please help. I did not seem to be able to create this topic without a tag and the only tag it would accept was "solved". Wondering if somebody could remove the "solved" tag and add in "odroidhc4"? I purchased a brand new odroid hc4 board with the intention of installing armbian and then subsequently OMV. My intention was/is to install Armbian on a MicroSD card. On the downloader page I read that in order to clean boot Armbian the incompatible Petit bootloader needs to be removed. I tried the bootloader bypass (preferred) method and that didn't seem to work for me. The board still seemed to go to the petitboot UI. …

I've been trying this all day and I can't get it to work for me (focal mainline kernel 5.6.y) - I can start on sdd, change hostname, make it a static ip, reboot - works fine. As soon as I try to nand-sata-install and boot from sdd + system on usb it just disappears after the reboot. Pity, works fine with the legacy.

I think it would make sense to rename the forum section here from "Amlogic S905(x)" to "Amlogic". It would make much more sense for me to talk here for example about the Armbian port of the Odroid C0/C1/C1+ (Amlogic S805) then in any other forum section.

I have a Le Potato running raspbian bullseye. I'm having real trouble with remote access. I can ssh into the Le Potato but cannot get VNC to work. I have used VNC successfully on 5 Pi's over the years so do have experience. Any hints or links to help would be appreciated. I have looked at pi and potato forums to no avail. Thanks.

I have some Banana PI M2 Pro, and I have successfully booted CoreElec, even I managed to copy the whole system to emmc, but I can't boot a SD with Armbian. For coreelec, I erased the emmc using the Image burning tool and a usb cable. Android boots up normally and I execute reboot update and the SD with coreelec boots up correctly. For armbian, I insert the SD card formated with Armbian_24.11.1_Bananapim2pro_bookworm_current_6.6.61_minimal.img and Android boots up, next, I execute "reboot update" and Android shows a error page. Attached there is a serial log, the one from coreelec is from cold boot to coreelec using a SD card, without ne…

I have been trying to get more than one Le Potato to work in my network I have one 1G RAM version and two 2G RAM versions. Hello! I have installed on Armbian 24.8.1 noble (ubuntu 24.04) . Also I have enabled "UARTa" , "UARTc" in armbian-config utility. In /boot/armbianEnv.txt file: overlays=uartA uartC for enable UART port. There are many files /dev/ttyS[0-7] exists. After this I try connected to this ports, but no success (minicom -D /dev/ttySx). Python sripts with pyserial module output: "i/o error". The same problem I have noticed with previous versions of Armbian. If I connected the serial port with my device through GPIO pin 8 and 10 (UART_AO_A_TXD, UART_AO_A_RXD), the Radxa Zero with " Armbian 23.02.2 Jammy" failed to boot. If I removed my device from the serial port, zero can boot. After booting, I connected my device to the UART port, it worked well through /dev/ttyAML0. Any suggestions? Many thanks!

Title says it all.... Installed the latest on download for Le Potato today and so far I've found 2 issues... 1. On first boot, text was cropped left and bottom, had to press enter a couple of times to get the prompt to show at least so I could make the right selections. 2. After it booted, jumped right on to Chromium and was super laggy. Installed Firefox as an alternative but it's still kinda laggy while loading page, but it works great after page loads. I would like to have Chromium instead though. PRO: My rtl8821CU which was not working on any distro of Le Potato is finally working. I'm guessing it's a Kernel issue? This has kernel …

TL;DR Where in armbian build system correctly can be make N2-only related changes: 1. /boot ext4 volume have to have symlink . as boot, can be created with command ln -s ./ boot 2. kernel env variable set in boot.ini contain part but it shouldn't. This substring need to be removed if btrfs choosen. 3. /boot ext4 partition have only 4 MB free. I am not sure but think it's too small; for example there no space to run update-initramfs -u. I think it should be larger, like 500 MB. Long: I want to run my oDroid-N2 with root on BTRFS filesystem. I use manual on armbian image build and did time ./compile.sh BOARD=odroidn2 BRANCH=cur…

I am trying to use Le Potato OTG port in a device mode (connected it to the host through powered USB hub). DWC2, which I am used to from RPi Zero is missing, but I guess it's because there is a DWC3. Should I somehow reconfigure DWC3 to operate OTG in a peripheral mode? # lsusb -tv /: Bus 02.Port 1: Dev 1, Class=root_hub, Driver=xhci-hcd/0p, 5000M /: Bus 01.Port 1: Dev 1, Class=root_hub, Driver=xhci-hcd/2p, 480M |__ Port 1: Dev 2, If 0, Class=Hub, Driver=hub/4p, 480M |…

USB gadget mode does currently not work OOTB on Armbian, but it can be enabled easily with a device tree change or overlay: /dts-v1/; /plugin/; / { compatible = "radxa, zero", "amlogic,g12a"; fragment@0 { target = <&usb>; __overlay__ { dr_mode = "otg"; }; }; }; I can open a PR for adding this as device tree overlay, or enabling OTG OOTB on Radxa Zero, like vendor did: https://github.com/radxa/kernel/commit/775a467 The latter would be simple. In case of an overlay, I'd need some hint about how to do it best: Adding it to the general meson64 overlays patch seems to be right: https://github.com/armbian/build/blob/master/p…

I am trying to use the s905x on the Le Potato board to encode a 1080p video to stream via RTSP. Using software, the video is encoded anywhere in between the 5-7fps range. I want to use the hardware encoder that is available on the chip but I haven't been able to find any libraries that let me use the hardware on this specific board. I have tried installing the Mali-450 GPU drivers here (https://wiki.debian.org/MaliGraphics) but no luck.

Hi, I'm trying to use an external RTC clock (https://www.hardkernel.com/shop/rtc-shield/, battery is good) connected over I2C to wakeup the Odroid HC4 from poweroff (or if not possible from disk-suspend). Hi, I've been using the /dev/ttyAML1 UART port on my Odroid N2+ at the GPIO pins 8 and 10 with buster. With the update to bullseye, the /dev/ttyAML1 device disappeared. Also now in bookworm it is no longer present. Now I happen to need the UART at GPIO 8 and 10 again and did some more persistent research and came across this post over in the DietPI forum. It provided an alternative meson-g12b-odroid-n2-plus.dtb which I installed in my system. Since then my /dev/ttyAML1 device is back and I can use the UART at GPIO 8 and 10 as I wished. However, I am a bit nervous, since I just installed some binary dtb file to my system at a path which …

I have a ToupTek MU300 USB2 camera that I was trying to get working with my LePotato. The camera does not have native kernel support, but the manufacturer provides an SDK with a pre-compiled lib for x86/arm, and additionally I have a kernel module which works on X86/X64 with this camera as well as userspace libusb based code to access the camera. The camera is very sensitive to having buffers available during bulk transfer, otherwise the image will be corrupted. Generally synchronous bulk transfer is not fast enough, and requires multiple buffers supplied in asynchronous mode. On x86-64 and Rpi3/4, everything works as expected. I can grab im…

I am wondering how to install this. I've installed armbian on a nanopc, and edge V which is now a brick after a brief use as an armbian machine. But never successfully to a vim 3. I have a fresh out of the box vim3 that fails on boot with the current image on sdcard. The first vim4 was a doorstop on arrival. I finally have a second vim 4 that does seem to work if I push the function button 3 times it goes to oowow. But so far nothing that I've read works to boot from sdcard. "Holding the function button while power on." I havent found any instructions here about an install process other than insert th…

Just a warning for everyone, the new kernel update (6.18.xx I think?) absolutely wrecks the system (atleast it does on Ubuntu Noble). It doesn't boot at all anymore I needed to recover an old kernel from an old backup I had and overwrite the current kernel from rescue mode/petitboot. Kernel 6.12.xx seems to work fine(ish) Just a heads up because I don't know enough to pinpoint the exact cause. p.s. for me the kernel means the files in /boot not sure if I used proper terminology

Hi have two N2s (an N2+ and N2). Both are connected to a Viewsonic 2560x1440 2 HDMI ports monitor where they both work well. One system (N2+) is running Ubuntu 22.04 the other is running Armbian jammy 22.04.01 Kernel 6.0.13 #22.11.2. I have purchased a ATEN CS22H 2 port HDMI/USB KIVM switch. When I connect both systems to the monitor via the KVM I only get a picture from the Ubuntu system. The Armbian system is always black. Can I force the kernel/firmware to be 2560x1440x60hz. I was looking at this post : Regarding forcing the kernel to be a fixed resolution but wasn't sure it was relevant. …

I have a Odroid C2 that was being used as a TV box with Coreelec, and has now been retired due to upgrade. I want to repurpose the C2 for a completely different role, so I am trying to install Armbian in it. I downloaded the Armbian image from here and followed the official install instructions, but the C2 refuses to boot. The red light turns on when powered but nothing more happens, no other lights, no screen, nothing. Coreelec was booting with no issue, so it must be something I'm setting wrong. Just in case I tried a different SD card and two different images, Bookworm minimal (the one I'm interested in) and Ubuntu Noble XFCE (just to test). Sam…

Hi guys, My N2+ just arrived and I was able to install a Debian Bookworm (EDGE) image I built onto it (both to a SD card and an EMMC card) The selector switch is set to boot from MMC. Armbian fires up nice from the SD card but it does not boot from the EMMC. I can see the Drive with fdisk so I guess I need to copy the boot image onto it. (Its /dev/zram1) This is the first step towards building a PREEMPT_RT image so I was excited to see it sorta works! Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Hey, I have a very similar problem here to this and this thread. I rebooted as the HC4 was already bugging me for a while to reboot on the motd (unattended-upgrades). Since the reboot, /dev/sdb is gone. It's a new Samsung SSD 870 EVO as well as in the other thread. The other (still running) one is a new Crucial MX500. I tried several Armbian kernels but no change. I went back to 5.10.57-meson64. There are no obviously burnt components on the device. There seem quite a few people with this problem. Any ideas? Thanks a lot! P.S. TP10 and TP11 are at 12V.

I have a bunch of these boards and a few friends that would like to use them. I am having problems getting UART on the GPIO to work even using Libre Computers Wiring tool. Is there any info on getting Armbian Device Tree Overlay to work with the potato? I really need UART on the GPIO. CAN0 would be a very helpful creature comfort but if i cannot get UART to work properly i have extremely dwindling odds of getting CAN0 to function properly. Any info that can point me in the right direction is welcome.

Hi I had to upgrade my Odroid N2 from Armbian Buster to Armbian Bullseye to run newer versions of Nextcloudpi (24.x). So I did the upgrade by writing the Armbian 22.05 version to the eMMC and started Armbian. Works fine. Then I installed a fresh nextcloudpi (23.0.2) which is the same version I used on Armbian Buster. Works fine. I added the external disks (ncdata und ncbackup). After a restore of my nextcloudpi backup everything was well. But the next reboot did nothing, i.e. no output on the HDMI Interface, nothing. So, I did a power-off and looked at the eMMC via a Micro-SD adapter I have. Of course, no logs, nothing. …

Hello folks. I am thinking about getting a VIM3 or VIM4 as a PC for computation purposes. I think Monero mining shows the limit of a combination of memory + cpu. I will be thankful if an owner can xmrig monero mining software to do a benchmark. So to do the benchmark one should: - Download xmrig - Run a benchmark and submit it: https://xmrig.com/docs/miner/benchmark The benchmark will be available in the benchmarks page in xmrig website. Hello everyone, I am trying to get a Bigtreetech PiTFT70 DSI screen working on my Banana Pi CM4 mounted on a Bigtreetech Manta M8P 3D printer control board. It is supposedly a clone of the Raspberry Pi 7inch DSI display and uses the same display and touch chips. The DSI port on the M8P is wired to DSI 1 port on the Bpi CM4. I have tried hacking together a device tree overlay for it but I don't know enough of what needs turning on and what addresses they require (i2c etc) to get it working.
