  1. Hi everyone, New to the forum, so apologies if the questions are answered elsewhere, but please redirect me if they are. I have identified a bug in the `armbian-install` script in the current Bullseye Edge image (Dec 19,2022) that prevents it showing NVMe targets in the installation prompt if they don't have a valid filesystem on them. This appears to have been fixed on the 19th of December in this commit (the grep for filesystems was removed from the lsblk command that returns valid partitions). https://github.com/armbian/build/commit/893ed2347d97af574becf69dee1166a1bf933081#diff-8752ea87e0340f217187b70f7b08735d872a14c0467d02a6285222e594db3299L63…

In order to enumerate the major issues that are *still* valid now, I'm creating a 'crash dump' thread. The idea is simple, if your RK3399 board crashed recently, you just : Write what happened during the crash; Provide the link you got from sudo armbianmonitor -u , after the crash happened; Provide the content of /var/log/kern.log (if this file is present on your system) (attach it or copy the content on pastebin and link it here). No discussion here. Feel free to create a new dedicated thread afterwards to talk about the problem you encountered. Minor issues are welcome too, if they trigger a BUG message in your logs…

I haven't tried Jammy with 6.1.43 but the kernel doesn't say rc anymore so curious of the status. How does this build compare in terms of feature and performance with 5.10? Is all the video decoding supported? The RK3588 Kernel support page says that hdmi audio is not supported - is that really the case? Is gnome/wayland supported? I see that only KDE is listed there.

  9. hai, im planning to upgrade my local media server to use an external hard drive attached using hard drive docking on USB 3.0 what I'm confused about is. what is the best FileSystem format for my hard drive? I'm not planning to unmount and use the hard drive to another PC (for example: windows PC) So I'm ready to format it with FileSystem that fully optimizes on Linux (I'm using armbian noble) so ext4 or xfs? I hear xfs is better for copying large file sizes. my casual use is downloading movies, and watching it on jellyfin. or maybe I'm just using ext4?

  10. Hi, I've been running Armbian legacy server on my 5+ for a month now. I had trouble initially with my EMMC not booting, but I discovered, I had to wipe the SPI Nor then using Armbian config to flash it, then write to EMMC. When a new version of Armbian comes out for the 5+ and it may be a 6.8 kernel build, will I need to re-flash the SPI before I can install the newer version of Armbian (or another image from that's not Armbian?) before updating the EMMC. 17. Have an incident where I tried installing a newer kernel in an nvme working setup and the device wont post. My original installation flash card is working but is giving me problems. So I got 2 others and attempted to boot new version of the image and Im getting no post. I was able to solve my original problem by installing a legacy version in flash and copying /boot over to nvme. I also attempted rebuilding the mme partitions with no success. But it seems that there is something not working right with kernel 6.7.

However, the kernel headers provided by the repository: linux-headers-rockchip64 - Linux kernel headers for 4.4.156-rockchip64 on arm64 do not match the kernel provided by the repository: linux-image-rockchip64 - Linux kernel, version 4.4.162-rockchip64 This is after updating the cache just now and yes, both packages are installed. Is there some way I can guarantee that the version of my installed kernel and headers always match (apart from compiling them myself)? There is no linux-image-next package for rockchip64 and I'm hesitant to install the nightly release.

  28. Hi all, looking for a bit of advise. I had an idea recently in that I have a problem of syncing a 20Tb USB 3.0 RAID0 drive with a 20Tb NAS. I have two fully duplicated RAID0 drives with no protection, so whenever I upgrade the capacity of a drive, I do a full sync. I do this maybe once a year. Whenever I have to do a full sync however it usually ties my MacBook up for a few weeks to transfer that much data over, so I had the idea recently of having a maker board do it since Linux/Armbian supports HFS+, I can just do an rsync between the two. I opted to purchase a Tinkerboard for the GigE Ethernet (I'll live with the USB 2.0), installed, up and running all…

  47. Hey guys, we are facing an issue we can not resolve ourselves so we are looking for some help on here... Our Rock Pi E does not restart successfully occasionally. Running the Rock Pi E with latest official Armbian with a USB soundcard attached. We are capturing audio and distribute the captured audio via "(c)VLC" via network. Since a few months we are facing reboot issues which are persistent but not easily reproducible. Whenever we reboot manually, everything works fine. When rebooting via cron it does often not reboot and get into a freeze state which makes it impossible to connect via SSH nor serial-adapter. We already tried switching the power so…

  58. I am experiencing an issue with my Rock Pi S. When using SPI1, I am not observing any CLK output signal on pin GPIO3_B3, which I have verified with an oscilloscope. Other signals such as MOSI, MISO, and CS are functioning correctly. I have found that this issue does not occur in the older kernel 4.4.143-65-rockchip-g58431d38f8f3. However, when using the latest Armbian 25.2.2 Bookworm Minimal / IOT image, this problem arises. Could someone please assist me in resolving this problem?

I wanted to save some USB ports so I decided to replace the module with a ROCKPro64 1*1 Dual Band WIFI 802.11 AC/BLUETOOTH 5.0 MODULE. But ever since I’ve done that, the audio quality is choppy and inconsistent. Receiver and transmitter are located closely, so I don’t think it’s a signal issue. It seems like a hardware or a software issue, but I’m not sure what could it be. I’d appreciate any help with …

There's an issue with Panfrost and Mesa 19.3 that causes X11 to crash in "OsLookupColor" which you may run into on Armbian on RK3399 devices; it can be solved by enabling the experimental branch in your /etc/apt/sources.list by adding the following line: deb http://deb.debian.org/debian experimental main contrib non-free You can then run 'apt update' and install experimental branch packages with 'apt -t experimental install <package>'. 100. Odroid M1 · Started by dondon,

Hello, running Armbian_22.11.2_Odroidm1_bullseye_edge_6.1.0.img.xz + updates. I saw in other post (/topic/17418-cameras-with-rock-pi-4-c/😞 But I do not see any Hardware menu in System. I had a look to armbian-config and saw that there is a lot of device-specific code and probably odroidm1 is not supported yet. Also I searched for some DTB that may work, but none is shipped with the current kernel: is empty. Should I add explicit support like in this patch: https://github.com/armbian/build/pull/1482/files? Or there are more modern way to add cold-pluggable hardware? Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
