  1. Folks, I've got an Orange pi 5 plus up and running using Armbian, I've used the minimal install and although it's been plain sailing for the main part, no matter what I do I can't work out how to give it a static IP address (dynamic works fine). I've spent an hour trying: armbian-config, - Network | IP | Static and setting it to what I want - it ignores it and when I go back in it's gone back to 127.0.0.1 This page: https://docs.armbian.com/User-Guide_Networking/ Creates the yaml file with my interface abd required address as here: GNU nano 7.2 /etc/netplan/20-static-ip.ya…

  4. Hi everyone, I just received an "orange pi 5 plus" and I wanted to use the hdmi-input feature in it. I installed armbian and added the hdmirx overlay, and now I can use ffmpeg or gstreamer to stream video input. Good. Alas, I see no alsa hdmi input card. I tried to search for some settings but didn't find any... I have a couple Orange Pi's, and the HDMI is broken. I noticed that many believe that it is Armbian, but it is not. Orange Pi's probably won't be where we want them until 2025. I found a couple notes from development teams, one below and one from September. Both say the same thing: essentially it's in the works: "The RK3588 SoC family integrates the newer Synopsys DesignWare HDMI 2.1 Quad-Pixel (QP) TX controller IP and a HDMI/eDP TX Combo PHY based on a Samsung IP block. Add just the basic support for now, i.e. RGB output up to 4K@60Hz, without audio, CEC or any of the HDMI 2.1 specific features." https://patchwork.kernel.org/project/linux-rockchip/pa…

  10. Hopefully this is not a stupid question but I came across Joshua-Riek/ubuntu-rockchip: Ubuntu for Rockchip RK35XX Devices (github.com) when searching for my video playback issues. Does anyone know how this compares with the current armbian release with vendor kernel? Are all the fixes from that release integrated in armbian or does it go the other way?

Additionally, when I go to armbian-config -> System -> Hardware, no hardware appears on the screen. Could this issue be related to the Armbian image I am using? 48. Has anyone made (or bought!) an adapter that takes the 3 pin TTL-level console port and converts it to a DB9 or RJ45 port that can mount in a PCI bracket? If so, what did you use? And what port did you use to power it as the console port does not provide a 3.3V or 5.5V pin for power (there is a pin labeled "RSV" which seems to supply 5V and may be usable but I don't know its capabilities). I've done this before for other systems using these without too much trouble but when I tried with this board it's not working. 49. Hello! I had an issue upgrading my khadas edge2 to the linux-image-edge-rockchip-rk3588 package (24.8.0-trunk.597) on the edge/rolling release image I had installed. The following seems to have allowed me to use apt install -f to get the kernel and initramfs files to be built and installed successfully. Probably the change in the symlink code was unnecessary, but I did both and got a bootable system out of it, so it's a bit late for me to test. I made the following changes to /usr/share/…

  55. Hi, Like the topic says, both NICs are underperforming, they are connected to a Gb switch which I use and benched with other machines, neither iperf nor iperf3 (threaded and not threaded) go higher than 700Mbps. Another server plugged on the same switch reaches Gb steadily. I applied CPU affinity so both IRQ's are handled by the A76 cores but it makes no difference. 56. Dear members, I was looking for a Noble Gnome-based image for NanoPi R4S, and only found one that is trunk-based, and had BIG RED letters stamped on it: DO NOT USE FOR PRODUCTION. Is there anything coming in that regard? Will we have a proper Noble Gnome-based release for NanoPi R4S? Thanks!

Everything works fine except the 4 hard drives that are connected to boards SATA connectors. They do appear and work when i boot into the Debian provided by Radxa, so I know hardware isn't an issue. 62. Hi all Cannot make usable wol on my orange pi 5 plus. Os: Armbian 24.5.1 Bookworm with Linux 6.1.75-vendor-rk35xx WOL tested in magic or unicast settings or all flags enabled (phy, unicast, multicast, broadcast, arp, magic) Test sending wol packets with running tcpdump -i enP3p49s0 '(udp and port 7) or (udp and port 9)' show that orange pi successfully receive wol packets on speeds 1000 or even 10 mbps while powered on. But after sending orange pi to suspend or power off I cannot bring it online via WOL. So I suppose network component outside orange pi is ok and it is something wrong with orange pi. Any ideas?

Hi guys, I got a SPIdev overlay to work on the rock S0, figured I'd just share it here for the record, since I could have used this info myself (I spent days trying to figure it out since I had no experience with device trees or whatnot). Basically, download the attached .dts file, then run sudo armbian-add-overlay rk3308-spi2-spidev.dts I also edited /boot/armbianEnv.txt and added this line, but I'm unsure if that's actually necessary? param_spidev_spi_bus=2 This worked on Armbian 24.5.1 Noble, creating /dev/spidev2.0. You can verify that it works using this tool: https://github.com/rm-hull/spidev-test The dts file is based on this one…

This repeats constantly and quite rapidly, and just doesn't stop. I can silence it by plugging a monitor into HDMI port, but... I prefer to run my board headless (serial + net). Does anybody know any other way to get rid of this? This "feature" was absent with the -rc7 kernel.

The problem is that each of these devices get the same permanent MAC address on the ethernet port as the first device. 77. Hello Is it possible to install emby server in Orange Pi5? Thanks

  78. Hello everybody. I own a Orange Pi 5 Plus with Debian and 3 partitions: boot, root and storage (fat, ext4, ext4). Now I want to try Armbian but I don't want to overwrite the storage partition, so I shoudn't use dd to write the .img file. Ant tip to solve this situation? Thanks.

  79. Armbian 24.5.1. I don't have a serial console setup so I can't tell if it's actually starting to boot or not, but it never gets to the point where a video signal is sent to HDMI. It *does* send a CEC on signal to the TV, which does turn on, and power-cycling the Pi then begins a normal boot process. Pi also boots normally headless. Problem noted on one Insignia model and on a Vizio TV, works as expected on another Insignia model, on a Hisense and on an LG. Issue began after updating the kernel from legacy.

  82. Hi guys We're trying to run SPI with Linuxcnc. But sometimes SPI latency with other hardware (FPGA) gets big. The operating system is armbian and I could install a real-time kernel on it so I know it shouldn't be real-time issue with kernel. In my network context I implement 2 vlans as vlan interfaces (eth0.10 and eth0.20). Each of these interfaces needs to use a specific mac address that differs from physical eth0 mac address (it is an important point). If I use only the physical mac my router is not be able to route correctly between vlans (probably an ivl/svl issue). Under this context I first noticed that when I bring down eth0.20 although using vlan 10 (so eth0.10) connectivity is lost. I then wr…
